IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresNVC and photo requirement
We received our IV package from our lawyer and he hasn't put forth the photo requirement, but I do assume you have to submit two 2x2 photographs, with beneficiary's name and case number at back, can someone give me an official link regarding the requirement?

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Proceduresco-sponsor agreement paper
This is a part of our co-sponsor agreement with the law firm my husband is taking help of, and it concerns me. We have paid them $200 extra for the use of co-sponsor other than their usual fee, but this agreement also talks about finger printing, medical, translation fees. I do understand courier, postage and photocopy fees, but I have never heard of co-sponsor being asked for finger prints or medical. May be I shouldn't read much into it and this might be a standard co-sponsor agreement between lawyer and the co-sponsor, but can anyone clarify me a bit about it. Losing mind with all the money we are having to pump out for the legal "help" wacko.gif

QUOTE

You could file for I-129f after NOA1 for free but in our case, my husband paid for both (I-130 and I-129f).

Candid witch,

I am just curious, if what I have read so far about k-3 process I think i-129f is free even if you have filed it prior to getting NOA-1, I guess you just need to keep an extra copy of the fee you filed for i-130.

Best of luck with the journey good.gif

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresEvery field in the USCIS/NVC forms must be filled up...
Thanks lotto and chintan,

Actually I am learning the same lesson, I just posted my ds-230 forms and other certificates, pcc, bc, marriage to my husband yesterday.

and while reading chintan's post, i realised how i left my number 20 blank mellow.gif

so i have a question, can my husband fill it in black ink pen instead?

I really dont' know how i did it, i did think I checked and rechecked the forms but now i do realise i missed that part.

Also with question number 19, to fill up children's detail, I don't have any, nor my husband, basically want to know where to write that NONE, just by the side where the question number 19 ends or write that on the first coloumn under Name?

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresNVC package
Hi all,

I just want to know how long it usually takes to receive instruction packages for both AOS and IV from NVC.

We have already paid our bills online and we were hoping to send the packages, but our lawyer insists on waiting until he doesn’t get those instruction packages.

ps--Our payments of both AOS and IV bills were accepted by NVC on 8th of July

I was going through the medical requirement and the only vaccination I will need would be Hep B shots, so I went to talk to the local pharmacist and she told me how there are 3 shots to take, first this month, next in august and then another one at 6 months mark which would be january 2009.

This really have made me think of my options now, will taking just 2 shots prior to my interview will work? or I will have to complete the whole dose to get any positive result regarding visa

I have a suggestion,

Why not take the picture in Phillipines and just scan them to your husband, he can take the 2x2 print outs at any photo stores in US, doesn't cost much either and saves time too, and he can write in your case number and other specifics at the back side of the photograph.

Other countries which have been left out are-- Nigeria, West Indies, Columbia.

Basically any country whose per capita income is way less than USA and also the countries US see as potential terrorist threats. That's why a lot of background check goes for people coming from Islamic countries.

Age difference, previous divorce, financial position won't matter if the couple belongs to alliance countries tongue.gif

Hi Trinket,

You wrote "financial position won't matter if the couple belongs to alliance countries" I'm just curious as to how you know this? My Wife and I have no money saved and i'm worried about it. I'm Australian and we are U.S allies.

Sam.

Financial position of USC always matter, because he/she has to provide with i-864 or else get a joint sponsor. What I meant was financial position of Beneficiary won't really matter..........say someone from Australia itself living in a very poor condition won't be asked that many questions compared to someone from India with almost the same kind of poverty ridden background.

Also money saved isn't the base out here, but the question is does your wife earn 125% of poverty line in her household.

Gender also plays the role, a male from Pakistan is almost bound to put under AP compared to female from Pakistan. And it alters if the beneficiary is from Philippines, a male will more likely get a faster clearance compared to a female from Phil.

Have you also sent your i-864 already? If thats the case then it should take anywhere from a week to 3 weeks time to complete your case at NVC. Once case is completed, NVC will alot you an interview date depending upon available dates for Manila Consulate.

Once inteview date has been assigned you might want to complete your medical for the interview. Best wishes rose.gif

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProcedureshELP SERIOUS PROBLEM BEFORE INTERVIEW
At consulate stage they hardly ask for job letter BUT it is most likely that might ask your wife what you work as, since that is one of the basic interview question. Be truthful when this question is asked to your wife and she can also add that you are looking for a new job asap.

NVC covers up the financial aspect of CR-1 visa, so consulate doesn't really deal with any additional paperwork, that's why no need of a job letter at the time of interview.

I would assume normal Thai birth certificate. NVC is very specific on getting the originals from the beneficiary's country.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresCR1 VS K3 INTERVIEW! HELP!!!!!!!
Switching K-3 to CR-1 really depends upon how your CR-1 is flying, if consulate gets your CR-1 file prior to your K-3 interview (well I think around 10 days to 2 weeks prior) from NVC it can be possible to switch.

So do evaluate your options and you might want to hold off your k-3 if CR-1 is flying through.

Keep AR-11 handy and talk to the POE officer. Or, let her husband call USCIS and see what all can be done.

This is what happened to me-- With my DS-230 I gave my FIL's address who lives in Georgia, me and husband live in Indiana. We were planning to change our apartment asap, but we couldn't change our apartment for 1 month because the new apartment needed my SSN and I didn't get any SSN for a while. To cut the story short, I got my GC at our Indiana address, even though I never requested for an address change and thank goodness I didn't get SSN prior to getting my GC or else we would have left that apartment and that GC would have been lost.

To the OP-- consulate must have issued a reason of denial, did your husband get any official paper from the consulate?

If he did, then focus on that and read it carefully as to what the reasons has been given. If no official reason was given to your husband, you might want to email the consulate and ask for the reason or call them up.

As others have stated, you have to keep calling your congressman and see if they can step in with your case. You also need to give a detailed discription of what all went on the day of interview. Plus check your i-130, G-325 papers again, did you make any mistake regarding previous divorces or as such.

Look at all the red flags in your marriage, something like large age gap, or if someone attained LPR by marrying you previously.

Best wishes for the uphill battle ahead rose.gif

i do agree abt some things here ..but every case is different ..for instant ..
my wife result in giving a citizenship to someone before ..but he was already at the US on employment Visa ..and as USCIS apprved the petitions tht means the marriage was on good faith ..so believe thts not a problem ..
AGE gap .might be a reason if its REALLY BIG ..and i mean by really big like for instant 20 and UP ...
my true advise is ..everyone can have their petitoner to attend the Interview tht would be perfect and can help alot ..
my prayers for all of us ...

Yes every case is different and Consular's job is to evaluate the circumstances and work accordingly.

I had a big red flag in my own case, me and husband couldn't meet up physically after our marriage for 4 years, but we had valid reasons and we backed our reasonings with official documentation. USC husband had a major bike accident, spent months in hospital care, after that it was a battle to find job and other financial decisions. Anyways just saying that every case is different and every couple has their own battle to fight.

May be OPs husband fumbled through the interview, I seen a girl who was interviewed the day I was, she was very nervous, even though she passed the interview but she was telling me how she made the mistake by saying wrong D.O.B of her husband..........now that's a big mistake but I guess the consular did see through that she was really nervous and they might not have had any other red flags.
