K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsGot approved!!!! God did it !!

Hello guys!! Remember me? The guy that missed his interview yesterday cos of traffic in lagos. Hey guys !!!!!! God has done it for me. !!!! Got approved today. Lol. After I came back from the embassy yesterday I knelt down and cried to God.I fell asleep while praying still with my suit on and the songs of praises in my phone was on. A call woke me around 1.47pm and this male voice told me that he just saw the email of rescheduling that we sent and he was touched. He asked me to come for an interview today and he sent me an email to confirm my appoinment for today. Got there today around 5am for a 7am interview. Just like a movie , I got approved. Who said there is no GOD?

dancin5hr.gif WOW!!! Congratulations. There is a God and if one does not believe in God this process will certainly change that.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresShould I Get a lawyer involved because of this RFE fiasco?

Should i Get a lawyer involved because of RFE fiasco? RFE was issued on July 30th (which we only found out by calling the USCIS!) and still not received anything is post even tho its supposedly been sent twice now. Have a infopass meeting on Monday but got a feeling it will be waste of time and they will just give us the same "we will resend" rubbish they said before. This has turned it to a fiasco and has added a month to our overal wait time unnecessarily.

From experience I can tell you that it can be just the case of a wrong zip code. My fiance' called USCIS and waited for over an hour to speak to a tier 2 and have the address checked line by line and as it turned out the zip code was incorrect simply because the person was too lazy to enter the correct zip code. There is also no point in involving a lawyer he can not help you anymore than you can help yourself. Speak to a Tier2 and check through your address.

How would they know if it's an easy or hard case without looking at it? Once you're already looking at it might as well finish, since from the adjudicator Q&A info here, easy cases take like 15 mins. So chronologically is the only way to do it fairly.

I would have to agree with you on that statement 100 %.

Who knows how the order of petitions are approved but I wouldn't be in favor of having to do them in order. That would needlessly hold up easy cases for hard cases/RFEs. Anyways, while I was waiting for my approval I saw my timeline estimate fluctuate multiple times. The only important thing is if your case is in or out of USCIS estimated time frame. I don't know if Texas ever updated to show a time frame for K1 but in general their goal is approval within 5 months (until the end of the 5th month). If you get approved earlier then great, you are lucky, but there is no use contacting any congressman until its been after 5 months. All you will get it your case is still in the normal timeframe. USCIS did a post a while back that Vermont is no longer processing K1, ones there will be transferred to Texas and new ones will go straight there. What Vermont is doing is sending batches of cases to Texas until they are completely gone. Transfer is a good sign, many people were approved within a month of a transfer (myself included). Realistically I wouldn't expect your fiancé to be here by Christmas, you still have about a month left until approval, then a few weeks to a month for the case to go to NVC then embassy, then another wait for embassy to schedule your interview. Brazil has a bit of a wait for interviews, averaging 50 days from the date they get the case. In my case I got NOA2 on 7/10 and the interview day is 10/8. Then after the interview it's about a week wait to get the visa. My guess is everything done in January but good luck and hope its sooner!

Thanks for the information!

Yes, it is what it is. I knew what it would be like from the beginning and my fiancee and I are both resolved and committed to whatever it takes. That doesn't mean I'm not going to complain about it lol. I am amazed by fiancee's positive attitude all the time. Talking to her and her daughter is the highlight of my day and always improves my mood and outlook. I am hoping to see them here for Christmas, but we shall have to wait and see. I wish you all good luck also

Yes, I realize the purpose of the timeline, that's not the point. I was merely pointing out it has no significance on those who have been transferred. Your statement is generalized also about waiting two more months. I have seen people waiting much longer and much less. The approvals at Texas seem to be all over the place. Like they just dumped everything in giant hat and started picking them out.

I did write a letter to my Senator but I have about as much confidence in that as winning the Powerball. I don't mean to sound negative, just being realistic.

I noticed that also from looking at recent approvals there seems to be no order according to filing dates and NOA1's, as to when our case will get approved. Total incompetence!

Filed the petition for my fiancee back in May (5/14/2013) and we received the NOA1 shortly afterward (5/22/2013). Then came the waiting game, and nothing to amuse me but the timeline here. I finally receive news from Vermont Service Center on 9/04/2013, and they tell me our paperwork has been transferred to the Texas Service Center who has jurisdiction over our case. Now our timeline dramatically drops, and we are now 3 days past the timeline (Based on timeline data, your I129f may be adjudicated between August 23, 2013 andSeptember 9, 2013*.) . So I am wondering if this timeline has any validity left for us since we are no longer at Vermont and apparently there is no timeline for Texas Service Center on I-129F petitions. Four months to realize you have no jurisdiction on a case? What a CF.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsI-129F Petition transfered from Vermont to Texas

Just received a letter this afternoon (even though I am signed up for electronic updates) that our case has been transferred from Vermont, to the Texas Service Center. I almost had a heart attack when i got home and found this letter. We are now a week into our projected timeline of approval for NOA2 (September 3 through September 27) and I have been expecting good news any day. To me, this seems like another delay. I'm sure they probably sent a stack of us there and a few of you got these letters also. I'm just trying to think of a positive spin for this.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresSupporting evidence for I-134

That is my feeling now also. I am a little p/o about all the hoops to jump through but it will all be worth it in the end.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresSupporting evidence for I-134

So, my fiancee and I are in disagreement about what is needed as supporting evidence to send with the i-134. To my understanding, all that is needed is last year's Income Tax transcripts, copy of the W2, Three most recent pay stubs, and a letter from my employer. She is insisting that I need to contact my bank and also get a statement from them with the date the account was opened, the total amount deposited for the past year and the present balance. There seems to be a lot of conflicting information on here.
