This is my first time on VJ and to be honest its been a relief knowing there are others out there waiting for the exact same thing as I am and just as frustrated as I am too. Though I don't like the wait, it is quite comforting to know I'm not alone on this, but I would still want the visa within the expected 1 year as is from what I read the common time frame. K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	ALMOST IN TEARS	Q&R - you can contact USCIS via email - they set up a new email account since 15 AUG 2012 - you can email to ncsc-customerconnect@uscis.dhs.gov include the receipt # and biodata on the two of you (full name, dob), indicating who is who (Petitioner vs Beneficiary) and inquire for casefile status. You might get a response same day, it might be three weeks. I got a reply back in 2 months, but others have gotten a reply back within a week. Good Luck ! Thanks so much for this! I am not in the states, so I can't easily contact with the CSC by phone and I hate being helpless in this situation. It is also frustrating to see people who, from the same country and service center, have applied after me have received their NOA2 and I still have had no word. K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	Am I crazy for waiting on No1?	I remember how excited I was when I saw that the check was cashed. The letter will be sent out within a few days and then it will arrive at your house post haste. I probably wouldn't call the USCIS and bother them. Please remember that the folks at the USCIS have a huge workload so it can take a while. But the truth is, they're moving pretty fast recently. Our documents were processed just 45 days after being received! But the thing many people may not know is, in 2006, the USCIS changed their process for approval. As I understand it, all K1s are sent to the California or Vermont service centers now (rather than being processed at the location where they are received). So there may be a little delay as the documents are sent from your receiving center to the correct K-1 center. But the truth is, it will be more than worth it when your I-129F is approved in weeks rather than months. Good luck!	Minister	Male	China	2007-06-23 10:20:00
Philippines	Globe Super US Direct - Has anyone tried this?	This looks like a good deal, $15 a month for a US number for your Globe phone. Has anyone been using this and how do you like it? Globe Super US Direct Yes, we use this all the time. We were one of the early adopters of this service. It is invaluable to me and my fiance. However, with that said you also need to know that Globe has there issues and there are hurtles that you should definitely be aware of. With the service, I should note that sometimes calls do not always get through and sometimes is sounds like it is ringing when it really isn't. There are also occasional dropouts at times that can be very frustrating because sometimes you can't even tell they are happening and miss entire sentences when talking. Today, I could not even reach her and the service responded as if her phone was turned off but it wasn't. But all these things tend to be the exception rather than the rule. Overall, its much better than most other services to the Philippines. Also, even though globe offers online payment and support, we quickly learned that the most of it is more for show and not very functional or reliable. It's not like the US. The most reliable way to keep the service active is to have someone pay for it in person the Philippines each month and just avoid the online or phone options entirely. You might be able to get the service for the first time that way, but you will have all sorts of problems if you try to renew the service that way. They also seem to have a horrendous time processing credit cards. In addition, even though they are extremely pleasant and friendly on the phone, the follow through on support calls is not very reliable (even for people living there). They have a generic answer for all support requests of "we will get to it in 24 hours" and it is usually a spin of the wheel if they do or not. When they don't, it will be another 24 hours to respond to the follow up about not getting it done and another 24 hours to get the item completed again (and so on and so on). One time, just for a renewal online, we went through the process like 8 times (both by me and by her) that took us over a week. Finally in, frustration, my fiance just went directly to the Globe store and took care of it in person. The problem was resolved immediately. In addition, you must wait for the service to expire each month before renewing. So you must be on top of it or you will have a gap in your service and will be back to high rates and calling cards again until this is taken care of and remember it will take them 24 hours for each action. It is clearly not be for everyone. But for us, it is invaluable. She is always on the move and so am I. So the only way we can usually catch each other many days is cell to cell which is traditionally very expensive. For that reason, we are willing to jump through the hoops and deal with the occasional blips to get the savings. And finally, if you want to call direct to a phone in the Philippines, there are great rates you can get with phone cards and some VoIP services. But I have found that the paid Skype service seem to be the most reliable. I have it on my iPhone and when I'm near a WiFi hot spot (like at my work or home) I get a great connection to her land line and cell. I use this as a backup and also to call other numbers in the Philippines all the time. In fact we have determined that it is cheaper for me to call the embassy that way than for her to call there locally on her cell. I was amazed at that. I eventually would like to see Skype include the Philippines in their unlimited international plans. But I have learned that they (and others) are having problems negotiating a functional agreement with the local carriers there. So it might be a while. I hope this information helps! K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	can anyone tell me if how long we should wait for our NOA2	I would suggest you look at the current embassy stats at http://www.visajourn...m/content/times We are filing for the same visa as you and our application was rerouted to the California Service Center due to an overflow in Texas. For us, the times posted on the link I provided where right on the mark. The time between our NOA1 and NOA2 was about 5 months. My fiance got her letter from the embassy requesting an interview and instructions on how to prepare about a month after that. If you don't hear form them in 5 months or so, I would call. You can also track the status of your case on the USCIS website by entering the receipt number located on your NOA1. I believe the time frames vary based on case load for the service center processing your application. I have found that the statistics on this site are invaluable for the long wait. I know of three inexpensive options: 1) Go to your post office and ship it through USPS- either "Express Mail International" or "Priority Mail International". Postage should be about $50. Your wife would have to pay the Value Added tax and Customs fees when picking it up. The laptop should arrive in 6-10 days. Don't forget to add enough insurance to cover the full price of the laptop. 2) Ship a balikbayan box with the laptop and other items, through LBC or another company. Shipping should cost about $75; the laptop should arrive in 5 or 6 weeks. 3) The most convenient way is probably to order the laptop direct on Overstock.com's Philippines store. Overstock will handle the customs and taxes. Go to Overstock's website, click on the "International Website" link at the bottom right of the page, then choose the country (Philippines). She has no credit history and it would have hurt our application to have her on it, or so we were told. I still haven't found out if it was true or not but she holds it over my head at times that her name is not on the house.
