PhilippinesJust called the USCIS regarding March filers...
QUOTE (rockhouse @ Jul 13 2009, 01:10 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
The service rep told me that they were indeed working on the cases filed late November. I then asked her, "does that mean that we have 3 to 4 months worth of cases ahead of ours until they get to the March filers?"
She said, "yes"
I said, "it's already been 4 1/2 months since our case was filed. How is it possible that with 3 to 4 months worth of cases ahead of ours, that we will receive the NOA2 within the 6 month time frame?"
She said, "the last known case to be adjudicated was dated November 25, 2009. We ask that you wait the 6 month allotted time and if no changes have been made to your case, call back and inquire further."

This is really frustrating and disheartening.

Unfortunatly you talked to someone that didnt have a clue other than the USCIC proccessing data that we have access to by clicking the proccessing times link above. They pull up the page that says NOV 25 and they take liberties with that data... They dont know anything other that what they see on the USCIS site... its a darn shame... That Nov 25 date should adjust this week by the way so if you were to call and get that same person at the end of the week.. the story would change... You are not the first person here to get misinformed by the reps at USCIS.

PhilippinesAnyone?
QUOTE (JosMeg12 @ Aug 26 2009, 05:35 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Hi everyone! I just have a question.. anyone have a case where the beneficiary is living in a country other than their home country where the US Embassy will be processed through?

Reason I ask is my fiancee is in Aruba, but will be going home to the Philippines for his interview. Our NOA 2 is only a few months away and I was curious to where they would send the information for him, to Aruba or Philippines?

To make things even more complicated, he will be moving as of Sept 1st...to another apartment in Aruba.. only for a few months before he goes home to the Phillipines..so do we need to do a change of address?

The reason we did not go through the embassy in Venezuela is because he is not a resident of aruba, they did not approve his renewal of his work permit, eventhough he has been there for 9 years. But he is currently in appeals with that.. Nothing is easy! Especially waiting... I know everyone knows that! I just dont want any confusion with anything when the NOA 2 does evenutally come. Any replies would be greatly appreciated, I read through VJ for hours and hours on end and I decided I should just write and ask and see if anyone can help. Thank you all in advance and God Bless

PhilippinesWater filter for family home?
QUOTE (charles! @ Sep 21 2009, 03:46 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
i'd suppose much of this depends on how easily one could get replacement filters and the cost of the filters, along with how long a filter lasts.........

I agree Charles.. a high end RO system with a large holding tank for chlorination would do the trick... The cartridges are not heavy and could be shuttled to PI with friends or even shipped.... This is under the assumption that we are talking about potable water... I would not reccomend the RO for bath water. although there are whole house RPO systems out there.. But bath water could be drawn from the chlorinated holding tank.... and run through a low end filter... There is no single brand that I would recommend, the trick is to get a high enough quality of cartridge to address the filtration requirements... And Chlorination in a holding tank is a key....

Philippinesquestions about colored slips..
QUOTE (happyme @ Sep 27 2009, 01:20 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
hello, just want to ask questions to those people experienced having a white slip and blue slip in the Philippine Consulate....

what is written in the blue slip and white slip...?

and does this pink slip really a guarantee that embassy will issue the visa..? does anyone of u experienced had the pink slip but requested for other evidence..? or put into A/R?...

any other colored slip beside on these slips above?...

hope someone can show me these colored slips thank u in advance!!!!

Those are the 3 standard slips used..
Pink means visa approved...
Blue, means they need something... time more docs. anything...
White means Denied
Green is sometimes used in place of blue...

Thats not to say they wont use a different color if they run short at some time...

Philippineswhat is the purpose of the NVC?????
Yep. Expect a month in AP unless they are telling you a false AP. Sometimes they say AP just because it hasn't left for the consulate yet. If it's AP then there is nothing that can be done to speed things up at least for the first month or two. Should be out in 30 days or so. Be polite if they call.
ScottThuyMaleVietnam2010-01-05 13:49:00
Philippineswhat is the purpose of the NVC?????
It is an additional FBI check that is usually triggered by some flag raised at USCIS. Expect a month or so and if you were recently divorced expect a call from someone looking for your ex (NVC)
ScottThuyMaleVietnam2010-01-05 13:18:00
PhilippinesFinally out of AP at the NVC!!!

I just got off the phone with the NVC and they sent it to Manilla yesterday!!!! finally here she comes home!!!!

Congrats.. right at 1 month.. they are still at the same timeframe as before...

all you can do is get her treated..... I have seen a couple that ended up having to get TB treatments before they can get approved.. they were allowd to do the interview without medical approval... the sucky part is that the treatment will take them 18 months...

First things first.. worry about her health and treatment..I would have her get the medical... do the interview, then get better.. get a clean medical and give the consulate the clean medical... the visa will come in time...

PhilippinesLooking for ticket deal goin to da Pinas

I use bookingbuddy.com. The last time I bought a ticket it was from onetravel.com All you can do is keep looking at the sites. ASAPtickets.com is decent and gave me the cheapest ticket to the PI when I went in feb. One thing to remember though...their prices DO NOT include taxes when you do the search...so you have to actually call them to find out the end price. Expedia is usually pretty good and includes all taxes in the price of the ticket.

A great resource! thanks Scott!

PhilippinesFinancial Arrangements between couple?
It all depends on the values of the family itself... if the family values education more than a new car or ones personal image, the child will go to college paid... In the US so many people are too worried about themselves and not thier children...
Sorry junior.. we cant send you to college because we spent the money on vacations and designer clothes or nights out to outback... there are some really selfish parents here... as well as selfish spouses... remember the US is a country of consumers.. They consume everything in sight and dont care about the consequences

There are rude people from evey corner of the world.. were you surprised that a fellow Pinay could be rude? Did you never meet someone in PI that was rude? I have met several Pinay that were rude and I dont label every Pinay as rude because of the actions of a few..

The woman is best friends with his ex and you are surprised she wasnt polite and thrilled you were with him rather than her best friend.... Its just as much in his lap as it was hers for taking you to a situation like that.... If he was in a couples bowling league with his ex and then he shows up with you as his new bowling partner, the other people who were best friends / members of the group with the ex would not likely treat you the same as the ex at first... it takes time to adjust to change and get used to new people and situations...

Not that PI And VN handle things the same, but as Darnell said, we were in AP and they came out and questioned neighbors, family members and even called my ex-wife.. It all depends on how they want to handle things and if there are red flags in the case...

QUOTE (Anonymous @ Dec 22 2009, 01:22 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Agreed, but why does it really matter if they are his kids or not? If he chooses to accept them as his and raise them as his own, then that should be his choice. People marry parents of young children in the US all the time. For that matter, US citizens marry foreign nationals with children (who are of no relation to the US citizen) all the time and successfully petition them for immigration to the US. Those children will have to, eventually, pass the US citizenship requirements if they want to become US citizens, but they are certainly not denied entry to the US. The only difference in this case is that the petitioner is claiming the children are his own, which immediately

Philippinespregnancy during k1 visa pls help!!

No it doesn't affect the interview or the petition. They only care if the baby is born before the visa is issued.

This depends on the country... A VJ member who's fiance became pregnant while waiting for the interview in VN was told that she had to wait until the baby was born to prove paternity. His daughter died while waiting for the consulate to approve the visa. Health care isnt the same everywhere...

Hi all!

(1) Can IR-1/CR-1 be put on AP also? I noticed that mostly K1's are on AP at NVC.
(2) When you say you spoke to a Supervisor at NVC, how sure are you that the person you spoke to was REALLY a Supervisor? What if it was just a call center staff pretending to be a Supervisor? (just wondering..) unsure.gif

1.CR1 and IR1 filers can get AP but you dont really see it happen at NVC since they get the file first and do the initial processing.. in that case AP happens when the file takes longer than normal, but they would usually not call it AP..... When they are done with the file and send it to the consulate, at that point one could get AP including K filers.. yep a K filer can be put in AP one more time after going through it at NVC. There are several filers at our consulate that have been in AP for some time.. in some cases a year or more...

2. Thats why I said reported to be a supervisor.. There is no way, in my mind, that it was... she was far too rude... and her english was very bad.

Today was the day that NVC cust service sent me over the edge headbonk.gif ... I got the rep that has such a bad grasp on the english language that my fiance who does not speak english as her primary language could teach this woman english. She said she could not tell me anything other than the script.. she said she would get a supervisor.. then she came back to say nobody had time to talk to me now.. call back later... I said I would be glad to hold... No can't hold I have to use the line... call back... Since I had already called and waited on hold I saw no need to do it again tonight... So she said hold on and got what was reported to be a "supervisor".. yup her english was worst than the original rep.... She had no answers other than the ones given by the first person and when I asked what AP was and why I was having to go through it... Because of "natural security" she could not say nothing... and if I wanted to talk to someone I could call DOS... yep same number from earlier today when they asked me why I called them and not NVC... she finally gave me the silent treatment eb0dfafc.gif when I would ask her a question.. and when I would say well are you there? Are you going to answer me? She would just say.. yes I am here I hear you...

So now its off to see my congressman tomorrow... Funny thing that his office is only a couple of blocks from mine... then off to get my senator into it... I paid to get the damned visa application processed and there is no reason for it to take any longer than any other case... or to just sit on someones desk..

Ahh the rant is done...

Just called DOS... She said "why did you call here" "We don't supervise NVC" "Why don't you call NVC" She told me I was in AP and that my case had not been sent to the consulate. And then without asking, she transfered me to the NVC#.
Not a call I am going to make again...

I guess I am at the point that there isn't anything that can speed it up and it is what it is... A call a couple of times each week to see if it is through should be sufficient...

It sux that they already did the background checks and decided there were no issues, but for some reason now NVC must do it again...

Just sent an email to saoinquiries@state.gov. but its a bad email address...
