Hello VJ members Merry Christmas! I am presently looking for a flight via Delta Airlines going to Melbourne, Florida. I want to leave on the 30th of December with my daughter. I packed three 23 kilos checked-in luggages and two 7 kilos handcarry. Are we okay with this? And what is the most that I can bring with me as money allowance? We are on a very tight budget. Will 200 dollars be enough? Done with our CFO and sticker. Anything more I need to prepare? International roaming sim card? Do's and dont's. Suggestions will be of great help. Thank you so much.

Another thing. When I look on the websites for flights schedules, the last leg of the flight, Atlanta, Georgia to Melbourne Florida, have no available seats. What's in there are "preferred seats". I have no idea how this works. :help:

PhilippinesPhilippines: Custody Paperwork for Children Post-Annulment?

I hope I'm not interrupting this thread, but while we are discussing kids, my fiance has a 5 yr old. She was never married to the father and in fact he had a family (wife, kids) that he didn't tell her about. She has found out now and also found out that he apparently passed away (not confirmed though - just what she heard).

Anyway, what does she need to get so that her child can come with her as part of the K-1 Visa we are doing? I guess just a death certificate for the biological father? And does anyone know how to do that? He lived in Manila, she lives in Cebu. Does she have to go to Manila to do it?

If the OP doesn't want any interruption on this thread then I can edit this post to remove my question - but I thought that the ppl reading this thread might have this answer also.

If the biological father is dead and he acknowledged his child, you need his death certificate. If the child was not acknowledged by the father in the birth certificate of the child, you only need a consent to travel from the Dept. of Social Welfare in her locality since the child is still a minor.

We filed CR-1s for my wife and her 3 children. She had her previous marriage annulled. For the custody of the two boys (8 & 10 yrs old), the annulment document states: The custody of the minor <6 year old daughter’s name> is awarded to the petitioner. However, the respondent <children’s father’s name> shall be free to visit their minor child. With regard to their two (2) children, namely: <10 year old’s name> and <8 year old’s name>, option is given to them to whom they would like to stay and live with in accordance with Section 4, Supreme Court En Banc Resolution No. A. M. 02-11-12-SC and the Family Code.

Here's the snippet from the Rule on Provisional orders (A.M. 02-11-12-SC): Section 4. Child Custody...The court may award provisional custody in the following order of preference: (1) to both parents jointly; (2) to either parent taking into account all relevant considerations under the foregoing paragraph, especially the choice of the child over seven years of age, unless the parent chosen is unfit...

So, they are basically saying that, because the children are over 7 years old, they can choose with whom they want to go (crazy law, eh). We are getting the travel affidavit from the biological father. :thumbs:

Do y'all think we need to get some other custody document?


You only need a consent to travel from the biological father.

Hello i have been watching this forum for a year now. My fiancee has been going thru anullment process for last year. My question is what papers does she have to have before i file K-1 petition. From what i have been able to learn is what is required is judges final decision and certificate of nullity. My fiancee is from tne Philippines. Thanks for any info.

I am a Filipina working in a Family Court that handles annulment here in the Philippines. Your fiancee will need the decision of the annulment, entry of judgment, then the decree of annulment. Then she need to secure copy of the marriage contract with the annulment annotated on it. A total of four documents. BTW, if there is already a decision, she need to wait 20 days from receipt of the Solicitor General of copy of her decision before she can secure the entry of judgment. After securing the Entry of Judgment, she will have to register the same to the Local Civil Registrar where the marriage took place. The said office will transmit the same to the NSO. She will show the Court what date the LCR transmitted the documents to the NSO. With the proof of receipt of the NSO, the Court will then issue the Decree of Annulment. After 15 days from receipt of the NSO of her documents, she can now request for copy of the marriage contract with the annotated annulment proceedings. She need to request for at least 4 copies for future use.

Where are you located sister? You need to register first the divorce decree with the Local Civil Registrar of Manila. All divorce decree should be registered first in the LCR of Manila before filing a judicial recognition of divorce decree in court. You can file the recognition where you reside.

Received our NOA1 May 4,2012. Under VSC. Still no NOA2. Waiting mode..... We didnt include the petitioner's passport showing his arrival and departure in the Philippines. Hope we didnt get an RFE. Just photos together, itinerary, boarding pass, and chat logs.

Good evening all! Just a quick question. I am currently waiting anxiously for an interview date from the NVC. I have sent my AOS package (on 3/18) and the IV package for my husband (received 3/26). We are currently in the CR-1/IR-1 route and I noticed that those with the timelines of couples who have successfully made it through have stated "Log-in failure" and shortly thereafter received notification of a completed NVC case. What log-in is this? Would it be the log-in to check the invoice status of the AOS/IV fee bills? I am curious because this is the only log-in I am familiar with for the NVC. Any light shed on this topic would be much appreciated from our veterans on this site. Good luck, and God speed for those who join me at this point.

Good luck to you both. I dont have much to offer you in the way of advice on this topic, but I did happen to notice that your interview is a day before my husbands interview. Only to send off for the police clearance. should we phone for a medical appointment and hope the police clearance comes before that? Like the others said, get new shots if it's difficult for your fiance to get his vaccination records and get him to book the Medical...I got lucky to get one 2 days after i called because of a cancellation otherwise I would have had to wait 3-4 weeks

!! see thats exactly why we're being held up completely. XD he got new shots, and we're waiting on his current dr to send him the new forms along with his mental state record.

we still have to send for the police record aswell. =/ so we got a good 2-3 weeks before even doing a medical WHEN the passport gets here.

It really sucks. I did not expect things to take this long with a simple renewal or even finding his medical records from when he's moved. :<

Thankfully, everything is ready to be sent out as soon as the missing documents get there...I just hope the medical/interview won't take much longer after we send in the rest of p3.

I'm still stuck waiting on my fiance's flipping passport renewal...what a waste of time, i wish he caught it sooner. Uk's passport renewal is backlogged and only working on December, and he sent it off in Jan. :s it's like Vermont all over again!

He has to hunt down medical information still and is awaiting on the renewal of his passport. he sent it off about 7 weeks ago when we noticed it was about to expire =/. Delayed cause of the high travel season...sigh
