IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	April 2013 I-130 Filers	April 4th filer. I visited my local office yesterday in Detroit. Officer said that my file never got sent to the local office in Detroit. It is still in St. Louis, Missouri. My question is: if a file has not been sent to the local office 3 months after it was filed, does that mean that they decided to process it in Missouri? IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	April 2013 I-130 Filers	Also, when you call to find out, you have to ask to speak to a Tier 2 rep in order to get that information. The first people you talk to on the phone after waiting on hold don't have access to that information, and will just tell you it's still at NBC, even if it's really not.   when i call to uscis yesterday the officer told me my case is pending and is still in nbc i fill from abroad and for now is 53 days from i got my noa 1 that is good or bad ???? Why would you be denied if they verbally told you everything in your folder is fine? I wouldn't worry if I were you. Well in my case they took my husbands passport and when I email the embassy they say this : Thank you for your email. We will contact your husband as soon as his visa is ready to be picked up.   Best, Sanaa IV Unit And when I call dos hotline they say he is on AP... So I really don't know. But yeah I have been wating 5 years and my son has never meet his father!!! They just kept hitting us with missing documents and rejecting sponsors and finally file is complete and they have his passport but no visa still!!! I think when the emails say we will call him when ready, it practically means he is in AP!!!! And the second time he went in they sent him home without a receipt... Or they could be calling the references they may have asked him for (I think they do that at this embassy). Background checks take a long time especially in Yemen where public records are hard to come by. So many people don't even know when they or their parents were born. I know it's painful but all you can do is continue to send them email reminders every once in a while that he's still waiting for his visa. If his case meets all their requirements and his background checks out all right, then he will get it sooner or later. God willing, sooner, rather than later. But you and your husband are not in control at this point. He will hear back when they are ready to say anything. You can try getting your State Representative or Senators involved but I'm not convinced they are really able to help move things along. They are only able to inquire. Hoping you hear good news soon!   PS: No I don't think his father's name is going to be a deal breaker. It's a popular name and the real meaning of the word is more innocuous than most Americans realize. Thanks inshallah soon!!!!! But they didn't ask my husband for any references to be honest they didn't ask him much at all just the regular name birthday all supporting documents then they took his passpory and said ok here is a slip (like a reciept) and was told ok come back with it in a week in order to pick up your visa. When he went back they said sorry we are having "printing issues" then through email just the same thing over and over: "we will contact him when ready"!!!! I just pray and pray that he will get that phone call soon!!!! Oh by the way I forgot to tell you guys he received a phone call from the us embassy in Yemen in beginning of may. The guy said are you so and so and my husband said yes. He asked him do you have your visa yet ? My husband said no you Guys have it!! I called one yesterday about people not getting there visa on time. he said Background check!!!! Hey albabeli You think the reason they have not given my husband his visa is because they are doing a background check or believe there needs to be an extra check even though his criminal background check was clear?????!!!!!! ..... how long do they do this for? We are going on month 3 and counting!!!!!. ... So this is the last message I got from the embassy: Thank you for your email. What you should find out is if your husband is under administrative processing. At the end of his interview did they give him a 221g green sheet? It's literally a green sheet. Find out. A friend of mine told me her sister's husband's visa was supposed to be picked up aswell but they said they were having trouble with the visa printer. That could be the problem as well. And May hasn't been too long ago. Please have hope. Also lastly, contact your senator to inquire on your behalf. This could be very beneficial to your case. She wants her greencard in her name she plans to use happily ever after. Doesn't matter if marriage license asks what name she will use, or that she hasn't changed all her documentation. IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	Help With Family Name On Forms	Hi Jamie,   The marriage certificate is your wife's prof that she can legally use your name, the first thing she needs to do is go to her local SS office & get a new SS card in her new name then when she has that get her passport changed then go to the DMV & sort out the driving licence, after that the bank, her works, credit cards & anything else.   Brian  So if she hasn't done this yet we need to use her maiden name on the forms?
