:ot: Has anyone ever (or known someone else who has) left their belly button ring in while they were pregnant? Don't laugh  I've heard that it won't hurt anything and as long as it doesn't bother me, I can leave it in. I already bought a flexible plastic one to replace the metal one. Any insight would be helpful.

Never heard of him...will have to check him out.

Andre is big into Sean Kingston now...Miami boy with Yardie parents...his music is good.

Oh and how could I forget about Akon...its all about Akon and of course Tupac

I LOVE Sean Kingston  I have his song as my ringtone on my cell phone. I don't think his CD is out yet though. Didn't realize he was from Miami - thought he was a Yardie.

Me and Tony both like Akon - we saw him in concert when he opened up for Gwen Stefani last month.

When doing the US I saw his "goods" and shouted "is that a #######?!" everyone in the room cracked up...looks like lil man was ready for the camera and waiting . UKALien I was thinking the same thing - Rhonda's daughter is gonna have two men trying to court her

You're lucky - my Little Miss Stubborn was all curled up in a ball, sleeping  We almost didn't get to see if it was a girl or a boy! She takes after Tony already - STUBBORN

Ringyard is still .19 cents a minute. It always connects and we have had no problems.

I LOVE Ringyard. That's all we use. It's so easy. Just go on the computer and add credit whenever we run out. I usually only add $20 at a time but they have all different increments you can purchase. Tony has the 800 # programed right into his cell phone and his cell is registered as the "primary #" so all he has to do is enter a 4 digit pin then dial straight to Jamaica.

Well, regardless of if they really need to be or not, or if they even make sense, the packet does have paperwork in it from the embassy that states they do need to be notarized. Would you really risk not doing it?

I did NOT notarize them and we had no problem. Has anyone EVER had a problem because they didn't notarize their tax returns???

Regarding the tax returns copies,...Do they need to be notarized???

I did.

I only have copies printed. I e-filed my tax returns. Do I get the printed copies notarized? :help:

No they don't. The whole point of a notary is to witness someones signature to make sure that the person signing it is really THAT person. (I used to be a Notary Public when I worked for the bank) Who would have to sign your tax returns? It just doesn't even make sense. Just another Embassy joke

It all depends if you are required to do the interview for AOS or not. If not, then, yes, the card is sufficient. It was for us. If you interview, it appears you need the civil surgeon involved.

There's no rhyme or reason to it. We didn't use a civil surgeon at all and we DID have an interview. It was never an issue.

I am fairly new to the board and from reading the recent posts, is it just these new set of medical that are now requiring "genital" inspections? Is it now some sort of new requirement? Hopefully some one will be able to shed some light.

It's not new. My husband had it done almost 3 years ago when he had his medical. I think it just depends on the doctor. You know there are NO standards and regulations in Jamaica  They just do whatever the hell they feel like.

CONGRATS RHONDA!!! Good luck with a girl ;) I am praying for boys :P Thanks!

It's interesting how the doc is now checking "the goods". I talked to Andre and he said that when he had his medical he didn't even take his pants off.

So I have noticed it mentioned a few times before...will your JA guy go to a male doctor or only females?

Tony had his "goods" looked at when he did his medical - almost 3 years ago now. Supposedly, the doc is checking for STD's. I think the doc was male. He's been to a male doc here twice also - I don't think he cares as long as they're a doctor.

So nice to be able to walk around in whatever I want lol......

when i got to the hospital they said i was 5 centimeters and apparently my contractions weren't coming quick enough for them so they gave me some drug that starts with a P to make my contractions come quicker, I'll stop at this point with respect to all the first time mothers.

don't worry Rhonda - there is nothing to worry about

Oh Lord. No epidural? I would cry :crying:

I think the drug you're talking about is called Pitocin or something like that.

Question....why can't they just give the visa at the appointment? What is the purpose of sending it via courier? Any words?

Because they actually take your passport and incorporate the Visa right into the passport. It's not a seperate document. Then they send your passport back to you - with the Visa inside.

So, so far.....that I know, we are the only ones to have waited this long on the Yardie thread. I've done a TON of research on the VJ site and since there's "no deadline"......??

I thought you had to AOS when you'll get married. Doesn't he need the EAD? Or is that done separately?

Yes, you are SUPPOSED to file for AOS immediately after you get married. Otherwise, your husband will be out of status. His Visa is only good for the 90 days until you get married. He needs to file AOS to become a "conditional permanent resident" and get his green card. You have the option of filing for EAD and AP which allow him to work and travel outside the country. Or you can just wait for the green card which will allow him to do both.

Ronda - hope the legs aren't cross !!!!

I didn't even think they interviewed 45 a day

Thanks. I'm so excited :dancing: I'm leaving work in about 2 hours (7am) to go pick up Tony and my mom and make it to my 8am appt.

They interview a LOT of people at that Embassy. You figure each person can interview at least 6 an hour since they're only 10 minutes long or so. Multiply that by 7 or 8 hours a day and 4 or 5 interviewers - that's a lot. They make sooooo much money too. I think they deny people on purpose so they have to apply and PAY again!!!

YAY we got our interview date!!!! By email they said that it is SEP 6, 07 at 8:00am. Lets hope it is truly that before I put in for days off. I think i'm going to fly down on Sep 5th and come back on the 8th. I'm not really sure on the date of return. I wasn't really sure if I should go because I am saving money to move when he comes up here. What do you all think?

Congrats on getting your date  You know my opinion - if you can go, then go. It is the BEST "proof" he can possibly have that's it's a legit relationship.

The baby was 7lbs 10 ozs and 19 1/2 inches long and came out from 7 minutes of pushing, (the doctor threatned to cut me) that was great incentive to push. baby girl is very quiet not at all like her brother.

here's the list of questions he was asked

DOUBLE Congratulations

I'm so excited! I go for my ultrasound tomorrow morning (Friday) to find out the baby's sex  :goofy: :joy: I hope he/she cooperates and isn't crossing it's legs

When Andre's sister was caught (smoked on the way to the medical), they told her right away

Really...i thought they give the embassy the info and they told them then..I don't know...but we'll know soon i guess :) God is on our side

How long ago did his sister go ? He hasn't smoked in 3 months..why did she do that ....

The couple people that I know of that got denied for ganja didn't find out UNTIL the interview at the embassy.

I think after 3 months he'll be ok.

I wonder how much it costs to pay off the doctor??? :P

The first thing she says is where is your fiance? So he goes on to explain the story and shows her some more proof (she was a little nicer this time)...some more photos, phone bills, etc....and she said "ok, i've seen enough papers and photos, now i just need to see your girl...please bring her here and there will be no more trouble for you" and she gives him another blue slip....and she writes on it 'fiance to attend' and then gives him a new date August 30!!! This is too funny! Here we go again!

Oh my gosh :o Why are they so adamant about you being there? This is the first time I've seen this required AND in writing on the blue slip. What is your age difference by the way? I can't think of anything else that would make them so suspicious.

Good luck

Does anyone know of any good restaurants in Ocho Rios? I'll be there this weekend.

Spring Gardens is awesome - I always get shrimp and Tony always orders conch! We went there on our first "date". (L) Ruins by the Falls is great but very expensive. Great view of a pretty waterfall. I've heard Evita's is good, but I haven't tried it.

I would hope your travel agent would advise you as to whether a one way was more (or less) expensive than a roundtrip ticket. Just depends on the market and availability. I've done airfare for several VJ members and most were roundtrip airfares because they were less expensive at the time.

Yeah, I booked Tony a round-trip ticket when he came here. It was cheaper than a one way. I booked his return ticket for Day #91 - in case things didn't work out and we didn't marry in 90 days, I could ship him home

anyone looking into plane tickets should consider using a charter company. i always use apple vacations or worry-free vacations and i've never paid more than $400. the ticket i just bought was only $241.

How do you find the charter flights? I've looked at Apple, but I thought they only did vacation packages (hotel and air)?? Our upcoming trip next month, I'm flying for free using my Northwest miles  But for future reference, I'd like to know.
