security checks can take quite some time. With previous petitions...new IMBRA laws... name and database checks...etc. You're obviously 'on hold' because of something and you should at least be able to find out why.

Our poor Sara (estadia) has been waiting a year now for her K1 petition to be approved at the USCIS.

They will usually give the standard 'we are processing....' answer but every now and then you can get someone who will tell you something about your case. I'd keep calling for sure. wink.gif



As far as I know we are not under IMBRA laws and this is my first and Donald´s petitions. I really don´t see where the problem is.

The funniest thing is that I work for PEACE CORPS here in Dominican Republic, and I don´t get any kind of response from them. I know about the burocracy but it is unfair.

My heart goes to you. I hope I can do anything to speed up your approval but I don't have the power. Thanks for prays and sweet words, I called today and I received same response, that Donald is the one that have to call. I was thinking about a conference call with him in line. I am located in Dominican Republic the phone call will cost a lot of money but I need to know about the case

Hi, my case was also from VSC. We applied Feb 5, 2008 and USC received it on the 26th and was then approved April 11. I wonder why your case took that long and never been touched since then. 17 April 2008. She said they were very kind and had no problems. Questions were basic. I think a solid document package is the key. Thanks to this website and the many, many postings that I have read made this possible. And without having to pay counsel.
I wish the best of luck to everyone - there have been some tough days but I know there are others that are waiting longer than I have. Stay resolute.
I will keep participating in this community because I hope I can contribute something of value - that which has been / will be so valuable to me.
Am waiting now for 1st week in May arrival. Boy do I have a lot of painting and cleaning to do before then wacko.gif

I'm pretty happy yes. I mailed off package 3 today.
Nick is getting everything ready to mail to me and I have pretty much everything else..just need to get some more passport pictures taken and I'm all set.
Oh and the medical but I'm waiting to know my interview date before I book that.

Your case is sent to the Visa Center and one month later to the consulate of the fiance country, the consulate then get in touch with the foreign that has been petitioned in the case.
