I definitely will in a couple minutes. LOL I'm calling NVC back to get a different operator just to make sure. I'm in so much shock that I need double verification.

Saylin, I was going to wait to call NVC next Friday bc it's the first day of April. But you said don't listen and call. My interview is scheduled MAY 3!!!!!!!!!! 1 pm. Thank you so much for the advice! I don't know if this was because I requested expedite bc of USCIS and NVC error or just a fluke. THANK YOU VJ FRIENDS!!!!

OMG!!! Grats!!!!! Posted Image Posted Image Posted Image I told all of you to not listen to those damn operators when they say to wait till the second week of April to call. Posted Image

you lucky Canadians! It takes about 4 days (at least) for them to mail it to you in Colombia, and of course..like everything else I have encountered so far...you have to pay for it! Also, they make it a total pain in the butt to pick it up at Domesa locations (equivalent of DHL), which would actually be better for us since the mail system in Colombia can be quite shaky.

Yes, I'm so glad they switched to DHL last year and that we don't have to pay for the service. It can take anywhere from 3 days to 2 weeks to get it here in Canada. It depends how fast the visa is printed and then where in Canada it's getting shipped to. I live in Montreal, so it won't take long for the visa to ship from the consulate to the DHL location. Then it's just a 40 minute drive from my house to pick it up. And unlike other countries (like Columbia), the mail system here is pretty reliable.
SaylinFemaleCanada2011-03-24 16:01:00
IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresCSC to TSC to NVC: the Saga continues

Are you sure? I thought you had to pay there for them to ship your passport back to you.

For Canada, they ship the passport and visa back by DHL. It's free, but you have to pick it up at designated DHL locations. They have recently given an option for it to be shipped to your doorstep, but it's about $15. Read all about it here: http://usvisa-info.c...ier_information

In Romania all the people approved get the visa in the same day.

Wow, same day? Very nice!

Dear All - will I be able to see if/when NVC enters my AOS and IV Package into their system? Or is this something you could only get from an operator when you call? I've submitted AOS and IV package yesterday and today received FedEx confirmation that NVC has received it.

You will only be able to tell from an operator. Sometimes the AVR updates when they receive it, but don't depend on the AVR. Calling an operator is your best bet to know when the packages are entered into the system.

Wow at 600 dpi I would have thought it would have been more than 21 MB but since they're grayscale or b & w I guess its normal. I had read on one of the wikis that forms are OK at 100 dpi but pictures or certificates or anything similar should be at 200 dpi. I did the certificates and pictures at 200 dpi for the IV package and they came out great. When printing good quality everyday photos it is recommmended that the files be at least 200 dpi. So for NVC documents anything more than 200 dpi is really not needed. If I had known my package was only going to come out to 5.25 MB than I would have scanned the forms at 150 dpi. :D

Yeah, I know 600 dpi wasn't needed. But my husband just put the forms into his scanner and hit 'scan'. I wasn't going to tell him after he scanned 31 pages to re-scan them at a lower dpi. He was already so frustrated with scanning so many pages as it was.

We sent our AOS and IV packages yesterday, when will we expect a SIF and CC ??

You should get SIF and CC in about 2 weeks, if no RFEs.

Our AVR changed back today and now saying that "NVC has received checklist response on 9th March", before it was almost two weeks "Your case was complete at 10th March". They opened case back or what?
Did somebody have the same experience?
Cant wait morning to call talk with operator.

Weird that it changed back. I doubt they opened your case back. The message is just saying they received your IV package on the 9th. Maybe the AVR has gone wonky Posted Image

Since its mostly forms I mostly scanned them at 100dpi as tiff and converted them to pdf after. It came out pretty nice for its size.

Ah, you scanned at low dpi that's why. My husband scanned all his forms in 600 dpi. The whole package was originally 21 MB, but I got it reduced to 8 MB.

I asked the operator about Interview Date. He said 2nd week of the Month ? Is that true for India ? Anyone ?

Grats on getting the CC! Posted Image

Not sure about India. You should look at timelines for beneficiaries in India and see when they get interviews assigned. That's what I did, and still do, for Canada. That's how I know that people get their interviews all month long.

Congrats to all with CC's- Sarah, Foreverandever, and babaa!!  End of this journey is near!

With EP process, do you send I-864 form and DS-260 form along with all support materials? As I know, these forms will be electronically signed and submitted online. Thanks.

You email the I-864 package. You fill the DS-260 online. Then you email the supporting documents for the IV package.

You can ask for a supervisor when you call an operator. They might be of more help than the regular operator. There's no way to talk to the officers that actually review your case as far as I know.

@Saylin I've been meaning to ask you about this and keep forgetting. Has it really changed? Cause I was going to have a hard time finding the exact days.

DS-260 - Beneficiary

-If you want, pre-fill out the DS-230 [12], so you have the information and answers handy when you fill out the DS-260 online later on and save time. It's also a good idea to check out the screenshots of the DS-260 (found here [13]) as there is some extra information that isn't asked for on the DS-230. Notably, the DS-260 asks for exact dates for addresses, employment, education, etc. On the DS-230, it only asks for month and year. Make sure you have all the information before hand to save time.

Update (3/15/11): I've heard from a few people that have recently filled out the DS-260 and they're saying days are no longer asked on this form, only month and year, similar to the DS-230. Also, it only asks for current employment and no longer previous employers (no supervisor name or phone number, just address and name of employer). Also, there is no longer a section asking about current and previous education.

I've heard from two different people that they don't ask for exact dates anymore, just month and year, like on the DS-230. I'm sure people complained that getting exact days were hard and they changed it. You should be fine, just make sure you have the month and year.

AVR is telling me that my pack of forms and documents have been reviewed and has been found information missing or incomplete and that they mailed a letter on March 22 to let my now about the documents. Can it be a false FRE? maybe they aspect the DS-230 form because was sent in different dates? :help:

It could be a false RFE. Call an operator and ask just to be sure though.

Congrats to all those with cases completed!! very exciting!!! :-)

As for me, I mailed out my visa app packet today! AOS packet was delivered on 3/21. What's the average wait time for both the AOS and DS230 to be entered into the system? Operator today told me to wait 20 business days.

Grats on sending out the IV package! It usually takes about 2 weeks after sending the packages in for them to be reviewed and then a case complete if no RFEs.

Saylin, when you emailed the I-864 packet, did you include 2010 tax transcript? I just filed the tax for year 2010. May not be able to get 2010 tax transcript. Can I just send 2009 ~ 2007 tax transcript? Do you think NVC will issue a RFE for this?

All the best to your interview date.

My husband hadn't filed his 2010 taxes in February, so we didn't have 2010 tax transcripts. We just sent tax transcripts from 2007-2009 and then included an employment letter and pay stubs for current income. As long as you send your AOS package before April 18 (the due date for US tax season), you won't get an RFE issued. You will have to bring 2010 tax info though to the interview as that will be after April 18 and then it's required.

Thanks. Still no news on my interview date. Everytime I get an email notification, I practically jump out of my chair hoping it's from NVC. But alas, no email from NVC yet. Posted Image

Yeah, there's no way I'm listening to that rude operator and waiting till the second week of April to call again. I know that people find out their interview dates ALL month long, not just the second week. Hopefully, I won't ever get that operator again. I believe his name was Andrew. I didn't quite catch it when he mumbled his name quickly. Thankfully, when I called earlier today, I got a very nice operator who didn't mention me calling often nor did he rudely suggest to me to wait till the second week of April before calling again. We're so totally confused by the NVC process (yes, we took our foot of the gas and finding it hard to get back on track).

Can anyone tell us if this is normal...

We got our case number at NVC on the 19th February.

We immediately applied for expedite, and our request was sent to London. Meanwhile, NVC generated the fees and barcodes, and we receive an email from them on the 22nd February. The following week, on the 26th February, we learned our expedite was approved, but on the proviso that NVC handled the documentation (they had already generated the fees).

We paid our fees on the 28th February to the NVC, and waited for our last remaining piece of documentation - my police report, (which got lost initially), and we submitted the whole lot to NVC for supervisor assisted processing on the 17th March 2011. We have called daily this week, and NVC say they have no record of our documents as yet. (I suppose it takes a while for the mail room to input them on the system).

Now, the confusing bit....I just called the NVC's AVR, and it says we were sent a packet of info on March 1st (just after we had paid), and that we had to return docs with it. If we don't receive the packet within 6 weeks, we have to contact them.

Is this normal? What packet would they have sent out? Why haven't we gotten it?

We are confused? Can anyone help? Saylin, what is your take on this?

Thanks all...and I hope those interview dates keep rolling in....Posted Image

I believe I know what AVR message you're talking about. Is it: "A packet of information and documents was generated on MONTH DATE, 2011 and will be sent within the next few weeks"? If that's the message you're getting, it means that NVC will be sending you the DS-230 package (possibly the AOS package as well). When I heard that message, I had just gotten the DS-230 information package the night before. You can disregard this AVR message. You have to remember that the AVR is slow to update sometimes and it's not always in sync with where you are in the process.

Yikes!!!! Thanks, I will keep in mind the call logs and not call too often when not needed. Well I don't know what to say. I can't say KEEP calling now lol. For the scheduling on the second week, I don't know, did you mention that others were geting scheduled randomly?

Well, even if you call a lot, I doubt the operators can do anything about it. I want to know about my interview date asap and if that means calling a lot, so be it. It's not like they can stop me from calling. They have to provide me a service and if that means calling everyday about my case, then they should keep their mouths shut and just tell me that no, an interview date hasn't been assigned and move on to the next person holding.

No, I haven't mentioned that other people have been assigned interview dates besides in the second week. I'm sure they'll just deny it or make up some kind of excuse. I should mention it though just to hear what excuse they come up with as it contradicts what they tell everyone about only scheduling in the second week.

Saylin i just called and as per lady everything is In and The case is under final review. Then they will schedule the appointment and forward the docs to the embassy. No CC Yet.

Your case should be complete soon then. Keep calling the AVR, I'm sure it will update this week to when your case is complete.

I'm still waiting for the pay to be available. I wonder what's taking so long.

Apparently they keep some sort of call log, cause the operator mentioned I've been calling a lot this month.

They don't just schedule interviews in the second week. I made myself a spreadsheet (Posted Image) of 2011 interviews for those in Montreal and put case complete dates along with dates when they were notified of their interviews. Not all of them got them in the second week, so I know the operators are lying about scheduling only in the second week.

I don't know how police certificates work in the Philippines, but in Canada our police certificates search a national database, so we only need one police certificate for all of Canada. Perhaps it's different in the Philippines though. You should use the search tool and see how police certificates work in the Philippines.

______IMMIGRANT VISA APPLICATION:__________________________________
Please submit a completed Application for Immigrant Visa and Alien Registration - Biographic Data
form for this applicant. In reviewing the form that you submitted, we note that the section pertaining to
applicant residences from the age of 16 is either blank or incomplete. The applicant must list all places
lived for at least six months since reaching the age of 16. There must not be any gaps greater than six
months. You will need to complete and submit a new form with the changes. Your visa application
cannot be processed until this form is complete.
A gap exists in your residence history of more than six months. When completing the information in
this section, please refer to the following instructions below on Police Certificate(s):
*Police certificates are required for each visa applicant aged 16 years or older, based on where each
applicant lives or has lived previously.
*Police certificates are also required from all other countries where the applicant has resided more than
12 months. Present and former residents of the United States should NOT obtain any police certificates
covering their residence in the U.S.
*Generally, applications for police certificates should be made directly to the police authorities in the
district in which you resided. The police certificate must:
*Cover the entire period of the applicant's residence in that area, and
*State what the appropriate police authorities records show concerning each applicant, including
all arrests, the reason for the arrest(s), and the disposition of each case of which there is a record.

i thought i only need to submit 1 police certificates? does this means that i need to get another NBI/police certiicates from other places where i live here in philippines?

The RFE is for two things. First, it appears you made a mistake on the question about previous addresses. Second is about police certificates. Have you lived anywhere else besides the Philippines?

But looking at your signature, your case was sent out last week. Try getting your wife to call again, maybe even DOS too, and ask the same thing. The operator she spoke to might have given the wrong info.
