It seems 921 Marshall Ave
Williston, VT 05495 is a depot location. Would someone from USCIS pick up from there on Mondays?

The address was correct but somehow there was a delivery exception. Is it normal practice to have deliveries just dropped off at the USCIS office without someone to sign for it? I added the signature required service to the delivery so I have proof that it was delivered, but for some reason it ended up at the Depot in Williston for pickup.

I sent in the I-129F application Saturday and it was delivered early on Monday to Williston Vermont. Is that the same as Saint Albans????

I don't know who to call and how to find out, but it causes me alarm because it doesn't say Saint Albans, VT. A G.Merrihew signed for it.

I am not worried as much about income right now, as much as I am for the time I have had this job, been at this address, and had my bank account.

Because it's a new job, the first 3 months it's 27,500. But I am just about to go to 28,000 in april, and then 2 months after I am elligible to get an further increase to 30,000 if I am able to meet and exceed standards. Then I am at 30,000 for 1 year and can go up to 35,000 on the next review October 2007 :D

It's a really good job that has great potential for a good foundation to support my new family. Thats why I took it.

I just moved from Las Vegas to Pennsylvania (which is why I am using the Vermont service center now!) So the speed of the service center is reknowned, but even though thats sounds exciting, it also puts a bit of worry on myself. Moving to Pennsylvania was in order to get a new job were the one I had in Las Vegas didn't work out previously and I began to sell Hot Sauce (of my own making and bottling) on the side and went to school until I could hopfully find a better job somewhere.

Well I have been working now since January 9th 2006.

In the experience of those who are applying for a K1 visa between the USA and Philippines, what evidence do they usually want with the I-134? I have a new bank account, but it is still a bank account. I can have probably about 6 months worth of pay stubs, and I can get a letter from my work place certifying my employment and salary which is more than twice the poverty rating they require. Will this be enough? I don't really have anyone I could use to co-sponsor.

Also, Might I run into problems in the future if I have't had to file for Taxes for the last 2 years previously due to low income, and being a student?

I get home from a bad day at work, turn on the PC and webcam, my baby comes on so we can do our nightly chat, and I decided to check my e-mail. 4 messages. 2 of them from the USCIS. Sudden knots occur. But then almost as suddenly absolute elation!

From the USCIS website and e-mail:

"This case has been approved. On April 13, 2006, an approval notice was mailed. If 30 days have passed and you have not received this notice, you may wish to verify or update your address. To update your address, please speak to an Immigration Information Officer during business hours."

... wow

Now what? Am I going to the postal place to send a copy of the I-129F package to her? Or the one with the originals? (should I send an original certified copy of my birthcert in the package too?) What do I need to do from here now that it's on the way to the NSC and then Manila?

I am so excited and happy right now that I almost feel pukey. lol!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresHmm... NVC seemed very rude.
I just recieved a letter showing that the NVC has recieved my approved visa, and I called in because on the notice had my fiance's name mispelled entirely. Far beyond any typo I previously had and called the VSC to correct weeks ago. So I called in to try to correct it and the operator seemed very rude and condesending and told me it wasl already sent back on the 18th to Manila. Is this common with the NVC? Now I am extremely worried that my case isn't being treated with any respect or care.

How long is the manila embasy taking most recently to process the visa and schedule an interview?

I have some other questions too. Does my fiance need to have a valid passport before the interview, and also copies of birth certificates for her interview? How many copies? It seems a common trend that we keep having to correct her name, she is getting hastle from the govt there to get her passport because she had to correct an error on her birth certificate. Now it's been resolved, Manila keeps wanting the corrected copies of her birth certificate, so she doesn't seem to be allowed to have one for herself. Can she ignore the request since she is coming here anyway?

Would it be better if she contacted the manila embasy to make any corrections that may need to be made to her package there?

How many ways wrong can you spell Elaine? They seemed to have found about 8 so far.

Also, if I ever do get through, how much do they charge in order to check the status?

I really would like to make sure they have the case, and maybe see about how long they figure it would take to process it.

4. The Department presently has no information about the

send additional questionnaires to the petitioners

inquiring about their possible criminal backgrounds. When
the petition is compliant with the IMBRA, it will be
returned to post from USCIS through NVC for processing.

It says it right there plain as day. In order to feel satisfied I MUST ask. Will I recieve at my mailing address the questionaires, forms etc. that they are creating and forcing on us?

Up until I read that i was not sure if I would have to track the paperwork down somewhere/ or print it up from the internet. Ill be pleased if it IS sent to me in the mail.

which could take added weeks or months for them to even get around to mailing you these things. That is the problem I have. Especially if these forms require you to have to go to some sort of clearing house to fill out information for the background check. ESPECIALLY if they require ANOTHER fee!

ok, I am reading that. But this doesn't address my immediate concerns. That is just a "group-lets get through this" thread. It is not a, "you are effected by this, and how" thread.

It doesn't answer the question of if the I-129F form I used (from here) was not the proper one after all. It does not answer the question of how to do this silly background check.

I am a conservative, but I have to say: Damn this stupid presidency!

So what I see from what I read on it from the link you posted. They are taking into action that if petitoners have a criminal record they are going back to the NVC for review. If that person really loves that person it shouldn't be about the record if this is correct what they are saying.

Jose

No, it's requiring a background check to see if there is a criminal record, and then if there is decide on what to do based on what that crime may be.

It's even the backdating of the requirement for the background check that is the problem here. Not if there is a criminal record. For those that have one, that is another step once they get past the shock of being delayed for possibly months and months longer because of this stupidity.

I hope that made sense, I am so mad I have already spat.

There are no concrete answers because nobody knows. Anyone who got an NOA1 (correct me if I am wrong) after March 6th is affected until it is figured out.

Frankly though, drastic changes in immigration are seriously needed right away. But things are set up to be so untouchable that there is nearly nothing we can do about it. K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresAccused of rape

OK NOW;
I have NOT asked anyone to judge the man I love!
I KNOW he NEVER raped anyone. And he told me about this story right after we met so I knew it all the time.
I HAVE BEEN raped twice and by God I know Jim is NOT the type of guy who would ever rape someone.
He is the most gentle and loving man I know.He takes my son who's got ADHD and is really difficult to deal with the way he is and doesn't treat anyone badly.
This "woman" was simply pissed off at Jim for NOT doing anything anymore after he told her he didn't want to see her anymore. And then she turned around claiming he raped her and on top of that that she was pregnant.
Now how come there's no child????? How come she never sued for child support?????? How come she never showed up in court???? How come there was no medical evidence that she WAS raped???
Sorry people but I KNOW my man and I kow for reason that I surley wont discuss here that he would never rape anyone and never did.
I know exactly what I'm getting myself into with that man and I know he's the best thing that ever happened to me and my son!!!!!!
I love him with all my heart and so does my 5 year old.
As for losing his job,
his BOSS told me it had nothing to do with his work performance, they simply didn't have enough work anymore and since he was the last one hired he was the first one to go.
Cable and DSL,oh well....he's a man and after all it's HIS money.
And as for him chatting with other women, hey as long as he's just TALKING who cares????
It's MY life and I love him and I know he loves me so why is it that people think they have the right to judge someone they don't even know???????????
I asked a simple question regarding the new I 129 F form that's all.
I don't want nor do I need someone to lecture me !
Thanks to the few that didn't and just gave me advice!
NAT

All I asked is that you not judge HER. Unless you were in the room you have no idea what happened. You know one half of the story and I doubt very seriously whether he would confess to you if indeed he had raped her. You are living in a fantasy world and if you don't want others to judge you or your SO then you certainly do not need to pass judgement on the girl who claimed she was raped. You not only asked advice but made statements against the other party. It sounds like this guy is Mr. Perfect and you might just be a bit desperate. Yeah, right.

LS

Well lets be more realistic folks, rape victims, while even well intentioned, tend to have "tendancies" that we would consider a malfunction. Ultimatly misery loves company. Nothing against you Nat, thats not the intention here. But the odds are against you. Yet, you are still free (thank heavans you are still alive) to make choices. There is no need for judgement, nor looking to find forms of judgement to "prove your case" and vindicate ignoring what you know deep down inside as possible red flags.

Do as you will. But as a community of many who has seen much, there is a set pattern that many of us see. We want to be your friend. To be honest, by the fact we know you exist, there is a great ammount of love we have for you. We want you to be great!

So please just take the comments by those of us who have less tact (including me) as just fair warnings. Please evaluate your life and your situation very carefully. Questioning your love, and your partner is NOT a bad thing! It is very wise to constantly question it so that you can be absolutely sure up until the minute you are scheduled to tie the know that he/she is the safest choice to lift you up and build you up the rest of your life. This social taboo of questioning "love" and other such nonsense is a totaly vile tradition and leads to many battered spouses, beaten children, and divorce when "the real person comes out" after the papers are signed and the doors are closed.

I hope and pray that you are humble enough to just give it a try and put aside being caught up in this long moment and avoiding some critical questions that should be asked, and more time spent to know this person.

Well honestly, I recommend you be as detailed as possible. In this particular area, too much information isn't a bad thing unless you don't have any evidence to support it. So what you do have, pictures passport stamps boarding pases, etc. of the times you met in person, write about that.

Please don't misunderstand my tone here. I have nothing against you personaly. You are at least a bit younger than the DOM's (dirty old men) out there who give America a bad name and the foreign girls to think they can take advantage of it by practically selling themselves to get out and get nice things.

I wish you luck, as I do everyone in a relationship like this. I hope you ARE the exception to the trend. I do know a couple. Ones who truely seek out an equal partnership through life and serve each other out of total love. It does happen. But unfortunatly the opposite runs rampant.

Just out of curiosity I was wondering how the immigration officers look at younger couples applying for a K-1 visa. Do you think it sways there decision? My thought is that I'm 23 and my fiance is 24 - of course we would wait if we were both citizens of the same country but he is my soul mate and i love him very much - the only way we can be together is if we get married. Whats the avarage age of people on here who are in the situation of a K-1 visa?

I'll probably get blasted for this due to some visitors of this website falling into this

While I am apposed to marriages outside of a 10 year age difference across the board, (80% are a disaster due to vast generational gaps and differences. There are exceptions 20% of the time.) I am sure it is refreshing for them to see couples that are closer to each others age range, and both younger. Much less "Jerry Springer" for them to have to deal with in their jobs. But as far as effecting the visa process at all, no law is in place to effect that.

18 is not a magical age. So why it is still legal for a 40+ year old megalomaniac man to marry an 18 year old girl is beyond me. Otherwise, why have the age of consent at all? It's just a form of legal pedophilia to me.

Backwards logic to me. But whatever, it's your life, ruin it as you like.

Sure maybe they should not allow interracial relationships and even lets go as far as people of differant faith also.
Who is to say what a person feels for another?
Love comes in all differant sizes, shapes, colors and ages.
The way i see it is if a person is mature and of legal age and is able to know what they want in life there shouldnt be any restrictions put on them by any outside entitys.
I am 39 and my fiancee is 19 we started as friends and after chatting for 2 months we found that we started falling in love with each other. Did i ever think i could find someone so much younger than me compatible with me ? NO but it happend and i am so happy for it happening. Some people think, oh what can you possibly have in common?
1. The desire to be loved
2. We both want strong family values
3. Video gaming (even at my age i am still a gamer, always will be)
4. Botany and gardening
5. sunsets and the one you love on the beach
6. poetry
These are only few things we have in common, me and my fiancee talk every day 2 times each day for 4 hours each session and not 1 time did we not have very fun and loving conversations. At the end of each talk session we both hate saying byeee because we want to be together so much, she send's me messages all day long even she knows its 1am,2am, and i get up for work at 3am.
At first i felt weird about the age differance like i was doing something wrong, but she told me age is only a number and means nothing as long as you have love.

You are right about everything love comes in, except the age issue in terms of the kind of "love" you are talking about. I love my best friends daughters. That doesn't mean I want to marry them and control them.

I hear the same excuses/reasons/rationalies from all older men who marry a younger woman. Nothing is new. "She has an old spirit" "I am young at heart" blah blah blah. If you think a fantasy world will be able to cope in reality, go for it. You may be the 20% that make it. But, there is nothing new here. You echo almost exactly what other older men say. It may feel good. But not everything that feels good is really good in the long run.

But it's also a selfish thing too. Not only are you taking away this persons time to be in their 20's and go to school properly. You are treating them like they are inferior the remainder of their lives, and God forbid they westernize and become a bit more independant. That would take away the older mans control. Even more forbid, the children that result in mariages of this type. I find if selfish, foolish, and irresponsible, as well as a form of pedophelia. But whatever, 18 is somehow a magical number and you can be 60 and still marry an 18 year old. That is the world we live it. As I said before, i don't really care. It's your life, risk ruining it as you see fit. Society is to blame for these rules, not common sense. Right?

Ghandi had 8 year old girls bathe with him he called "little fishes" when he was alive. Live the fantasy.

I have learned just how much more I love my fiancee each day, and how lucky I am to have found her. We both have rougth edges and quirks, but we compliment each other and will grow together to lift each other up. So all of this is mere childs play in comparison to the excitement we have to live out our lives together and all of the triumphs and failures we will have along the way.

While it's frustrating for me not knowing what is going on (as in the feeling robbed and violated feeling of frustration), it is all still ultimatly worth it.

I am out of the philippines, so if this needs to be moved, ok. But this is for K1 visa.

After all this though, I have forgotted what the final fee's will be for the medical exam and the interview itself.

Was it $155 for the whole thing?

Any other fee's I need to know about outside of the airport exit (ransom) fee?

If you asked me where i would want to live London or Greenwood,IN there is only one place. LONDON. She felt she could not leave her family and i could earn well in the US. Hence the reason we got this far.

She feels that its too much pressure and that getting married is not right for her at the moment. Thats fine its just that i cannot continue this long distance anymore as much as i love her, its getting me down.

I am sorry to hear about what happened. This is my greatest fear after all my fiance and I has been through one of us might just have had too much and have to end it. We are/were two very strong people, and this whole process has changed us. But we still love each other and we still want to be together. I know I refuse to give up and I know she does too. But just know I feel for you.

Also know I give a big ditto to your comment about people making snide comments easily behind their big monitors. Especially when they know they have an easy target on their hands during and/or after a tragic turn of events you just happened to want to share.

Just know you'll have two types of people here. Real jerks who's own life is worthless unless they can make yours more miserable. While the others are real, honest, flawed, compassionate, loving people who are just people trying to get by and understand how you are feeling right now. We are with you man.

Life goes one, right? The world is a big place, yeah?

Well even with those affirmations, I am sure it may not seem like much help right now. But make that your mantra.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresI am starting a prayer brigade for non-stop approval of NOA2s especially for those who have long been waiting and for all other approvals you
Heavanly Father who art in Heavan, Hallowed by thy name. We ask the to please bless and consecrate our
applications to be safe and expediently processed by the officers at the USCIS and the various Embassies of the world. We ask the in thee name of Jesus Christ, and by thy lent power to soften the hearts of those who need to do this work, and help to keep them humble and brilliant. Please let them know, that even with the setbacks, we are still greatfull that they are there. Father, we are too greatful to you for helping us find our dearly beloved, our precious partners, in whom we cherish as we do thee. We thank thee for all of thy blessings and we hope to use thy gifts to please thee. We say these things in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

IMBRA Special TopicsSent the RFE back- here's hoping
Well I sent the RFE in the mail, here is hoping it get there safely, and things start processing through.

It's been just slightly under a year since i was last able to see my Fiancee in person. Luckily we use skype video chat so it could be worse. But I really wish she was here!

I estimate that it will take 3 weeks and 3 days to get the case back to the embassy if everything is processed through. THen once at the embassy it will sit for 2 weeks, then they may schedule the interview a month in the future, so I am probably looking at a Late October/November final interview.

IMBRA Special TopicsUSCIS direct to Embassy?
I thought it had been said before. All petitions and corespondance between Embassies and the USA go through the NVC only. ALL of them. Without exception. Not really sure why, but someone must have wanted to create a job for themselves, and there ya go.
