This made me so sad. Andre cooks nearly every night. If I cook more then twice a month, I am complaining.

Consider yourself lucky yes.gif Tony doesn't get home from work most nights until 6 or 7pm. By the time he showers and gets ready to cook, it's getting late. I usually like to eat around 6 or 7 - if he started cooking that late, we wouldn't eat til 9. Not to mention, he's dead tired on most days and doesn't feel like cooking. Needless to say, we go out a lot or get carry-out innocent.gif

Yeah, I use a pillow when I'm sleeping. My back doesn't hurt when I'm lying down. It mostly hurts at work where I'm sitting or walking or standing. I do Kegels, but they don't really affect my back!! I don't think one has anything to do with the other. But they're good to do for other reasons whistling.gif

They come into the room with brooms and flashlights whispering in patois about forty-leg something or another. Turned out it was a "forty-leg" that pinched his toe and ran up under the bed. I guess its some sort of Jamaican insect with forty legs and pinchers that resembles a garden snake. The riped the bed apart, covers, matteress, and never found this forty-leg critter.

Oh my gosh, I would just die ohmy.gif It sounds like a centipede to me. Some people also call them daddy-long-legs. We have them here in the states, but they get much bigger in JA. Tony hates them too.

Hey R.,

I found this info for you: (http://www.constitution-and-rights.com/dual-citizenship.html)

Dual Citizenship
Memorandum of Law
SUMMARY
Jamaica recognizes Dual Citizenship. Only the Governor General of Jamaica can deprive a Jamaican of his/her Jamaican citizenship.

The mere act of renunciation of Jamaican nationality in the naturalization process to become a U.S. Citizen does not deprive the Jamaican of his/her Jamaican citizenship.

It is not contrary to U.S. Law to have both a Jamaican Passport and a U.S. Passport.

Thanks blush.gif

The income disparity in Jamaica is quite apparent and I would have to say that I may be biased in that I had a privileged up-bringing. What I am alluding to, is the family time; the time for relaxation, not being swept up in the rat race as it is here. The sense of community that you will find in Jamaica, that seems to be lacking in many US cities. If you know your neighbour having it hard, you know when you go country and you get food products from your family in the country, you come and share it with your neighbour.
Over the past decade, Jamaica's economy has been on a steady decline and I can only hope that the new government may be able to turn things around. I can tell you, as more opportunities are available in Jamaica, much of the "diaspora" will return to the island, because the way of life is much better than it is here.

Well, you said it yourself! It's a lot different when your family has money. As far as family time and such, I think that all depends on individual families - has nothing to do with where you grow up. I know my family spent lots of time together when me and my sister were growing up - whether we wanted to or not wacko.gif We went on Sunday drives, ate homemade dinners at home on most nights, went on trips together, spent all holidays, birthdays, speical occasions together, etc... Other info --
Irrespective of body size, the degree of second hand exposure is influenced by one or more of the following: size of the room or space you occupy, air circulation and quantity of smoke in the air, duration of time you are exposed and potency of the marijuana.

laughing.gif at "potency of the marijuana"! It's Jamaica - only the BEST! On a more serious note, I think since most of the bars and public spaces are so open - it's not that smoky. I know when I go to bars here in Michigan, the (cigarette) smoke really bothers me. In JA it hardly bothers me at all.

I went to school in Jamaica.
When I went back to England, I was shocked and amazed at how backward a lot of the people were who went to school in England.
From my own personal experience, I would say my education in Jamaica was FAR better than a lot of people in England received.

Like I said, IF you can even afford to go to school - many children in JA can not. As far as skill level, maybe that depends on what school you go to. Just like in the U.S. some school districts are better than others.

Ok guys, I need your input. As you know we are in the process of moving. I already filled out an AR-11 form to change Tony's address with USCIS. My question is, do I also need to fill out an I-865 form to notify them that MY address is changing? Here's what it says:

When Should I Use Form I-865?
If at any time in the past you completed a Form I-864, Affidavit of Support, to sponsor an immigrant, you are required to report your change of address within 30 days of the change if the sponsorship agreement is still in force.

So, that would mean I DO need to send this form too! Right? There's always more paperwork to do just when I thought I was finished wacko.gif

I hear yuh, pon dat!!! Is it a blood or Urine test? I SERIOUSLY don't think second-hand smoke will effect the result! If that were the case their would be ALOT more medical denials due to drugs...TRUSS mi pon dat!!! blink.gif

It's a blood test. I don't think he'll have any problem due to 2nd hand smoke. You're right - if that were the case, No one would ever get a visa!!
