Wow, how do you get the info to track this stuff?

I see LARAEYES package in there also I think.....nothing to London for us though...LOL

If you know the date your case was shipped out, you can follow the instructions in this thread: http://www.visajourn...nvc-to-embassy/

*Note: I don't know if you'll bother to read the whole thread besides the first post, but instead of using the example of EXP19MAR2009A, since June 2009 the new format would be: EXP 19 MAR 2009A. The spaces are now important or you won't find any shipments whatsoever.

I actually used the method listed on the thread to track my package on Monday from NVC to Montreal. Pretty nifty! :D

I looked at allll the e-mails that I have received from USCIS and NVC including the ones from TSC but I can't see the Serco anywhere. Maybe I remember it from your wiki page. Yeah it might have gotten stuck on my head from there :). That wiki has a lot of info. Thanks again.

How does the optin acceptance email worded? Will I know clearly that it is accepted? All these e-mails from NVC makes your head spin

Here's the exact email I got. It's definitely clear that it's the optin acceptance, especially since they reply to your optin email and not just a stand-alone email.

Dear Sir/Madam:

Thank you for your interest in processing your case electronically with the National Visa Center (NVC).

Your case has been updated with the email address you have provided to us.

All further communication with NVC will now be done through this email address: NVCElectronic@state.gov.

Haha, I don't recall his name because he mumbled it. When he asked me the names for beneficiary I was spelling it so he could understand since our names are easy to pronounce usually, and he stopped me " Just say it, don't spell it." So rude.

side note: I'm still able to sign into the NVC payment portal so I guess they haven't forwarded the case yet.

Yeah, the rude operator I got mumbled his name too, but I thought I had heard Andrew.

The rudeness of some of these operators are astounding.

Next time you call, hopefully you'll get a nice one.

Just called again to confirm I did have an expedite, and got a very rude operator. I asked him to confirm that it was approved since I hadn't gotten any emails yet and he said yes, you need to give it 48-72 hours to be processed. Then I asked how long does it typically take NVC to send the case to consulate. And he very rudely said " I told you, it takes 48-72 hours". Sheesh!!! :bonk:

Any chance his name was Andrew? I got a very rude operator about 2 weeks ago and I'm pretty sure his name was Andrew.

Just call another operator and ask the same questions. Hopefully you won't get a rude one.

Totally baffled here, but because our lawyer ticked the OPTIONAL box to say we have a checking account, we have to provide the evidence. It all sounds VERY flaky to me, as we are NOT using this as part of any supporting evidence on the I-864 - we have a joint sponsor.

I am emailing them now, this is just ridiculous.

Wow, that's ridiculous. Definitely email/call cause you should have been done with NVC by now and possibly even have an interview date by now.

Sorry to hear that :( I wish you to solve all those problems with NVC fast and get interview date soon. By the way, how are timelines for interviews at your embassy? Long wait? Although Lithuania is small, but we didn't get interview date for April, because NVC told us they were full. So guess what? I googled and found out that immigration interviews in US embassy in Lithuania are scheduled just for Tuesdays and just from 8.30 to 12.30pm and that's it. So of course they are full!!! So basically we are wasting all April just for waiting...

Wow, really? So there are only like 4 days out of the whole month that interviews are scheduled on? Posted Image That seems a little ridiculous...

I understand your frustration. Monday we find out about RFE, called them to let them now that is less than 12 months outside the country. Tuesday spoke with supervisor and let him now also and he made a note in the system. Wednesday we get RFE letter dated 30 March and AVR is telling us 28 March. This is such a broken system. Today the operator told me to wait , but for what if the pack was already reviewed and they have asked a document not needed according with their website. I'm just wondering to add NVC error along with USCIS error tomorrow when I will ask the expedite ? :D

This is what I got in response of my email sent to the yesterday :
Dear Sir/Madam:

Your inquiry has been received at the National Visa Center (NVC).

The correspondence submitted is currently under review. An appropriate
action will be taken once this review has been completed.

If a period of one year passes from the last date of contact with the
NVC (by email, telephone or mail), all submitted fees and documents will
expire. In that case, your fees will need to be repaid and documents
will need to be resubmitted in order to continue the immigration
process.

What I must understand from this? Is the RFE mistake over or is just a delay? Some opinion will be appreciated.

I'd say they got your response and are looking into it. I'm not sure if it's quite over yet. I hope so though! You guys need your CC before the week is over.

Congrats to everyone that has received their interview dates!

Also, a word of advice for anyone doing Electronic Processing(@ Montreal), do NOT email any of your supporting documentation before you receive your opt-in confirmation from NVC. I waited 30 days and my documents had still not been reviewed and after speaking with a supervisor I was told that if you send your documents before you received the opt-in confirmation they will be confused and not have a case to match the documents to! At this point I'm not sure that electronic processing is any faster than snail mail :(

I also had to re-email my documents. Now, whether or not they reviewed my original documents or the ones I re-sent, I don't know. I'm betting that if I had mailed my documents instead of emailed, I would have been out of NVC a lot faster than 37 days since I was done sending things to NVC within 5 business days of getting my case number. Oh well, can't complain as I finished NVC with no RFEs and have an interview date for early May.

We are with you...this is nuts. Val just called NVC, and a SECOND operator says we now have to provide ownership of a savings account with just over one dollar in it. You could NOT make it up, and I find this absolutely appalling. We have been on medical expedite since Nov 26th, and they are doing this to us?

Words fail me...and I understand how pissed off you are about providing a PCC you don't need. Once again - NO accountability.

Um, wow... Really? Posted Image Why... Wha... I am completely baffled. Have you tried talking to a supervisor and asking them WHY they want this information? It's not required at all...

anyone know what information is sent from NVC to the consulate? My wife messed up on a part for the G325A (back in USCIS stage) for her work history...she put unemployed, but then on DS-230, for her work history, she put self-employed web designer (which she is). I am really hoping this discrepancy does not cause major problems.

I doubt it would cause any problems. Bring an updated G-325A for her though and perhaps she can explain it to someone there and give the new one, so they have the correct info.

I just sent expedite request. wish me luck! i sent it 2 nvc... should i send to juarez embassy 2?

Ughh...

NVC now say they haven't received our DS230 which was sent along with all the rest of our documents. Add this to the fact they say we have to wait 20 days for a review of Val's $150 bank statement, and you get the impression we are being messed about.

SO much for an expedite.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresAOS Fee Complete.

@ Saylin hehe yeah, we refer to your link a lot (Canadian Wiki). It has been really helpful! Thank you :) We did complete the DS-261. I think that was the first thing we did actually :)

Would be beneficial to include our case number on all documents I am scanning (tax returns and such)? I was thinking I'd write it on a sticky note or something and place it on the document before scanning.

Glad you read my wiki!

What date did you send the DS-261? Have you called the AVR since then to see if it says that they'd accepted the Choice of Agent form? I had filled out the DS-261 on a Thursday, on Saturday the AVR updated to say it was accepted, and by Monday the IV bill appeared.

I don't think writing the case number on documents for EP is that important, but I'd still do it. I did it. I actually digitally added the case number in Adobe Acrobat after scanning everything and combining it into one pdf. But sticky notes are good too :)

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresAOS Fee Complete.

Just be to certain that I have everything covered here.

The AOS fee came up as paid last night. I proceeded to print the "cover sheet" (saved to desktop). I then went to USCIS and saved a copy of the I-864 onto my desktop.
So from there I need... 3 years of tax transcripts, 6 months of pay stubs... an "Employment Letter"? So I am clear, what exactly is that? Am I to go to my employer and request they write a letter on my behalf?

Is there anything else at all that I will need to include in this packet that I have not mentioned?

Also: Do/Can I send this packet now and send the beneficiary packet at a later date? Wife is still waiting on police report.

When will the IV fee appear? It still says not available. Does it appear only after I have sent this packet?

Thank you for your time :)

What's mandatory for the AOS package: bar-coded cover sheet, completed and signed I-864, and recent year of tax information.

Three years of tax transcripts is optional, but if you have it, I say send it.

The pay stubs and employment letter are optional as well, but good to send. Here's a link to a sample employment letter: http://www.visajourn...ployment_Letter

Most VJ members also include a cover letter with their packages, but this is optional as well. Here's a link to a sample I-864 cover letter: http://www.visajourn...64_Cover_letter

As for the IV bill appearing, you have to complete the online DS-261.

I'd highly, highly suggest you read the wiki I wrote that's linked in my signature to help with the online forms that are mandatory for Canadians.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Procedurescopy of all pages of US Citizens passport

My husband, an LPR has applied for Naturalization and he's scheduled for interview on June 27, 2011. And while waiting for his interview and naturalization, I am also busy preparing for the necessary documents that goes with I-130 form just in case he will be approved of his citizenship (God willing!).

While assembling the I-130 package checklist, I noticed in item no. 4 Copy of ALL PAGES of US Citizen's passport? Do I need to include this in the package? I understand that he can get this only after his naturalization will be approved. But i understand that this will still be blank pages immediately after his citizenship's approval.

Please help me. Thanks!

For the I-130, to prove US citizenship, you have two choices: either send all the pages of his future US passport OR to send in a copy of his naturalization certificate. It'll probably be faster to scan just his certificate when he gets it than waiting on applying for a US passport and then scanning ALL the pages.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresIs there a certain 'order' that the civil documents have to be scanned in?

Hey everyone, the wife and I are at the final stages, and I finally got all my civil docs ready to scan back to NVC. Is there a certain order these have to be scanned in? I understand that I have to have the full pdf file under 10mb total.

Also, those of you that had the Interview, how did you organize your paperwork? Did you have a binder? I'm kind of getting scared that I won't have the paperwork in order when the officer asks for certain docs...organization is not my strength...but I have a feeling that I'm going to get better at it real quick!

thanks!

Nope, there's no specific order in which you need to put the civil docs. As long as they're all there, that's what matters. And if you include a cover letter, then make sure they're in the same order as listed.

For my case, I had everything in an accordion-styled folder. You can see pictures in this post on my blog: http://journeythroug...w-tomorrow.html [second picture] If organization isn't your strength, I'd suggest maybe having a separate binder from your evidence. In the binder have everything that will be requested at the interview: interview letter, passport, 2 passport pictures, medical results, copy of your AOS package, a DS-230, original/certified copy of the beneficiary's birth certificate, original/certified copy of the marriage certificate, and the original police certificate.

The 2 ppl u saw r k-1 visa filers not IR/CR-1 filers  The last time a IR/CR filer had an interview was back in February : :bonk:!! Accra is ridiculously slow and they don't seem to care about doing anything about their backlog .

Um, the two people I saw were in an NVC thread for IR-1/CR-1 applicants. But they weren't from Ghana. I posted that message before the OP specified for Ghana only.

And using the immigration timeline function, the last interview for Ghana was April, not February, for IR-1/CR-1 applicants. But of course, that's only taking data from those that keep their timelines up to date, so their might have been others. Plus, you have to keep in mind, not every single person emigrating from Ghana is on this website, so I'm sure there have been more interviews since April.

Like another poster said, operators won't know your case has arrived at NVC until an officer starts reviewing. Yes, your package was received in the mail room, but hasn't been scanned yet into the system. Usually it takes 2 weeks from the package arriving at NVC for them to review.

And no, you won't get any email confirmation that your AOS has been approved. Just keep calling NVC and talk with an operator. That's the only way you'll know your package was approved. Same thing with the IV package.

I sent each package in one pdf file. There's no specific instructions on NVC's site, but it's recommended that it's in one pdf file instead of separate files. Just think about it, a reviewing officer would much prefer to just click and open one file then a bunch of files. Make the officer happy and put it into one file :)

Now the IV bill has been paid. Should we wait for NVC email instruction before sending DS-230 along with supporting documents? From one post that I read here, it seems we can send them right now.

Thank you in advance!

As long as the IV bill appears as PAID on the payment portal site, then you can send the IV package; you don't need to wait for NVC to tell you to send it.

For scanning the pictures, this is what I did: I put both pictures on the scanner at the same time, one was face up and the other face down. I scanned that. I then flipped the pictures over, so the one that was facing up now faces down, and the one that was facing down now faces up. Then scanned that. I then added both as pdf files to the main pdf file containing the other documents. And that was it :)

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresI864

Hello,

My grandfather has an interview next month. I remember me (the co-sponsor) and my grandmother (petitioner)both filled out a copy to NVC as a part of the AOS packet.

Do we need to send my grandfather a new batch of I-864? Don't they already have copies of these when we first submitted it to NVC?

I'm a bit confused and could use some clarification.

Thanks,

Technically, the I-864 isn't needed at the interview (unless someone got a new job or moved or any other update) since the consulate/embassy will have received all forms from NVC, including the AOS package you submitted. But it's always suggested here to bring a copy of all packages sent to USCIS and NVC (so I-130, I-864, and DS-230) with you to the interview. But it's optional.
SaylinFemaleCanada2011-06-17 21:54:00
IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresPacket for DS-260

Here is what I am sending. (in this order)

- Cover sheet
- cover letter
- Scan of Applicant's Passport (Biographic Data Page).
- Scan of Applicant's Birth Certificate.
- Scan of Certificate of Marriage (between Petitioner and Applicant).
- Scan of Applicant 's Certificate of Divorce (previous marriage).
- Scan of Applicant's Police Certificate.
- 2 Passport Size photos of Applicant (Case #, name and D.O.B written on back of both).

Is there anything else I need to send that comes to mind? I originally had birth certificates of all my children in there, but since 1 is a US citizen and the other 2 are not immigrating, I removed them. I also had a scan of my husbands divorce decree but removed it as well thinking that NVC probably only wants MY documents.

Thanks for your time.

Looks like you have all the documents required.

I don't think you need to include the petitioner's divorce certificate as the IV package is all about the beneficiary.

And I don't think you need your children's birth certificates either as one is a US citizen and the others aren't immigrating. Call up NVC to confirm this though as they might still want their birth certificates for some reason.

I would also like to know if my husband has to send this (as he is the agent for this case)? Or if it is okay for me (as the Applicant) to send?

Do I hang on to the original documents and provide them later (at the interview) or must I send them now (via snail mail)? At this time I have a packet .pdf ready (scans).

Thanks again.

Either you or your husband can send it. I sent both the AOS and IV package and there were no problems.

And yes, hang on to the original documents, you need to bring these with you to the interview. They're going to ask for them all, hold on to them for a bit, and then return them once you get interviewed by an officer.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresCan't submit i-864 until IV bill has been paid.

It doesn't say you cannot send it. What is does say is that they will not process anything unless BOTH bills are paid. "The NVC has received the requested Affidavit of Support (I-864). However, we are still waiting for the
Immigrant Visa fee..." Without bills first showing as "paid" you cant proceed anyways... So I guess in a round about sort of way they are saying that you can't send the AOS package without paying the IV bill first.

My husband and I were under the impression that the i-864 and the IV packets were two separate things. We paid our i-864 fee 2 weeks ago and sent the AOS packet before the IV bill was available thinking that it was okay, that both packages would be investigated separately. It appears that this is not the case as we got this letter yesterday.

I am not trying to cause any trouble and I guess at the end of the day this isn't a huge deal... I just wanted to mention what has happened to us so others don't get delays in their cases as we will for not doing it correctly.

I am not a lawyer, but if I could do this over, I would pay BOTH bills at the same time and then send the packages at the same time. This is really all I wanted to say.

Thanks for reading. :)

I think you're mis-reading what they sent you. NVC is just saying that they've received your AOS package and that they're reminding you that you haven't paid your IV bill. It doesn't say at all that they won't review your AOS until you pay the IV bill. Please re-read the letter again and you'll see.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresCan't submit i-864 until IV bill has been paid.

In all of the research I have done on this website, I have been under the impression that the AOS and IV paperwork and fees are NOT linked (are two separate processes). We discovered last night that this is not true at all. Both bills must be paid at the same time according to the letter we received from NVC before they will proceed with either.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR: XXX my name XXX
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
______FEE PAYMENT:_________________________________________________
The NVC has received the requested Affidavit of Support (I-864). However, we are still waiting for the
Immigrant Visa fee(s). Please submit the fee(s) according to the instructions on the IV fee bill sent to
you from NVC. DO NOT SEND FEE PAYMENTS TO THE NVC NEW HAMPSHIRE FACILITY.
THIS WILL DELAY PROCESSING OF THE VISA. If you have not received an IV fee bill, please
contact NVC. Do not pay the fees unless you have the accompanying IV fee bill as this will result in a
delay in processing your case.

No interview will be scheduled until ALL of the information requested has been returned to the National
Visa Center.

We gather from this that because we paid our AOS bill before the IV bill was available our case will now be delayed.

We paid the AOS fee the day it appeared. The IV bill appeared a week and a half later. Seems that the proper thing to do is wait, pay both at the same time and submit both packets at the same time.

Just thought we should share this information. Thanks.

Um, where does it say in that letter that you can't send the AOS package without paying the IV bill first?

Yeah, your uncle will be a sponsor then. That's fine. You still need to put your current job on your own I-864.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresOccupation Change?

I am the petitioner. I do not list my education on the DS-230, the beneficiary does. That iss why I am referring to putting Unemployed/Full Time Student on the DS-230 where it states for Petitioner's occupation.

Oh, whoops, thought you were the beneficiary.

Since you're the petitioner, then I suppose you could put unemployed/full time student where it asks for your occupation on the DS-230.

hahaha..also i have kinda same question in mind. but i am not student. on I130 i filled occupation unemployed.
but now i am working so do i need to show them any proof anything else.

If you're the petitioner, just put the new work info on the I-864.
If you're the beneficiary, just put the new work info on the DS-230.

That's all you need to do :)
