K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresWe forgot to include 'Letters of Intent to Marry'
QUOTE (Kirsto @ Sep 6 2008, 01:26 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Thanks, i'm already starting to feel a little better, jut to know they will still start processing it without the letters is a weight off my mind, its taken so long just to get to this point!!

Yeah they will most likely send a RFE. From what i have read on other threads etc. it shouldn't slow down the process too much.

I have also read on other sites/threads, and as somebody above me correctly pointed out - you shouldn't send anything to them without them asking for it.

I wouldn't worry yourself too much, as it is very common to accidently leave something out.

Hope it goes well for you!

Thanks everybody. Your comments are much appreciated.

So I gather that it may be for the best to just sit tight and pray :-). That however is not going to improve my stress levels and sleep pattern much ;-).

And I'll be sending him my copy with my signature this time first thing Monday morning in case he gets the RFE.

Thanks again.
T.

Just a quick reminder incase you didn't know. you need to fill out and sign 4 copies each.

sorry if you already know this, but me and my fiance didn't realize this at first.

best of luck to you! smile.gif

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresVWP and marriage!
QUOTE (becky-sees-stars @ Nov 29 2008, 11:33 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
hey everyone very new to all this!

well here i go to cut a long story short, i met my boyfriend on the internet he is in the US army and is now non active for deployment and works at his local base, i have been out to see him just the other week after waiting far too long to met each other i changed my ticket twice as we weren't ready for me to leave just yet.

well basically i'm going back fingers crossed on the 3rd dec the ticket will be for 3 weeks but i know i have up to 90days to be there!
we want to go get married when i get over afer xmas and was wondering once this is done (i don't need to work as he earn $42+ a year and has his own house, if i can just stay out there once married in Las Vegas or at a small chapel or reg. office??? unsure.gif

well any help will be great we have known each other a while this isn't marriage for any other reason than love wub.gif wub.gif wub.gif

I'm sure there's very few people on here that would say they haven't considered just going and risking getting married there and then. But the risk of something bad happening that could permanently stop you from living with him/her is far too scary. It sucks having to wait for the K-1 to process but it's the best way to do it. You just have to be patient.

I wish you all the best!!!

We only have one original and one copy of each document for the I-134, and our second interview is this Friday so send me a message on Saturday and I´ll tell you if we had any problems smile.gif Hopefully not!!!

Thank you Skyler that would be great.

I don't think i was very clear with my question so i do apologize.

This is not regarding the affidavit that i need to take to the interview with me, this is just the ones my fiance sent when applying for a K-1 visa.

Sorry for any confusion.

The ones included in the I-129F most likely will be ignored as the finacial support ability is provided at time of interview... do not worry about what if anything you sent with the petition... you most likely will be asked to update this at interview time.

Thank you payxibka.

That makes sense that they would want an updated version.

oh sorry - seen the words co-sponser and was thinking support affid! headbonk.gif

I should go to bed....getting cross eyed! wacko.gif sorry for the confusion!

Copies are sufficent for the interview - orginals are good to have as well just in case they are asked for.

Thanks for the reply LorriQ.

It's actually the Affidavit supporting documents we are worried about. In other words the documents the Co-sponsor has to get in order to prove he/she can afford it.

We only sent one of each document and are worried we should have sent two copies of each.

Thanks smile.gif

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresCo Sponsor question
Hi VJ users smile.gif

We sent the the I-129F a few months back now. However my question is regarding the I-134 form, or more specifically the supporting docs. We sent one copy of each of the documents provided by the Co sponsor. And after re-reading the I-134 information page, we realized it says send "duplicates" of the supporting documents. Does that mean we should have sent two copies of each of the supporting documents provided by the Co sponsor? e.g tow copies of the letter from the bank and 2 from the place of work etc. Or does it just mean send photocopies of the documents as apposed to the originals?

Will this be an issue? If so what would you suggest we do?

Any help would be great.

Many, many thanks in advance.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresSurviving long distance relationships

Hey everybody

i got engaged to my loved one on Jan 1st 2008 in india... Just wanted to share the good news that i will meet her after 261 days!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. no0pb.gif i am authorized from my company to work for 3 weeks in france and 3 weeks in singapore. she will be flying to singapore on 27th of sept and we will finally meet each other after 261 days.... i am getting goosebumps and i am so excited to see her.

i hope she recognizes me.. lol.. rofl.gif

please provide comments on surviving a long distance relationship.. helpsmilie.gif it should be helpful for everyone.

Also give me some ideas as what should i do after i getout from the airport and see her again.. i dont know what will i do when i see her.. :-) kicking.gif

As for helping with the long distance thing, the best thing me and my fiance ever did to help us get through it is to each buy a webcam. failing that then at least a instant messenger. time differences can always be tricky but you just have to work around it. Something fun to try that can make you feel closer to her if you have either webcams or instant messenger is to watch/listen to the same movie/tv show/album at the same time.

hope this helps.

good luck

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresPre-interview visit?
Yeah i think i will try the DOS instead. I can tell now how the USE phone call would go. The people on the phones can be quite awful sometimes. I have phoned them many times as my packet 3 isn't on the system yet and they are constantly giving me different information and contradicting what another person has told me before.

Thanks for the help.

QUOTE (Slightly Bonkers @ Feb 8 2009, 09:21 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Sorry if my reply was confusing. Even though it may not suit you, I feel I should clarify just incase I confused anyone else.

Usually you do immigration in the US, after your flight lands. That's where they decide whether to allow you to enter the US or not. It they don't let you in, you have to pay to get on the next flight home.

Ireland has an arrangement with the US that allows passengers to go through immigration in Dublin (or Shannon) before the flight. For you this would mean having your POE, immigration interview in Dublin rather than in America. If they decided to refuse you entrance, you could just leave Dublin airport and get a flight back to the UK in your own time, which would be much cheaper and less hassle than from the States.

The Dublin POE requires all the same proof of return as an American POE, so you're not making that part any easier. You're just minimizing the issues if you're refused.

As mentioned not all US bound flights do immigration in Dublin, so if you decided to do this, double check with your airline.

Thank you Slightly Bonkers.

Sorry i didn't understand what you meant the first time. I will check that tomorrow, hopefully i can do it.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresPre-interview visit?
Thanks for the response smile.gif

I'm not quite sure what you mean.

As far as i know, it's only an issue trying to get into the US whilst you're applying for a Visa there. I don't think any other country would care that i am applying for the K-1 in America. I think the problem is that they are worried i will enter and not leave, so i think i need something that proves i will be returning.

Thanks again for the reply.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresPre-interview visit?
Hi guys,

I was just wondering if anybody has any information about visiting the US before the interview date.

My fiance gave birth a month early today. The problem is my packet 3 is stuck in processing hell. We sent it out 4 weeks ago this friday and we cannot do anything about it not getting there until that day, and even then we do not know what action the embassy will take. They may just ask us to send it again.

I was wondering if it would be possible to visit just for a week or two. Until i get my interview date. Money isn't an issue i would just like to know if this is possible as i really need/wan't to be there to help out.

I don't really have anything like an apartment contract or a job contract as i am living at home and i'm unemployed at the moment. Is there anything else i can use as proof that i will be returning?

Any help would be wonderful, i really need some information.

Thank you,

Neil
