Its been 7 months already and looking like many more for our NOA2, we are at the Washington DC office, as are thousands of others and they are still saying its gonna be at least another 6 months  just for NOA2!

If i were to apply for AOS on my next US visit, whats the time frame and process to receiving GC ?

Thanks

Who did you talk to? Did they say six more months on top of your already 7? We have similar PD and same FO so I'm getting worried too.

I am assuming that since my file was in Wash DC (confirmed via info pass), maybe they approve it at the field offices and send it over to the NBC which triggers this message? The NBC then formally approves it and sends the NOA2 letter. Again, this is just my speculation. I hope its a good message tho :S

Hello frends,

I have completed my interview for IR/CR US visa n 16th July 2013 @ kathmandu/Nepal US Embassy . At that time the handed me white paper which states my medical report is pending as i was ask to take smear test for detecting TB.

To day, I received all my report and IOM said they have submitted reports to Embassy too. Online status check is showing

"Your visa case is currently undergoing necessary administrative processing. This processing can take several weeks. "

Does anyone know how long will it take get visa approval?

Thank you so much in advance.

It's alarming to hear our consulate has started handing out AP! What is your situation now?

All the best!

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsMissing My Husband

Unfortunately the entire process can be quite a waiting game. I have my NOA1 PD of Jan 30 2013 and when I put that date (back then) into VJ, my estimated approval date was April 20. LOL!

Both of us believed we would be done in April and move on to NVC, finish up in couple months and me be with her by her birthday in August.

It's almost August and no NOA2. We have just decided it isnt worth the frustration of checking everyday to see when we get approved so we focus on other aspects like planning where to live, what to get for the apartment, bills, insurance, food recipes, whether I buy a PS4 or no. The list is endless my friend. I wish we could get approved soon but that is not something in anybody's hands.

We have seen people get approved in 30-50 days of NOA2 and had always hoped we would not cross the 200 day mark! Well, here we stand at the 180 day mark and thinking another 20 days is nothing.

Don't worry. It will get approved soon. The wait only ripens the love.

Hello all,

I got an email saying:

USCIS case status shows the same message.

However, today in the mail a letter comes saying the I-130 has been approved. But on USCIS its still this message. So a little confused whether to be happy or not because it says case sent to appellate body for review.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsProcessing of I-130s at Field Offices

Anyone know how processing times of I-130s at field offices compare to waiting time at NBC? I've read some posts that say field offices take an average of 5 months after they receive the file.

I filed an I-130 for my spouse. I received an NOA1 on January 14, 2013. My file was transferred from the NBC to the Santa Ana field office on February 27, 2013, in case anyone has any specific experience.

Thanks!

Hello!

You can check how many petitions are being processed at your local office here. It seems to be around 3500. I think thats quite a load, but then again, how fast they process also depends on how many people they have employed at that office. You will see that bigger offices have higher petitions (obviously), but to get a better estimate of how soon its going to be processed, I think you have to consider what is the adjudicator
to petition ratio. In other words, how many petitions is one adjudicator handling in your local office!

That too is just a guess :)

Kale and Dalli- did you ever find out if it was an actual approval? I hope so! Congrats! My priority date is feb 5 and it is now 7 months. I have gotten both senators involved, been to 2 info pass appts, and will go to another one on Monday. And i have been told to keep waiting. My husband is here visiting on his visitors visa. I am wondering if he can attend the InfoPass appt with me. Maybe if they see faces of a husband and wife it will pull at their heart strings that we are still separated. Haha. I don't know I will try ANYTHING. Wishing luck to all who are waiting!

Hi kmg617,

Yes! I did get approved 3 days after my 2nd info pass! My wife had gone there and she came back a little disheartened, but she said that she saw the 1st infopass' I130 supervisor. It could have been that he saw her and realized he had promised something but forgotten and went ahead with it later.

The approval notification on USCIS was a a bit confusingly worded, but 5 days after that we got noa2 in the mail.

I hope everyone's approvals come through very soon. It really drives one nuts to just sit around doing nothing but waiting.

But look here... the member got the same message and it was an approval  http://www.visajourn...ody-for-review/

Same here http://www.visajourn...pproved-or-not/  (look at the timeline for the outcome)

Fingers crossed and keep us posted! smile.png

At least its somewhat comforting to know that! My wife had gone for two infopasses, and in the 1st one the I130 supervisor had taken down our receipt number and said something along the lines of "right now we're swamped but ill see that you get adjudicated next month" so we waited a month and a half and nothing, and had the 2nd infopass.

This time it was another iso, who wasn't as promising as the first guy. However the 1st guy (supervisor) had come in while my wife was talking to the other lady and they exchanged greetings. Not sure if he recognized her or not, but nothing was promised in the 2nd infopass. This was on August 20. 4 days later we get this email.

I highly suggest keeping track via phone and infopasses. For some reason, I believe, when they see an actual person, maybe they will realize that the heap of papers on the desk are worth so much to the petitioners/beneficiaries.

All the best Blueberry Pancakes.

It still is on initial review but from what I gather from the case status it means they have sent it to some other office for review?

Is anyone familiar with this letter? Is it safe to assume the best, that I'm approved?

Another update...

I went again to an InfoPass. The IO I spoke with was much nicer and friendlier. He said that their office follows the timeline of the Vermont office. He said that this means they are on December or January and for me to make another appointment if I don't hear by Sept 1. Anyone prior to Februrary approved yet?

Vermont is at 7.4 months.

Uscis Goal was 5 months.

Uscis average is 13.5 months.

Not that I would know everyone who has their files in DC Office, but mine is, and I always keep an eye out. So far 0. :(

Someone in one of the threads mentioned that he heard back from his senator saying the office was currently processing August.

I'm on the four month mark hovering on the five. So far I have not encountered anyone from our field office who have gotten approved quickly. This is kind of depressing that to an already long processes we have to wait longer because of the gigantic backlog that has piled up on the Fairfax office.

According to the trend chart it doesnt look like its gonna get any better. I'm bracing myself for a total of 10 months from NOA1 to the end of this wait. As for how I'm gonna keep myself sane, that is still a work in progress.

Cheers!

I got an email saying it is 'pending at the Washington Field office'. Any idea what this means? Are they processing it, or is it being shelved so that they can finish their current batch?

My status changed to not paid as well. Also on the receipts page it showed 'REJECTED'. So my wife paid again (online) after confirming with NVC cust service that she will not get charged twice.

Now I have an 'IN PROGRESS' as well as a transaction ID that has been applied to that status.

We have already sent in the IV package and its got delivery confirmed.

She sent in the IV via FedEx and its gonna reach there tomorrow. Now I'm wondering how to fill out the DS 260 since it isn't yet available online. Hopefully things will change soon!

For AOS, when we paid the $88, a transaction ID was generated the moment we paid. However, for IV, its been 8 days and still no Transaction ID. Does anyone think its a glitch? Maybe we should call them?

i dont have a transaction ID on my IV the receipt. NVC saying different things, one said that they are aware of the problem, others they dont know whats goin on.

Some suggest to send the check but others said just to wait until it is fixed!!!. very frustrating as there are no definite resolution to the problem..

Yah I know its frustrating. I think we should wait for them to fix as I don't think it will take longer than 2 weeks to fix (because thats how long it takes were we to send money order or check).

I have told my wife to call NVC first thing tomorrow morning to see if they're having tech problem with transaction ID.

Will keep you guys updated.

You paid yours on OCT 7 @ 6:30p, I paid on OCT 7 @ 9p. Yours has a transaction ID, mine does not, but we both are stuck in "IN PROGRESS".

Hi!

We are in the same situation. We paid IV fees 07-OCT-2013 20:59  and its been almost 8 days and its still on "progress". I think it has something to do with the government shutdown.

As for sending via check/money order,  its gonna take too long. I suggest to wait until shutdown is over because what if the payment department is closed until government is back up.

My wife called them today morning and they said it takes between 3 - 5 business days. Today is our 5th business day (not counting weekends and Columbus day).

Hope the status changes soon!

I have waited for almost 8 months now....My husband is from NYC. On uscis.gov website, still shows "On DEC 24th, we received this I130 IMMIGRANT PETITION FOR RELATIVE......." It didn't say anything about transfer to NYC feild office. So we are not sure my application is still in NBC or in NY feild office. We just feel like it takes forevercrying.gif

It really sucks that we have to wait so long. When I started my journey in January, I had hoped to get NOA2 by April 15 and be in the States in order to celebrate her birthday in August. Yesterday I wished her happy birthday on Skype. lol.

Guess you could think about it this way now. The longer you wait, the closer you are to getting approved!
