US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionIs anyone else stuck in "ready" status? Jamaica

I hope you get an update soon too.

I emailed them last night and actually got a response this morning. It says, this case is currently undergoing administrative processing. When this process is complete, contact will be made.

Please ensure that the applicant is registered with DHL so that the package can be delivered as soon as the visa is issued.

Hope this information is useful to you.

If the applicant would like to speak with a consular officer about the case he may schedule a beneficiary interview.

Of course I replied stating it isn't feasible to make an appt/interview because the embassy is a 4 hr drive away but I would like to know why my status still states refused instead of AP?

I will keep you all posted

Mine has been refused since 17 Sept 2013. The status update has changed several times but that's it. According to NVC it's still in AP

Well ladies, I dont want to keep bringing others down so I wont post again until I see/hear good news.

I swear im gonna remember this case number for life after all this...like its my social, lol.

You aren't bringing me down at all. Although I feel for your situation, it's comforting to know I'm not the only one waiting and wondering

Has anyone contacted the Embassy and was able to talk to someone or were you directed to just email them?

I called NVC....they not seeing nothing. All they could tell me is that they just not done reviewing my case. #######? How can you approve someone but take a month and longer to do final processing. Hell, im not even in final stages let them tell it....smh...

They wont take your call. I dealt with that a year ago. When you try and pressure the person on the phone, they just connect you to an automated message giving you the email address.

As for emailing. I have no idea what the heck! It's as if each department doesn't communicate progress. An example was from a post I read where the petitioner emailed and the response stated their case is still under review and it could be a few more weeks, yet status changed just 2 days later to issued. If you email them, I can almost guarantee you're going to get the same general response given before. What confuses me is how long they take to respond.

NVC also cannot give you any information. All they have is a computer screen that only gives them the same information we already have. I know they can view the email thread between us and the embassy.

I agree with you that it makes no sense what is taking so long and why we aren't privy to what part of our petition is holding the process up. Obviously, not all petitions take this long since one of our other fellow case members that had their interview same day, got their visa last Friday 5 Sept.

I truly wish there was something I could tell you to relieve the anxiety as I am also feeling the pressure.

I hope ur right :)

I was getting mad checking the JA forum seeing those who had interviews after us already get their visa....but I had to check myself. There is a reason for the wait.....only God knows.

The problem I have is my strong belief we have a right to know. God isn't the only one who knows, the reviewing officer knows. I just want to be able to purchase my plane ticket and plan our wedding as this time of the year there's so much going on with holidays etc. I'm so anxious its killing me

I have a strong feeling one, two or hopefully all of us get word this next week. islandbabes had their interview on 8 Aug and received the visa 5 Sept. I wish we could know why they got theirs and none of us did.

Sheldon girl, I was in Jamaica last week to bring Roger home. We were staying at the Riu in Negril. I was wondering if your fiance works there? Roger and I were talking to Sheldon (Roger is friends with him) ......very nice guy. I talked with Sheldon about your process....I really believe you have nothing to worry about.

I sent you a private message. Yes, Sheldon works for Scuba Caribe on property at Riu Club Negril, and knows Roger. He told me he met you last weekend. I agree he's a nice guy, thank you. I love him very much!

I also believe we have nothing to worry about but the process is aggravating and frustrating, as you well know yourself!!!!

This is causing me alot of stress...6wks and counting what in the world could be taking so long?? I will not email them anymore its a waste of energy! I will just take it one day at a time and pray..I miss my baby so much..if I knew he wasn't going to be here this summer I would have gone to Jamaica. Now I am back in school and my semester is really loaded!!! What a girl to do?

Boy, I bet you must miss him a lot. We are all under so much stress trying to plan our lives. I agree that emailing them is a waste of energy, hoping to get an answer and they give you some general response. I hope you hear something from them soon.

Girl, I know how you feel. Although they told us he had to reapply Aug 1, they never even changed to "ready" I don't understand what they could be looking for either. The police record is one page, he has no charges. The non impediment shows no marriages. The only other thing that could take maybe 5010 min is the medical

I meant 5-10

I have no good news yet...just came to vent :(

I just dont understand how AP can take so long and we had no issues at all during the entire process. What could they possibly be looking for? This hurts so bad. Im just having an awful day. Next week will be a month in AP (if im going by the bogus date listed that STILL says "ready".

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionIs anyone else stuck in "ready" status? Jamaica

My fiance was refused a year ago but became eligible again Aug 1. He was told he could not get his medical until he became eligible. They gave him an interview date Aug 8 as well. Due to emancipation day Aug 1, he couldn't get his medical done until Aug 4. Due to the fact he didn't have his medical, he was given a 221g. We got the packet Aug 12 and sent it by courier Aug 13. They acknowledged receipt of the packet Aug 15. I emailed them that same day asking why his status says refused. I got an email back following Mon Aug 18 stating he was in administrative review and they couldn't tell me how long the process would take. I emailed them again this past Fri Aug 22 asking what could possibly take so long to review a medical packet? I got an email back from them again today but something was different about the email. This time it was from the consular section stating that they're are reviewing all the information relative to the case and it could take 2-3 weeks and they requested I don't contact them again until after 3 weeks if I haven't seen a change.

Talk about frustrating! In no way am I making light of anyone elses situation, nor saying mines worse, just agreeing that a lot of us are frustrated. I was upset when they gave him an interview date too soon to have his medical but the consular gave him every reason to believe he would be approved when the packet arrived. Such a sinking feeling when you check visa status and it still says refused. I wish they would at least change it to AP

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsThe Big Leap-Filed TODAY

So after months of gathering as much evidence as my poor stressed brain could think of, my husband and I finally filed our I-130 petition today. I thought I would be relieved but it turns out I'm even more stressed out now because I'm afraid I've missed something, forgotten to sign something, wrote something wrong, left something out, etc.

I just wanted to share with y'all what all I used in our package for evidence. It was a pretty big package, because we don't actually have a lot of the hard evidence for proving a bonafide marriage, so we used tons of little stuff.

Copies of statements from PayPal showing money transfers between the pair of us.

Gift receipts dating back nearly 11 months to last week.

Phone records

Emails and Chat logs

All our wedding cards from family and friends

Photos of us on dates before the wedding, and after.

Photos of the wedding ceremony of my hubby, myself, and his family.

Copy of passport stamps

Receipts from hotels

Copies of flights and ticket stubs

Affidavits from third parties

Receipts of wedding bands

and a letter from his parents that I have been staying with them (and my hubby) since May this year (hopefully this shows we are kinda living together?)

Again it's not a lot of hard evidence (at least I don't think) but I wanted to share so that those of y'all who don't have a lot of good evidence (utility bills together, joint taxes, bank accounts together, joint lease etc.)

Hopefully all this was enough. This was just the evidence portion of the package. (:

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsUpdates

So on September 8th, 2013 USCIS received my petition for I-130. Got my NOA1 shortly after. We waited months and now...

February 24th: Email stating (we transferred this case to another office)

February 25th: Email stating (we transferred your case to your local USCIS Office for further processing)

February 27th: Email stating (your petition was transferred and is now being processed at a USCIS office)

March 1: Received email stating (On February 28, 2014, your Alien Registration Number was changed relating to your petition)

That is a LOT of emails/texts for updates. Is it normal to be getting all these practically every day/every other day? I mean I love the constant updates, especially after waiting so long without a single word.

Would a letter explaining this situation be advisable? ANy other options/ideas as to what to do about this lack of documents?

Waivers (I-601 and I-212) and Administrative Processes (221g)Still AP
Hi so my fiancée passed her interview on Sept 10. Ceac status' went from: ready->open->issued-> and now AP..

When checking where her passport is on ustraveldocs it used to return "passport at post"
But just recently it's been saying "There is no status update available for the passport number submitted"

I'm just so worried ! Did she get denied during AP?!

Insha Allah okhti! have you heard anything back from the congressman? when I contacted my congressman it didn't take that long for them to respond to my inquiry it took the same day for them to get back to me, but the consulate responded to the congressman in about 2 weeks then the congressman forwarded the email to me. You are right only Allah knows the outcome and only He knows what's best for us. I hope you hear good news. Did you fill out a form and fax it to your congressman?

no extra forms the CO just told her to give her passport to the next window and after she gave her passport she left

If he really loved u and he believes you're the one for him then he would have turned in those docs in a heartbeat, And alot more communication.. Where he calls. Try not calling him until he does. This gives u more dominance showing him ur not a tool to be used. Not saying u are but guys can be as manipulative as some females.

Ja sam od svakog naseg susreta u BiH, mozda poslala po 2-3 slike, ukupno oko 8-10 slika, ja mislim. Na svakoj pozadi napisite, gdje i kad. Nama nisu pravili nikakve probleme.

United KingdomRecent interviewees - do you have your passport yet??

Here's to hoping!  We had our interview on Nov 26th and were approved.  Nov 27th the case was update/created.  Nov 29th it officially said "issued."  We are currently waiting on the visa/passport.  We have not received an email or notice from the embassy saying that it's been sent out.  We called the courier service just to be safe...nothing.  Got a hold of the embassy (miraculously) today and they said to check with the courier service...which was quite pointless as it apparently has not left the embassy.  However...several people who had an interview on Dec 2nd...now have the package in hand.  Feeling a bit discouraged...anyone else still waiting?

That is very strange. I would recommend emailing the Embassy, though the link seems to be broken at the moment. The other option could be to call the DOS. As for us, we've barely had our CEAC status changed to "Issued" as of today, even though our interview was Nov. 25. Took a little while ClockWatch2.gifdry.png

United KingdomGeneral K-1 Visa Questions (London Embassy)

Yeah lol, I had the Capitol building on my profile but changed it last night. I've actually seen that post before but didn't know it continued further up to #18 and so on. Currently we've been calling the State Department to find out if they've received our approved petition. We need the case number to schedule the medical. I also just got word that my fiance received my I-134 documents in the post too. So basically, we have all "DS" forms ready, I-134 form and supporting material, ACPO certificate, birth certificate, etc. We're just playing the waiting game now basically. I do have one question, in regard to the London Embassy. Are you able to call them directly without being nickel and dimed? Or are you still charged loads? I have seen that some people mail them a letter in the post for inquiries but haven't heard so much about calling.

United KingdomGeneral K-1 Visa Questions (London Embassy)

Good afternoon y'all, I have a few general questions regarding the K-1 Visa for the UK. We've recently been approved for the petition, thanks be to God, and I'm curious to know a few things as the visa interview gets nearer.

1. Once we have the case # and schedule the medical exam, can we send in all DS forms including the DS-2001? Assuming we have all required supporting docs in hand.

2. Is it okay to mail all DS forms even though "packet 3" hasn't been physically received?

3. How soon must the MRV fee be paid? Will the embassy not schedule the interview until they show it's been paid?

Thank you in advance!

We've been done with the medical since the 12th of this month. And all necessary paperwork has been submitted. We haven't paid for the visa yet, but I've read that paying in advance doesn't do anything to speed up the interview date.
