I hate to say it, but it appears that there are some members in AP, but they have not noted it here...

I am still wating for Hang's medical which is on a day by day phone call now. With the holidays it's seems to be slow, but I emailed the Consulate and they said to wait..I also have Hang calls ChoRay every few days. It has been a little over 2 months so far...I lost count of how many time I updated my timeline smile.gif
I am not in AP, am I??? Just one blue..

You have to get Ly Lich Tu Phap in the province where you are listed in Ho Khau. And yes, bring ID and original Ho Khau book.

Ronnie, you may be a touch early to get police certificates. Looks like you are just starting the process.

Yes Todd, I have just started the process. I got the NOA1 last week.
But since Hang lived at several places and even out of the country so I want to find out how many and exactly where to go get it, since she lives in Saigon now (but her Ho Khau is in Thanh Hoa/Hanoi). Both she and I have no idea what it was..and I heard CSC turn-around approval process is pretty quick now, so who knows smile.gif
Thanks for all your inputs..

she needs to get two, one from Vietnam, and one in Lao devil.gif

Awesome!! hehe..so she need only one for VN (either Hanoi or Saigon is fine right?) and one for Laos.
Actually, her Ho Khau and CMND is still listed as in Hanoi. She is just working in Saigon and I dont think she has any Ho Khau..shsss smile.gif

Before this, I have no idea of Ly Lich Tu Phap or So Tu Phap are? smile.gif
I am flying back for a week next month to surprise her and hopefull have time to go find out more of how to get it done and more...
Thanks again...

Asia: East and PacificPolice Certificate
Hello there..
Does anyone know where to get to Police Certificate in Vietnam, particular in Saigon? If anyone has done this before, would you point me to the right location (addresses).
I also heard that you will need one for every place you live for more than 6 months. My fiancee is from Hanoi but she lives in Saigon now, and also spent a few years in Laos.
Does she need to obtain 3 different Police Certificates for each of these places???

Your help is greatly appreciated...thank you!!!

Asia: East and Pacificbirth certificates of parents?
Not the parent's birth certificates...but her birth certificate with the parent's full name on it.

I submitted the translated birth certificates for both (Hang & I) for my original petition to USCIS; even though, we have different last names. In there, it indicates both of our parents last name.
There are lots of common last name in VNese (Nguyen, Tran, Le, etc..) as you've already know, and they want to see if the two families are related in any way. If both of the families last name are totally different, then you don't have to worry. But you can bring both yours and hers to the interview for the peace of mind. No translation is needed at the consulate.

the price ticket for my fiancee is 850, the child is 122. If the child is 10% of the cost of an adult, isn't that 85 dollars and not 122? i got the quotes from the number you gave me. They're ripping me off?

I think they may have given you the 10% of the regular adult price. Call them back anh tell them about the online child fare listing on their website. May be they add some other fees to it?

Also, Im not sure if my 6 months old boy will need to buy a ticket or it's going to be free? I heard it's a little less than adults.

One more thing...
Just looking up the Asiana website:
http://us.flyasiana....;searchWrd=baby

"Infant Fares:
10% of the normal adult passenger fare will be charged for infants less than two years old on all international routes (free on domestic routes), but no separate seat is provided."

Go to the office in Diamond Plaza, they are very accomodating and I'm sure they will make your travel arraignment goes smoothly. Have fun !!! Prepare for the +9 hours layover in Seoul, Korea smile.gif

Asia: East and Pacificstupid Asiana Airlines!
QUOTE (calilove @ Jul 28 2009, 10:10 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
The stupid people at Asiana airlines trying to make money out of my fiancee. The wait at Souel will be 13 hours, therefore they convinced her to pay for a hotel at the same time. They included an extra 80 dollars with the tickets. I told my fiancee that she cannot go out the airport into a hotel without a US passport. She went back to the airline and told them about what i said, they told her she can. Freaking bs!!

Hey M, Yes she can, she can go to the hotel and rest. When the time come they will have a shuttle bus to take her back to the airport. I think they even give a meal too. So don't worry.
You either take a mini tour around Seoul or go to the hotel. She may not go on the tour with the VNese passport but she can go to the hotel.
When your wife and Mom get to the airport in Seoul, go down to the ground floor and to the right of the terminal is where the Asiana info counter. They will direct people into two groups. One go on the tour and the other will go to the hotel. Relax..they will be fine..and be with you soon bro.

Asia: East and PacificInterview Update
Go with the consulate. $30 is a lot for notary services, but there's no way the CO is going to question the validity of the notary seal. You shouldn't have to wait more than 10 or 15 minutes at US Citizen's Services.

I suspect the blue slip was prepared before your wife submitted her documents, and they weren't going to bother printing up a new one.
Thanks Jim, you're right..I am thinking along the same line as yours.
The notarial service is available from 8:30 a.m.-11:30 a.m., Monday through Thursday.
I will go there tomorrow to see how the $30 Consulate Seal look like smile.gif
Ronnie,

I want to understand this better. You submitted a timeline with your I-129F petition but you did not have it notarized. Do you think you got the blue slip requesting a timeline, because you did not notarize it?

<CARRICK>

I don't believe so, the first window accepted my updated & notarized timeline but she gave it back after the interview. I think my blue is more about the missing medical results and they just throw the timeline in there too.
...Or maybe they need an updated notary. I had it done in the States before I came here.

I am thinking to get an updated notary at the Consulate for $30, unless anyone know any place outside can do it too. Please advise. Thanks.
