This is the estimated date where USCIS will finish processing the working visa, where they are spending all day long now.

Illya - What a torment this process is turning out to be for us. I will regret not knowing much about the immigration process before deciding to get married in India. Had I known better, I'd have opted for K-1 and not gotten married there! But then again, no one f**king plans their life around immigration. As US Citizens, we can only hope that there is a process that guarantees that our families won't be compromised. Apparently, the threat of terrorism or whatever their (government's) excuse has also seem to take that away from us. Ilya - I've a feeling that they will send another batch of cases to CSC.

This is just not right and what sort of democracy we live in that we are tolerating this s**t. Nobody deserves this. Not even our enemies.

Khaleda - That's a very canned response you got there...I was hoping to get more 'color' from them too, but keep on getting these very subdued responses. I am never calling them, unless, god forbid, I get a RFE.

I agree, my fault for not planning around immigration's timetable. Its funny the supervisor, actually asked me why I didnt bring her over with visitor's visa and just did AOS? LOL, caz I am an idiot smile.gif

I liked this part: Its funny the supervisor, actually asked me why I didnt bring her over with visitor's visa and just did AOS? LOL, caz I am an idiot smile.gif

Funny for me was that I told that to my boyfriend and he said it was "fraud", now we are in the big hole. We applied on December 2007, still waiting for a K-1 approval.

The Form is I-130 and the son will have a wait of about 11 years. He will be in class 2B and they are issuing visas to people who have a priority date of Dec 15th 1999.

If you get your citizenship then it would last less than 1 year. You can apply under permanent resident and later on when you get the citizenship you upgrade the petition.

Hiya YMR

I am so sorry to see that from your timeline your K1 is stuck at NVC, I guess your stuck in ap, maybe someone can give some advice of what you can do here.

My visa it is not stuck at NVC it is here at the Consulate, I got my interv letter and I requested to them a new date for the interview next year. There is a personal problem on this with my financial responsabilities with my mother.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresExpedite Approved for appointment at embassy
QUOTE (S and S @ Nov 25 2008, 09:05 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
The biggest reason I worded in the letter was the threat of my husband being forcibly returned to Iraq where he has had death threats. His visa expired in March of this year for Jordan and his stay was tenuous at best. If he went back to Iraq and managed to not be killed he still would have no way to go to the embassy interview as they don't conduct them in Iraq. I had one other personal issue added to this though I prefer not to discuss that. Basically I wrote a strongly worded letter and so did my congresswoman's office and I provided proof of his refugee status and news stories of other Iraqis married to Americans and the problems they faced.

I understand now, hope everything goes well.

I was living in the US with the status of work visa L-1. I married my American husband in a civil ceremony about a year ago, and we are now living in my home country - in Israel. My L-1 visa is now expired and I wonder the best way to visit the US (in the coming few months)?
Should we start a Green Card process as a spouse of an American citizen (while we are planning to live in Israel for at least 2 more years)?
Or should I apply for a tourist non-immigrant visa?
Or maybe is there another way that we didn’t consider?
This travel is somewhat time pressured, since we want to have a wedding party with my husband's family over there...

You both have to start a Green Card process as a spouse of an American citizen

Another question - has anyone tried Jame's shortcuts? Do they work? I heard many good things about them on different forums.

The bank won't allow you to open a bank account with your passport, you need the DR ID the cedula.

You won´t be able to open an account unless you have the Dominican cedula, the passport isn´t enough. We tried that at Banco Popular and we couldn´t.

Hello, I don't know who all has viewed my recent upset, but my fiance was denied the k-1 visa for lack of relationship proof. I am planning a trip to see him within the next month or so, and we are going to start collecting additional evidence for our relationship. So, the question that has come to mind, of those who have gotten approval for the CR1 visa (which is what we are planning on applying for once our K1 is closed) what kind of proof did you submit? Was there a specific amount of photos you have taken together? What kind of photos were they? If 100, 500, or 1000 is what it takes, so be it. Did you just take it around your SO's country? Vacation spots? What? I am planning on taking several trips to get everything accomplished. Just don't want to go through another rejection. Please advise, I know nothing...

Most of the people in this topic are filers for CR-1 visa, where we have to wait for the National Visa Center to schedule our interviews. Congratulations on your interview and good luck!

It would be useful to send them some pictures, letters or emails of the dating process, air ticket copies when you traveled to see your SO, it is called evidence.

For those who remeber me my husband and i got approved on April 13th, 2009 and today he got his passport. the interview was a breeze we were only asked general questions and one important one which was how a girl from brooklyn ended up with a guy from DR? other than that it was the generic questions such as when how we met and if we were married before or had kids.

my husband got his passport today and the only strange thing is that on the visa stamp it says IR1 and we tought we were going to get CR1 instead because we still haven't reach our 2 year anniversary. is it common that even though you are CR1 on the stamp says IR1?

Why you don´t write to them so you can find out before taking any decision about traveling and getting air ticket? If the Consulate printed it by mistake, they can reprint it and you wouldn´t have to pay anything. It was their mistake.

I am advising you because a couple of years ago they printed my gender wrong on my B1/B2 visa, and I asked to them to correct it. PM I can give you a phone number where you can call and do an inquiry about this and request to have it corrected in case there is a real mistake there.

Congratulations, very happy for you both.
