I will need to go to South Africa to get a police clearance cos I use to live there. I do not know after getting my NOA2 whether to book an appointment for an interview date before going to get the foreign police report which will take 28 to 30 days at most or I should go get the police clearance before scheduling an interview date. It will make things faster and we May filers are definitely going to use the electronic process. It seems VSC had really slow down on approvals. I saw this information from a forum where a CO was answering questions by applicants and posted this information as a Breaking Newa which was released today. I think is a good move and it will make things faster I also think it involves people filing for K1. You guys can go through it: NEWS: Effective September 1, 2013, the DS-260 Immigrant Visa Electronic Application and the DS-261 (Choice of Address and Agent) will replace the paper-based DS-230 Application for Immigrant Visa and Alien Registration (parts I and II) and the DS-3032 (Choice of Address and Agent). Beneficiaries submitting new cases that arrive at the National Visa Center (NVC) from U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) on or after September 1 will be instructed to complete the DS-260/261 in lieu of the DS-230/3032. Please see http://www.travel.st.../info_5164.html for more information. This is part of our move to "go paperless" and stop killing so many trees. I'm sure it will be confusing at first, but it's just like what the Non-Immigrant Visa Units are already doing, with their online applications.
