Africa: Sub-SaharanAdvice On Police Clearance And Interview.
Hi Everyone. I am still waiting for my NOA2 which is due to come at anytime soon. I will need to go to South Africa to get a police clearance cos I use to live there. I do not know after getting my NOA2 whether to book an appointment for an interview date before going to get the foreign police report which will take 28 to 30 days at most or I should go get the police clearance before scheduling an interview date. Please guys I want to know which one is better because of time factor. I am presently in Nigeria. Your responses will be appreciated.

Thank u very much Oladana. From what you just said it seems I will get my police clearance before I will schedule an appointment for interview. South Africa is valid for 6months but it takes 28 days to get it. How long does it takes to get the Nigerian one? You said I should get vaccines in South Africa? I didn't quite get that. I thought medical and the vaccines are strictly to be done here in Nigeria? Please can you enlighten me on that. Thanks.

Africa: Sub-SaharanBachelor certificate Nigeria
I am in Ibadan at the moment and I am applying for the K1 visa. I have not heard of the bachelor certificate before since I started this journey. Is it now compulsory to submit it as the beneficiary? If you know more about it please let me know so that I can go find out how is done and where to get it. Is this really compulsory or is optional?

Thank you Dwheels I will do just that. I am actually a May filler from Vermont transferred to Texas service center. My timeline is confusing people and I just don't know how to get there and edit it to Texas. Thanks for the tip.

@Gowon and Aus077, I hope to call the embassy on monday but I doubt that cos I have not seen anyone whose file was sent to embassy from USCIS without going through NVC.

We got our NOA2 Oct 15th and had been calling NVC for case number at least twic a week but they told us that they have not received our file yet from USCIS so the supervisor adviced my fiancée to call USCIS she called them today and spoke to a supervisor who told her that our file has been sent to the consulate directly without going through NVC. Is that normal? Had anybody experienced this before? Is almost 2 months since we got approved and I heard the petition is only valid for 4 months from the date of approval. Please I will like to know if anyone had experience this in the past. Thanks every one.

@Ebunoluwa. Thank you so much for the information. That comes as a huge relief. @Gowon. I am not talking about Nigeria police report I meant South Africa as I lived there before. The one I did was dated 20th November so one month is out of it already though I have not left Nigeria since I started the visa journey and they did not write when its valid for but I just hope I do not need to get another one because the Nigerian one is valid for only 3months and I did it at Iyaganku for 7k not 5k like u adviced me earlier. Any body out there with any experience about a foreign certificate?

I have been in Nigeria since I filed the K1 nine months ago and I was able to get the police clearance via the help of a courier service and it cost a lot. So I just was to be sure I will not be told to get another one. It took 2 months to get our case shipped to NVC and I am still waiting for case number at what point do we extend the petition to keep it valid and which department do we contact for that? As for the Lagos in my profile I thought they were asking me the city I live in so I guess I will change it to my fiancée's?
