K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	Check cashed, but no NOA1	Filed my K-1 Visa about 10 business days ago and just got the check cashed notice from my bank today. Oddly enough, I haven't gotten my NOA1. I know there's an issue with the timelines for NOA1 right now, but wanted to rant a little since it's about all I can do. Anyway ... just thought I'd share in case anyone is in the same boat. I hope this is normal. Still early in the process, so I'm not breaking down totally yet. No need to worry. Did you look on the back of your check for the WAC#? That is the way you can track your petition. I never received a NOA1 in the mail, but I did get the number off the back of my check and can track my status. I have asked about this topic on VJ and the reasoning is as long as the USCIS has cashed your check, you should be ok. Go to this information page, it will help. http://www.visajourn...p?showtopic=300 Try to get the WAC# off the back of your check and go to the USCIS site and register. But I got the WAC#### off the back of my cancelled check and have the same notice you have. Eventually you will probably get an official NOA1. K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	Starting to worry	Hi all - Should I be concerned that I sent in my I-129F packet over 3 weeks ago and that my check has not been cashed and I have not received anything yet? USPS confirmed the delivery but there was no requirement that they 'sign for' the package. USCIS says not to call unless it's been 4+ weeks. From all I've seen and read on this site, it sounds like everyone's check is at least cashed in a timely manner. Starting to worry... I would not start worrying right away. Apparently there are a few delays at the service centers right now. There have been people on VJ with your same problem and they did end up getting their checked cashed and NOA1. That was not more than an hour after getting the lame November story from CSC. The relief is beyond words. I want to thank all the kind people who have offered their support the last week. I received two identical emails for the approval. I got a touch on Friday, so I was going to start really paying attention on Monday. But when I checked email this afternoon, there it was. They informed me that as of this morning I am approved with NOA2. They said the website will be updated today to show "Approval Notice Sent." I asked the woman if she was 100% sure and she said yes! K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	March Fillers under CSC	I don't know what is going on at CSC. I gave up trying to figure them out many weeks ago. It is useless and too stressful for me to try. All I know I am at 90 days and waiting. I am praying for our NOA2 anytime now. I really think this is the worst part of the VISA process; waiting for NOA2. At least when it goes to the NVC and then on to the embassy, you are couting down the days intstead of counting how many days you have been waiting. It is kind of weird to see fellow VJ'ers getting NOA2's when they filed two weeks after me; however I am sincerely happy for them. But in the long run and the big scheme of life, one of these days this will all be behind Sao and I and we will look back with empathy for the people then going through the long and stressfull process. After NVC sends the package to the embassy, everything moves so quickly! We can finally see a light at the end of the tunnel. I am still in shock! USCIS Service Centers	California Service Center	Just an update: Got a letter from one of the Senators in the post today. Reads as follows: Dear Ms. Tiffany Thank you for your recent correspondence and for bringing this matter to my attention. The decisions of federal agencies have a direct impace on the lives of many Texans. For that reason, I understand the importance of this issue to you. As your United States Senator, I am happy to offer my assistance. Accordingly, I have contacted the appropriate officials at the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services and asked them to provide a response to your concerns. I will write you again as soon as I receive their reply to my inquiry. I appreciate having the opportunity to represent you in the United States Senate and to be of service in this matter. Sincerely, John Cornyn United States Senator So...yeah...not exactly what I expected. As I'd mention - my letter wasn't really expressing assistance in expediting my case in particular (at this point), but more discussing the difference in processing times and the overall length of the family based visas. Also worth mentioning - I did expect to hear from this one over the other Senator as he is up for re-election next year (convenient). I think it is fantastic that you got a positive response from your senator! At least the USCIS will be getting some kind of attention from a U.S. Senator. Now I have decided to draft a letter to my Senator this weekend. My letter will be asking the same question of why CSC is taking so long on K-1 Visa's. I won't be asking for help on my particular case, but bring to his attention the difference in processing times; not only between CSC and VSC, but why other types of Visa's, are given more priority. Just think if a dozen of us would write letters to our Senators. USCIS Service Centers	California Service Center	Thanks for all the inputs here at this thread. I hope this thread will continue and grow. I never thought that I would get so many responses. Thanks Daisy for all of you information. We can call our Congressmen and Senators, but I fear that if changes are going to be made it will take a long time. Most likely long after we are finished with our petitions and this is all behind us. Nothing happens fast with the U.S. goverment, especially changes. The goverment is always happy with the status quo. They forget or don't care how much of a personal thing this is to us. They are dealing with people's lives, but don't even realize it. It is a shame that this country is bringing in 25,000 Iraq refugees and begining the process of legalizing the illegal immigrants that are already here in this country. While we go through the legal process of bringing our loved ones to this country and get put on the "back burner". It just isn't right. However, we are dealing witht the impersonal goverment machine that only listens to who shouts the loudest. And right now immergration reform is getting illegal aliens legal, not improving the process of getting persons that are applying for entry to this country legally. It is really a screwed up situation that if it ever gets fixed, it will probably not be in our lifetimes. Sorry, for seeming so gloomy and pessmistic, but am I on the right track with what I am saying? USCIS Service Centers	California Service Center	I am sure by reading this forum and others everyone already knows that CSC is slowing down on their K-1 petitions. In fact there are threads concerning this. I wrote my attorney yesterday to ask a few simple questions; one of the questions and his answer I have copied and pasted below: 3. The date showing on the petition on the USCIS website is 03/12/07. Do you think we will get an approval by 06/01? A) The California service center is slowing down in the last few months, so I would anticipate an approval notice around the end of June. As you can see above he has verified what we are all talking about. CSC is slowing down for some reason. If he is right I will have to wait for four months for my NOA2!!!! I am sorry, but I am getting so tired of seeing VSC getting the K-1 petitions done in two or three weeks. As far as I am concerned the VSC filers should have no complaints about the process unless their petition is lost or destroyed. They should be happy that they are not dealing with California. Now CSC is starting to take four months! How can things be so %#&* up? I mean my petition could take up to eight months! I am sure I am not the only one in this boat, and I feel for all of you guys too. I hate feeling so helpless! I hate not having any control of this! I know I am just venting and I apologize. As far as the VSC filers; nothing personel against you guys and I wish you the very best. It is just this wait is wearing on me big-time. But I know I will endure and get through it some way, even now that I see it is going to take longer than expected. USCIS Service Centers	Writ of Mandamus - Should we consider?	I am not sure if I am posting this topic in the correct section, but since the writ of mandamus is towards the USCIS, I suppose it's appropriate to post here? I know that this writ of mandamus is a legal action the federal court can make to enforce any US government officers to adjudicate / process a petition / case without delay, if the case has been beyond a normal processing time. My boy friend and I considered filing for this to the federal court. Even if USCIS would still deny our application, at least the court can force them to mail us a hard copy letter saying that our case has been denied. So that we can re-file, or appeal. I have a post in the K1 section which I have provided bits of pieces about our K1 journey. http://www.visajourn...showtopic=54723 My time line basically is as the followings: I-129F sent by my boyfriend: end July 2006 Receipt date of NOA1: 31st July, 2006 Last touched: 14th September, 2006 Touched: 13th Feb, 2007 Touched: 14th Feb, 2007 8th Mar InfoPass appointment: Told by immigration officer by person in the infopass appointment the application was denied 13th Feb Touched: 28th Mar, 2007 Received a letter from USCIS early April: Spelling mistake of beneficiary's name corrected Received 2 identical letters from USCIS 13th April: Your case is currently at the california center and should receive another update in 60 days - no RFE so far What do you think? We could get a Pro Se package from the federal district court which the package is intended for citizens to file law suit by themselves. Any one has filed a writ of mandamus before??? When we send in our telephone bills to show proof of a relationship, is it ok to black out phone calls that are not to our fiancee'? I make a lot of telephone calls and I really don't want more people than necessary to know who I call, even goverment workers. Has anyone done this when they send in their phone bills?
