Hi everyone! I'm new. I just wanted to say hi and introduce myself.

I'm a returned peace corps volunteer that served in Mali. I met my fiance there. And now I'm trying to get him to America. It's only been a week and a half since I last saw him and I'm already going crazy. I don't know how I'll pass the time without him. Anyway, I'll be around since I find this website so addicting. Plus it makes me feel better about the whole situation since we're all in the same boat. I have millions of questions to ask too.

Welcome. I do believe there is one other former PC volunteer here, but I've not seen her in a while. Have you been to the PC site where former volunteers share their stories?

Just a little . DId you ever get your SO's debt resolved ? Isn't it fun how they can haunt you long after they are gone.

Yea, I did get the debt resolved and I bear the burden. California is a community property state so whatever debt he ran up before the separation is half mine. To make matters worse, I went to try and get a mortgage and they want to calculate all of his unpaid debts on me. All of it! I didn't even know he had taken out the cards that he had and they are credited to me. Talk about hurt, I almost want to move to another state so that I can have a chance at a normal life. The money I had in savings is depleted and my financial life is in the dumps. However, I firmly believe that the person I chose was a sick con man who has made his living going from woman to woman country to country and not looking back. Since his getting his green card, many of his friends have opened up and divulged information that they hid before. Of course the main one is that his "break downs" were not unusual and the money spending habit was well known. The part that took my breath away, is the amount of times I've heard that he was under spell to explain away his past and current behavior. My case is just plain weird and I really got into a bad situation. Its funny how somewhere deep down inside of me I wish he was a plain scammer. I laugh to myself when I think this because a plain scammer dude seems like a step up from a dangerous insane one. Odd rofl.gif

OK it has been a long week. Last week one of my grandchildren let the cat out and it was attacked by coyotes. She took her first steps today, so she is on the road to recovery.
I have been reading VJ to distract me but I had this really odd dream. ALL of Joseph's siblings wanted to follow him here at once and I was filling out 17 copies of all these forms and keeping straight which sibling was from which wife and that the 125% level kept changing before I got them all filled out.
What would the 125% level be for a 19 ?

I bought carrot juice for the first time last week. I thought it tasted delicious until I read the ingredient label, the brand I bought listed "tilapia fish gelatin"....and then suddenly it didn't taste as good. I will buy a different brand once hubby drinks that one. I know there are tons of things in food that we never notice, but for some reason this really bothers me. Go figure.

Ummmmm..... mine was freshly juiced so just carrot juice.

How in the world did anyone come up with fish and carrots together?

Good morning!

Welcome home Whydbe!

Chipsa.. I have some research to do on cars for my trial against my ex. During a mediation he stated he registered his car, but his sticker shows he registered it 2 months later. Plus he doesn't have his license. Who registers a vehicle when you can't have your license for not paying your child support.

Yah real smart.

I wonder if he got someone to help him or if he just took another person's sticker? To me its been an eyeopener the crimes that one can commit against another person and get away with it. I used to always do things by the book, and right now swear that if I decide to be underhanded, that I would be the one to get caught! blink.gif BTW. I have an idea now which city my car is in so we'll have to narrow it down to the address. I don't think mine would qualify to rent an appt. with his credit score, but I do know there're tons of "fellow countrymen" out there to sublet to him. Let's see where we go with this.

Yes I got back into my own bed at 5:30am on Monday morning (only to wake up at 6:30 and go to work!). My trip was wonderful, but as y'all know, very hard to leave. For me it was harder this time than last time because I know the next time I see my husband will be at his interview - so a long time away! CSC appears to be processing NOA2's rather quickly (one in my Feb Filers group got it 15 days!!) so hopefully things keep moving quicker than expected. Not getting my hopes up but it will be a nice surprise if it does happen quickly.

Yes, the second time leaving was harder for me too as I foresaw the long separation that was ahead me. I hope your process continues quickly

I agree, that stuff is going to alter your brain chemistry and is overkill just for insomnia, like killing a fly with a machine gun.......make that a nuclear bomb.
I advice you get a second opinion. Suggestion, get Ambien in the strongest dose and cut it in half for the rest of the month so you can take it every day.

Omoba, I have a story to tell about Ambien. blush.gif I took it when I was first having "issues" and my kids said I did the oddest things. Mind you, my SO used to wake me up in the middle of the night screaming and shouting about one thing or another so I had a hard time sleeping through the night.
One thing I did was get in the car with my daughter to buy Hagen Daas ice cream at the pharmacy. She said I ate the ice cream with chopsticks and asked her to drive me around a new subdivision to pick out my dream house. She didn't know what was going on, but after several weird events like this one, they decided that I should not be left alone while taking Ambien. I also ate a bag of the mini snickers bars during the night then woke up in the morning demanding to know who threw candy wrappers at me during the night.
Woa,, if you take Ambien Uno make sure you are not alone until you know how your body will react. Lots of hugs

Wow. That sounds challenging. My son is working as an autism specialist para while in college. He says one of the best things about working with his students is that they are transparent in character. He never has to guess what they are thinking once you learn their personalities. With the increasing rate of autism in the US, I say that you are in high demand. good.gif I have the high school students who know more than I do and aren't afraid to tell me that they know more than me. girlwerewolf2xn.gif If the recertification weren't so lengthy, I would have switched to Special Ed years ago. Just to add, I just spoke to my daughter who said she was not able to see the wedding ceremony because the pastor ordered the door locked at 2pm on the dot. They got there around 2:02pm! I would have been hot had I flewn 3,000 miles and not gotten to go in the church.

For me its the music. It takes me back to a time when I was too young to hang out all night in the discos and old enough to dream about hanging out at the discos. I had no idea what the songs were saying and would replace the words with some mumbo-jumbo I made up. So now I feel nostalgic about that time when I hear the ABBA songs.

Hi All and Good Morning.
Been a short while and am just catching up on on the news. Omoba, I feel badly for the situation you are all faced with. My SO's adopted sister (she was adopted by him since she was a baby when the parents died) was coming with him and went through the whole process too. Right after they were both approved, she got pregnant. Unfortunately the boyfriend thought that being the "father" of her kid, he would also be able to come to the US too. They both were seriously disappointed to learn that niether of them would come. About a year or so after, she begged to be allowed to come, but it was too late! The boyfried is no longer and she is there depressed. Not a good scenario
