US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionInterview Questions-Certified Translations?
Hello everyone again,
I was wondering if anyone has needed certified translations for their interview in Guayaquil? Our lawyer said that we need them for the official documents like the birth certificate and police record but there is nothing about this in the Packet 4. I am getting stressed out as we have only one week to go...
Thanks!

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionGuayaquil Consulate - Translations?
Your welcome for the interview, the website is only as good as its users! Good luck at your interviews and don't stress too much, it doesn't help. Just make sure you are prepared. I stressed quite a bit in these past two months (to the point that I think I was affecting my health) and its not worth it just do what you can, the rest is out of your hands. GOOD LUCK!!!

As Tbone stated, yes, I have posted my review, feel free to read it and PM me if you have any further questions. Our interview went well but as Tbone said, don't take things for granted, be as prepared as possible. Maybe there have been more approvals because of the advice we have received ahead of time and not because the consulate has changed. Good luck with everything!

I had remembered reading that we don't need the translations as well. As I said in my previous post, they never asked for our certified translations. We had them just in case but they never needed them. If you had the birth certificate translated for your original application, I think they will have that and they never asked about one for the police record. If you want to have them just in case, go ahead, but I would suggest not stressing too much if it is impossible. Unfortunately, I don't know where in Guayaquil they have translators so you will have to get help from someone else on that. Good luck though!

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionInterview date in Guayaquil
July 1st may be the earliest date available but I think it would be worth an e-mail and/or phone call to make sure that they don't have anything earlier. You can see by my timeline that we were able to get a fairly quick interview (once they FINALLY let us schedule one) but it may be different now because of more applications, but it is worth a shot. Our lawyers were able to get our date so if you are using lawyers maybe they could help, if not, why not try. Worst case would be that they say no and you have to wait until July 1st, best case they move it up. Good luck!

0Got our biometrics appt letter today for 7/5/12. :-) No NOA yet though. :-( Anyone know, if you don't have the NOA by the time you have biometrics, can you get the stamp in your passport when you go for biometrics or do you need another appt? Thanks!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsRecieved NOA2 Approval!!!
I just wanted to share my happiness and let everyone know that when I checked my e-mail it said "On September 10, 2009, we mailed you a notice that we have approved this I129F PETITION FOR FIANCE(E)." We are so happy to get past the first stage (and without any RFE's) I was also wondering if anyone has or how I might find information on the average time from NOA2 until the embassy receives it, as well as how long is the average wait for an interview in Guayaquil, Ecuador. Sorry if it should be easy to find but I am still getting used to the site. Thanks!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresI-129F Approval Help sent to Consulate General of Guayaquil, Ecuador??!?!
Allek,
Congratulations on getting your interview, we did as well. Maybe we will see your fiance there, as well as you, if you decide to go since our interview is the 30th as well. How did you get your interview finally? We had our lawyers call last week and they were told to call the VIS on Tuesday (the 17th) and our congressman also got involved and got an e-mail saying that we could call anytime after the 16th. And you?

T-Bone, yep, working on it. I have contacted my congressman and our lawyers are calling away bugging the heck out of them. They finally got a response to call on Tuesday (to the VIS), I guess we will see what happens them. Meanwhile I am using the extra time to get as prepared as possible for this interview and to make a little more money ;-)

I am going through the exact same thing right now. You can read my earlier post if you want to hear what has happened to us:

No one has seemed to know the answer but if anything happens with our case I will let you know. Is your case number on Guayaquil's website yet, on the list "Cases Ready For Interview"? Please keep me updated of any progress on your case as well. This waiting for no good reason is driving me crazy!!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresMedical Appointment - Pre-consulate Packet?
It may be possible to have her medical before Guayaquil receives it but you must have the Guayaquil case number. If you have that already, you should be able to do the medical. What we did was as soon as we got the case number we called to make the appointment for the medical. We went to Aguilar in Quito. Over the phone we were told that we only needed the case number but when we got to the office the secretary was a little pickier. She wanted the letter from the Consulate. We told her that our lawyers had said we could make the appointment, that they had been in contact with Guayaquil (which was a bit of a fib, they had just gotten the case number from the NVC) and though she was trying to push for the letter, the doctor said that it was no problem, if the lawyers had been in contact then no problem.

This would be my suggestion if there is enough time before your fiancee would be traveling; I would e-mail the consulate to see if they can give you confirmation in an e-mail because if they can then you can print that out and you would have no problems getting the medical with that and your case number. I don't see any reason to wait longer than that because we never even got the Packet 4 in the mail, only the digital version, and the Visa Information Service (VIS) where you call to set your interview might not get your case number for many more weeks I think that that would be the best option.

But, even if you can't get that confirmation e-mail in time, if you have your case number I would suggest trying to get the medical done ahead of time, you might have to fib a bit that you have been in contact with the embassy but if you push and don't admit that you have not, you should have no problem. We were able to get ours done with only the case number.

Good luck, where does your fiancee's family live?

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresAPPROVED !!!!

The answer has already been given in this thread but again, your question shows that you too have failed to learn the process. There was enough information in the opening post for anybody familiar with the process to determine it was the petition, not the visa that was approved. Since this has been explained to the OP several times in this thread, your question also indicates you didn't even read the answers in the thread before posting.

Your own ultimate success in the process is going to depend on you studying the guides and learning the process. One of the best ways to do that is to read far more than you post. Even then, no matter how much you study, you'll have questions and we're here to help with them. However, your own study is likely to answer many questions you would never have thought to ask. That's why it's so critical to your success.

Is there anything in the initial post to say that this is the petition for K-1 as opposed to an AOS application? I assume we are talking about K-1 but isn't it possible that it is an AOS?
