Other people question this as well although I don't know why. Do you want your fiance to be prepared for any questions that might arise from the CO in regard to the contents of your petition package? This is what you need to be asking yourself. It isn't a short cut worth taking IMO. I would hate to go to an interview unprepared, wouldn't you? You would need to look at the IR-1/CR-1 information. Look through the guides, the flowchart, the example forms. Print them out and fill them out (for practice) and ask any questions you have here so that when it's time to file, you're good to go! A personal check is acceptable for the I-129f petition fee. It is not acceptable for a K-1 visa fee but that is not what he is paying. Petitions and visas are not the same thing. 2. Emails not needed for a petition, no proof of ongoing realtonship needed for a petition, only proof of meeting in person. 3. dates do not matter. Your point of entry will be the first stop that you make in the United States whether it is New Tork or LA. If you plan to stop in New Youk that will be your first point of entry into the US so that is where you will go through Immigration. If your entry point is California that is where you will go through Immigration. Once you go through immigration you can travel anywhere you want to go in the US. Would you sign a contract with the government to sponsor my spouse and be liable if she collected any sort of government assistance?
