if you marry abroad and live together for 2 years there and then intend to immigrate to the USA you get a greencard. However you will not get a greencard just for marrying overseas now... What do you want to do? You can start the process a little faster with a K-1 because it is paperwork and no marriage yet...

NVC dates don't line up with USCIS date always... I found out my K-1NZ was at the NVC by letter and by the time I checked it, it was already at the consulate abroad.

Better to hound the Auckland Consulate until they receive it...

I went to a Yankees game where I had pictures of us in the stadium, the tickets, and a parking pass

NOA means Notice of Action. in the K-1 process you will be getting 2 of these.

1st NOA is recived during the initial filing, after you send your petition and the Service center cash your check, they will send you an NOA to let you know that they got your petition and will further process.

2nd NOA is recived probably about 4-6 months after initial filing. NOA2 is the approval notice, this letter will tell you that they approved your petition and will forward your petition to the National VISA Center for further processing...

depends on the adjudicator, however there is plenty of time before any decision will be made. As long as you both were honest on the petition and future applications it should be fine.

We would have filed earlier but we were busy and it turned out with an RFE she didnt get her EAD until 4 months after her AOS was sent

National Visa Center (Dept of State)out of order
I recieved a letter from the NVC that they have my approved I-129F. It gave me my new case # and said that it would be forwarded to the consulate. This was dated May 9th though I recieved it on may 12th. On the 14th I called the NVC automated service and it said that there was no case file with that number. Later I called back and talked to a human (Lisa) who said that the packet was shipped out to the consulate on the 8th!

That afternoon my fiance called me and said that the consulate had called her to verify the address to send her packet 3. Wow, I get the letter on MOnday and by Wednesday not only is it already at the consulate but they are probably sending out packet 3 today already. Things really do move fast after NOA2

Fortunately, her mom works for the State of Rio (it is a city and a state) and knew some people. there is a very specific report from the police that you need... The long and short birth certificates are concerned with U.S. birth certs. You should check if your country has different types of birth certificates.

When she receives packet 3 can she prepare everything and personally bring the packet to the Embassy or does she have to mail it in?

My fiance recieved packet 3 today. She said that she got these forms:

OF 230I (?)
DS 156K
DS 230 part 1
I-864 affidavit of support

She was confused cause the instructions said that she only needed to fill out 1 form and send it in and then take the rest to the interview though there was a form missing apparently from the checklist.

The I-864 she won't need until the interview (correct?)... how is different from the I-134?

Is she supposed to fill out a DS 156 Nonimmigrant Visa Application and a DS 156K Nonimmigrant Fiance(e) Visa Application?

Which forms does she need to send in immediatly for an interview date?

Her medical is tommorrow.

Arghh... getting close but more frustrating
