K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresNew here! My concern is...

I don't know if this helps, but I also lived in two countries, and when I called police in Germany they told me to go to the German Embassy in my country and to require my documents there.
I went, filled all the data, and it was delivered to me in 2 days!

So, she just have to go to do Canadian Embassy and ask for the documents.

So does anyone has an idea of how long it will take for the Canadian Embassy in Hong Kong to process her request? I hope some Canadian members out there could see this and provide some information! :help:

Do you think I should ask my fiance to call up the Embassy and ask? Thanks!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresNew here! My concern is...
Sent out the I129F on 19 Mar but have been worrying about the time it will take my fiance to get the police certificate. She has lived in both the US and Canada for more than 6 months when she was 16 & 17, so I guess she will need the police certificates from both places and plus the one that she needs from Hong Kong (her home country). So my question is how she could get these certificates when she is residing in HK now? I am also hoping that she only needs the one from HK as it takes much shorter time. Since she is moving to the US, they should have checked her background already, is there any chance that the police certificates from the states and Canada be exempted?

Her family immigrated to Canada when she is 15 and she moved down to LA for school as Canada permanent resident and stayed there for 7-8 months before she moved back to HK. She has the US vistor visa in hand all that time, she also has it now.

Has anyone come across a similar case? Any advice is much appreciated! Thanks!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresWorried & Confused - Help!

In terms of planning wedding and such, you could always do a civil wedding in court or small chapel, just for the paperwork, then plan a big ceremony later down the road. That way you guys can plan better, while together in the US.

That's what we are going to do too! Good luck on your journey!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresPreparing documents prior to NOA2

Hi,
We dont have our NOA2 yet either, but hoping April is our month :)
So far, my boyfriend is doing the police certificate and the birth certificate. On my side (USC) I am getting all the documentation needed for the affidavit of support and getting most evidence of relationship ready on my side to send all to him when NOA2 is approved.
We will wait to fill out forms and date letters until we have our NOA2
Good luck :)

We are doing the same too! Preparing all the forms and tax return, getting ready to sent out everything as soon as Package 3 is received! Good luck everyone! It's always good to plan in advance to shorten the process!

I only visited her once for ten days. Came back and submitted the I129F after 2 weeks. Don't think it will be a problem if you have enough proof of on going relationship! Best of luck!

My fiance is also planning her visit here in May. She will bring along the letter issued by the company she works with, the ticket for the return flight and bill payment showing that she has a property in Hong Kong. I hope that's enough ties and she has no problem entering the states.

Hope this information helps!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresMother traveling with beneficiary at POE with K1
Mother of Beneficiary travelling together at POE as tourist(already possess B1 visa) to attend the wedding. Mother is not intended to stay, not until beneficiary became USC.

What should we fill in for form DS 230 Question 21a. Person(s) named in 14 and 19 who will accompany you to the United States now and Question 21b. Person(s) named in 14 and 19 who will follow you to the United States at a later date.

What should we fill in for form DS 156 Question 34. Names and Relationship of persons Traveling with you.

Don't want any trouble with Mother's vistor's visa and her future visits by confusing the officers, she is just visiting for the wedding, no intention to immigrate yet. Should they come in seperately and fill in NONE for all questions?

Thanks for any input!

Your fiancee should have no worries. No federal or state officials will take photos of her tattoos unless she is being detained.

All her tattoos can be covered with a tee shirt and jeans. So the officers at the embassy will not see her tattoos unless they ask her to take her clothes off.

Depending on where this Butterfly tattoo is located, it can be scrutinized as being in Hong Kong Triad...

The butterfly is at her lower back. By the way, the doctor had no intention to take any picture.

We are worried that what she wrote on the report will catch some unnecessary attention at the interview. Will they take picture of her tattoos at the interview? :help:

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresPissed by the doc at the medicals
The doctor asked many times whether my fiance are doing drugs and looked through her arms to find holes to see if she used any needle. Sure her tattoos look nothing gang related, they are just her dog, colorful stars, a butterfly... but the medical definitely made her feel humiliated. I hope we will have a smooth interview next Wednesday and hopefully we don't end up in AP just because of the tattoos.

Reading the thread posted by other members, I now understand more about gang related tattoos and our case is nothing like that. I just hope my fiance will not be discriminated because she is from a conservative country.

The Dr. is making sure they are not gang tattoos. Hence the detailed description. Tattoo by itself is not a problem.

What's considered gang related really?

Having tattoos of a dog, a few stars and meaningful words don't sound gangster to me! Thanks for the advice guys, but we just can't stop worrying, so much was written on that report! SIGH

Has anyone had any problem at the medical with a few tattoos? The doctor looked so surprised and have them all written down in the report, with details like descriptions and location of the tattoos. Anyone get problems at the interview or medical having similar experience? Will our application get denied just because my fiancé has a few tattoos? I know this sounds ridiculous but we are worried!! Any advice is appreciated!

Our interview is next Wednesday, is the original tax transcript enough for I134? Others are just scanned copies. She has one pay stub that is original that she got when she was here in May. Would this be enough?

Unless it's different in Australia, you should not open the medical report. Both the report and passport photos are to be brought with you to the interview.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Proceduresis my fiance a fraud?
No one can speak for you but for a person to act like that even before getting the visa in hand is pretty suspicious if you ask me! He's naive in a a way that he believes he doesn't need you in his life after he gets his fiance visa!! Even if he gets approved at the interview and arrives the US with a K1 visa, he will still be going home if you don't marry him in 90 days!

Hope whatever decision you make will give you a peace of mind!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresDS 3025 for AOS

Ask the interviewing officer at your consulate for a copy of the DS 3025 during your interview when you hand them the medical files, they should know why you need it and oblige.

Good luck!

I did ask the interviewing officer yesterday at the interview. They looked confused at first and later they even dug up someone else's DS-3025 to show me what it looks like and later found out that I will get mine when I apply for AOS in the states!

Thanks everyone! Maybe this situation only applies to people who file K1 in Hong Kong.
JS&PLFemaleHong Kong2012-08-29 21:20:00
K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresDS 3025 for AOS

That is odd. Tell them it is the vaccination worksheet, and that you need a copy of the vaccinations given at your medical for when you file for adjustment of status in the US.

As a last resort, you can ask the CBP officer that takes your sealed envelope when you arrive in the US to please make you a copy of your vaccination worksheet, DS-3025 because you really need it. They have made copies for people in the past. The worst that could happen is they say no and you need to see a civil surgeon in the US to get an I-693. Bring any vaccination records you have with you when you come to the US.

Now I understand why it's odd. I was exempted for any vaccinations for applying K1 from Hong Kong, I was told that I will get my vaccinations in the US when I file for AOS. From looking at the list of shots that I need which I think I already have, I am now looking at how I can get my vaccination record in Hong Kong so that I don't need those vaccinations and they will give me a DS-3025 saying I have already had all required vaccinations!
