yea but it even says on the SDQ consulates web site that "based on your medical history the physician will determine which vaccines are needed..." So if they come with a vaccine history they'll be better off...

Hey... YMR... where should i tell her to get the Police Certificate... i heard that it wasnt really at the Policia Nacional but instead the DGII or Procuraduria or some ####### like that... you know how cops and buscones lie to get one dollar over there..

She has to go to the Postal Office at La Feria the Procuraduria is running the process inside if the postal office building. The process is quick, she will get it same day. There is not buscones there, she would have to do that by herself. She has to bring the cedula, 1 pic and RD$330 pesos. Certificate is issued same day.

Checked USCIS and noticed that we recieved NOA2 for Baby's I-130 and my wife's I-130.

I dont know if it was the expedite request or just a stroke of luck.

By the way the K3 was not approved to date, not even touched.

Any ideas on what are the immediate steps i should be taking... I'm already working on the vaccines cause there's no way in hell i'm coughing up $345 per person on vaccines, she'll do them with a local hospital or clinic and bring proof.

You have to wait until the Consulate contact you, the documentation would go the NVC now and your relatives are going to be contacted later.

vaccines at local hospitals, please, here they only provide the vaccines to newborns for free, for adults you don't ge them for free. The consulate only accept medical records from the Consultorio de Visa that is the only clinic the has a contract with them.
Good luck here in this country everything means MONEY

QUOTE (gumbo992 @ Oct 26 2008, 10:07 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Need some experienced advice. My finance and her son are living in the Dominican Republic. I have submitted the I-129F forms on their behalf.

I have received the NOA1 and I am now waiting on # 2. I know I maybe thinking a little ahead, but I was wondering at the embassy interview. Is it necessary to have the child accompany us to the interview? He’s is listed in the application.

CONFUSSED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. headbonk.gif

If your fiance son is older than 14 years old, yes the son has to attend to the interview, if he is younger then he doesn't have to attend. But your fiance has to fill out one form for her and one form for her son.

K-3 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresA MESSAGE TO VERMONT
QUOTE (Lee L @ Jul 13 2008, 01:26 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
I write this with the hope of catching someone's eye at Vermont. As you may or may not know, there are a number of us waiting for months and months to be with our spouses due to this wait for petition processing. Here on this site it is plain to see that engagement petitions are often approved within half the time it takes for those for actual spouses. I am not questioning fairness - but I am questioning logic. I am married - which means I ALREADY have made the commitment to place myself responsible for my spouse, both emotionally and financially. This responsibility is extremely difficult to honor from here overseas and I would spend this time with her waiting in her country if I could, however I am not independently wealthy so it would prove even more detrimental to our marriage than this distance. Not to mention that seperation from her is heartbreaking.I know there are many elements at play here - politics, bureaucracy, etc, - but take this as a plea for the consideration of the numerous families that are being kept apart during these long wait times for petition processing.

Thank you,

Lee L

I am under K-1 just waiting since last December, I am with you and I hope to get somebody attention at Vermon Service Center.

If the interview letter has the forms that the beneficiary has to fill out, this is the packet 4. Packet 4 are the forms and the medical letter.

K-3 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresCan my husband scan and email his documents to me?
QUOTE (sardes @ Dec 29 2008, 12:36 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Hi,

I am preparing K-3 forms. It has been a month since our K-3 was approved. But we haven't heard anything from the US Embassy in my country. They emailed back to me and said because they are very busy they haven't reviewed the files that they have received. I assume they got our file (NVC forwarded on the Dec 8th) but not in the system yet. We hope to get the interview date in February, so I want to send everything next week. I don't want to wait packet 3.

My husband is preparing these; I-134 Form, 2007 tax returns, 2007 W-2, signed letter from my husband's employer, 3 most recent pay stubs.

My question is that if my husband can scan all these documents on the computer and email me? Thank you so much!

All this have to be original documentation, scanned documents looks like photocopies.

Save your money, if I remember right it's like 1000 bucks or more so just stick with the I-130. From a prospective of which one is faster, your talking a matter of 30 days or so and a cost savings of over 1 grand. Plus your husband will be able to travel, work and be naturalized sooner then with a K3. This forum is a good resource to ask questions and no question is to stupid. This will help you speed your I-130 right through the NVC by having all your paperwork in order. Good luck in what your descission is.

Thank you for the advise I just want to make sure I do things right. And we just want to be together, I'm sure you know how hard that is being away from your other half . So your saying that really the only difference is like 30 days or so. It's not that bad. Although it'll feel like for ever.

I don't know I've heard so many horror stories about how slows the process of the I-130 is and that minimum it'll probably take him to get here is like 2+ years. Thats cookoo. unsure.gif

Process in general are running faster now here at the Consulate.

Id advise seeking a lawyer, one who will do it pro bono, just to get a legal adv on this one. Since #1 she was already denied AOS bc of trying to comit visa fraud by filing for AOS after entering with the intensions to marry while on a non fiance visa....and #2 since she overstayed.

We get married on Nov 2006 and wasn't on US, it was in Dominican Republic. Also we always tried that she never overstayed her visa making travel to DR but I think that was the problem because they also said talking about her Visa that "The service did not issue you the authorization to take up a long-term residence in the US. So in my opinion they never said she was trying to commit a fraud.

entering the US with the intention of getting married on a non fiance visa, is visa fraud. Even if it wasnt meant to be. You even stated it yourself she entered on a B-1/B-2 visa with the intentions of reside and inmigrate to this country....that IS visa fraud

What I stated was what they put in the letter. But do you think she will have problem now??

So my only option is find a lawyer for advise??

I would recommend you when the times come to jump for a CR-1 visa, so you don´t have to go thru the AOS. Since you are in a K-3 that hasn´t been approved yet when the times come, just change it. This is my recommendation. good.gif Good luck.

My parents went to collect their pass ports yesterday and they have got a two months single entry visa. i have never heard before that local consulates grant such short visas. the visa clearly says the stay as "two months". visa type is still B1/B2. Does anyone know about this kinda visa? is it something new?

my question is this kinda of visa extendable once entered into the US? the visa has an expiration date as 9th May 2009. Pls reply

Consulate here in DR does that, including 1 month visa too for people traveling for short training or music bands players performing 1 time in US.

Sorry for that decision but one your parents use this visa, they can apply for a new visa maybe for your son first year birthday.

I had 3 times 3 months visa. Later on 5 years, then 10 years.

You have to request access at USCIS website and you can see if your case has been touched.

And also we were a bit unclear when my husband will get approval to move to the US, is it when the I-130 or I-129F is approved? Or when the whole thing is over?

When the whole thing is over.

pushbrk is correct.

You just used the wrong terminology in your post.
You are already married so a fiance visa does not apply to you. The K3 process is the filing of a I129f petition (for a nonimmigrant visa) and a I130 petition (for an immigrant visa).

With With both approvals you will have to make a decision. You either pursue the nonimmigrant K3 visa which is associated with the I129f petition OR you abandon the I129f and pursue the immigrant CR1 visa associated with the I130 petition.

The reason for the K3 process is to give people an option that will allow their SO to arrive in the US a little faster. However you should also consider that with the K3 visa you will have a non immigrant visa which will require you to go through more paperwork and fees to adjust status.

The CR1 visa is an immigrant visa and the extra cost and steps associated with the K3 do not exist.

These days the processing times for the K3 visa and the CR1 visa are not that large of a time difference so many people opt to wait the little bit of extra time (if any) so that they will not have to go through the extra paperwork and the SO will have the greencard upon arrival in the US.

It may be worth it to abandon the K3 as pushbrk suggested and pursue the CR1, but this is your decision.

Best wishes

Yes, sorry for the wrong terminology. Thank you this helped me out tremendously. I guess the only question i have now is do i have to wait another 6 months to apply for the CR1? I believe the i130 already applies for the CR1. I will research a post back here if i have a question.

I can see you are a newbie. Please read the guides and you will understand better the difference. My advice go for a CR1, cheaper, easier and also helpulf if your partner is interested in work as soon as get there.

We didn't know about before filing for the K1.

Will that effect me in a negative way, or would it matter at all? What should i do? or just tell her to get a passport with her parents last name?

"It also depends whether you mind having time apart while married" - i think that's still better that way rather than to apply for K1 and not see each other for months. It's better to be married and still being able to visit each other than to remain apart for months waiting for K1.
Thank you, all who answered!

I would recommend you to read the guides that are here in the website, then you will be able to understand better the whole process.

Don't get offended, but yes it is considered fraud, and you can have a hard time during your status adjustment.

Mexico, Latin & South AmericaAOS fee Rejected
Hello Everyone!

I am from Santo Domingo and my mother became an AC last December but we are in the immigration process since five year ago.

As we know that this processed for resident permanent take a long time we were so worried about it just after she received the AOS FEE of $70.00.

She paid it and everything appeared to be normal, then she sent the DS-3032 as it was required.

We received the IV service Bill as normal but the now the AOS FEE say REJECTED…

Is it normal? do I need to be worried about it?

Thanks for your Advise..

Mira esta es la informacion que esta en la pagina de la embajada:

If you see your case on the list but have not yet received an appointment letter, please contact us, and we will give you instructions on how to proceed. Remember that mail delivery is sometimes slow, so you should wait until one week prior to your appointment date before contacting us to report that you have not yet received an appointment letter.

my bad that Im on the k3 section didnt realize that error when I opened an account we have been going threw this whole process of trying to be together since july of 2006 that we reunited. we meet in the summer of 1996 and fell in love when i would go on summer vacations to santo domingo. Our relationship was a secret for the most part because of our age difference my mother wouldnt have agreed to us being together. But she ended up finding out and made a whole big deal about it but then and refused for me to talk to him but I still did it was hard for us to contunie our relationship becuase i couldnt afford calling cards and I always had to call long distance from a payphone years went by and we both moved on with out lives but he had a babygirl and when she was born he nameed her after me so that he would never forget me and for me to forgive. when that all happen he was forced by the family he had to marry the women due to religious reasons .... so he did but was never happy. The summer of july 2006 when I went down on vacation our love came bacxk alive. and he was separated for his wife. at that point we wanted to be with eachother but couldnt. so he tried to filed for a travel visa to be with me and then once he would get it he would just stay with me and then we were gonna figure out how he could just stay permantly with me. But when that time came he got denied.
once that happen we had to wait a period of time for him to try again and during the process he filed for a divorce and his x wife was refusing to sign the papers. It took about a yr for that to finanlly go threw in order for me to file for a fiance visa because in order for me to have done the paper work to bring him the divorce had to be finallized. and that was finally finalized in oct 2008 was when i put in the paperwork for the petition. and during that whole timeframe I suffered. oh and we had gotten engaged that summer that we had reunited in 2006.
So I know what it is to go threw feeling that all you k3 people r going threw. the only difference in a k1 and k3 is a piece of paper stating that your married.
I hope this answers all your questions to the people that left me rude comments on my topic and being so hard on me. So dont tell me I dont know what it is to go threw this

I understand now. If you moved here to DR, are you going back to US or are you going to stay here?

Congratulations good.gif
