Patience is a virtue. Don't look in the past at the days you've been waiting. Look in the future to the time you will finally be together forever.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresI129 Photo requirements
The information about the photos that was sent to you is incorrect. You need full-frontal standard passport photos. Nothing you can do about it now until they send you an RFE. The delay should only be a few days though.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresCo-sponsor question
I currently have an excellent paying job but have only had it 6 months. Before that, I had no income for the past 3 years because I was going to school full-time. Technically, I would not need a co-sponsor as long as I can provide a statement from my bank, my employer, and my current tax returns. However, to avoid any possible delay, I will have a co-sponsor also. This way, if they decide I have inadequate proof of my financial stability, I already have the co-sponsor papers prepared to submit. I think this is one of those cases where too much is better.

I put mine in small plastic bags and paper clipped them to the G-325s. Mine to mine and my fiancee's on hers. When I got it back from NSC (another story) they had stapled them to the G-325s, but I wouldn't recommend using staples. let them do it.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresMedical: Incomplete Vaccination
Only my opinion because I do not know for sure, but I would say go back to wherever you had your first dose and get the second one. And be sure you get medical records that you received it. Make copies of the records and bring them all with you when you come here.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresNew member, same worries...
Hmmm....where to begin...? Your aunt and uncle can be the co-sponsors for your fiancee(..?..you never said) in Arizone if they meet the income guidelines and are Ameican citizens. And right, you will not need that until she fills out the I-134 Affidavit of Support to send you after you receive your NOA2. You will need to provide that information at the interview-step 3 if you want to call it that. Remember, you will not automatically be able to work (legally) as soon as you get here and are married. The EAD is needed after the marriage to allow you to work until you get your green card. Save your money and bring with you so you have something to live on while you wait for that paperwork to feed through the channels after you are here. The timelines will give an idea of the entire process time but in general, 6-8 months if you don't run into any problems or delays.
I forgot what other questions you had

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresQuestion 12 on 129

Looking at question 12 for the 129 it asks My Citizenship was acquired through Born in the US or Naturalization... I checked Born is the US...The it goes to ask give certifcate, date and place it was issued <I see no issue number on my BC...Then it says Parents? Parents what? And have you obtained a certifiate of your citizenship...Would this mean your BC? and again it asks for a number and date and place of issue...I have my ENTIRE Packet K1 completed and ready to snail mail in the morning and i just happend to go over it again and some how missed that entire section of question 12 and ive checked the examples and they are left blank....Help!!!!

If you are a US citizen by birth, the rest of 12 does not need to be filled out. I have read "leave it blank" and I have also read "put N/A". I left mine blank.

I was under the impression that when you submit an I-129F, all you need is to prove you have met in person within the past 2 years. Evidence of an ongoing relationship must be provided (if asked for) at a later point. Am I right?

I am in the same position you are except I have had no income for the past 3 years because of school. I make well above the 125% poverty level and my employer will sign a paper stating my position, full-time status, ,and salary. I will also have a co-sponsor just to be prepared in case the consulate requests more. You will be ok.

I had the same flight coming back from seeing my fiancee. In Nagoya, you get off the plane, go through customs (baggage check) and get right back on the plane. I believe they re-fuel the plane while everyone is going through customs. you have nothing to worry about there. Just follow the crowd as most others will be doing the same thing. In
Detroit, yes, get your baggage then report to immigration and customs. You will be in the shorter line there.

I'm in the same position you are. Trying to bank on my vacation time so I can go get my fiancee when her visa is approved and allow time for a wedding and honeymoon...but darn I miss her!!! As Gary said, leaving family and the international flight will be extremely stressful for her, especially if she has never gone far from home. My opinion: wait and go when her visa is granted and help her move.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresG-325A Question

When it asks if my fiance and I have met within the last two years and to describe this meeting, do I describe his last visit here or our first meeting? I'm a bit confused on that.

Also...

Declaration of how you met in person in the last two years. This should be a single typed page regarding question 19 of the I-129F. Make sure to sign and date it.

I suppose the same question applies to this as well. Should I explain that we've met several times in the last few years or...? And is there an example of the declaration of how we met in person anywhere on the site?

For reference, I'm the USC and my fiance resides in London, England.

Thanks for any advice you can offer! We're hoping to get this thing sent out soon but work is getting in the way. (I FINALLY got a job though so everything is going along smoothly!)

I would briefly describe each meeting with the most detail going into the first and last meeting and summerizing the others.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresDigital Evidence
I have all of my fiancee's and my chats and emails, including e-greeting cards, saved on disk. Over the past 21 months, I have been printing out all the chats and putting them in 3-ring binders (5 full ones so far!!). My original intent is to select one chat and e-mail from each month and print copies to send her to present as evidence of our ongoing relationship at her interview. Has anyone ever presented a CD of the thousands of chats and emails at their interview, besides the hard copies? What does anyone think of this idea?

Send originals of everything to show for evidence at the interview, and 2 sets of copies. One copy for the consulate if they choose to keep anything, and one copy for POE when she comes here, if they choose to keep anything.

if you're so worried about parking tickets why not just pay them

I agree. Seems simple enough to me.

LOL  very funny everyone. i know i told him to pay them but he doesnt seem to think that its that important if he does cuz everyone we work with gets these tickets and no one pays them back and nothing ever happens!! i will probably just pay them for him. it isnt that many but i figured i would just ask. Thanks for the laughs!!

Makes me wonder if this will create a problem at some later point if he thinks just because everyone else ignores the laws with no consequence, it's ok for him to ignore them also.

WOW, thanks one and all for all the good info. i have a question about the i-129f form, block 18 where it asks about the circumstance of ur meeting. do they want a very detailed story of the relationship there or they r just looking 4 the dates that u met and where it was? thanks again one and all for the posts, anybody else has any good info to add please do. my fiance lives in manila so travel won't be an issue for her going for the medical and interview

Thx, Bernard

Just summerize how you first met her and when/where you first met her in person. Include dates and locations. I included a brief recap of what we did.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresManila to USA..looking for advice.

Hi everybody. My fiancee and I are getting ready to apply for her K-1 visa. She is in the Philippines. We are looking for any advice that anybody who has gone through the process already from the Philippines to the US. Specifically any problems that you may have encountered and what could be done ahead of time to have smooth sailing through the process. A little about us. We do have a real and true relationship. We met online Sept 28, 2004. I visited the Philippines 2 times, once in Jan 05 and again in Aug 05, about 2.5 weeks each time. We have many pictures, phone bills, and many other things to prove our relationship is real. We do have an age difference. I am 47, she is 27. When we met I was still married, though legally separated. We know there are many posts about the process ppl went thru while getting K-1 visa. We are looking for tips that will help ensure we don't encounter any road blocks along the way. things that maybe you encountered along the way that u didn't expect. I will be filing at the Tx service center. thx in advance. will post our timeline shortly.

Get divorced. Make copies of everything. Send copies for the I-129F petition except original G-3325s. Circle the dates on receipts etc. so they are easier to notice. Put dates and location on the back of photos. After you get noa2, send the originals and 2 sets of copies to your fiancee. She will provide the originals for evidence and one set of copies for anything they want at her interview. The other set of copies is for immigration at POE when she comes here. Send in the correct amount of money for the petition. Age will not make a difference. Be honest about everything in your forms. Check, double check and triple check all forms before submitting them. Be patient. Be patient. Be patient. Have I forgotten anything?

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresVisiting fiance-to-be

Hi there
Im not sure if this is a bit of a stupid question, but thats never stopped me before so here goes... Im planning to go visit my girlfriend in July to propose to her. Last time I visited her back in Feb I told the nice man at immigration that I was going to visit a 'friend'. Should I tell him the same thing this time round or confess that Im visiting the States to get engaged? I kind of get the impression that their not too keen on people doing that as they think your going to run off to Vegas or something! Anyone any experience with this?
And if I do pretend Im just visiting a friend again, has anyone any 'creative' places where I could hide the ring? Box included mind you!
Seriously though - any advice would be much appreciated as the whole 15 hour trip to the Deep South is stressful enough without expecting to be turned right back round when I get there!

I would not mention the engagement plans. You're not lying if you say you are visiting a friend. Hiding the ring....? If you're meaning from customs, I wore mine on a chain around my neck when I went through customs and carried the empty box in my luggage. But that was so it wouldn't get lost. I wouldn't worry about cutoms finding it. If you are meaning hiding it from your prospective fiancee, my opinion is simple is better. It's not where the ring is hidden; It's how/where you propose.
