Russia, Ukraine and BelarusI need to know specifically what is in Packet 3
I'm sure that 99.9% of the time doing the medical exam in Kiev the day before the interview is solid advice. We are thankful that Lena went 1 month before her interview because she was forced to return the next week for 3 consecutive days for AFB sputum tests (TB screening). Apparently the good doctor there saw a questionable spot in one lung. She was cleared after the additional testing the following week and she had her interview 3 weeks later as scheduled. Always plan for the unexpected. Good luck!

Are you sure she isn't a RUB woman? Oh, NM, I forgot. Alla would never stop talking.

I am in Ukraine and have to behave myself, I hear rumors there are beautiful tall, slender women. with big eyes, long legs and high heels right outside and Alla wants to go for a walk. I will try not to notice them.

Impossible not to notice! And Alla will know when you stretch your eyeballs. Be careful!

Russia, Ukraine and BelarusMiscellaneous topics all in one!

You bet. They have a lot of activity between innings, everything from ice cream eating contests, relay races, the crazy "Champ" the lake monster mascot. Plus the games tend to be a little more action packed than big-league games.

Sergey shot 4 rounds of skeet today and did quite well. We shot two rounds, then grilled up some burgers to share with some of the other club guys and then shot two more rounds. It was a good day. We will pack up tomorrow and fly out for Moscow/Donetsk Tuesday.

Alla was jealous when I told her we went shooting again and said to save her "some bullets" for when she gets back

Have a great and safe trip!

Russia, Ukraine and BelarusVaccinations
On the otherhand, Lena has brought her Russian vac record to the US. We will be going to a civil surgeon I have known personally for years soon.

Question 1: can we translate the doc into English?
Question 2: no DS-3025 - am I to understand that the civil surgeon will complete the I-693? Will the I-693 suffice as the proper vac document to be included for our AOS?

Thanks a bunch!

Any thoughts on whether Lena will need to have her vaccination records translated first before visiting a CS to complete DS-3025? Of course I can't decipher her record in the Ukrainian language. I'm afraid that she will need a couple more America specific vaccinations. Thanks.

Russia, Ukraine and BelarusWife's son is moving out already. I have concerns.

I want to again thank everyone for their feedback, comments, and general kindness and concern.

Things are not going well with my wife. I have had to face the darkness that has become my life with her.

I hate to sound Freudian, but it is always, at some level, about sex. My wife is frigid...maybe that's an old term but she doesn't need sex. But...she used to put on a great show and I would describe her performance as Oscar material. So, my life with her has been something like living with a porn star...when the director says: "Action!" she goes into the roll. When the director says: "Cut!" she rolls over and goes to sleep. I would ask her, "Hey, what about you?" and she'd make up some excuse. Other times she'd fake orgasms but as an experienced man...I knew it was probably fake...although, again, not a bad act.

OK, so I've lived with this issue and resolved to try and move ahead but slowly over time our sex life has gotten mundane, routine, boring and scarce. I think the cancer interruption (though we still had occasional sex) only encouraged her to slack off her "roll playing."

So...I didn't get one of those sex starved, 3 times a day, Russian wives that seems the stereotypical FSU woman. I would say, hey, maybe it's me that's the problem, but my wife doesn't use anything (toys, etc.) to gain pleasure. I've monitored that like a an investigator and I can say comfortably, she doesn't like and/or need sex. I could also say, hey, maybe there's someone else but given my wife's routine, doesn't drive, etc. I'd say not very likely.

My wife is attractive, especially her body, so for awhile I guess that and her role playing was enough...but now it doesn't work. My wife's been acting weird for awhile but after a dispute (her term) she'd use her body to regain my acceptance, tolerance and generosity. But now that doesn't work. I'm not mesmerized anymore.

And I'm tired. The last year of my life was perhaps the worst ever. I'm still not certain about the cancer and have other issues. Yet my wife has only added to my stress and fatigue and struggle. Rather than support me, she has become a burden. The "disputes" are coming more often and I think she's surprised her "sex acting" and body don't solve her problems anymore.

My plan is to do nothing and provide her a basic amount of support...lodging, food, medical and "necessary" clothing...not Sergio Rossi shoes. That's it. I guess it will be a room mate deal. If she wants out, she'll have to take that step. I don't see any benefit to making a lawyer rich. I should remind everyone, I was married in Russia...so it is possible that she could go to Russia and get divorced by a simple piece of paper and a little money.

I've have offered her a deal where I give her some money upfront, plus give her a few hundred a month for one year and a one-way plane ticket to Russia. In return, I get a divorce Russian style. This option gives her the possibility to return to the US but never darken my door again. She actually didn't reject the idea outright. I can only hope she'll go for it. But with her son here, it lessens the chance...but who knows?

Whatever happens, I'm going to take a financial and emotional hit. I'm trying to minimize that hit...but as I have said, I'm scared for my future.

VV - solid solution! The tip-off is that she fails to support you in your time of need. Not normal! She should take your overly generous offer now. I sense that it may not be on the table indefinitely. I wish you the best.

She keeps telling me that she doesn't want a car, and will take the bus (ha!). In Detroit, are you kidding? No metro here. She'll acclimate in time as you suggest.

She can always take the SMART bus to get around. I'm sure, after doing that for a while, she will find a way to get over her fear of driving.

I think the thing I dread about the whole situation the most, is navigating my way around London.

I can understand why non-London residents may think it's a scary proposition, but it's really easy (unless there's a tube strike on, which there is right now, in which case it becomes an utter nightmare). Nobody due for interview in the next 48hrs is there? Because I'd be allowing a whole load of extra journey time if I were you. Thank that arsewipe Bob Crow and his RMT cronies for that one.

I JUST looked on the website and saw that there is a tube strike!!! I am going to london on Thursday! Arghgrgrhgrghghhhhhhhhhhh.....I am figuring out a way to walk from London Victoria Coach station to Bond Street (a quick trip to snappy snaps!) and then on to Marble arch which is near my hotel.

As if I wasn't stressed enough!!!!! I need a brandy or something

you get a bus. the 73, takes you straight there. 73 stop is outside victoria coach station. its a long bendy bus. ther will also be extro buses on, so dont worry. you dont need to go to bond treet to get pics you can do that at victoria. the 73 stops at marble arch, near kfc and evans. simples!!!

Sorry didn't post earlier but we were busy with post-interview celebrations and just trying to get home from London. The interview went well... was kind of like flying in an plane.... Hours of boredom punctuated by seconds of sheer terror. Pat did really well even after drawing a complete memory blank and bumbling one question

The long and the short. Took the train to London the day before. Stayed at the Marble Arch Inn... small but clean and inexpensive (£65 double bed, private shower and toilet) Did the tourist thing that afternoon/evening and got to bed early.

Friday morning we left our suitcase along with laptops and mobile phones in the hotel lobby and walked to the embassy.. about a 15 minute trip. We arrived 30 min before her 9:00 appointment. There was no queue and we were ushered to security. I had to run back to Goulds with Pat's electronic remote car door opener. Once inside she was given #5015 and we sat down in the waiting area. Numbers 5003 and 5004 we just being called to the pre-screener/cashier as we sat down. We waited about 2 hours 20 minutes before we were called to the pre-screener. He took Pat's fingerprints, handed her her chest x-ray, and took the forms we needed to provide (Birth, Divorce, Police certificates, Affidavit of support and related documentation). I was directed to the cashier and paid the visa fee. We went back to our seats and waited 40 more minutes for the interview.

We were called to an interview window, where the woman took Pats fingerprints again (Supposedly it was to confirm it was actually her). Pat was then sworn in, I was cautioned to keep my mouth shut, and the questions started. As I mentioned above she handled everything well except for a memory blank. The question was what was the name of the chat program we met on. Another question that kind of threw her was "how long have you dated?" Being an internet couple there was really no formal dating period in the sense of going out to dinner and taking in the pictures. Pat tried to explain this and overall I was very proud of her. Finally minutes/hours/days later the woman smiled and said she was happy to tell us that Pat's visa application had been approved. I almost let out a shout of joy and my normally cool. calm, and reserved brit allowed herself a few tears of happiness. We paid the courer fee, left the embassy, and plopped ourselves down in the grass of Grosvenor Square where we hugged, kissed, and hugged some more.

We had lunch and a drink at a pub near the hotel. And then collected our bags, changed clothes into something more comfortable and knocked around town until it was time to catch the train home. Line problems on the main line forced a detour and we finally got back in Manchester an hour late.. very tired but happy that we were approved.

Thank you one and all for the support you've given on this ride. Looking forward to seeing success stories coming out of London in the future.

Bob and Pat

As for me, I am weaning myself away from the vj forum, I need to as this is making it so much harder especially as I see ppl getting their visa's, finishing up stuff, saying goodbye to friends and family, aaaaaaaarghhhh ( I so want it to be me!!!)

it just puts my nerves on edge. I have limited myself to one vj read per week ( if that). Is there anyone else here like me with the pending documents thingy that feels this way? that reading vj makes the waiting worse? I know this site is a blessing dont get me wrong, but right about now, with the waiting....ooooh my goodness..

We are receiving the passport back from the UKHO, not the embassy by the deadline of June 05, according to the UKHO. After we get it back, we send it to the embassy for the K-1 visa.

Those that were approved pending additional documents:

I have a friend who interviewed out of London for K-1 on May 22nd. She was issued a 221(g) for co-sponsor I-134. She was told by the interviewer that they are awaiting her forms, that's all, nothing about being approved or anything like that. Her fiance called DOS to find out, and he was told that her case is under processing, last updated May 22nd (they day of her interview). Does this mean she is under Admin Processing? Or does this mean that they are waiting on her required documents? If she is under Admin Processing, would her case be updating after May 22nd? Or is it safe to think that her case has just been suspended due to her pending documents and that the words "under processing" don't mean she is under Admin Processing? I guess her fiance should call DOS and ask outright if she is under background checks in Washington or whether they are ONLY waiting for her co-sponsor documents, but if anyone can share a similar experience, please do!!!

when you ring DOS they will say that you are in AP, admin processing. yes i panicked when i heard that too. it just means they are waiting for the forms. when your friend was interviewed and she received the blue form, which part of the 221g was ticked, if its the first paragraph, then its safe to say just hand in the forms, if its the second paragraph then its the bad AP, the one that can take anything from 1 day to 1 year to sort out as they do background checks and so forth. i however asked the lady if i was approved, she said yes. maybe your friend should have asked there and then..

Forgot to say...if you look at item #1 on the I-134 where they are asking about where the sponsor was born. Then it goes on asking for more info if the person was not born in the US. (Question 1, a-e) The extra evidence supports whatever the co-sponsor answers to that section. London may not be as strict with the I-134 proofs. The AOS affidavit is stricter and I'm sure they ask for those things so that's why we normally tell people to get them for the I-134 too. The instructions don't mention it, so maybe just signing and swearing that everything is true will be enough.

Flying into Dulles, and actually I have found one-way flights with one stop are cheaper than direct returns (which, yes, are cheaper than direct one-way). The stopover would be in Dublin (the immigration might be there - although possibly not for Aer Lingus flights to Dulles!) so I am trying to decide.....

Congrats on the medical Ellie and David!

BTW, my visa turned up this morning. Had a text last night but still refused to believe it will be delivered until it was sitting in my hand. The courier couldn't find the address so he made it with 2 minutes to spare to 8am. I've reschedule the flight for this Sunday and I had an almighty fight with Virgin's customer representative but after 45 minutes on the phone, we managed to agree to something. Cheeky so ad so said he'll send my e-ticket in 48 hours. By then I lost the will to live and just pointed out that I'll hopefully, be on the plane already by then. We definitely spoke different languages today as his English was really difficult to understand. Done and dusted and I'm off.

Good luck to everybody and especially to all of you still waiting for your interview dates or to get your actual visas from the Embassy. good.gif

Huzzah for H&V!

And Gemmie, I'm still hanging around my student halls waiting for reception to call me and say the courier service is here...eeeeeeeeee. I'm more or less gonna be anchored here all day until they deliver it. I cannot WAIT, and now I have to think of creative ways of entertaining myself while I do said waiting...

Now, let's see, if it takes about twenty minutes to half an hour for lunch...

Magpie.

i think you should play hopscotch!

better yet "It" just run around tagging people, saying " your'e IT" and run off............. its all fun and games till you get your visa, this process makes you mad so hopefully they will understand.

i know this might be slightly of topic though not really because its inregards to gettign this visa. for co sponsor's can they use a driving licence and social security card as a form of id??? c.s. doesnt have passport or birth certificate???? cananyone help

thanks

I wasn't even asked for anything to show the co-sponsor's nationality or asked. I had a birth certiificate with me, but he just took her tax return (for 2008) and that was it!! I do know someone else was put on hold for not having anything though; and I know that you can get a driving lisence and SSC as a non US-citizen, so I don't know what else you could have.. maybe they could go to their registry office and get a B.C??

oooh, sounds promising, Kat&Allie... I hope you all get your passports ASAP!!

yeah but i got red head-blonde cow face. Does she deal with it when all the pending docs come in i wonder.

i'd rather not risk it, though....will have to see what happens.........better yet i will ring DOS or the exorbitant- wait too long- mostly scottish operators (???)- dont know much about anything line.

So am I, believe me sad.gif. And all we wanted is to be together. Who would have thought we had to put up with so much cr*p?! The major expense was the caterer and we had to put down 75% deposit which we lost but overall I'd rather lose it all and be together than this. Money is money, it comes and goes but the moments that we haven't spent together be reclaimed. We'll just have to live longer to make up for the lost time smile.gif whistling.gif

On a different note, Nik got packet 4 today, and our interview is June 4, 8am!!! Hoping the medical follow up is completed in time! I am just thrilled! kicking.gif

YEA!!! Glad you finally got the date. Good luck and all.

Just to keep you all posted with my story, I had an email from the Embassy last night (after I sent the 2nd coded email to them this week) that said
"Unfortunately we were misinformed by the Immigrant Visa Unit and you visa was not issued until today (13th). Your passport has passed to the courier service for delivery to you.

Sincerely,
Consular Information Unit
CONS/VISAS/CIU/ak ".

I simply don't believe them any more and until I actually see my passport, I won't be able to believe whatever they say. Note that they didn't apologise or offer any explanation. That would be too much to expect, I suppose...

I did call the couriers this morning and of course they haven't received anything for me. At this point, I'd be more surprised if they said, yes, they have something to deliver to me. wacko.gif

Anyway, that's the story so far.

On one hand, I am glad it is not just me then, as that eases my mind a little. I know what you mean about not sleeping, I went to sleep at 2am and was pottering around the house at 4am and even managed to speak to my wife before she went to bed! Maybe the Embassy are struggling this month, I don't know, but one thing I have had enough with, is waiting. I submitted my I-130 384 days ago, so I think I've waited long enough to finally join my wife in the USA! biggrin.gif But it is all we can do, an moan on VJ of course, because we're all in the same boat on the same journey!

finallly pinned down friend who's sending in co sponsor stuff, hopefully by end of week but to me looking at this its still cutting it fine, i dont need any margin of error, have booked my flight for the 6th of july.

hoping the rest of your lives together goes smoother than this bs ....xxxx

Everyone I need help!!!

Just forgot about something so obvious!

What is the exact interview fee for K-1?

Can you pay by credit card or cash? And what types of credit cards are accepted?

Someone please let me know ASAP!!!

You can pay by either and the fee is $131 and you can pay in cash or with a Visa or Mastercard credit card. I'm not sure what the others were -- but I'd recommend he take out cash (either in GBP or dollars).

Magpie.

this is so funny, because I know half of that is just nerves and excitement.....i paid for it with my credit card.. check the exchange rate the embassy , or with your bank. its almost over....kind of

MARM & Mrs sdp - good luck with your interviews tomorrow.

Thanks everyone for the best wishes...but right now the worry is we have not heard back from the embassy via email and DOS still reports the interview to be as scheduled tomorrow. The plan is even if we do not hear from the embassy today, will call DOS for advice...or otherwise he will still show up tomorrow and see what happens.

wish you all the best at the embassy, i'm sure it will be ok.

thanks for the best wishes and hopefully her visa will arrive today.

Hi guys, I know I haven't been in touch for a while...too busy packing and sorting things out before my departure and the wedding. But all this has now been postponed.

As some of you may remember, I had my interview on 29th April and was told to expect my passport back within 5 working days. well, 5 days have come and gone by and still no passport. DOS is saying it hasn't been printed yet!!!! #######!!!!

I was supposed to fly out today and the wedding was organisedd for this coming Tuesday. It seems that everybody will be there exept for the bride !!!! cray5ol.gif He flew back to Florida by himself today... it was heartbreaking waving goodbye to him... Absolutely gutted....

DOS is saying that it's at Embassy's discretion when they print the visas and they can take as long as they want and we just need to sit tight and wait. Honestly, I thought that getting NOA2 was hard but this - I have never expected or would have believed. My fiance will be calling his congressman first thing tomorrow morning to find what the hell is going on. But the boat has sailed - I shall still miss my own wedding...

Can't find words to explain how devastated I feel right now... as we haven't waited long enough to get our NOA2....

I'm off to cry some more...

So sorry that you have to put up with this! sad.gif
It is really nerve-wracking that even after a successful interview you cant be at ease until you actually have the visa in your hand...because of cases like this. I also agree with MonkeyJuice, call the embassy's extortion line and inform them of the issue...at least get the email code to find out if they are of no help on the phone. I hope that you get your visa ASAP, I know that the wedding is this Tuesday, maybe you could fly out Monday? If you get the visa in hand before the end of the day Monday you could still make it...I wish you all the best, let us know if you hear anything. I wish you get your visa tomorrow in the morning!

i'm so sorry to hear of tis. i too am upset, because i have to wait for the co sponsor forms because red head blonde cow face wouldnt take the employer letter as evidence of support alongside the tax return. we are now waiting on a friend to help us out, who is not answering his phone, and doesnt understand the urgency. i ve resigned from one of my jobs and booked my ticket. i cant explain how heartbreaking this is to be so close, and not have visa in hand. spent the whole weekend inside because i just dont want to be out there, i feel dead inside from worry, hope, and all the rest.

i want you to get married and be happy, even though you may not have the same faith as me i will pray for you that it goes well. lol cant hurt huh...

Yeah that's what I thought also. I'm going to make an appointment with my GP for next week and get it sorted I hope, judging by her letter she just wants me to clarify the situation and as you said, state that I am no harm to myself or anyone else in the future. Such a mess, really isn't easy!

i had this same issue. Now i know what you are going through exactly, what the "nice" irish doctor will say if they see evidence of self harm ( suicide, or abuse) is for a psychiatric evaluation. this will set you back about 250 up to 500 pounds. shop around though and you will get a good deal, go with the Priory if you can they are reasonable and have a good reputation. after that you will be approved via the medical and be sent off to the embassy. this is worst case scenario however. just be prepared.

i know how u must be hating the fact that u were so honest, in the long run it pays off.

all the best
