K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsNOA2 Recieved but no Nvc number yet ...????

Hi all i Recieved NOA2 almost a month ago no luck with NVC yet any oct vjs have recieved the case number ..CSC i guess the snail mail process ...

Hi there..based on the timeline, the latest date of NOA2s from CSC that NVC received as of today are from Sept 27-Oct 3. TSC are way faster in sending their cases to NVC. Don't worry yours might be in NVC by next week but just keep calling and hang in there. All of us here are going through that process.. Mine was October 3 and I called this morning, the lady said that they don't have it yet then, I tried again this afternoon and voila, the guy said that they just got it and in the process of entering them in their system so I have to wait for few more days for the case number..

It is such a waiting game but it's all worth it..smile.png

A few updates today, looked like 10/3 - 10/4 were received today.  Try calling again in a few days.

there you go.. they even had the 10/4 NOA2... it's moving!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsNVC - still haven't received approved petition!!!!!

Hi Guys,

I wonder if any of you have had the same experience. We got our approval notice on the 24th October and I emailed the NVC around two weeks later to see if they had recieved the petition. They replied today and said they hadn't received it yet from the USCIS and that I had to email them the approval so they could chase it up with the USCIS. I therefore called the USCIS and they said we have to wait 90 days before we can call, despite it stating 30 days on the notice.

I was wondering if anyone else is having a problem with the NVC receiving the petition and if so how long did you wait.

Many Thanks
Claire

Hi Claire,

Mine was also processed by CSC. NVC received my file around 6 weeks from NOA2. Hang in there.

Goodluck!

 I would like to share to you guys my interview experience.

- I arrived at the embassy 6 am and the line was already long. They let us in around 6:30... they checked my passport, ds 160 confirmation page and appointment letter. They will give a ziplock plastic to put your passport in.

- As you enter the embassy there's a security check. Food, water and gadget are not allowed.

- line up at the Ticket booth to get your queue number. And they told me to drop my appointment letter at window 39 and wait for your number to flash on the screen.

- at the waiting area there's a small canteen wherein you can buy food and eat at the waiting area.

For now, prepare the documents that your fiance will be needing for the interview like ITR, police certificates, etc...

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresAffidavit of Support but Unemployed *URGENT*

If your joint sponsor meets the requirement of the poverty guidelines for Affidavit of Support,(http://www.uscis.gov...form/i-864p.pdfthen I guess you will be fine. My parents were joint sponsor of my uncle (retired) when he filed his petition for his married daughter with 2 children. No questioned asked and that family was now here in US. So, it should be true for your case as well..

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresVaccinations BEFORE medical

What vaccines are need? Thank you =)

Hi, I got this from one of the links made by a K1 applicant from our country. Here is the link for your reference.

http://philippinefia...com/review.html

And to quote her:

"Done with the vaccinations after 11 minutes. I got 4 just like what the doctor told me on my 1st day of examination. I got TDap, Hepa B, Flu, MMR
I was given this pre and post vaccination notice/precautions
The nurse kept my receipt then instructed me to go to the ground floor to get my results
The vaccination shot doesn't hurt when the nurse administered those to me except the Hepa B which was painful.. then the after effect of the hepa B vaccine and the other 1 that I couldn't identify which, is still a bit painful after 20 hours as of now.
So I got 2 shots on my left and right arm"

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresI-134 tax returns question

You probably need to include your ITR and W2. Your W2 will give them an idea of your own annual gross income. Also, to be on the safer side, include a Certificate of Employment from your company indicating your pay rate/hour and/or annual income. All you have to prove is that your income meets the poverty guidelines.

Please read this link I've got from your consulate website. I hope it helps. GOOD LUCK!

10. EVIDENCE OF FINANCIAL SUPPORT: K-1/K-2 principal and derivative applicants are subject to
INA 212(a)(4) and must demonstrate to the consular officer's satisfaction that they will not become a
public charge. The enclosed information sheet, Optional Form 167, lists evidence, which may be
presented to meet this requirement of law. The affidavit of support to be submitted must be Form I-134
and must be accompanied by the most recent year?s tax return form. Co-sponsors should also include a
copy of their US passports or green cards to their I-134 form.

AFFIDAVIT OF SUPPORT

Persons in the United States who desire to furnish sponsorship for an applicant in the form of an affidavit of
support should use Form I-134, Affidavit of Support, available from the USCIS offices or the following web
site: http://www.uscis.gov.../form/I-134.pdf. Sponsors may also elect to furnish a statement in the form of
an affidavit sworn to before a notary public or other official competent to administer an oath, setting forth his
or her willingness and financial ability to contribute to the applicant?s support and reasons, in detail, for
sponsoring the applicant.

The sponsor?s affidavit should include:

1. Information regarding his or her annual income;
2. Where material, information regarding his or her other resources;
3. Obligations for the support of members of his or her own family and other persons, if any;
4. Other obligations and expenses;
5. Plans and arrangements made for the applicant?s reception and support;
6. An expression of willingness to deposit a bond, if necessary, with the USCIS to guarantee that the
applicant will not become a public charge in the US; and
7. An acknowledgement that the sponsor is aware of his or her responsibilities under the Social Security
Act, as amended, and the Food Stamp Act, as amended; that the affidavit and supporting
documentation may be made available to a public assistance agency. (The provisions of the above
laws are contained in form DS-1858, Sponsor?s Financial Responsibility Under the Social Security
Act, and printed in Part III of the instructions for Form (I-134)

The sponsor should include in the affidavit a statement concerning his or her status in the United States. If
the sponsor is an American citizen, the affidavit of should indicate the date of naturalization, the name and
location of the court, and the number of the sponsor?s certificate of naturalization. If the sponsor is an alien
who has been lawfully admitted into the United States for permanent residence, he or she should state in the
affidavit the date and place of admission for permanent residence and the alien registration number which
appears on his or her Alien Registration Receipt Card.

To substantiate the information regarding income and resources the sponsor should attach two or more of the
following items to the affidavit:
1. Copies of his or her latest federal income tax return;
2. Copies of his or her latest W-2 forms
3. A statement from his or her employer showing salary and the length and permanency of employment;
4. A statement from an officer of a bank regarding his or her account, the date the account was opened,
and the present balance;
5. Any other evidence adequate to establish financial ability to carry out his or her undertaking toward
the applicant for what might be an indefinite period of time.

If the sponsor is well established in business, he or she may submit a rating from a recognized business rating
organization in lieu of the foregoing. If the sponsor is married, the affidavit of support should be signed
jointly by both the husband and wife. Affidavits of support should be of recent date when presented to the
consular officer. They are unacceptable if more than one year has elapsed from the date of execution. A
sponsor may prefer to forward his or her affidavit of support directly to the consular office where the
application will be made, in which event the contents will not be divulged to the applicant.

Note: An applicant who expects to meet the public charge provisions of the law through the
presentation of an affidavit of support is encouraged to forward this information sheet to his or her
sponsor so as to assist the sponsor in preparing an affidavit.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresQuestion on Form I-129F passport details and advice on checklist. Thanks!

1. Hank is right, no need to include your birth certificate (beneficiary) but everything else in your list are good to go.

2. You may want to include duly signed petitioner?s Form G-1145 e-Notification of Application/Petition Acceptance, only if you want them to text/email you for acceptance of your petition.

3. I don't think that the beneficiary (you) doesn't need to fill in the passport details since you are NOT currently here in US which is exactly what the form has stated.

goodluck and hope our info helps.

If we fill out the forms and mail them in the next few weeks, my boyfriend will be here in the US visiting but is leaving on Dec. 8.  Does that mean we would fill out question 15a-h?  I assume we would, but wasn't sure if that was applicable to short visits or if intended for a longer stay in the US.  Thanks!

Hi, definitely yes. If he is still here in US on the date that you file/mail it then you have to fill out those questions regardless of the duration of his stay,

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresDS-260?

I am feeling rather perplexed and very stressed.  After receiving our NOA2 my fiance and I consulted our lawyer.  She said that I need to fill in the details of a DS-260 form.  I emailed her back saying do you mean a DS-160?  She said that it could be the DS-160 or the DS-260 or both.   I thought the DS-260 was for people who were already married?  I am so confused now and I don't want to be sending in the wrong form or filling in needless forms.  Can anyone help please?   Thank you in advance.

Check this link of Dept. of State http://travel.state..../news_4413.html

Department of State Transitions to DS-160 for K Visa Applications

Effective immediately, all K visa applicants are required to complete the DS-160 Online Nonimmigrant Visa Application. The DS-160 replaces forms DS-156, DS-156K, and DS-230.

For K visa cases already in process at a U.S. embassy or consulate, the DS-160 is not required when, prior to October 7, 2013, one of the following situations exist:
  • The K visa applicant is already scheduled for an interview.
  • The K visa applicant has already been interviewed and has been requested to submit additional documentation or is pending administrative processing.
  • The K visa applicant has already submitted a valid, signed, unexpired DS-156, DS-156K and/or DS-230 or received instructions to do so.

Hope this helps...

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresCase Number

HI GUYS,

I am firstimer here..and i am really needed help from the eexpert here too...

my petiton was approved on last october 21 and it was said that as soon as my petiton approved they will sent it to NVC..but until now it hasnt written in my case if they sent it already or not...

i was just wondering because as my friend case, she received notification that her papers were sent to NVC 3 days after her papers were approved!

thank you...

Hi and welcome..Mine took 5 weeks from CSC to NVC

Oct 3 - NOA2

Nov 6 - NVC received my file from CSC

Nov 7 - got my case number

Nov 8 - CEAC status says " IN TRANSIT" to Consular Section.

I got all these information through calling DOS and NVC. For now that you have NOA2, prepare all documents that your fiance/e will be needing during the interview. Tell him/her to stay/ eat healthy, get a lot of rest, be stress free, and pray for smooth processing. Keep yourself updated with timelines by checking this community. Share your thoughts with us. Enjoy the journey..smile.png

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresThrow in the Towel and Move to Fiance's Country Instead?

Thanks Sharkano! Yes, that is the timeline we originally thought too. But CSC is now saying 8 weeks (although I think you are right about it being more like 40 days for most people, we are on day 33), and the NVC told me directly that when they receive it from CSC they now have up to 90 days to forward it to the Embassy in Norway. So, feasibly, it "could" take a full 5 months, but fingers crossed it doesn't and it just is the 5-7 days. Just trying not to give in to false hope thinking things will go quicker.

We do have our congressman's office involved, and did file an adjudication at the NOA2 process. We are now considering paying the money for an attorney just for peace of mind. But I will say that our congressman's office has been VERY responsive and helpful. I spoke to CSC this morning to inquire about when the NOA2 will be forwarded to NVC, and they had zero information to give me. I relayed this to my congressman's office, and they called 20 minutes after I did and found out it actually had been sent on the 25th of October (the NVC apparently just hasn't gotten it, although its hard to tell- the girl I spoke to there this afternoon was super rude and hung up on me). So, I guess there is progress.... but because of all the weird bumps along the way, it just is hard to tell.

Thank you all again for the responses, I really appreciate it smile.png

Hi! A VJ member from Finland just updated his timeline. His NOA2 was dated Oct 1 and already received by NVC yesterday! Mine was Oct 3 and I called DOS this morning and told me to give it a try next week.. Actually, I am getting excited now and just hanging in there..

Just like what other says, you are still lucky to have a choice between here in US and Norway. It is true that regardless of where you are, as long as you are together it should be more than enough but then in my case we are both better off living here in America.

Whatever you decision will be, I wish you the best of luck and happiness.. but why don't you give it another week...
