K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reportsour story

I'm gonna write this and go cry my guts out in the shower,I just seriously hope that our story helps someone.
My SO and I got the package together in July of 2010.He sent the stuff in June and got the NOA in sept.
EVERYTHING went slow for us,it took us 135 or so days to get approved but we didn't find out that we were actually approved until about a month later when I contacted CSC via email.
He got the noa 2 and the hardcopy of our new case number from NVC about two weeks later and the embassy received our case in December.By the time the embassy had our case he had request a letter of deployment from someone high in his chain of command.we did not get this till last week.He sent a letter to request expansion on our noa 2's approval date but low and behold,UPS lost it.So long story short,he gave his part of packet 3 to a friend to mail it for him and the friend has gone MIA and I have a feeling that this packet will get lost just like the letter.
So here I am,being as miserable as I have ever been in my whole life, waiting on an email from embassy to see if we can fax another letter to request expansion cause thats literally our last hope.
I am risking my sanity and health over something so stupid.I can not go through this whole process again consider how the quality of the service USCIS is offering is getting lower and lower every single day,but that might be the last resort.
I guess the moral of the story is...don't worry if you're past the three months mark and your petition hasn't been approved, just pray to dear lord and St.Jude that you don't get in a situation like mine, cause you'll look back at USCIS days and laugh at it.

PS:If you are going to comment and suggest that I give up or find another spouse, save it,cause I have had with rude and bitter comments from members who are already done with this process.

Hello Ygr! I will just call you the way i used to call you. Im so sorry to hear all these. I actually cried the moment i read this bcoz i can feel how you feel and I've been following your journey. The packet 3 is all about you anyway. The packet 3 is just an instruction. Please folow this link that might help you. http://turkey.usemba...ions_101510.pdf I really wish to be able to help you. patient2010 has answered ur question (tnx patient2010  )....just bring ur vaccination (history) record and the doctor at medical will determine and/or explain what vaccines u lack/or not.(we dont necessarily have the same shots needed anyway) If vaccines have prevented women or has proven complicated pregnancy then perhaps this could have been eliminated then....so chilax... am no doctor but thats IMO B-) ...call me vine :luv:

Hello deVINE! :)

Ok. Thanks again for always being there. I have read about vaccines that's why I'm worry wart.

MMR is measles mumps rubella and Tdap is tetanus booster shot...You will need those to enter the US. Also many people have gotten the vaccines and have had babies....just a thought :innocent:

actually, i literally have my baby vaccination record with me and had requested the healthcenter (my town)to certify them...sorta updating since the record has been 3 decades ago. :innocent: The medical center wont keep them, only used as reference.

I was given 2 more shots at Polyclinic-Dxb (MMR and Tdap). No sweat

Note: MMR are 2 shots with months in between.... i recommend if u have time to do the 2nd shot before u fly here, have it done there and bring ur record as proof. Its so expensive here... (did my MMR 2nd shot here @ $70.00..at least a lot cheaper in Dxb)

be here for ur questions.. :star:

Ohhhhhhhh you're heaven sent! :innocent:

By the way, what is MMR and Tdap? Last April, I had a HepB first shot and i didn't go for more shots bcoz my fiance told me that it's not good for me and we're planning to have a baby right away.

Thank you soooooooo much! (L)

at least for iranians abu dhabi embassy and ankara embassy both require an international vaccination card.you take the vaccination card your pediatrician took track of your vaccines on to your main vaccination institute and ask for an international vaccination card, this will come handy back in the states too.if you havent gotten chicken pox, there is a vaccine you have to get.they will inform you and take care of it if youre missing.
as far as vaccination goes, the chemicals that are injected to the body dissolve after a while, hence you have to redo some vaccines specially heps

not sure if u can get away with (anymore)vaccination being a requirement before entering US.

like you, i had only vaccinations as a child. i requested for certified copies of those and showed on my medical to determine what other vaccinations i needed.

Medical in Dubai is a breeze comparing to those am reading at St. Lukes, Ph. Highly recommend u to have it done at The Polyclinic- Deira. 3 hrs of medical with the result in hand.

best of luck....nd tnx for the add. :star:

Hello JSVP08!

Thank you sooooo much! That's really great. I will request for certified copy of my vaccinations too when i was a child. It's very helpful. Thank you for your input. I will surely ask you for some more infos along the way since you processed your visa here in Dubai. Please stand by for me. :star: You're my angel!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsVaccination
Hello visajourneyers! I am currently waiting for NOA2. I just want to ask about vaccination. I'm sure I had a vaccination when i was a little girl but I didnt have any vaccination for anything since then. I seldom get sick. I actually read about having a vaccine which is more of bad side effects later in life. Just for example the hepa B vaccine that contains chemicals aluminum hydroxide and thimerosal. Aluminum is a metal that is injected in our body. Does it sound right? It's scary! It is also very dangerous to anyone who plans to have a baby because it can cause brain damage to the baby and many more. How can I apply for waiver for this vaccine or any vaccine? I am not into modern medicine and I'm more into natural medicine. Any advice?

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresPolice Certificate - Singapore

Hi I just received another reply from Singapore Consulate:

My follow-up question after the initial question was:

"So what about the visa requirement which requires this? Does this mean I do not need Police Certificate from Singapore anymore?

I can accept this but would the NVC accept this? "

The reply that i got says:

"Yes, since this is the what the Singaporean authority is doing. "

I can forward you this email to whoever needs this. Let me know. PM me.

I can safely say, you are not required to have Singapore Police Certificate anymore (IF you are non-Singaporean citizen), this is latest development, Please make sure you have exhausted every source in confirming this. As for me, I will print this email as reference.

Hope this helps someone out there.

Hello everyone! Here I am again. I just want to make sure that I am well prepared for interview. I recently requested a letter from CNCC office Singapore that they no longer issuing a CNCC to non-Singaporeans. I got the reply below.

Dear Ms Macy,

We refer to your preceding mail.

2 Please be in formed that The Singapore Police Force has cease issuing the Certificate of No Criminal Conviction (CNCC) to non-Singapore Citizens with effect from 18 Oct 2010. Please see theNOTIFICATION on our website at www.spf.gov.sg/epc/cert_issued.htm

3 You will have to check with the Foreign/UAE authorities/embassy what are their requirements.

4 Applicants who do not qualify for a CNCC, may consider an alternative of applying for a Statutory Declaration through the Commissioner of Oath or qualified legal practitioner or lawyer to declare that they do not have criminal record during the period of their staying in Singapore. However, please note that this is subjected to the acceptance by the requesting authority,

5 Should you require further assistance or clarification, please contact the Certificate of No Criminal Conviction (CNCC)/Records Office at telephone numbers (+65) 64358409 or (+65) 64358410.

They offered an alternative but the US consulate is specifically asking for Police Certificate and if not available then just proof that they are not issuing anymore will be enough. I agree with you!

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresI'm Worried about the medical

Hey friends,
I'm little worried now. I done a thorough blood checkup as a preparation for visa medical interview.I found slightly elevated bilirubin count. The doctor said nothing to worry, there is no jaundice to me as most people might have a slightly elevated count.
But he said it might be a problem in my visa medical checkup as they can't give a fitness certificated due to this.He is not sure.I don't have any other issues.....Do u have any idea ABOUT THE visa medical procedures and will it be a problem to me which can cause the visa denial?

You still have chance to improve your health. Eat healthy food: more vegetables and fruits, less meat, less rice, and less curries. I know for sure that indians love curries. I love curries too! You can go back for check up again before your nOA2 arrives. Goodluck and wish you all the best!

That's sad to hear. Try to drink pure lemon juice for few days. It will cleanse your system and so your blood. I think your eating too much turmeric, too much is not good and toxic for the liver. If fasting is possible, do so. Try to eat more vegetables esp. green leafy vegetables and cut down rice and curries. Lemon is acidic but it breaks down into alkaline. I think your blood ph is below alkaline. I have learned about this recently from my fiance. I can't promise it will change right away but it will certainly help in time. Goodluck! I hope it will be OK. :star:

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresJust about ready to send K-1 Petition Packet

You read that someone got an RFE for not including a copy of their passport, even though they included the birth certificate?
I've already put the packet together and in the envelope. Is this really necessary do you think? It clearly states in the instructions to include either a copy of your Birth Certificate OR, if you do not include that, THEN do the passport.

I am thinking this might be better saved for the interview stage....is it really necessary to obtain a police certificate for the additional petition? Neither I or he have police records btw..

Ok. Everything seems fine. Goodluck & Godbless!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresJust about ready to send K-1 Petition Packet

I am finally ready and about to send my K-1 Petition Packet. I am so nervous. I've triple checked everything but I am still afraid I am forgetting something. Here is what I have:

- Cover letter with table of contents, signed and dated
- Payment - check for $455
- Form G-1145
- Form I-129F, signed and dated
- Supplement question to I-129F Q 18, have we met in the past two years. I give a list of our ten meetings in the last few years and explain I have been in Mexico on an extended visit since June (I didn't say I am living here - I technically am not b/c I am just on a tourist visa. I didn't want to confuse things too much)
- Copy, front and back, of my US birth certificate
- Form G325 A filled in for me (petitioner) with my passport photo, signed and dated
- Form G325 A filled in for fiance (beneficiary) with his passport photo, signed and dated
- Letter of intent to marry (one for me, and one for fiance) each signed and dated
- Photos of the two of us during various meetings (About 10 photos)
- Proof of meeting. I separated out the proof from our most recent meetings (June and Feb of 2010) and put the most detailed information for that - passport stamps, boarding passes, receipts, etc. Then for our earlier meetings from 2007-2009, I just put in one or two things from a few of the trips in those years (not every one because I did not save from everyone, but a boarding pass from a trip here, an itinerary or receipt from another trip).
- Proof of ongoing relationship: Half a dozen e-mails from the last two years and 3-4 recent Skype records and some older phone records I had. It is kind of spread out (some stuff from 2008 and then stuff from 2010 but not a lot in between, because I thought I was going to file a lot earlier than I did so I stopped saving for awhile). I hope it doesn't look weird. I know I didn't have to put that stuff now but wanted to front load.

Does it sound like I am missing anything or does it seem like I am all set? I am sooo excited but nervous and scared I missed something and I don't want an RFE! My biggest concern is that my fiance's address on the 129F is different from his current address on the G325A, because we want all the via stuff to go to his parents house which is why we listed their address on the 129F. This shouldn't be a problem, should it? We also don't have street numbers for two of his past residences...but we do for all others...I hope this isn't a problem.

Thanks for all your support everyone...I know this journey is just beginning!

I think you should add in proof of on going relationship some letters from any of your family members or friends who are aware of your relationship since the start and stating the dates too (name, address and phone number). And police certificate if possible. Goodluck! :star:

thanks a bunch for the reply ygr. we just got her MNL number by paying the $18 and calling in, and we were told just to print the confirmation e-mail that would be sent following the conversation. now, nobody take my word for this as we might find that they really want that darn letter on interview day, but our gal on the phone said the printed e-mail will take the place of the letter. police clearance must be on most folk's mission critical list- i tend to agree on that one. my gal spent some time in a foreign country so besides the NBI clearance she needs one from the other country. thanks again for your input ygr- most valuable.

does she need both NBI and barangay clearance to take to the interview???

NBI or National Bureau of Investigation covers the whole Philippines so you don't need barangay clearance anymore. Goodluck! :star:

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresForms To Take To Fiance On First Visit

Hello Everyone ! I will be visiting my Fiance for the first time on October 25 in Iloilo City , Philippines . She has never been married and does not have any children . I am wanting to get a little ahead of this long journry and take the proper Forms with me for her to complete and also , I would like to ask what we can do while we are together to speed up this process ? I do know we need the proof for the I 29F . Was just wondering what Documents we should get while I am there concerning her . She has never been out of the Philippines . Thanks Everyone ! Good Luck To Us All !!!

Hello!

I am from that area too! Just follow the K1 visa journey guidance and you'll be on the right track. http://www.visajourn...t/k1guide#proof Prepare all the documents needed like printing all the the forms. Read the instructions together for I-129F and fill out the form with signature and date. Make sure you prepare a letter of intent and fillout the G-325A together with signature and date and don't forget a passport photo for both of you with signature and date behind. That was my mistake before and it will save a lot of time and money. In proof of meeting, you can take a photo of both of you reading the newspaper that shows the date. Or if you have time to go to BOracay you can take photos at the sandcastle that has a date. Try also to take photos that shows the address for example a shopping centers in Iloilo City. When you change a dollar to peso or when you go shopping try to keep all the receipts. And when you check in a hotel, request to put both of your names in the receipt. I think that's all for now. Double check everything before you leave Philippines to make sure that your fiancée signed and dated all the documents needed from her. It will help you a lot. Goodluck and Godbless in your journey. :star:

I think two of you just need to sit down and talk about it before making a final decision. Every relationship has its own ups and downs. True love can stand the test of time and even distance. Hi everybody,

You wont believe it, but we sent our check named to U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services- USCIS and not US Department of Homeland Security!! :o
For some reason I did not see this info on the K1 guide, and was just reading some posts some minutes ago, and saw a post regarding to that!!! Do you think we are trouble because of this? Are we going to get a RFE???? :(
Our package was sent off yesterday, and it hasn't even gotten there yet. I am so worried, please your comments on this!

Thanks in advance, everyone!!

I think they will return the check back to you. But don't worry the moment they open your package, it is the first thing that they will check and will be sent back to you as soon as possible.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresNever "met in person" - disabled

I have tried a waiver on this case before when I first applied for K1 visa and IT FAILED! I provided medical reports and a letter from my physician that I couldnt fly but it didn't work! I have a heart disease (almost the worst case in US history) and I am a survivor. I never travelled outside the states before so everyone is conccerned. But I did anyway after the first K1 visa was denied. I risked my life flying to the other side of the world. What the Love can do huh? I am not suggesting you to do the same just do what you think is good and possible for both of you.

According to USCIS decision, they does not mandate that the petitioner must travel to meet the beneficiary. The requirement simply states that the parties "shall establish" that they have personally met in person during the requirement period. The petitioner, who applies for benefits on the behalf of the befeciary, must meet the requirements under the section 214(d) of the Immigration and National Act.

I suggest that you should meet anywhere like Canada but I understand it will be costly too. I hope everything will work out soon. Goodluck and Godbless!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresNever "met in person" - disabled

Meeting face to face is one of the "biggies."

Petitioner would have to prove extreme hardship to get the meeting requirement waived. A certification by a physician that the Petitioner is not able to fly would be helpful. If it is just that the petitioner would be uncomfortable may not be enough. The petitioner does not have to travel to the beneficiary's home country. They could meet anywhere. Note that there is no mention of hardship to the beneficiary.

From the Foreign Affairs Manual:

9 FAM 41.81 N6.4 Petitioner and Beneficiary Must Have Met

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresNever "met in person" - disabled

Hello, I hope that someone among you has some information to help me on my way.

My fiance and I have been pen-pals for about 3 years, and didn't see it as a romantic thing until about a year ago. We can provide emails and chats as evidence of our connection, but there is a problem.

It specifically asks that I prove we have met in the past 2 years, but I am physically disabled and unable to fly overseas. The Fiance Visa is the alternative - a method to allow Her to come Here for us to meet. So how do I go about an exemption for this? We have plenty of time face-to-face in video chat but I somehow doubt they will accept that as "in person."

Also, as a disabled person, my income is a bit below the 125% margin for the I-134, and I will have a family member joint-sponsor.
I know it requires the I-864, but does anyone know the filing process for this? Do I file that Before the I-129f is approved? After? And does it require other additions?

Since my only income is from Social Security Disability I have not had to file income tax form the past few years.I had checked with the IRS and they assured me that I did not have to file. From what I understand I must submit recent tax returns. What should I do ? I don`t expect to get the NOA2 for a few months yet. Should I file a 1040 now just to show I had filed a return and to prevent any delays ? Any advice you can pass along would be appreciated

Is the one living with you now a minor? Is she or he included to receive benefits as well since you are in disability? You can include the child support as well if the SSDI alone is not suffecient. If the child living with you is a minor, you can include withholding order for child support and write a statement that explains why you do not have to file income tax. Include also the last 12 bank statements that showed your benefits direct deposited into your account. And don't forget to attach the statement of award from social security. My fiance is on disability since 2009. I am also in this situation and have read in previous posts here and someone was approved. My fiance was a self-employed before so I ncluded the form 1040 from 2007 & 2008. I have read that Philippines don't accept a co-sponsor. I hope everything will work for you. I am currently waiting for my NOA2. Goodluck and Godbless in your journey!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresSecond Fiance Visa Question
Being in a relationship, you should be very open and honest to each other. Communication is very vital in a relationship. Knowing your past is important for the future but ofcourse past is past and you have to move on with your life with the present one. You can't do anything about the past but you can do something for your future... to do things right and learn from the past. It's better for her to know now about your past than she will find out later from others and regret. If she really loves you, she will accept your past and love you more. Love is lovelier the second time around right? So Goodluck and Godbless in your journey! :star:

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresPetition Rejection!! Need Help!

I received my package back today saying that the petition had been rejected because of using an outdated I-129F form (I used the example from the K-1 guide, not realizing there was an expiration date on the form). I now notice that the link to I-129F above the K-1 guide is what I should have used. The question I have is this...

They sent my entire package back to me (less staples and paper clips). The check, pictures, evidence and all forms are here. Can I just redo the I-129F form, put it back with the package and send it all back? The reason I wonder is because there is a line of information printed down the right edge of every piece of paper I sent them...it looks like I-129F, the date, and coding of some sort. Also, the check looks good, but simply has their USDHS and CIS stamp across my handwritten "U.S. Department of Homeland Security" on the "pay to" line...everything else on the check is intact.

I am really hoping that I don't have to do everything over again (over 100 pages worth and also the forms with her signature on them)...I just need to know if I can send everything back to them since it has the stamp on the check and the numbers on every piece of paper...Has anyone had experience with this???

Thanks in advance!

Im sorry to hear this. Just fill out the new I-129F form and double check everything again just to make sure that everything is fine. It's just a small bump. Goodluck and Godbless in your journey! :star:

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresExtremely important for newbies K1 visa

Dear all,

USCIS don't care about pictures. They said the pics are secondary evidence and they have to be film dated not HAND dated. They also said in the RFE that emails, chats, phone bills, bills...are irrelevant and unacceptable. They also said Flight itineraries and undated boarding passes are not acceptable. Finally, they said please submit copies of passport pages showing name and stamped entries to the beneficiary's country. I suppose dated boarding passes are acceptable. This is extremely important as I didn't know this stuff when I first submitted and got a RFE. I don't think anybody should get RFE for something like this. So guys, listen, I told you this exactly from my RFE paper. Hope my RFE becomes NOA2 now.

Have fun.

They are asking for (highlighted above) bcoz they are trying to find the proof that you have met within 2 years. About pictures, they dont really focus their attention to that bcoz in modern ways now you can make a picture of you together without seeing each other in reality. I really hope you'll receive your NOA2 soon! Hang on there, it's coming your way!
