PhilippinesSmiles and Excitement Tonight!!

So tell us again, why can't she fly to US POE alone, and you save big $ from your airfare for the AOS? Just sayin?

Peace

If i was making the big bucks. I would still have her fly by herself to the POE. Not being mean or anything, but I think 1300-1700 dollars can be spent on something better. Especially when it comes to the AOE fee.

I am so glad that she is coming. I never want to have to deal with the Philippine Immigration ever again.

When I was in Philippines. The only thing I found 24/7 was a McDonalds way way deep in Quezon city. I lived in Baclaran and nothing was open but the nice american bars on Airport Road LOL then I guess you can get a beer 2 in the morning.

I don' t live in a big city but I do live in a city with lots of marines. We have two wal marts open 24/7 and lots of mc donalds open 24/7.

then taco bell stays open till 3am on weekends.

I don't think anyplace in PI is hot and dry.

Perhaps you need to take a trip to SM Moa and use one of their bathrooms located outside. That will remind you of hot and dry. LOL

Yeah there is a lot of humidity in Philippines. Being in the Philippines reminded me of going to the Port of Kuwait. It was so hot and wet here my weapon sweat.

Everything especially the climate just so glad we dont get snowed in Ga on winter time.

I live in North Carolina Just north of Wilmington and we get lucky if we get snow once a year and it stays more than a day. Lucky for her she will get to see it fall but not enough to make a snow man. May have to bring her to my family in MI during the Winter to show her what a real snow day looks like.

I know in the Philippines that they get a lot of typhoons but I was telling my fiancee. That a typhoon in Philippines is pocket change compared to the hurricanes we get here on the Outer Banks of NC.

The myth about America being such a free country.

I'm US born and it still shocks me on how much they emphasize on the world "free" in this country.

I was surprised to see very old people around 70 plus still working in Wallgreens, Publix, Malls (food court) and Walmart. Not something you will see in the Philippines.

It is not that they don't need to work. Probably married and want to get a way for a few hours of the day. LOL

At least that is what my dad tells me. He is almost 70.

She was shocked to see how similar it is here too PI. The food, weather and culture here is very similar to PI, except for the American influences here, like football, big trucks and the serving size of food.

The Weather too!? Do you live or reside around Death Valley, California or something.

PhilippinesInterview Questions (K-1) asked at Manila Embassy
Even I am oblivious to that question "How many siblings do you have?"

because it seems my dad keeps finding a new one each year. LOL

I told her to keep them short and sweet, to the point and never lie.

That is one thing she was saying to me, what if i say this and what if i say that? I was like you don't need o sugar coat it, you just need to be honest.
They look for those work arounds and become suspicious.

PhilippinesInterview Questions (K-1) asked at Manila Embassy
My fiancee is so worried about when she gets to the interview that she might be dumbfounded when the consulate asks her questions about me and my family.

I don't exactly have a happy family so I try not to bring it up in conversation. So, she rarely knows anything about my family, but at last she still needs to know about them.

What are some questions or maybe someone can redirect me to a very good website that shows questions that would be asked at the interview?

PhilippinesMy baby at medical now...
Mine is at the Medical right now as well. She is sending me a progress report through yahoo.

I didn't do the interview till March 3rd, that way she can go home to bacolod to say good bye for the last few weeks she is in Philippines.

PhilippinesIncome tax return 2011?
I checked the Instructions for both I-129F and I-134

If you look under the instructions on the right side. Under "General Instructions"

Number One clarifies that the forms are allowed to be either Typed or Printed Legibly in Black Ink.

PhilippinesWhat id we get stuck in Japan
When I went through the Japanese airline I was in Tokyo.

Just as an american flying through. they gave me a free 90 day visa and i could have left for a hotel if I wanted to but you can actually stay inside the airport and they will stick you in one corner of the airport and watch you LOL

now leaving and going to a hotel with a filipina.. hmm maybe a call to a Japanese embassy and ask them directly or call the airport where you will be flying into the rules.

PhilippinesPinay Driving Lesons. Can you handle it.?
If the person in the passenger side is in not saying anything at all or just letting her go as is. It might worry the driver as well because she doesn't know if she is doing good or bad.

So it is kind of a thin line on how much you worry, let her know she is doing good or bad, or yell at her to STOPPP! :)

PhilippinesPinay Driving Lesons. Can you handle it.?
Sadly I got my drivers license in Philippines before I got it in the United States and I was born american. I am from NC, they started the whole weird 6 month probation with our license so that was the time i went to pinas.

I learn how to drive defense and offensive in pinas and learned how to drive very very fast on the Autobahn in Germany.

PhilippinesThings you had to buy and/or throw away?

Bought a rice cooker, a car, and a new house. Also lots of Pinay Food. She wants a Bidet, but I working on that.

Things I should have thrown away! The pictures of the young Senorita from right before I met her, laying on our current bed at the time. Oh Yes I bought a new bed also .. LOL

She wants a pony? Gezzz... the closest thing my fiancee will come to a pony is a framed photo of one.

Or I can just take her on one of the farms around here. I live in the boonies.

I may even let her milk a cow, whatever floats her boat.

I had a rice cooker already but it was only for 2 cups. American size for a whole family... then I went out and bought a 12 cup just for her.

This is for those guys with Filipina fiancee and wives.

When your fiancee or wife first came to live with you in America. What were some things that you had to buy because she needed, being american you would never need. Also, what are some things you had to hide or throw away cause she found it dis tasteful.

PhilippinesUS Embassy Interview - Manila

Just make a photo copy of the BPI receipt so you have two copies.

Does this go the same with the passports?

I sent her copies of my passport and also she has her own passport with two copies, will that be sufficient.

PhilippinesUS Embassy Interview - Manila
First off: Congrats! Hope that you find the United States a journey as well.

Second based off your interview:

When your number comes up again you will go to a window: NBI clearance, B-certificate, CENOMAR, and I-134 affidavit of support, two proof of visa payment, and both your passports. They will ask you some questions and proof of the relationship.

You said you need two proof of visa payments: I know one you get from BPI, where is the other one?

then you said both of your passports: Do you mean the original Passport of the Filipina and a photo copy of the petitioner's passport?

PhilippinesThings you find na kakaiba sa US of A

kakaiba...

kelangan turuan mo ang anak mo mag-wave wave and say hi to everybody. sa Pinas... don't talk to strangers ang unang itinuturo natin.

ung sa Pharmacy, wala kang mabiling matinong gamot without prescription, and everytime may sakit ka.. pupunta ka muna sa doctor bago ka makakabili ng gamot.
At ang pila sa doc office akala mo blockbuster na pilikula... with appointment pa yan ha! The best part pag-new patient ka, halos isang buwan kang mag-aantay bago ka magkaka-appointment date. lolz. Mahal mag-pa-pasta ng ipin.. mas mura pabunot ng ipin. Parang ayaw nila i-save ang ipin mo! :-)

Nakakapag-laro ng football.. pero "disabled" daw sila to work. Ayaw mag-aral kahit libre na lahat. Pumapasa kahit di marunong sumulat at bumasa.

Mayroon din mga feeling PAL, may trabaho pero utang ng utang kasi nauubos ang pera sa drugs. lol. but i guess meron din yan sa Pinas. Walang pera pang bili ng gatas ng anak, walang gas papuntang work, pero wag ka tatawag kasi na-stranded somewhere (in the middle of the night) kasi bumisita sa friend's house. Sus me!

Kanya kanyang file ng taxes, sa Pinas employer mo nag-file for you... at for sure wala kang REFUND! lol.

I guess the employer feels that if they file for you, then the convince for their work would be your refund. LOL The question is if they give you a choice to do your own or does the employer has mandatory rights over it.

PhilippinesThings you find na kakaiba sa US of A

Just because people take their time it doesn't mean they have nothing better to do. Travel around the world and you will see the pace of life varies from place to place. Travel to Italy and you'll be overwhelmed on how SLOW they are. LOL So does that mean they have nothing better to do? I don't think so. It's culture. Maybe that's why people who live in these slow-paced places are better natured in general.

On the other side, the waitress is "kicking you out" because they want to get out of their shift ASAP because they are tired and want to get off from the floor away from nasty, ill-mannered, condescending, entitled customers who think you owe them even your personal time. LOL.

The thing is that a job is a job. It should be consistent throughout the day. Yes, being a waitress is a hard job, but shouldn't be treated any different as if you served the first customer to the last.

If it is about pushing the line between when they work and when they get off then that is management. They should have a cut off time and have the waitress do odd end jobs towards the end of her shift and have someone take over doing tables. That way the previous waitress can get off in time, if she insist that she needs the tips then go for it, continue waiting tables till the end, but a job is a job.

*LOL*

Just say "Estoy Bien, Me No Speakin' Igles" then they will leave you alone unless you live in Southern California or Texas then you are in trouble.

It is fun to mess with them. I went to Food Lion, place here in North Carolina where we shop for food and the cashier asked me did I find everything okay? I was like no. That completely stumped her. I guess it wasn't in the orientation to respond to such a rhetorical question.

The bathrooms are extra clean... I took about 30 minuets admiring them.
