so , we have 56000$ for 2012 gross incomes , but this year2013 we are going bad , but as I know in I-134 we must fill 2012 incomes , am I right ? Not for 2013 till now?

I look at this numbers in poverty guidelines , and I wonder how we must calculate them , I mean in I134 , before-tax or after tax?
What we have to fill - gross yearly incomes or net yearly incomes? Very important as we are household of 5.

Question # 8 on I-134 Affidavit of Support

I wanna ask some questions :
I am k1 , and we have 5 year K2. My soulmate have 2 sons from his first marriage and he pays child support.
1.My fiancée must fill 2 different Afiddavits or just one with both of us in it?
2.in question 8 he puts my kid's name (k2) or his kids names , to whom he pays child support?
3. Did he fills one Afiddavit on my name and one on my kid name? Different ones ? If yes,
Is it right to fill on both his kids names as partial support?
4. What level for poverty we must cover - for 4 ( me, my k2, him, 0,5 for each 2 kids he have , paying child support) or for 5 people?

Of course the US Embassy is well aware of issues with sending materials into Russia. I'd email all documents and bring those to the interview; they will understand about your troubles. Email them ahead of time to inquire.

Actually they lifted the suspension on documents a few days ago. I sent my stuff today. I wanted to send a gift also but that is still forbidden. All is well now

Don't know about Russia, but I just sent documents to Ukraine a few weeks ago via Fedex - no problems at all tracking it and it only took 3 days from my door to her door. What may seem to make USPS suck, is that the package/document is handed over to the local carrier after it crosses the border into the foreign country & then all bets are off, whereas with private carriers, it stays with the private carrier (or their contractor) the entire trip.

As of January 26 they suspended all deliveries to Russia from civilian to civilian. I called this morning and they said they loosened the customs procedure so that "only documents" could be sent. So that's a relief. And you're right about USPS, I used them before: No Bueno. It has uses for unimportant things like gifts and things like that but I wouldn't dream of sending something important or expensive that way. I have had things arrive fine, I've had things get lost and I've had things take 4 months when it should have been 2 weeks.

Take all your docs whether hard-copy or electronic format to Kinko and print to a PDF file, and email it to her. She can print it on her end. Or, you can download a trial copy of Adobe Acrobat for 30-days and do it yourself. PDF documents are the best way to maintain formatting and keep a small file size.

I typed the responses and printed the files using acrobat. Its those pesky "original" signatures that have me concerned...

I would scan everything you were sending with a coverletter explaining why and she can print out. And I would also go to each of the shipping companies website and print out that mailing is suspended and proof you couldn't send. Just in case it doesn't lift before your interview time.

Not a bad idea. But probably I should makes some calls to make sure this would fly.

It's not the US carriers, it's the instability in the region now and Russia Post. There is no need to mail original copies anyway. PDF docs work just fine. The USPS has alerts, but true to form they will simply take your money and package and wipe away their drool after you learn that your package has disappeared.

But, the documents that she needs have to have original signatures unless I missed something. Do you mean send it all and have her forge it on her end?

The solution is obvious, but you are oblivious to the US Postal Service? Global Priority Mail works pretty well. At least as good as profit-driven private companies.

I mailed packages to Russia a few times with USPS. One got lost, another took two months to arrive. FedEx/DHL would be very expensive but reliable. I disagree that I should even be considering USPS as an option as it would put my time sensitive documents into their postal system which lives up to its reputation of really sucking.

Anyone else dealing with a K1 with a beneficiary from Russia right now? I went to send the documents that she needs from me after I received my NOA2 and all of the above companys have 'suspended" shipment from USA to Russia. I have no idea what to do now about getting my signed docs, work letter, etc to her in time for her interview... I still have time I guess since I only got my NOA2 yesterday, hopefully they will resume business as usual but what if not?? :/

could the looming Russian Visa restrictions effect me?

I'm having this same concern...

we just got our noa2 last week and our hopes are so high now. It would suck so bad if the visa ban was for citizens a well...

There is no 'packet 3' really, just an email for you and a letter for your fiancee. They will use the information you provided for her address for her letter. If I remember right you don't need the NVC number either. I believe it took about a week to get my email and about two weeks for her to get the letter. If fact by the time she got the letter the appointment was set and the visa paid for already. I did everything for her and paid with a credit card to the Russian Standard Bank and you use that receipt number to set the interview appointment at the Embassy.

that "Packet 3" name is so deceiving. I don't know what people did before this site. SO she will receive a letter in snail mail that she will need for the interview and the email I am to receive is basically telling me what I already know to do next? Basically we are thinking about paying and finishing the app soon and getting it out of the way but we didn't want to do anything out of sequence and regret it later. Also if you don't mind me asking, did your lady have any documents besides the police report translated?

On the travel.state.gov site they are asking for the Case Number and an "Invoice Number" to make a payment. I'm on the phone right now on hold waiting for the invoice number so we can pay.

Thanks guys, we aren't in a rush to finish everything since we need to wait at least two more weeks for the police certificate so maybe its best we don't have the email quite yet. I'm on the phone right now with nvc to get this "invoice number" that I didn't even know we needed,

How long after NVC sent the case to Moscow did you guys get this email may I ask?

=) For us, an e-mail was sent from the Embassy in Moscow and it provided a link for Zhenya (my Russian fiance) to go to in order to fill out the packet and necessary information for the interview. It took him several, several hours to fill out this information because he did not always understand everything and I was at work at the time, and unable to assist with translating. So it would be helpful if you can be available to help, depending upon your fiance's level of English.

When Zhenya finished filling out the information, and paying the fee, there was a list of dates presented as options for the interview, and he chose one. Then he called and scheduled the medical for the day before.

Did you already receive the e-mail from the embassy in Moscow? =)

Actually we haven't received an email at all. I don't even know how they would know her email as I do t ever remember providing it to them in any prior paperwork.

when I checked the visa status on caes.com site with the nvc case number it says "ready" and we are given a link and able to access the immigration site to where we can start the application and pay the fee). (I think I still need the "invoice number" from nvc. Will call in a few hours).

Maya will be fine filling out the app). Her English is sometimes even better than mine since she is an English teacher near Moscow.

Our case is now "ready" on the site. I need to get my invoice number and with that and the case number I can pay for the interview and the visa application. But what is this "packet 3" I keep hearing about and how will my fiancé receive it? How will they know where to send it?
