Okay, so we got approved yesterday. I've done some searching, but haven't really come up with anything (despite knowing there was a post somewhere that had this stuff in it...) so I thought I'd ask again, even if it sounds a bit like a broken record. I'm sorry. unsure.gif

1) We already know he has to send for his long form BC, and his police check -- we're assuming the police check will be okay to file for in January, even though we don't have an interview date yet. Is this correct?
2) What else should we gather now? I also know we need a ####### ton of passport pictures and such...
3) When it comes to Affidavit of Support, and I know this is a long shot, but does Montreal only allow USC co-sponsors, or could we use a Canadian one? (Like say, his parents, or even his own income, since he's lucky enough to have a job, and I've been looking - to no avail - since I moved back from schooling up there.. wacko.gif )

I join you in the sick boat, Krikit. Sinus pressure, congestion, and my stomach hurts from coughing so much. UGH. Here's to hoping we ALL get better soon!!!

I'm hoping everyone had a better start to their New Year than I did. Not only am I sick, but we got a phone call at 11:15 last night from my brother, and he proceeded to tell us he had gotten into a car accident!!! THANKFULLY he and his 3 friends are alright, but his car is completely totaled, and it doesn't look like the police are going to place the blame on him, despite the fact that he ran into the other car. The other car had a stop sign, but there was a huge snowbank on the corner, so the guy was moving into the intersection and my brother, who didn't have a stop sign as he was on the major thoroughfare, didn't have time to stop and WHAMMO.

It was sure a not so nice start to the New Year, but it really can only go up from here!!!! After all, my brother proposed to his girlfriend last night after the accident and she said yes!
(though, am I wrong to be a little sad that they're wanting to get married this year, too; and before me, even??? I'm ecstatic for them, but part of me is going "this was supposed to be my year!!"... I hate this feeling...)

That looks really, really good trailmix!!!

Today is great. Well, the evening has been with the exception of my brother, who's been a first class .... nevermind... all night.

a: school is closed tomorrow... which means no final!

B: I just got an email from my math teacher, who proceeded to tell us that our final is....

a- 16 questions long
b- practicable online (making up my own words now. lol)
c- OPEN. BOOK.

It's DEFINITELY not a good idea to talk about that kind of stuff (working under the table) as I believe it's against the terms of this site. If he's caught "working under the table", it could mean deportation and a permanent ban from the US. He is NOT allowed to work AT ALL until he has the EAD in his hands.

As for your other questions, I really can't answer, but it wouldn't do any good to black out the ssn since there has to be documentation proving they are a US citizen, and even with that information, someone could take an identity. It's pretty much a ####### shoot if you can't go to the interview. I would definitely try to go, and then you can just take the information yourself and not have to worry about it.

I'm still quite a ways away from that point but like you, I am already thinking ahead about it. I plan to go there and bring her back with me. Reason being: it will be hard enough for her in the first place; never being away from home for any amount of time - let alone out of the country; She will also be leaving all her family and friends for the first time ( for more than just a few days); And she will have her 5 year old son with her. I can only imagine the emotional stress and lonliness she would be going though being in a foreign country, changing planes, worrying about customs, security checks, where to board her next flight, dealing with her carry-on baggage AND a 5 year old boy....all alone. It will be one of the most scariest and emotional times of her life and I am going to be there with her to comfort her and help her.

Season does make a diference as to the price of tickets but with the price of fuel headed where it is, I don't know if seasons will make a difference anymore. You are right. You DO have to meet in person. I wouldn't worry about GenSan. You will be ok there as long as your fiancee is with you.

does your fiance have an interview date already? Mine might be on august and i met some friends online who's interview dates are july-august and we're helping each other gather more information and requirements for our papers.. we might even go to the medical together. maybe she might wanna come with us or chat with us online?

I'm sure she would love someone to go to her medical with. Thank you for asking! We don't know her interview date yet but we are guessing early September but she plans on going early for her medical. We just got our MNL case number last week. When will you be chatting next?

Someplace I had Manila's link to check the date status of my fiancee's K-1. Now I can't find it amongst the miriad of links and forms I have saved in learning about all this. I originally got the link from VJ but can't even find it here now. Can anyone help me out please?

I called manila and asked if my fiancee could have her medical early and pick up her packet at st.lukes. I was advised by the gentleman on the phone to wait until the interview is scheduled before having the medical because the medical will expire if there is any delay having the interview.

Just wondering when is it that they need you to send the money to Manila for the interview. Think its a bank transfer or something like that. Reason I am asking is that are number is getting close if they go in case numbers and dont want to miss it. Thanks everyone ahead of time

In the packet manila sends you, there will be a list of banks that you can make your payment. Then you simply take your receipt to your interview. Someplace in this forum, someone posted the complete packet manila sends you.

:( I called and my fiancee's interview is not yet sceduled. :angry: .Since we are about a month behind those sceduled for Aug. 10, I will assume ours will be around the second week of september. B)

The Embassy’s Immigrant Visa Information Call Center in Manila at 1-909-101-7878. Callers in the USA can also contact the Call Center at 1-888-877-9888. There is a fee assessed to callers by the call center for its services. (Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 6:00 pm. Cost is about 53 pesos per minute). This number can be reached from the Philippines using a PLDT or SMART phone line with NDD access.

The 888 number from USA costs $18 per phone call.

My fiancee and I are nearing her interview date. She has just about everything ready. I know Manila requires a police report for the city she is currently living in. Does she need a police report for all cities she's lived in? (she's lived in one other). I remember reading about the requirements someplace but can't remember where and if it's all cities (even if ithey are all in Philippines) or only if there were other countries she's lived in. Does anyone know or can someone tell me where I read this? Thank you
