Whoever is saying 'speak to ex at work' needs :bonk:

For any woman, there is no speaking out of ear shot to an ex, that just intensifies suspicion. What the OP needs to do is talk where his wife can pick up pieces of the convo (no going in another room) & if their is nothing going on, after a while she'll start not caring about those calls. What may be good is communicating only between certain hours (unless there is an emergency) and keep conversations as short as possible.

That is what says he has been doing - speaking shortly and openly with his ex. It has not been working for him; he is now stuck in a conflict with his wife and ex over his children, so he has to do something different.

It sounds like you have to avoid talking with your ex-wife when your wife is present. Maybe call when you are at work, or email her. Also, continue having your mother transfer your children, if possible.

I really don't know what's going on. I think my husband and I are getting screwed!!!! When I email them they just say we will contact him shortly!!!! Serious I don't even know what shortly is anymore!!! The last two emails they won't even respond!!!! Honestly I don't know why they won't give him his visa!!!! How hard is it to call him and say come pick up your visa at this time on this date!!!! I could see if there was missing documents but they keep saying we will contact him shortly.

An to make things worst the us embassy in Yemen called him like 2 days ago and the guy on the other line said do you have your visa yet and he said no you have it!!! After some questions the guy finally said your visa is with the counselor and hung up! My husband had no chance of asking any other questions !!!! What is the dos hotline??? Yeah everyone is getting their visa and appointments like nothing all the people I know who filed after us like you said took 2-3 years and went in for interview and a week later visa was printed and ready!!!! Wallah I am so frustrated I was wondering if any of you heard of something like this!???!!!!!

Ok here is my issue but I want to start off by saying I am really happy for all those who have gotten interviews!! I am not trying to be rude or anything I am just really frustrated with the us embassy in yemen!!! My husband went in for first interview in 2009.. Second interview in march 2013 said come back in a week to pick up visa... Went back and they said go home we will call you currently may 2013 we have not heard anything! Through email they tell me they do not have a time slot for him to come and pick up his visa!!! They said once they have an appointment for him they will call him, so that is why I am curious of how some of you are saying you guys have appointments for an interview. An they put our case under "ready for interview" like he will have to go through another interview. I am so frustrated and I have a son who is sick/disabled so I really can't go back to visit!!! Anyone have any thoughts or has heard of such a think!!!!???!! Comments are really appreciated thanks!!!

Congrats on ur appointment.... Can u plz tell me what petition you filed.??.... I filed petition for my husband it's been over 5 years and they have his passport but they keep saying they do not have a time slot for them to give him an appointment . Which makes no sense. Congrats to all who got an interview date but I'm just wondering how that is when they tell me they don't have a slot for him... Really it's weird and frustrating!!!

hi Bradrean - no case number yet, don't expect it for another couple weeks, we just got this email from USCIS:
"Post Decision Activity

On June 4, 2014, we shipped this approved or re-affirmed case to the Department of State for visa processing. For more information, please contact them directly."

So only notice that they've sent our I130 approval over to NVC for the next stage.

Best of luck! :)

Ohhh ok. Maybe I need to call them cuz we never even got the approved email it was just online case status and I called to make sure. Does your online status say shipped or just the email is the only thing that says it?

Glad to see TSC update it's processing times today, for what they're worth and best of luck to all remaining November filers!

Our case was moved to NVC as of June 4th. Fingers crossed this part all goes smoothly. I'm off to the June NVC thread now.

Peace all. ~waves~

Hi sylea! How do you know case was moved June 4? Did you call uscis or NVC? I was approved two days before you so I'm thinking of starting to call now, just dunno who to call!
Thanks :)

Even though I know I'm with an officer now, I am still in the same boat as you. It's so infuriating seeing all of these people ahead of us get approvals.

TheDude if it helps mine was with an officer for like three weeks, then I got ANOTHER address change update May 24 (12 days after my real one) then approved three days later may 27.

the service request I think will let them at least look at your case and possibly approval when they do.

I've put in 3 SRs in the last month. It better freaking work soon. 6 months and one week so far..

They've said an officer is assigned to my case and background checks were put in for three weeks now. The beneficiary is from low risk Australia!!! :((((( I'm losing hope.

I can't believe we have this whole world that no one knows about. I really appreciate you guys and it's just shows that humans can be good. Were all strangers and we came together to support each other there's something about that
, that is wonderful.

I think we need to stay strong no matter how hard this is. You guys are some of the strongest people I've ever met (even just online met). We will finish this and it'll be over forever. We will stick together and good things will happen. I want to go to US (home) so bad I cry on a daily basis. But it's you guys who keep me and all of us going. We aren't alone. We aren't forgotten.

And we will F^#%^^% USCIS up of they think were weak and don't know what's going on.

We can do this guys. It's awful, inhumane, I wouldn't wish this on my worst enemy. But I'm glad you're all here and we go thru this together.

Ok my soap box moment is done. <3,

Don't let them break us! Call. Complain. B~>^%#! Until we get to be with our loves. And we all meet here in joy and not pain.

Guys I put in a SR Friday and they made me give a US address (I'm abroad with hubby) so I gave my dad's name and address and she said she'd add it.

Today my uscis check status update said that the address has changed. I thought she only wanted a US address and to change it for the SR.

Will this cause problems?

Does this mean I could be closer?

I dunno if this is good or bad.

Yet VSC seem keen on January to make that 5 month stat look realistic :(

Anyone had any joy filing an SR yet?

I just called. Told tier 1 an officer told me to call in one week and also that I have questions about a service request I did (I did one two weeks ago but basic BS response) then tier one transferred me directly to an officer... NO wait at all... Weird? She told me same as last week that someone was working on my case. She said she's putting in a "formal" SR and got my parents details to send it to since I'm in Australia. She said those help and actually make someone pick up and review the case. She said response at least in two weeks.

I dont know if that response will be BS again or an approval or hopefully an approval before two weeks.

I don't know if this call was good or bad or neutral.

Anyone call lately? Tell tier 1 what I did and maybe you'll get straight through too.

Has anyone heard what day they're "on" now?

I don't want to be melodramatic.. But hypothetically if my therapist wrote a letter saying I'm in bad mental health and so is hubby is there any chance of expedite? Clearly I'm now losing it for real.

I don't want us November filers to become last years people who waited a year.

Have we decided on letter sending yet?

If you leave together he will almost certainly get denied based on what I've read. Your best bet would be to go ahead and have him join you at a separate time. Their usual problem with I-130s is that if you don't have your NOA2 yet, you may get rejected while in the US and decide to stay.. but if you are past that you have a better chance.. with a set interview date, you're pretty much good. Just make sure he has a lot of proof that he'll return to AU.

Thanks guys. Perhaps I am stuck staying in AU then. Or going back and forth.

I really need your guys' advice. I'm at my wits end. Here's the thing :

I'm abroad with hubby in Australia
I've been here since July 2013 and my visa here expires this July 2014
I really want to go home but don't want to be separated

What do you think about us going home next month TOGETHER to US with return tickets to Australia? We could spend three months in US then come back to AU for his interview (I can get a tourist visa when this one expires).

Do any of you have spouses visiting the US? How is boarder control? Have any of you gotten sent back on arrival?

I know this is expensive but I've had it. I don't care about money.

I'm terrified that we will get to US with proof of pending I-130 and return tix and they still turn us down and send him back.

Help please!!!

We really need to start writing letters again. That got their attention real fast.

I agree ... Does anyone have a link to one that they used before? We could all copy it, edit and then we could pick a day/time and send all at once like they did last time. If we ALL do it and have similar letters it might get their attention.

I don't want to get too excited, but I just called and got an actual human and he was an officer! He's the first one who mentioned I'm overseas, and first one who actually looked up my case and said "yes they've been looking at it for a few days they are examining it" so mine is actually being worked on. Which makes sense cuz the online statuses keep changing like a clerical error or something.

I don't want to get my hopes up but this is the best news from them I've ever gotten from a human there! He also said call back in one week if I haven't heard anything. He said he doesn't want to promise, but I should hear something soon unless something comes up.

Please please please!!!!
Another thing: do you guys think that I could get an RFE if the passport pics we sent were a little but smaller than the US standard ones? We got them done in Australia here and it's a tiny bit diff dimensions. Now I'm worried! Help?

After 2 hours and 20 minutes on hold, the Tier 2 told us that all systems are down that we can't be helped.

I mentioned to them about people getting NOA2 after only a couple of weeks, apparently there is no "auto-expedite" for couples who live together abroad (which I know is BS!).

Gave me the usual BS about sending an E-request for an expedite, even though I know I can't qualify for it. SO ANNOYED!!!!! :ranting:

Well, there isn't any expedite for USC abroad anymore, they used to go faster but that stopped last year. I'm the USC in Australia with my husband and I'm two weeks past the mythical 5 months. PD nov 15.

We are just waiting for our co-sponsor to mail us the I-864. Other than that, we have our stuff ready. Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't the IV just a fee paid after NVC receives the case? I only ask because I want to be sure I have everything!

I agree, we really shouldn't dwell on it so much but it's so hard not to when you just want to begin your new life!

There's the IV package (beneficiary) and the AOS (petitioner and/or joint sponsor) the IV includes police certificates, passport photos and a few other things. Look in the NVC guides that Saylin made. They're awesome they tell you everrrrything.

I called a couple of weeks ago about not receiving stuff, we asked about processing times and we were told the same 8-12 months waiting, I know it's BS. I think they tell you this because they think it will stop you calling and asking about your case and to buy themselves time. How wrong are they! hahah

As for NVC, it all depends on your case, how quickly you send your I-864 forms back.  When you get to NVC stage, I suggest having everything ready to be sent straight away and if you can afford it, send it overnight delivery or whatever is the most quick and affordable for you anything to shorten the period of time spent apart! I've heard some interviews can take months to get depending on your country. You should try find others that have filed from Austrailia and read their timelines to see how quick interview was.

IMO - Service request is pointless, you get an automatic bullshit response.

I totally agree. We have both IV and AOS packages totally ready! Just have to sign and date a few things.

The sydney consulate said they sched interviews within a month of getting your stuff. So yay for that.

I almost think we all should stop calling uscis it puts us in a bad frame of mind :(

Trying to keep my chin up for our approvals!

Welp I just talked to the discourage misinformation line. They said that every center is at around 6-8 months and the 5 months is just an average. Then he said (and this is a new one!) that after approval we still have another 6-8 for nvc and interview etc. ......!!?? I KNOW this is all bullshit.. But come ON. How can they say that? Nvc is usually around 50-60 DAYS max. Espec for 2014, which we can see on saylins nvc spread sheet. And we KNOW October is being processed, at Nebraska they're on late October and have even done 2 novembers.

Why do they want to discourage us so much?? Has anyone else gotten this load of BS from them lately?

I was so hopeful, but now I'm just deflated again. Our Noa1 was nov 15. So were over the 5 months.

He put in some kind of request for info on my case, not sure if it was a service request exactly but I figured any kind of attention to my case would be better than none and he offered it.

He also said that I needed to give him a US address cuz they don't send things abroad... Which is funny cuz they sent our noa1 here to australia without problems.. I heard they've told people that before. Just more BS...

Any comments?? Any similar recent experiences??

I have sent away for my police cert so I hope it arrives soon. This weekend when I get time off work we'll sit down and start to get it all together, still haven't decided whether to go route maintained domicile or re-establish. My husband still has his bank account and car in the US but his drivers licence ran out a year ago.

You can renew drivers liscense by mail if he's abroad with you! I did that! And the car and bank is good you can request a letter from them saying you've maintained it.

Also doing a joint sponsor (the parents in US maybe) even if you don't reallllly need it is a good idea I think. That's what we did. Since were both going to quit our jobs here when we go back to US, we have a back up (my dad) sponsor to say like "no matter what they're covered".

I think getting your packages ready now is smart. That way when nvc invoices and you pay, besides signing and dating a few things and adding the bar coded sheet- you can send it off right away!

Also- I'm sending my packets to my parents in the states to send for me. That will cut down sending time in half. (2 weeks from AU to US vs MI to NH) I've read in the guides they don't care where it comes from as long as they get it. Plus then the sponsor can add their stuff too then send it quick from states.

What exactly have you prepared for NVC?

Whew like everything from the package lists. The AOS package (affidavit from me and my dad, with supporting docs like taxes birth Certs job letters pay stubs) a letter that I've maintained domicile since I live in AU for the last year, and supporting documents (I own a house so the deed, also as an asset for affidavit) and etc. bank statements. Letter from bank saing I've maintained my account.

The IV package he's got 2/3 police Certs he needed from living in diff places, and his work proof, original birth and marriage Certs etc. bank statements.

I made cover letters for all. Helps to use as checklist and explain why things are in there.

Yeah. It took FOREVER. Mine is more intense cuz I've lived abroad for the last few years. But I own a house so that really saves me with assets and money and maintaining domicile.

I suggest all Nov's get ging on their packages like yesterday.

So over the last few days nebraska has now done 2 Octobers from the direct filers. So non transfers. That means hopefully we see novembers start to trickle through in 1-2 weeks.

Hoping hoping hoping.

I've got ALL my NVC packets ready, and all documents.

I'm hoping for us to go to US in late July. If approved this month, and since nvc documents are ready it very well could be. Sydney is pretty quick with scheduling interviews.

Does anyone know if Australia is eligible for ELectrontic processing at nvc? I found the list but I don't know what those city acronyms stand for (SAA ..etc)

Good luck guys. Keep up the positive energy! And prepare your NVC stuff!

Hi! My husband also lives with me abroad as he is the USC. We are also wondering about this, we are not sure what to have ready yet as we sent call logs, skype logs, lots of photos etc with out I-130. My husband is still addressed to his mothers house as he gets his mail there from his bank and also has his car there, do you think that would be enough for us to prove his domicile/ties to the US?

I think it'll be enough. Especially if you have a consigner too. I followed the NVC thread on here, and got a lot of stuff together. It's A LOT I would suggest getting it going!! Police certificates especially. It'll save time later. He might have to go home early, or arrange somehow a lease for you guys, or at least letter from his mom saying you guys are staying there until get an apartment. He had to "establish domicile" in States.
