When I login to NVC payment system with the Petitioner ID given to me. I can see a line for AOS and a line for IV bill. I have already paid the AOS bill. The IV bill is still blank. Yesterday we received an email recepit that they processed the change of agent form. Should I look for the IV bill on the Petitioner's Online Payment Account or the Beneficiary's payment account? I cannot even login to the Beneficiary's payment account with the ID that they gave me.

You should be able to log in as both the petitioner and principal applicant with the case number and IIN. I can. The bill should appear on both accounts. The IV bill should be appearing soon since they accepted your DS-3032.

I saw some of you (sarah) sent in the AOS packet before the IV bill was generated. Are they waiting for that before generating the IV bill? I thought I would just send in both IV and AOS package in the same shipment when both are paid.

You can send in both packages at the same time. They don't generate the bill after getting the AOS package, they generate it after the DS-3032 has been accepted. Don't worry about it.

Saylin.... you ever considered becoming a moderator, or better yet... working for USUCKS? Show-off !!! Of course, I'm just kidding with you. You are AWESOME!!

How does one even become a moderator? Posted Image

And I would love to work for USCIS (aka USUCKS) as I'm pretty sure I'm more competent than all of them and can process a heck of a lot more petitions than they do! Posted Image

Called tonight NVC and got Case # from operator but they have not finished entering the information so could not get e-mails and said to wait couple of days. Automated system still does not recoginse the uscis case#. Approved 2/15 and shipped to NVC 2/18.

Grats on getting the case number! Call back again tomorrow to see if they've finished entering your case, so you can give your email addresses.

No one's gotten an interview date yet. I know Wade got an expedite approved, so his documents were sent to the embassy, so he should be getting an interview date soon.

hey guys! i havent posted in a while but ive been reading along!
Saylin i got my NVC number on March 1st so u can update the spread sheet.
I have a question... Do you guys need 2 numbers 2 pay the fee at nvc or u can just pay right away when u get ur NVC number? Or do u need like a password also or something else?

Grats! Updating the spreadsheet now!

You do need two numbers: NVC case number and IIN (Invoice ID Number). You can get the IIN from the operator.

I'm sure this has probably been asked a hundred times,,, but how do you receive your NVC case number? Do they automatically e-mail it to you once it's created at NVC ?

There's three ways:

-Through the AVR
-From an operator
-First correspondence from NVC

Got my 3rd/final NOA2 today in the mail. I think the next step is to expect a bill from NVC for the visa fees. Does that sound right? I hope it doesn't take forever + 1 day for that! :o

I never got an email for a bill.

My first email from NVC was the initial information package. It has your case number and IIN on it, plus a very out-dated DS-3032, along with some information about NVC.

My second and last email from NVC was information on the DS-230 and a bar-coded cover sheet.

According to my AVR, the AOS package was generated on Feb 9, but I have yet to receive this email.

thanks for the tip about IE, sucks that it also has the least amount of security

Yeah, I'm not a fan of IE, but government sites are designed for IE and that's what works best.

ok , i have a question, i tried to pay the AOS but , said it was rejected but when i close the browser and re-enter to the page , say in process but in the receip said rejected what i did wrong?

I have no idea. I'd call an operator up and ask about that. Remember, whenever you pay bills, use Internet Explorer. It has the least amount of problems with the payment portal since it was designed for IE.

Bad news and good news...
Good one - I have the NVC number.
Bad one - They messed up again.
I tried to get INN, I gave the operator my husband's birthday (which I cannot forget, it's one week before mine), and imagine - he told me that I was wrong! I said that I could not be wrong on that, I repeated the info - he became angry and said he could not provide any info :crying: Again... He was rude so I asked him to transfer me to another operator. The next operator was very helpful, he told me that indeed my husband's birthday was probably entered incorrectly and that I need to scan the first page of his passport and email them. I'm so upset. Such a nice beginning of the day... and then same old sh... When will they stop treating our documents like plain paper??? Tired...

Grats on the number, but boo on them for inputting wrong :(

ohh im sorry , by the way , im no yelling to anybody,:)

and i called yesterday to give my husband's email and one lady told me the i can not add or made changes because im not authorized, it has to be the petitioner. im just saying what they telling me.

Well, they're wrong. I'm the beneficiary and I call all the time. Never had a problem. Either the petitioner, beneficiary, or agent can call. You have complete authorization.

OMG SO I HAVE TO CALL AND ASK THE OPERATOR FOR THE INVOICE INFORMATION NUMBER? THAT MEANS IIN RIGHT? MAYBE THEY DIDNT GIVE ME THAT BEACOUSE IM NO THE PETITIONER RIGHT?

Ok, first off, please stop writing in caps, it's killing me and no one likes being yelled at.

If you haven't gotten the first initial package from NVC, then you can get the IIN from an operator. And it means nothing that you're not the petitioner. I'm the beneficiary and I'm the one calling an operator up each not day, not my husband, the petitioner. And I was able to get the IIN without a problem.

You sign into the payment portal with your case number and IIN. Then you'll see the two bills. If they're available to be paid, they'll say something like INVOICED or NOT PAID.

I went ahead and called NVC last night just for the heck of it. The AVR had no record and I spoke with a CSR and no record, he said I need to wait on the email/mail stating it's been transferred to NVC before I call because that's when they will have received.

However, because of VJ I know that is a piece of bull he's serving me, because the whole system is *ss-backwards. I'll call maybe the end of the week or next.

I'd call the AVR if I were you every day and then an operator again on Friday.

hi jennie, you paid already? i got my case # on feb 25 , but they didnt send me yet the invoice, what should i have to do?

If the AOS is appearing in the payment portal, pay it. Don't wait. I never got any emails about paying bills. If you wait, you're going to be waiting a very long time.

These dumb emails are still being sent out, now they are claiming to have sent cases back to TSC? Is this some kind of game?!? I truly don't think it's anything to be worried about, but then again having been through what we have, it keeps us on edge. We just don't know what to think!

I have a question. Do I have to wait for an email stating they have transferred our case to the Department of State before calling NVC? I know I just got approved on Friday so I was thinking to give it a week or so before I called...is that good?

You can start calling whenever the heck you feel like it!

So here is an interesting thing we have learned today from our lawyer after having our I-130 approved at the USCIS and on our way to the NVC side of the world. Basically what we were told is that we do not have to wait for any USCIS letter to arrive in the mail. Instead, we will be getting an email in about 1-2 weeks directly from NVC with instructions for paying the fees and what documents NVC will require from us to submit. This is particularly interesting, as there is no need to wait for any hard copy letters, nor any need to call NVC. I only wonder how does NVC know our email address, but it makes me think that when our lawyer submitted all documents for I-130, they must have submitted The Choice of Agent form that NVC will use immediately. Anyone sees any flaws in this thinking process? It looks good to me and I'd take it! Any thoughts? Thanks!

If you have a lawyer, he or she is automatically designated as the agent, so no DS-3032 is generated for you. Another bonus for having a lawyer is that both bills are generated at the same time, so you save a few days instead of waiting for the IV bill to appear.

Hi there
ok well well me and my wife we are trying to get some paper work ready here for whatever is next
but i have one question on the (Original police certificate(s)) of the beneficiary ( which i think here in Mexico is call antecedentes no penales ) and some of the people here from Mexico
where can you get it and you also have to translate it to English ? thank you in advance

According to http://travel.state....1.html?cid=3622 there are no police records available to Mexico Posted Image I'd ask an operator specifically about this. Have you searched the Mexico portal here on VJ for information?

Also, if you have any documents not in English, you have to provide the original/certified copy not in English plus translations. From http://travel.state..../info_3195.html:

Translation Requirements

All documents not written in English, or in the official language of the country in which application for a visa is being made, must be accompanied by certified translations and submitted to the NVC. The translation must include a statement signed by the translator stating that the:

  • Translation is accurate, and
  • Translator is competent to translate.

Saylin - I am sure this must be covered somewhere, but what advantage would EP give you, besides the known one - quick turnaround? And how do we know which countries participate in it, or is now only Canada and Mexico? Thanks! You are our domain subject matter expert!

I don't know what you mean by 'quick turnaround'. Those doing EP spend about the same amount of time in NVC as those not doing EP. It might have been faster at the beginning when EP was first introduced because there were less emails for NVC to work on, but now there's quite a few countries eligible for EP.

It's not just Canada and Mexico, there's a few others. Link to eligible countries for EP and online forms: http://travel.state..../info_5165.html (table at bottom)

Some pros:

-completely free, compared to paying a bunch of money to send the AOS and IV packages
-NVC receives the email pretty much instantly, instead of a few days compared to snail mail
-the packages can't be lost during a snowstorm or by any other means (I've read stories of FedEx or UPS just randomly losing packages)
-if you find out about an RFE, you can instantly email them what they want
-the consulate/embassy will instantly receive your documents after a CC (this is very good for those that are backed up by mail like Montreal)

Of course, there is a major con as well. You don't get any acknowledgment that NVC actually received your package by email. Yes, you get an auto-response email after you send it, but your email can still be lost within their email servers. As of last Friday, the operator told me they still hadn't received/reviewed my packages and suggested I re-send them (which I did). If NVC can send some kind of email from a real person that NVC did indeed get your package and is now connected with your case, then EP would pretty much be perfect.

lucas, your country is not participating in EP, only China, Mexico, Canada, and Uzbekhistan I believe.

Turkmenistan, actually. You were close :P

Hello VJ Family...so i got a case number.. what do I do now> who can i find the next steps. I did my wife's country qualifies for Electronic Processing.. what do I do now?

If you have your case number, call an operator up and ask for the IIIN and give over your email addresses. Then email the template for the DS-3032. Go on the payment portal and if the AOS bill is invoiced, pay it. If your wife is going through the Cuidad Juarez embassy and you have a case number starting with MEP, then yes, you're eligible for EP.

waitingondLord... when was your I-130 approved? Did you get your NVC number today?

You can find that information by looking at their timeline. They got their case number on 2/25.

It was approved last Wed, I waw feeling so miserable those later days, and the Monkeys knew I was approved

The Monkeys, besides pushing random buttons for people, are also very slow on sending approval letters. Four days later you find out you're approved. Silly Monkeys Posted Image

Congrats to the recent approvals...............

I fired off an email to the Visa Unit at the US Embassy in Bangkok to get some clarification on what my next step is. To me this isn't clear? Has our petition been forwarded to the Embassy or just a request? From the Congressional Liaison at NVC:

Thank you for your email dated February 22, 2011. The National Visa Center (NVC) received the immigrant visa petition filed by Wade Scott Grant on behalf of Kampong Pinongram and assigned case number BNK**********. The attached expedite request was forwarded to the U.S. Embassy in Bangkok, Thailand for review. Mr. Grant will be notified when a response is received.

I hate this whole damn process, such a cluster f**k.

It seems like NVC received your expedite request and they're now sending it to the embassy and they'll approve or deny your expedite. If it's approved, NVC will be notified and send your case along to the embassy.
