IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresForm of Affidavit of Bona Fide Marriage

Hello VJ fam!

Where do I find a sample of a bona fide marriage affidavit?  I dont mean sample as to content - I figure this would vary on a case by case basis, but sample as to what it should like on paper.....  Do they look like a letter addressed to USCIS and contain the word Affidavit in the re. line or do they look like court submitted Affidavits (I am familiar with the way Canadian affidavits (e.g. affidavit of service) look like)?

Thanks!!!

I am going thru same thing see if this helps.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresEvidence of a Bonifide Marriage

Hello All,

I have recently got married after my K1 was not approved. I will have a marriage certificate from a court in India, wedding pictures etc. I do not have any joint property or accounts with my wife yet. I will try and get a joint bank account but I am pressed for time in India.

Looking through the step by step guide for an I-130, I can only provide Affidavits sworn to or affirmed by third parties having personal knowledge of the bona fides of the maritalrelationship. Does anyone have a template of an affadavit?

I want to make my packet bullet proof. The rejection of the K1 has cost me a lot emotionally and financially. Any other advise to strengthen my case will also be appreciated.

Regards,

Harry

Harry, you can google them. Here is one for you.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresSpouse visa processing times

So I am going to be filing my wife's visa. I looked at the processing times and I am already depressed. VSC is 249, CSC is 234 and TSC is 150ish.

Can i have my papers sent to TSC so they process quicker? Is there any way to expedite the processing? This is going to be a nightmare year sad.png

Filing for a spouse Visa weren't you prepared for an 8 to 12 month wait? I heard Visa's going to VSC are being sent to TSC anyway. People with much more knowledge than me will comment on this I'm sure. I agree the wait is gonna suck! I will be doing same thing soon.

Hello, i am waiting my CR2 process which is delayed so I asked my lawyer to send an email to NVC

for more information about my visa then she sent the email...

and now she is charging $600 for this email crying.gif

i would like to know if this is normal in America

my father's wife said that she charges $250 for a 30 minutes conversation ranting33va.gif

and we have already paid $9000 for her to fill out our process

Wow $9000 the most I think Immigrations attorneys usually charge for the whole process is about $4000. You can use a visa service and that will cost about $1500 for all forms and NVC USCIS fees plus Medical as well as I864 fee. Or do it yourself like a load of members here have already done. Something doesn't seem right $9000????!!!!!

You only listed one G-325A.

You need two, one for you, one for the beneficiary. Make sure all the forms are originals, not photocopies/scans.

All the other stuff- send photocopies. You are not gonna get them back.

Re: chat logs.  Just take snapshots of a few from each month and paste into a word doc.

Yes I have 325 for both of us just an oversight. My problem with chat logs is that I printed what I have which is from the begining of our relationship Sept 2012 and chat logs end about end of October. I visited my wife after that and was there so much no need for chatting. We speak via phone/skype. I have ben there 5 times since October 2012. Over 160 days in her country.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresLetter of Explanation

Hey!

We sent our package from abroad 2 weeks ago, and we just recieved our NOA1 hardcopy in the mail yesterday (in France).  I included a two page letter/timeline, discussing the big milestones like; when we first got in contact, met for the first time, visited eachother, proposal, and our current living situation.  I am USC living abroad with my wife and I was paranoid and really wanted to make sure they knew clearly exactly what was going on so I do think the letter helped them understand...

Hope it goes well for you guys

Ok so it's similiar to mine. Thank you.

Good luck to you also.

Its a relationship timeline many use it. Good idea. Just a short and sweet sentence to all the milestones.

Thank you

I don't know which stage of Visa Journey you are ( USCIS or NVC stage). If you are on the stage of filing I-30, then this might be very helpful, I have read few members sending their story along with the form I-130. I did not do it.

If yo are already in NVC stage, I dont think it will add much value because your spouse will be interviewed about these stuffs during visa interview at embassy.

Good luck on your visa journey.

Thanks

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresSignature on G-325A

You can take a chance from having it not signed, yes.  Or spend money on a courier service.  Yes those are your options. smile.png

Gotcha, but what I meant was there is an incorrect spelling in my wifes name on the bottom.

Yes the beneficiary should sign their own completed G-325a.  It should be their original signature.

so my choice is DHL from her or take chance on RFE?

The DS-230 form is the one she needs to sign, just the first part, not the last part, that's done at interview. The DS-230 form comes at the NVC stage.

ok but how about the G-325A?

MarkGeneferMalePhilippines2013-08-17 18:22:00
IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresSignature on G-325A

There seems to be a lot of debate on whether you need to have your spouse sign the form before sending to USCIS. I am filing I 130. I got my wife to sign before I left the Philippines and only now before sending realized that in the box at the bottom of 325 spelled her first name wrong!! So I have heard different viewpoints on this. Need to have her orig signature don't need to. I have seen a directive saying it doesn't have to be signed until she appears for her interview at the embassy. I guess I could send it like it is and realize I may get an RFE. Worst case in that I guess is it sets us back a few weeks. Any opinions?

Thanks

And for Dominican Republic, it is advised that you (the petitioner) should be present at your wife's embassy interview.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresG-325 not filled out correctly by my spouse

She mailed me me her filled out and signed G325 from the Philippines..But she put down Honolulu Hawaii as her mother's current City and COUNTRY residence...

Ive read the if you make a mistake, start all over with a new form..So I should have her send me another filled out and signed G325 form from the Philippines? This will delay our process at least another 3 or 4 days..Or can i leave the form as is? Or maybe white-out the mistake and fill in the correct answer (Honolulu USA)? Any quick thoughts

I had a similar problem. Though it was my fault. Before I left The Philippines I had my wife sign the 325. We both never realized that at the bottom where it asks for her full name I added an extra letter in her name. So I called USCIS. They told me use correction tape and as long as the correct spelling is on all other docs should be fine. We shall see.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresDumb g-325a question

Her current name or her current family name that she is using, that's the first box on the G 325a form.

Below that it says All other names used, there you will put her maiden name and all other names she used by previous marriage.

Your post is a bit confusing when you said your soon to be wife then you said if she should put her married name. If she is married before and divorced, she should put her current name that she is using.

Good luck smile.png

OK, let me say this. We will be getting married shortly. I will file a bit after the wedding. So that was my question. She has never been married.

Hello VJ, I know theres an I 130 that can be filled out online then downloaded to my computer for printing. I did this once before but now need to make changes. I printed it already and deleted the pdf from my computer. I have looked in a load of places including the USCIS site. Possibly I'm overlooking it. Does anyone know where I can find it again?
