Can not add beneficiary to checking acct.,I tried, they are asking social security number and they don't have yet.

That makes sense. I'm not on my husband's bank account yet, so I didn't know they require an SSN.

Hi Saylin:)

Would like to ask if IIN is only for EP only, or even for us who's country not qualified for EP will be needing IIN?
Also once you have NVC number, can you call NVC right after and give your email add and get IIN? and can you email the DS3032 without instructions?
Once you have IIN even no instructions from NVC can you pay the AOS and IV bill once its already generated?

Am sorry for the questions, my cousin's friend got their NVC number last night and when they tried to get the IIN the operator told them they cant have it because they are not qualified for EP coz their from Philippines. SO because of what happened they don't want to call again at NVC and email the DS3032 thinking that it may cause another delay to them. And the NVc emailed them to wait for 6-8 weeks for instructions, arrrrgggghhh

Me myself still waiting for my NVC number so i can't answer them. thanks

IIN is not just for EP, it's for everyone. You need this number to sign in the payment portal. And yes, as soon as you have your case number, you can call NVC right away and give your email addresses and get the IIN from the operator. And yes, you can email the DS-3032 without waiting for NVC to send instructions. Again, yes, you can pay the AOS and IV bills once they're generated. You won't get any prompt from NVC to pay them.

What happened to your friend is ridiculous. IIN is required by EVERYONE. You cannot sign onto the payment portal without it. Tell them to call an operator again and ask for the "Invoice Identification Number", don't say "IIN", the operator might get confused. Tell them to email the DS-3032 asap because they're allowed to and it won't cause delays.

oh yeah I forgot I had sent the plane tickets too from maybe 5-6 trips either my wife visiting me or me visiting her,,, I am thinking of filing tax papers with her name on it and maybe add her to my cheking out,,, wow this cought me off guard,, I wasn't expecting this

The tax returns would be a good idea as well as adding her to your checking account. Hopefully that and your affidavits will appease the officers.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresCalifornia to Texas & Texas to California - Part 2

I just received the RFE in the mail today and they want me to submit evidence to establish the marriage is bona fide. I am furious!!!!! I sent 2 dozen pictures from several different cities with me and my wife. I send cell phone bills showing all the phone calls between us. I sent my marriage certificate. What else do they need??? I am not living with my wife helloooo!! How am I suppose to have the following?

*Documentation showing joint ownership or property
*A lease showing joint tenancy of a common residence
*Birth certificate of children born
*Affidavit sworn to by 3rd parties
*Any other relevant documentation to establish that there is an ongoing marital relationship

I am not living with my wife! Helllooooooo How am I suppose to have a lease or property??? We don't have children yet! So I am now freaked out!!! I will get 2 affidavits from 2 people (relative or friends) does it matter who I get it from? What else can I include??? I thought the telephone statements and the pictures from several different trips would have been enough. I can't even prove that my marriage is bona fide! Please help people I don't know what to send.

I HATE OFFICER # XM 1117 !!!!!

Um, wow. Posted Image It's really ridiculous that they want proof when you're not even living together. All my husband and I sent were a few pictures, plane tickets, and of course the marriage certificate. Absolutely ridiculous RFE.

I don't know what to suggest for you besides the affidavits. I'd send more phone bills if you have any, and other records if you have of your communication (IM, Skype, texts, etc). This might help to show your marriage is still on-going. If you have any more recent pictures since you sent in the I-130... I really don't know what else you can send...

congrats to everyone who is getting approved.

I got my approved notice and it says now it has sent to NVC.
NVC will contact the petitioning(beneficiary) concerning further processing.

it also says...the approval of this visa application does not itself grant any immigration status
and does not guarantee that the alien beneficiary will subsequently be found to be eligible for a visa, for admission to the US or an extension change or adjustment of status. ( should I be worried about this last paragraph)

Don't be worried, it's standard in all NOAs. They just want you to understand that this approval doesn't guarantee anything in the future.

I'm back guys. I see no approvals. I am sad :( I was hoping to be busy filling the spreadsheet with pink and purple colors.

Congratulations to all USCIS approvals, NVC shimpments and case numbers. Just received email with IIN, BIN, AOS bill and DS-3032. Paid AOS fee and emailed DS-3032. So, this question is for anyone that has used the email template for the DS-3032. Are we still required to send in the actual form in addition to the email? Thanks in advance!

You don't have to attach or send in the actual form. Just fill out the information in the body of the email and that's it.

night time def. seems like the best time to call NVC...I called yesterday at about 1030 ET and spoke to an operator within 1 minute. Congrats!

I called at 5:17pm EST today and was less than a minute. I was shocked. Fastest time ever. I've been calling around 5:10pm all week and it's taking about 5 minutes. But today surprised me. I barely had time to register I was on hold before an operator came on.

Why were you denied?

First time was my own damn fault. I wasn't a member of VJ at the time and knew nothing about visas. I had just spent the summer with my husband in the USA and came back to Canada for a week. I thought that I could just go back to the USA and adjust my status there to get a green card. The officer kindly told me that was not legal and that I had to apply for a spousal visa. I also remember him telling me it would only take about 4 months. If that were true, I should have been in the USA at Christmas Posted Image

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresCalifornia to Texas & Texas to California - Part 2

question to everyone here...Is it possible to fill out the NVC forms for my wife with her married name, even if it has not been legally changed in her country nor in the US AND all I-130 paperwork was filled out under her maiden name? Would that ensure that her greencard would be under my last name or would it do nothing because her passport still shows her maiden name? To change her name in Colombia, it is rather long and it would not be my last name...it would be "DE *mylastnamehere*" so not my last name because of the DE part..anyone have any ideas on this?

My two cents:

Honestly, I'd keep filing out the paperwork in her maiden name. When I got denied last August, the immigration officer explained to me what visa I had to apply for, and one thing I remember, he suggested and highly recommended that I stay consistent with all my forms for my last name. Don't switch it up now. NVC might get confused that suddenly your wife has a different last name and there will be no documents to support it her new change. Plus, I'm not sure if what you're suggesting is legal since your wife hasn't legally changed her last name.

What I'm going to do, I'm waiting until I apply for US citizenship to legally change my last name in the US. I hear that the best time to legally change your last name to your married one is when getting naturalized. But of course, this depends if your wife wants to be a US citizen and if you and her want to wait that long.

I received an email saying that I got transferred to an USCIS office for a second time.. my signature below explains it all.

On a positive note, I guess someone is messing with my file.

Hi Saylin - Another question from me... I've now paid the $88 and the $404 bills, completed the DS-261 and waiting for my DS-260 to appear so I can complete that. I did the optin email already as well. How about the 864 form though? You completed it and emailed all the info for the AOS already... will I receive the 864 and be prompted to complete it, or do I just complete it without being asked and email the form and all AOS documentation at this point?

Grats on your progress! Once the IV bill appears as paid, the DS-260 will become available. While you're waiting, I highly suggest checking out some screenshots: http://www.docstoc.c...60-screen-shots. More information is asked then on the DS-230. It took me a few hours to gather the additional information.

For the I-864, I have yet to receive any I-864 documents from NVC. And it's been almost 2 weeks since our AOS bill appeared as PAID. My husband just filled out the form from USCIS's website. Don't wait for NVC to send you anything. Stay proactive. If the AOS bill has appeared as PAID, then send your AOS package by email if it's complete.

If you have any other questions, don't hesitate to ask ;)

Thanx! Is it really faster to do it this way? Or do u think it takes longer for them to respond 2 emails? do u think it would be faster to just do speedy mail( next day dilivery)?

I would think it's faster since NVC receives your packages immediately by email, and not the next day, 2 days, or 3 days later if you send it by mail. Plus, if you get an RFE, you can instantly send it by email. They do take awhile to respond to the optin email for EP though. I sent mine on the 1st and I still haven't received an acceptance. But if you're going through the Cuidad Juarez consulate, you actually don't have a choice if you want to do EP or not, it's required according to NVC.

Saylin u have been doing EP right? how effective is that and how long is it taking you? I remember i said before something about direct filing with councel... i think i was wrong and my lawyer meant to say EP... sorry for the confusion guys. Im really upset with her because it seems as if shes not p much effort into my case. she said it could take up 2 3 more months 2 get my interview... when it shouldnt be that long anymore should it? i mean, not if we get our case number from NVC this week right?

Yes, I've been doing EP and the online forms which are required in Canada. I had all my documents sent within one week of getting a case number. I'm still waiting for SIF and CC, so I can't really comment on how fast/effective it is. I'm currently at 15 days in NVC so far.

I remember when you mentioned your lawyer saying something about that and I immediately thought EP, but wasn't sure. Check this table at the bottom: http://travel.state..../info_5165.html If your consulate is Cuidad Juarez, then you're REQUIRED to do EP and it looks like you're also REQUIRED to do the online forms.
