IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsNVC Filers - March 2014

i have a question i did my taxes for 2013 and my tax specialist said to submit it as single because my wife didn't have a ssn so my question is will that affect negative in any way or if i can fix this how thanks

Hi corlitoa, I contacted the IRS specialist from the US Embassy in Paris, and he told us that my Husband(usc) should file his taxes as married but filling it seperatly. And for him to write NRA (NON) where my ssn should be.

I need to ask you something, sorry if it has been asked before,

We had a lawyer for the I-130 process, but she wasn't that helpful in the end, and when we got our case number at NVC, we were informed that she would be our Agent.

We want to change that how can we do it?

write them a letter informing them that we want my husband to be the agent?

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsNVC Filers - April 2014

So today I got a false check list for my IV packet, but because the Check list said that I didn't had an AOS, my husband was going nuts and worried so i called NVC. The lady that answered was very nice and she started telling me that both were there and that they had been analysed and were at the computer right now, but that i only had goten that false check list for mine and that my husband would get a check list with all the necessary things to be corrected.

She actually told me what was wrong with what, I will name some so people will now what may be needed to review:

I 864 a- all the problems were with this form:

*part 2 has to be sign by the Main sponsor/petitioner

*the taxes money did not correspond to the one written on the form

*missing w2 for the I 864 a fillers(that i am sure were on the check list i made for each of them, but somehow no one saw it)

I already told my husband to start getting this ready, He was like "let us wait for the check list, i don't want to be wrong again."

?But i don't want to wait, it is difficult to be across the ocean and not being able to do anything besides pestering people about things that should had been done. I believe I have become Immigranzilla to them.

I feel really sad...

But at least I am Happy for all of you that already got completed cases.

There is hope!

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsCase Complete at the NVC so how long until they notify us

Well i got Case Complete on Monday and got the e-mail on Tuesday/ yesterday. Now about the interview, all depends on the Embassy. I found out, by reading the statistics that Paris takes about 10 to 15 days to get a date and is always to the next month, so I am hoping July is the time.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress Reportsadvise needed from people with checklist

From what I read you will need to send another 10 - PASSPORT POLICE CERTIFICATE, 5 - MARRIAGE CERTIFICATE and BIRTH CERTIFICATE.

Plus, you will need to redo your I-864EZ form and make sure that you place NA on all the blank answers, even if you have to place them with a black ink pen. and don't forget to print the bar-coded sheet that came with the checklist.

Have you already made your travel plans for France? We already bought our plane tickets and booked the hotel.

You have to let me know how long it takes you to receive your package in the mail after your interview because I was hoping my husband could come back with me on July 30th but we don't know if he'll have his stuff yet.

I'm trying too, I have a friend that wants to tag along, ( made my father sad because he was hoping to go) i am waiting on her to talk with her employer. but she is taking toooooooo long!

This is so confusing to me and there's a bunch of us that got Paris interviews at once. So do they send our stuff all together or individually?

I'm pretty darn proud of the binder I made as well hehe.

I believe they are going to look at us and go: "I guess we have another VJer here today"

All due to the binder

Omg I just found my package using DHL, haha. This is soooo exciting!!!

Can someone please explain the DHL thing like as if I was a 3 year old? (yes I am feeling that dumb)

Approved!!!  My husband was approved this morning.  He said he has too much paperwork.  They didn't take our 2013 tax info and it was easier than he expected!

They asked him how we met and when we got married.

Congrats !!

Hope everyone that have been schedule get smooth and easy peasy interviews.

On my letter there's an R after these two items, which means they have been submitted online. Don't you? I will bring the copy though just in case (actually I will bring everything I've submitted on paper or online)

Yeah, mine had it too.

I was just trying to figure out if it was what i thought it was, the ds260, or if i needed to do something more.

I am setting a file with everything from I-130 to the AOS and IV packet. I don't want to miss anything.

Yeah the price difference too, could be up there. I could do without this anxiety, husband is not worried, thinks it will be fine. Lol.i try not to mention it every day, but am on here checking everyone's dates from interview to visa in hand from london.

Damn husbands, always keeping their calm while we pull our hair.

Mine is like, don't worry we are fine, nothing to stress about it...

And i'll be like: BUT BUT BUT....

I am preparing all the documents i'll need to take to the embassy, from what is asked of me from the Letter.

They ask for :

1 - IMMIGRANT VISA APPLICATION PART 1
1 - IMMIGRANT VISA APPLICATION PART 2

Is this the DS-260? Or something else?

Hi everyone. I am hesitating to book my flight tickets now, as they will be 3 times more expensive if I buy them last minute (ie waiting to receive my visa)... Just wanted to know if I will be the only lady booking in advance? AP can happen to everyone so I am hesitating... :-/

I am having that little feeling in my stomach/anxiety maybe... so that is the main reason why I am not booking the flight ahead.

I just don't want to take my chances.

Interview scheduled! For July 23rd. A bit disappointed to have a late July one though, as it means I will miss a big family reunion/party there by only a few days... but well I waited since April 2013 so I shouldn't complain! Congrats to everyone!

INTERVIEW JULY 22nd AT 1PM

YAY, now i can go to work :P

 But I am sad :(

we are not going to meet at the interview. Everyone for Paris is getting a different schedule.

Two at the beginning, one in the middle (me) two at the end.

Did the embassy people read our threads and thought "We are not going to have a visa-journey gathering in here!"

Just called NVC: good news and bad news. On the good news side, my interview date is July 2nd.

Now the bad news:

- there is no more slot for the medical appointment with either of the 2 doctors approved by the Paris Embassy, before July 2

- my wife's case (we are IR-5, with our daughter being the petitioner) has not been completed yet. (...)

I am so sorry!

Mexico, Latin & South AmericaAnyone had any luck with Matrimonio Por Exceptcion in Quito, Ecuador?

Hopefully I am in the most appropriate forum....

I am a US citizen and my fiancé of Ecuador and I are ready to get married and begin our application process for our CR-1.  Time is of the essence for us as I just found out I am pregnant.

We have ALL our necessary paperwork, BUT Ecuador wants us to wait 75 days before we can marry.  (We are on day 51 right now, so we're close.)  I've been in Ecuador, living with my fiancé for 9 months, but I recently went home for a month to help my family out, starting the count over. (eye roll!)

Anyway, I read that matrimonio pro exception is an option... and emailed with a person on VJ that was able to accomplish it, but so far they have really given us the run around... saying its not possible and the "jefe" resigned....

we finally have all our paperwork totally finish AND have now I have the news of the pregnancy... so, anybody know anything?

thanks a million!

Mexico, Latin & South AmericaOnce visa is approved… (in Guayaquil, Ecuador) any experience with how it takes to receive it?

1. Hopefully I am in the right place to ask this question.. if not, please direct me to the correct forum.  Or if there is already a discussion thread?.

2.  My husband was approved for his CR-1 visa on April 16th.  At the interview he was told that 10 days from the date of the interview, his visa would be ready for pick-up in Ambato.  I was also told something similar on the phone by someone at the consulate - 2 calendar weeks from the interview date (if approved) his visa would be available for pick-up.

However, I called the consulate today with a different question and also asked about the visa and "how we were doing."  I was told it should be printed tomorrow (April 22nd) and will then take 10 business days to reach Ambato.  Um, seriously?  Why on earth would it NOW take 10 business to get to Ambato???

Does anyone have experience with this?  I know that if my husband travels back to Guayaquil and gets the visa there, that would be faster - and I have sent an email to the consulate asking for that permission.  And then I get an email back saying that it will take 3-5 business days to reply to me! (I was told we were supposed to ask for expedited pick-up at time of interview, but we didn't know about that at time of interview!)

I am about to give birth to our first son and not only do we want to be able to share this experience together, but I also live alone with family far away.  So, I'm kinda in dire need of my hubby? BEFORE our son decides to come out!

Any advice, "here's what we did," or clarification on this would be helpful!  I feel like every time I speak with someone at the consulate I get a different story, or slightly different information every time.

Thank you!
