hi saylin
what about ur case not completed yet..how much did u stay for reviewing ur case?

Nope, no case complete yet. Operators say to wait 20 business days after sending in packages for it to be reviewed.

Hey Saylin any upates to your case after they received your packages March 3rd? I was looking at timelines from December (during the holidays...?) and packages were recieved and processed within 3-7 days!! I'm going on a week and you're going on a month! Hope for the best for you.

When I called an operator up yesterday, he said that both packages are under review. Finally! Nearly a month for them to receive it and start reviewing. Wow, 3-7 days?! NVC must have had a lot more time on their hands. I guess they're going through a backlog.

So this means :

AOS file + 1 copy of all AOS(NVC)
Second AOS copy to the interview

DS-230 + 1 copy of all DS-230(NVC)
Second DS-230 copy to the interview

I got it wright?

You don't send a copy of the AOS package. The only copies you send in are for the IV package and it's just the civil documents (birth certificate, marriage certificate). They want a copy of those for their records, so if you want your originals/certified copies back, give them a photocopy of just those documents.

USCIS error really is criteria for getting an expedite? Im trying to find it on their website, but no luck so far...how do you even go about asking for this expedite?

I'm not sure if NVC has the same expedite criteria, but here's the list on USCIS: http://www.uscis.gov...00045f3d6a1RCRD The second to last item is USCIS error.

Hey all, just dropping in to see how things are going- congrats to those for whom things are moving along!

I paid my $88 on Saturday and I haven't heard anything yet.

Looking over the i-864ez, I think I'll be delayed by about 2 weeks as I have yet to request my IRS transcripts (even though Saylin told me to do this like a few days ago :innocent: )

Hehe, get on it :P There's a reason why I told you to order them.

Maybe we should have a FAQ on this or something and it's hard for me to look through all the forum to find an answer to this question :)

I got my NOA2 approval on Feb 17th and I called the automatic service at NVC today and they are still saying that my USCIS case number is not in the system. I got transferred to texas and back to california so I believe I was sent from CSC.

Who should I call and can anyone be kind enough to give me an email or ph number for CSC or TSC or NVC? I really appreciate it in advance

I don't know about CSC or TSC, but NVC's phone number is 603-334-0700. Press 1 for English and then 5 for an operator.

Hi & good morning to all,

I just realized that the pictures my husband took ar not 2x2, does anyone know if that will be an issue....? they're 1.5 x 1.5....

I'm thinking it might be. I know USCIS doesn't mind if the size is wrong since I had submitted a Canadian size picture and they accepted it. NVC, on the other hand, might issue an RFE. So save a few weeks because of a RFE and take the extra day to get the right sizes from your husband.

Hi saylin. in ur sheet NVC Processing Times. DTC ..D means date NVC received. received what ? our files..or we received our case#.
what did u get in ur case do u call the operator today. Good Luck
i have paid AOS bill yesterday and status still in process

I take the date NVC assigns a case number. Some people don't have this in their signatures, so I then take the date that NVC receives their file.

I've updated my signature with all the new dates.
You do already have me on the sheet though.
Thanks Saylin!

Thanks for adding the signature! I wanted to update the CSC to TSC transfer spreadsheet, so I can update the statistics for receiving case numbers. Posted Image

Guys..we paid our AOS bill on 3rd March & were shown the IN PROCESS message until 4th. However post this we are getting SIF on the NVC payment portal since yesterday. Don't know what could have caused this!! We had asked for an expedite at NVC so don't know that may be the reason for this :help: :bonk: !! Any idea!!

There have been a lot of people getting that fake SIF message. I'd just wait another day and see if it's still there. Call an operator up on Monday and inquire if you still can't log in.

Yep my letter's legit.

I'm working on the I-864 cover letter... in the VJ template, adjacent to "your name", they write "[SPONSOR].

Is the template clarifying that this should be my name and not my wife's or am I to literally write "[SPONSOR]" after my name in the address area?

I'm not sure what template you're using, but this is an exact copy of our I-864 cover letter:

Thanks so much for your input, I was thinking along the same lines.

Yes, I have been using my parents' address up till now out of convenience, and I'm thinking of continuing to do so.

Thanks again :)

You should be fine with still using your parents address, since, if you give your email addresses over to NVC, then you won't be receiving anything in the snail mail anyways. As long as NVC has some address, they'll be happy :P

Not shore, but I see that only cover sheet must be sent to NVC.Seems to me that receipt is not necessary and someone correct me if I am wrong.

You're correct. NVC only wants the document cover sheet found on the payment portal after a bill appears as PAID.

Looks like I (my wife) will pay the $404 at the Embassy but no mention of paying the $88 AOS in any of the documents provided by the Embassy. Read the Packet III & IV two times and did not see it. Fortunately, my insurance will cover her physical.........too bad that wasn't the case when my son was in a remote hospital multiple times.

Since you're working with an embassy abroad, you won't have to pay the $88 fee. Read the section 'filing fee' here for the I-864: http://www.uscis.gov...00045f3d6a1RCRD The $88 bill is only for those that didn't get expedited and the AOS is reviewed at NVC.

It has been 15 days since my NOA2, my case is "in the building" but I still don't have an NVC number. After being told to wait 15 days they just tell me to wait "another week, another 2 weeks, etc.". I feel like I'm back at the Texas Service Center. Is there anything I can do? Or do I just have to wait it out like TSC?

Thanks for any help, kind regards

There's still a lot of people that got approved before you that are still waiting for a case number as well. You can check the spreadsheet to see. Unfortunately, yes, I think you're just going to have to wait until the case gets inputted into their system. Keep calling NVC twice a day.

HaHaHa............................15 minutes after posting the above, my wife calls and tell me the Embassy called her!!!

She has her interview on March 18th at 7 AM, WoooooHoooooo She is so excited, I had to tell her to slow down because I had no idea what she was saying. She said they have sent her an email as well so i logged into her account and there were three, one for Packet 3, one for Packet 4 and the important one:

Dear Applicant:

Please pay close attention to the Instructions for Medical Examination required for all intending immigrants and evidence of relationship. Those members of the applicant's family, listed below, must appear at the Embassy on the above appointment date. Now I have to package the remaining paperwork from my end, review the link that they sent her in an email for the documents that she need to download, print and fill out. I'll have to overnight documents this weekend to Thailand........

I am going to hold off paying NVC for now, looks like I'll have to pay via the Embassy or it will be "overlooked"..................hmmmmmmmm, that would be nice.

Are they really going to be home in a few weeks???

Guys, I've a query regarding AOS. As per LingChe's Shortcut & Loto's guide following docs are required while submitting the AOS to NVC. My concern is - if the petitioner does not have a Letter of Employment, would the Pay Stubs be fine!? or is Letter of Employment a must!?

LingChe:
AOS Packet
a. Bar-coded cover sheet
b. Completed and signed form I-864 by the petitioner
c. IRS tax transcripts for the last three years
(Call IRS at 800-908-9946 to order them for free)
d. Petitioner's employment letter
e. Petitioner's pay stubs for the current year

Loto:
When status of the AOS shows as PAID (online): Print the barcode and include it in your AOS package which are:

. BARCODED Cover Sheet (to be printed from web when your status is PAID online for AOS bill)
. Your OWN cover sheet listing what documents are in the package, so they're easy for the reviewer to locate
. Completed I-864 signed
. Original Employment Letter
. Most recent tax return (all forms)
. Copy of PAY STUBS for current year (showing how much money you have made year to date)
. Last 3 years Tax transcripts, W-2 and/or 1099 (any source of income) OPTIONAL
SPONSOR: I-864 + all above documents for sponsor. Each sponsor that lives in the same household as the petitioner, should use I-864a, instead of I-864
Make 2 extra copies of this package. Send 1 copy to the beneficiary

It's not mandatory. But it's a good idea to send something in to show proof of current income (such as 2010 tax returns, employment letter, pay stubs, bank statements). My husband hasn't filed yet for 2010 taxes, so he submitted an employment letter and I believe it was 8 months of pay stubs.

Saylin,

I am not sure I undertood correctly but Darnell seem to suggest
sending AOS and DS_230 together after IV fee PAID:
http://www.visajourn...67#entry4515267

First time I saw this and I am too late! But that may explain your delay too,
hoping this is not true though

As far as I know, sending the packages in separate or together doesn't make a difference. If it does, I need someone to explain to me why that would.

As for myself, it's kind of impossible for me to send both packages at the same time since I'm doing EP. I can't exactly put them in the same envelope :P

I only have a Certified Copy of beneficiary's birth certificate ? would that be enough ?

Rest all are original ( Marriage ceritficate , Passport pcc )

That's fine. It has to either be the original OR certified copy. I submitted a certified copy of my birth certificate since I don't know where my original is, never seen it.

tina, for what its worth, I got that same email that you got and it was in response to my question about the NVC case number, not the DS 3032. Like I said, I dont know if that email means they accepted you or not..seems pretty generic to be the DS-3032 acceptance, but I am not really sure what that exactly looks like.

It shouldn't cause a problem if you send it a second time. Just don't start sending like fifty of them.

dont understand why it is taking this long to receive a dang email from NVC..yeah im getting impatient after the hell at USCIS lol

here is some good news for all of us:

In a step to avert a government shutdown before the current funding measure expires later this week, the House has passed a two-week spending bill would cut federal spending by $4 billion.

The vote was 335-91, with six Republicans opposing the GOP-authored measure. On the other side of the aisle, 104 Democrats voted for it, while 85 voted against the bill.

The Republican-backed stopgap bill was considered palatable by many Democrats because it drew on suggestions made by President Barack Obama in his budget for this year.

The Senate is expected to approve the bill within the next two days, giving lawmakers an additional two weeks to negotiate a longer-term measure to fund the government.

That is excellent news. Hopefully they can resolve it soon, so none of us have to worry about this affecting our visa process.
