Did they give you a small ticket that says Pick Up Visa on November 25th?

Yes they gave my wife a small pink piece of paper that says "Dear Petitioner/Applicant for Case Number SAA-------, please come back for visa pickup on November 25th. Please bring ID or a copy of your passport"

@Aladdins Don't worry if DOS website says ur case is under AP, it will change to visa issue in couple days

Hi 3ammer,

I'm hoping it will inshallah, but idk maybe sleepless_36 is right maybe they scheduled her visa pickup on Nov 25th, about 2 months after her interview, for administrative processing. I'm guessing its like that for most people that try to get visas in Yemen, because it said "Necessary Administrative Processing" so maybe everyone from Yemen gets AP nowadays.

Hi everyone,

As I told you guys before, my wife had a successful interview on Oct. 9th, and was told to come back and pick up her visa on November 25th, but I just checked the online Department of State website and put in my wife's Case Number and it said Administrative Processing!?? Here's exactly what it says:

"Your visa case is currently undergoing necessary administrative processing. This processing can take several weeks. Please follow any instructions provided by the Consular Officer at the time of your interview"

That doesn't make sense! How could they tell her to come pick her visa up on November 25th and not tell her her case is in AP?

alladan congrats to everythin going on with u nd to the babies nd everyone else who got some good news . im still waitin on ap its been more then 4 months

Thank you :)
I emailed the embassy and they finally replied after saying numerous times that the consular section is closed (not true)
"When you have completed the forms, have gathered all of the required documentation, and are ready to submit your application, please ensure that you book an appointment via our website here."

How can I make an appointment!?!? It's impossible, there's no way to do it from the website all the appointments are not open.

Yeah she is going to have to go back in for another appointment for your twins. If the appointment booking tool on the website isn't working, try emailing the ACS unit and tell them you need the CRBAs filed ASAP now that your wife's visa is due to be issued in November. SanaaACS@state.gov . If that fails, I would contact your state representative or senator's office. They can at least make inquiries with the State Department about when those appointment services will be available again. Good luck!

All the appointments are grayed out on the online appointment system so I can't schedule an appointment. I tried contacting the embassy with the email you provided but i get an automatic reply that says the consular section is closed (which is a lie). And Senator Debbie Stabebow is the one that helped my wife get an expedited visa appointment, and when I tried sending her a thank you letter, I got an automatic response that said the offices of senators/representatives are closed due to the government shutdown, so I won't be able to contact anyone about making an appointment, so I'm just stuck now.

Why? Because it's US Emb Sanaa, that's why. They can and do take as long as they want without explanation. Don't fret - at least you know she was approved. She'll get her visa soon. She will need to file the CRBAs for the twins obviously so they can get their passports.
A big Mabrouk to you!

Allah yabarak feekom! I made sure she had all the documents for the CRBA and passport applications for both boys, but when she tried to show them to the consular officer he said I don't want that this appointment is for you not for them. Soooo annoying right? There's no way to make a CRBA appointment online idk what to do!

Hi what questions did they ask her during the interview? What did she bring to the interview?

They asked her what city I live in. They asked about where I went to school. Also they asked about when we met and where. They asked about our children they said who is their father and obviously she said I am. It was a very quick short interview.

She brought all the papers she sent to the NVC and she brought a bunch of pictures of us throughout our relationship. And she brought hospital records of our twin boys with both of our names on it. She also brought two 5x5 passport photos. Affidavit of paternity/maternity and residence is also required she brought that too.

Thanks. Yes she got the medical exam done and picked up the results from Dr. Almutawakil the day before her interview.

My wife was approved for a visa. She also tried to file a Cobsular Report of a Birth Abroad for my boys, but idk they didn't take the applications from her they just looked at then and copied them and gave them back. She spoke to someone on the American Citizens Sercices Section as well regarding the CRBA they said your twins are American Citizens based on their father's citizenship.

Her visa pickup date is November 25th, almost 2 months! Why do you guys think that is? Is that normal? How long does it take to get a visa stamp after an approved interview?

They said that this doctor is the best. My husband is gonna go to that doctor. Every one that I know recommended the doctor that's in taiz street. He will give you the letter probably the next day. It doesn't take long. All she gotta do is to make sure to notify the doctor that this is urgent and she has an app in three days. And make sure she bring the letter app with her. Bc they won't let her do it unless she has a. Letter of the date of her app.

But my wife did not get a letter for her appointment.  She just got a call to her cell phone telling her to come to her appointment date on October 9th.

They need everything, like the update of the affidavit of support. And her police record, she can go make an exam the same day and tell them that it's urgent. Just make sure she had everything on the list of papers that they sent you
Hey sent me a paper of what to bring

How long does it take to get the results back from the medical exam? She's gonna go to the one on Taiz St.  Dr. Abbas AlMutawakil.

Um, sorry to let you know but in the United States Ghat is a drug and that's a felony. Hopefully the picture doesn't show him holding the ghat. But that's a bad thing to send a picture. I don't think so. If I were I would just let it go and don't make it suspicious She definitely all of her papers that you sent to the nvc. Like the affidavit of support etc. and definitely the medical exam. She can not enter the us with out the exam. But disrobing , I don't think so they gonna do that

Can she do the medical exam after going to her interview? Because there is no time to do the medical exam and get the results by this Wednesday. Why does she need a copy of the affidavit of support? Do they ask for that?

Dear Sir or Madam,

Thank you for your email. The U.S. Embassy is currently closed for
consular services. When the Consular Section reopens, we will contact
individuals who have appointments during the period of closure to
reschedule their appointments.

We will respond to all other inquiries as quickly as we can when the

Congrats on receiving your interview dates! I really thought the consular section of the US Embassy is closed, but I guess not :)

hk93 and RAli33 when did you guys get contacted for your interview dates? How did the contact you? Do they contact the petitioner by phone or the beneficiary by phone or do they send emails to both?

Also did the NVC contact you about your interview date or was it the Embassy in Sanaa that contacted you?

Is anyone following the news about the government shutdown?  It says all non essential Federal Employees will not be paid, so that means most embassy workers will not be working.

I tried sending an email to the U.S embassy in Sanaa and I got a reply back that said the " The U.S. embassy is currently closed for consular services.  When the Consular Section reopens, we will contact individuals who have appointments during the period of closure to reschedule their appointments."

Yea it's the same exact thing but different dates but mine days sept 20

Have you called the NVC to see if your case has been sent to Sanaa or is your case still with the NVC?  You should call and ask them if your case has been sent to the U.S embassy yet, because when I called them after my case was complete at the NVC they said my case would be sent to Sanaa when an interview is ready to be scheduled.

If you contact them let me know what they tell.

U can call them at (603) 334-0700 and ask if your case has been sent to Sanaa yet.

Thanks.

That's like my case too it says ready for appointment

Does your case status look like this?  Ready in blue letters?  What is the Status Updated Date?

Does it say "Your case is ready for your interview when scheduled at the U.S. Consular section"?

What is the difference between your case status and mine?

I attached a screenshot of what my Status looks like.  Can you also attach a pic of yours too?  You can cross out your case number like I did if you want.  Or can you at least see if it is the same and tell me what's different?

Hi everyone,

I have an update that I'd like you guys help me understand, I was told that my case has been sent to the U.S embassy in Sanaa on September 26, and when I check on the Department of State website --> https://ceac.state.g...ker/Status.aspx it says Ready in blue letters.  And says "Your case is ready for your interview when scheduled at the U.S. Consular section."

I just called the NVC like 5 seconds ago and they said that on Sept 26 my case was electronically sent to Sanaa.

Does anyone know how long after the case is sent tot he embassy it takes for them to schedule the interview?

Writing to the US Embassy in Yemen? They are very unresponsive. And if they do respond they respond with generic automatic emails. When did your NVC case get completed? And when was your interview date scheduled?

AP is Administrative Processing.  From what I have heard from this board, mostly all males are routinely placed on AP while females go right through.  Highly discriminatory if you ask me... however, I do understand the security issues in the country so I guess this is something we have to deal with.  I believe they do look at the case further, background checks, etc.  My Congressman's representative told me today that he's heard of people being in AP anywhere from 10 days to 1year, it just depends on the case and the Embassy (how fast they want to process).

Did the congressman offer you any assistance? Give you any other info?

Oh, maybe it is not the NVC... Dept of State site https://ceac.state.g...peAKjMWCuebHqOw  You can then enter your case # and it will say what your status is.  We are still in AP :(

Thanks for the link. What exactly is AP? I know it's administrative processing but what does that mean? Do they just look at your case further? And why do some people get put into AP while others don't?

Kildee.  I wrote a letter to his office in March, this was before my fiancée was scheduled an appointment.  It was about 1 week after I wrote him that my fiancée was magically scheduled an appointment.  I'm not certain that they had anything to do with the appointment being scheduled, because they checked the NVC site to check on the status and it was at the ready status at that time.  They told me the appointment would then be scheduled shortly, and it was.

Who knows... they may tell me they can't help me but is worth a try and at least I'm making issues with the Embassy known.

Well it is worth a try. I hope they can help. How do you check NVC online Status? I thought that could only done for USCIS. Can it be done for NVC too?

Hopefully inshallah I don't think so. I think people who has there appointment would keep it and the people who missed it will be schedule and the others who case complete would have to wait a little longer. I feel so sorry for the people who are waiting for an interview appointment.

I'm expecting case complete from the NVC this month inshaAllah, and I was so excited to be seeing people getting interview dates 5-7 months after case complete instead of 9-12 months, but unfortunately now it looks like we will have to wait around a year like before.
