K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresDo I Need to Send Original Documents?

For my evidence of meeting within the last two years, do I have to send in the original Boarding Pass stub or will a copy do?

Send in copies with your petition and send your originals to your fiancee to take with her to the interview.

Do they look at pay stubs or bank statements or other when determining income?

They'll want W2s for the past 2 years, pay stubs from the past few months and a letter from your employer stating your job title/duties and status (full-time/part-time) and how long you've been working there.

My fiance doesn't have a middle name. Should I leave it blank or enter in "None"???

Has anyone received an RFE for leaving the middle name blank?

Thanks in advanced!

My wife's son has 3 first names and no middle name. When I included him, I put his first-first name and nothing in the middle name and we had no problems. However, I might suggest entering "(none)" for the middle name.

This looks like a very supportive community. Thanks. Do you know if she can start getting the required legal stuff like clearances as early as possible or only after they are requested? I want to help as much as I can while I'm here!

Scorpion

She can get her clearance, cenomar and other forms/papers ready anytime.

They don't care who pays, as long as they get their money. Good idea to use that as supporting evidence if you need a co-sponsor.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresNeed your opinion

Asking everyones opinions before mailing papers - should the age difference be addressed? Going thru Casablanca i have read many comments before say that could be problem.

So should i or should i not? Big question for the day. :help:

If you're asking if you should mention something about your age difference in relevence to your relationship, the initial petition is not the place to address that. In fact, you won't want to address that issue unless it is requested; which would be at the embassy/consulate level, if anywhere. However, as I learned in boy scouts, be prepared in case the question should arise at the interview.

... In point of fact, I suppose I would like to make the distinction that the two (bitterness and wishing another well) are not necessarily mutually exclusive.

Well, bitterness or whatever, don't you think the phrase 'suffering their fate' is just a bit....well.....creepy?

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresSending documents left out of 129F

I mailed my 129F yesterday after going over it several time. Last night while laying in bed I remembered I forgot to send any email messages between us as proof of haveing met.
I had tons of other stuff 5 pictures, boarding passes, copies of visa with stamps from china, hotel bill, tickets of places visited.

What should I do ? Can I send some email in a separate package and tell them to attach to my other document ? Do I have to just wait and see if they RFE me

Thanks for any help

If they need more evidence to process your petition, you'll want to wait until they send you an RFE. Sending anything before then will likely get lost. Any other evidence you wish to submit as to an ongoing relationship or evidence of meeting, can wait until the interview.

just curious for if i can make copies of that one and keep that one or if i should keep the copied one myself
thank you
have a nice day

Don't confuse notorized with certified. You can send copies of the certified bc with the petition, but will need the certified original to present at the interview.

You'll want to send the originals of each and every form/document you submitted with your I-129F as well as original documents supporting your I-134 affidavit of support. You will also want to send a complete duplicate copy of everything. Reason being; the consulate MAY want to see the originals and MAY want to keep a copy of the originals.

Thats a great idea - Thanks!

I am right saying you don't have to provide criminal records yet?

At the I-129 petition step of your journey, all you need to show is evidence you have met in the previous two years. At the interview part of the journey, you will need to provide evidence of an ongoing relationship.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresG-325A - Questions about addresses!

Hey all! Thanks so much for your help the past couple of posts. Quick question about the G325A...

When listing your previous addresses from the past five years, can you simply put the address of the college you attended if you stayed there, or do you need the breakdown of every single address you lived at while you were at college? I.E. Can I put "University College, 1 University Way, Central New York, NY, 10000" (and the respective dates) or do I need to list every address I had while there (210 Freshman Way, then 306 Main Street, etc etc)?

I know that seems very OCD! But every detail counts! Let me know what you think! Thanks!

I suggest you put every mailing address you have had. Use an additional sheet if necessary.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Proceduresproof of having met in person

Hi guys,

I was just wondering are scanned copies of my boarding passes ok for a proof of having met in person?
I mean not only them - like receipts and insuarance where it says both our names and just about everyhting...
Do u think it matters if they are the originals?cause i was thinkin what if they do not return them to us and we need them later?
can sb advise?
Thanks in advance

Scanned copies are fine for your petition. You will need to supply originals for the interview if they are asked for. The way to handle that is make a complete duplicate copy of your packet. If they want to see originals you have them to show them. If they want to keep anything, they can keep the copies.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresIncome requirement?

Hi All! Me and my fiance are still in the process of assembling the I-129 package... yes, we have a long way to go. :crying: I have been reading posts from this forum and its a big help to us! We are just wondering if there is a certain income requirement that he has to meet in order to petition a fiance visa for me or for it to be approved. He said he must have read something about it before but he cant remember where he found it. Please enlighten us on this.

Thanks a bunch! :D

There are no income requirements to apply for the petition. There is a minimum income requirement of 125% above poverty level to provide support for you, but that does not need to be shown until your interview. If your fiance does not meet the minimum income requirements, he may have a co-sponsor who does.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresGreen Card
My wife received her green card in the mail today. Her son will get his next week. Yes, we are very happy. As you can see from our timeline, it has been roughly 1½ years since I first mailed the I-129F, though we could have filed for AOS sooner and gotten approved sooner. Looking back, it seems like yesterday when we met and began talking of marriage and the fiancee visa. But during the visa process, time seemed to move so slow. Like everyone, we worried, and paced the floors, and checked the websites for status updates and forums for support and advice. During those times, we use to talk about our hopes and dreams. We often reminded each other that prayer and patience would help us through those lonely times apart from each other. Now our hopes and dreams have become plans and goals. Our love and our lives together is great. The future each of us use to have has now become OUR future together. We have had our disagreements and misunderstandings and our little fights. But we both know that just because we are mad, does not mean we love less. We are different in many ways yet it is our differences that keep us so happy and so much in love. Together, we have completed a long ardorous journey. Without lawyers, without RFE's, without delays or problems of any kind; and only with the help of this site, we have conquered. Thank you VJ. May God bless you all.

I had less than 5 months employment when I filed the I-129F, with the previous 2 years unemployed while attending school.

How does the cosponsor thing work do we just submit 2 I-134A forms (one from me and one from them) or is there something else that needs to be filled out?

My USC fiancee is in the exact same situation as you, and we have used her
dad as a co-sponsor.

What you said is precisely the way it works. The K1 petitioner must fill out an
I-134, regardless of income. If a co-sponsor is needed, then they must fill out
their own I-134, and gather their own supporting evidence (bank statement,
employer letter, tax return [if self-employed]).

It's pretty simple and straightforward. If you've any more questions, just ask! :)

I have received the letter from NVC that with our case number (cdjxxx...). When I follow the instructions to schedule an appointment on http://ceac.state.gov/IV/Login.aspx, I am asked for an NVC invoice number. I have found a web-site that indicates that my date of birth is the invoince number. With that said, the web-site is not accepting our case and invoice number. Any suggestions are appreciated.

Oh!! And by the way, the 221 usually means that you didn't complete the vaccinations -that you don't need until you adjust status. It means that some documents are missing but if you don't have the vaccination record complete, those are the documents that they refer to. Don't worry, it's approved!!! Posted Image

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresHelp!after interview in cd juarez
Hi, I'm from Mexico and had my interview 7/9, the consul told me too that it had been approved and just told me to check the status of the dhl via internet. My interview was on a Wednesday, I checked Thursday and Friday and there was nothing there, they updated it on Monday and I picked up the visa on Tuesday. I am telling you to relax, if they told you it was approved, then it is. They are apologizing on the site for visa delivery delays, and people at the Consulate or Servicio de Visas are known for not giving accurate information over the phone. They wouldn't just make the decision that some documents are missing and not tell you about it. I'm sure the visa is on it's way.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresHELP! COMPLETE change of personality.... :(
I am very sorry to hear about your story, there is a lot of great advice here so at the risk of being redundant, here are my 2 cents... By what you wrote, it seems like you already know the answer... You know deep inside that this girl's heart is no longer in this relationship. I know it is scary because after all, this is the woman you had chosen to marry and spend the rest of your life with; it is overwhelming to think about the future, as you had made so many plans with her in it. I was in a similar situation and let me tell you: it does seem like she has another man. There are so many red flags here. I know it hurts and your heart is broken, but I give you my word YOU WILL BE FINE. After you heal from this heart break, this experience will help you to build a better and more mature relationship with someone that truly appreciates and loves you.

Don't think that just because you have invested all that money or time, you need to go through with it. Realize how you are feeling right now, if you continue in this relationship the feeling will be perpetual. If you move on, you will feel hurt for a bit, but you will start feeling better with time.

I don't agree that you should find someone right away, I think you need to heal and be with yourself for some time to complete the learning experience. Please move on, stop hurting yourself and start healing.

Best of luck!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresMedical Exam

The biggest risk is that they find something suspicious on your Xray and make you take a long test that can delay your interview by months. In general there aren't a lot of things that will cause you to get denied. HIV, TB, those yes. But even with TB if they find you have it, they will require treatment before you can enter the US.

I assume that if you are HIV positive you will never get a visa.

But they are not looking to make sure you have perfect health. They are looking for a very few specific things that can cause problems. If you feel your health is good, then don't worry about the medical.

Actually, since 2009 foreigners trying to visit or immigrate to the US are not required to have an HIV test, so if someone is HIV positive he/she can get a visa, since it will not interfere with their immigration.
