United Kingdommy Izabela will be here friday evening !!
i ll be ok.....my first wife died when i was 35. i was at her side.
i had feared this exact outcome with izabela but once it happened i really cant even compare it. i was devasted when my first died, and just sad and disappointed with what i have here.
i dunno...maybe like a car you buy and the engine blows up on you.
time to move on.
she took all teh food and most of my clothes. what a way to begin one's day.

take care ppeople and dont give up on love. it is worth it.

United Kingdommy Izabela will be here friday evening !!
well i am stunned and dont know what to say. she came, was a complete jackass and we are now done. she made it 6 days.
today she starts the day yelling at me, and when i get home from work it picks right up and when i am to the point i want to just walk out
then she wont let me leave, and then starts hitting me.
i have never hit any woman i have ever been with, and today she crossed that line. and we are finished. i grew up in a very abusive home and i absolutely will not tolerate
it in my own life or home.
and i am here wondering why would a woman move 7 thousand miles and then be so ill mannered and abusive?
saturday we had a huge fight because i got her a whole glass of beer instead of the half glass she asked for. is the 1/2 glass of beer upgrade really so offensive to citizens of the UK???
i honestly believe she been trying to provoke a situation where she would be justified in leaving. she did not act like this before.
every sound i made, every word spoken, every movement and every action did not meet her expectations. i could do nothing correctly. and she could do no wrong.
i tried to be nice is asking her to not be so forceful in how she talks to me. and we all know when we are being talked down to. and that is all i had.
i ll be back and read a few more times but then i probably will be gone from here. i am so sick and feel very bad right now. i expected one thing and got another.
how did i go from love to being abused in 6 days?

K-3 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresJust need to make sure
we got married
then filed for k3
they changed it to CR1 ...we did not know we should have done this. not sure if all get changed this way or not.
then we did all the forms and fees.
our local immigration office suggested we do it this way so she can have everything to work when she is ready when she comes over.
for us, it was painless. we had more pain on a personal level.. distance and time apart and fights. but we better and stronger now :)

US Citizenship General DiscussionApproved!
congrats!! well done !

Kathlene had her interview in Louisville yesterday. We got there 30 minutes early and turned in her letter. Her appointment was at 1:30 and she was called right at her appointment time.
th
She was back there about 15 minutes and came out & first told me she failed, but then smiled and showed me her paper!

They just asked a few questions about her application & then went to the testing. She got 100% six questions correct in a row, read one sentence & wrote one sentence. Then they told her to expect her oath ceremony in about a month!

As soon as we got back to the car she called her mother in the Philippines & told her. Her whole family was still awake waiting to her about her interview.

Thanks again for all the help & info available on this forum! It is better than any lawyer you could hire!

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionPlease don't laugh at me!!
hey it happens. dont beat yourself up over this.

LOL

I am expecting all of you to call me a dim wit LOL

I have been checking my status on the USCIS website and it has always said, 'YOUR CASE HAS NOT BEEN FOUND'. This disturbed me as I filed in Jun 2011.

Anyway, after my conversation with the straight talking USCIS lady today, she told me that I was using the wrong reference number to look it up..

She told me, and this is where I believe she thought I was as thick as doggy doo, 'you must use the APPLICATION NUMBER that is on your ASC BIO appointment letter, not the RECEIPT NUMBER on Receipt Notice...

Sure enough, she was right...... LOL

As I said, please don't laugh at me... ha ha ha

PhilippinesAge difference of fiance to fiancee?
i had quit dating or caring a long time ago. so sick of the ####### from women my age and all their issues. my first wife passed away in 2001. at first it was some fun but after a while it just gets to the point where i was fixing their car, feeding them or just for sex. really i want and need better than that. so my wife now well we met online(in 2007) and been apart some 2 times but we keep coming back together. and now we are good. she is 8 years younger than me. very happy and close.
and i have NO IDEA about the younger women.
in fact i have no idea about any woman LOL Posted Image

i did my own RFE.argh
i was working and stressed and lack of sleep and doubted my own knowledge.
and did not send all my documents with ds230.
i read the original marriage cert is required. i sent a certified copy from the county we were married in, we ordered
extra certified copies when we were married. we knew we would need it.
any thoughts or ideas if the cert copy will be good? it was done by the same lady who made the original, right after
we got married before we left her office.

and i sent what we have. still have last police check to be translated from Polish

yeee haw !

You've gotten answers from other countries that aren't true for a medical in London. Try NHS for free shots at any time. They don't have to do them free since it's for immigration, but many will. If you know your London case number (LNDxxxxxxx assigned at NVC) that's all Knightsbridge clinic will need to schedule an appointment. You don't have to have an interview letter. They do like to see the police report, so hope you didn't mail your only copy off to NVC. A photocopy is fine.

This is the information about Knightsbridge. The medical questionnaire to fill out before the appointment is on the last page.
http://photos.state....ical_letter.pdf

Try posting in the UK Forum for London specific answers. Embassy and medical exam procedures are different depending on the country.

i need to know about the dr appointments for my wife. is there a time frame they need for when she goes and gets this done? we do not have an embassy interview date yet. ds230 is sent in but i have messed up and did not send in all documents at once.i should have that sorted and the last ones mailed off by tueday.
she wants to book her appointment for 3 weeks from today. we want to be pro active as best we can and have this and immunizations done asap. we just dont want to get it done and have them say you should have waited now go do it again.

yes we have. and as any relationship with many thousands of miles in between us, we have had our differences.but i still pressed to keep the visa application moving.
and so here we are. almost getting there LOL
it seems to me after embassy date it all seems to move faster. except my last submission of our ds230 all of our forms have all been neat and thoroughly checked before we send, so no
rfe or any thing missed.

Wow you have been at NVC a long time. July... No wonder you are frustrated with your process.
Good Luck

senselessly complicated process what kind of intestinal fortitude and reading comprehension you possess?

immigration is the specific domain of congress and this is enumerated in the constitution , and just look at the immigration laws.
congress is bought and sold by special interests and that is reflected by the numerous silly laws in our immigration process.
and personal attacks and insults on the internet are tasteless and juvenile. but if that is how you interact with people that is your problem, not mine.

well good news i expected. she has the translation in hand and our other 3 documents and they are on the way to me, so i can forward to NVC.
still we are happy to have our documents just about done. i guess with holidays and all my other two envelopes have not been worked on yet. so i'll get the end of our
documents sent in.
so i am calling it good news and we are happy to be moving along.

What does that even mean? What "special treatment" do you refer to? And what would it have to do with your CR-1 process?

If you want to talk about "meddlesome congressional 'help,' there's a forum called "Politics and Religion" that it would apply to. I can't wait to see what you mean and how it has adversely affected your spouse's immigration process.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Proceduresthe frustrations
ok - so it's not any K-3 you originally posted in the K-3 forum. The DS-230 document intake at NVC - that's the foreign spouse's VISA application - so it must be filled out 'in her voice', not the USCitizen's spouse voice. Needs signature as well, plus the civil documents on the foreign spouse. It's best to send it in as one complete packet, that DS-230 packet. Good Luck, whatever yer doing;I like the NVC process, much it's more interactive than the USCIS process. To me, it's refreshing, as it 'seems' like there's movement..yes i understand. but i made my own mistake but it will be all resolved.

and yes it is all correct and proper and signed. and one of the seven documents that apply to us is with the submission, and i sent the other two the next morning with a coversheet.so NVC's request for the additional documents and the documents will likely pass each other in the mail. to our credit we have filled out everything on a computer and the only hand written parts are the signatures.we have made numerous copies and checked and corrected until we have the forms completely filled out and properly signed. i figured as the process goes having clean and correct paperwork that will be easy to read and no extraneous comments or extras will be good for our application. i even went back and changed all the forms to be filled out in all capital letters as it is supposed to be. also read up on i864 and realized i needed a joint sponsor and did all of that , so one less delay as they dont have to stop the process and ask for that. we have tried to anticipate all teh problems and solutions and have it all sorted out before we send in. she is near terrified of the embassy interview....i hope she does good and all is fine

" Note: K-3 Filers have (automatically) filed for a IR1/CR1 Visa (I-130) and may obtain either"
NVC already made this change for us. i know what i have and what i need and now on to my point to anyone who is in the process and nearing the same stage as we are, please make sure you understand and dont forget/or do your paperwork late at night when you are tired. i realized my mistake that same evening and had as much of it fixed as i can in less than 8 hours later. in our situation she has obligations she has to meet and has to be there till May. so i dont think any delays from this,if any at all will effect us.
of course when she has the packets in hand and it is all done i am betting it will drive her crazy.
ScottnIzabelaMaleUnited Kingdom2011-12-26 11:22:00
IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Proceduresthe frustrations
yeah the difference is married vs engaged for k3 to cr1 . NVC has made our change. we have 4 documents to send in, and she has 3 of them already.we should have it all sent in in a week or two.for us (married) and her over there i am her agent and send everything here to the NVC address on the cover sheets.from nvc e mail questions and on the phone i am supposed to submit all documents and she is supposed to just have her things she can only get there. so no i dont have to submit directly anything to the Embassy.
on the good side all of our submissions have all be good and no additional requests or any issues for us.except my mistake this time but we will likely have it settled before they can send us notification that i need to submit our other documents.
i honestly think there should be a better way to do this. a road map of the forms and fees would be helpful and also a better try at a timetable. maybe based on the fact that all submissions were correct and no additional documents needed.there is too much stress and worry in the process as it is now.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Proceduresthe frustrations
so frustrated with a senselessly complicated process. i sent in our ds230 but i forgot i needed to send in our documents. it seems i read that somewhere
before, so the very next day i sent the 3 documents i had with coversheet and she is still awaiting police certificate from Poland to be translated. we have everything else just need to forward to me and i 'll send in.
it is sad to see just how saturated this process is with meddlesome congressional "help".it is sad to see the citizens and law abiding make an honest mistake and get branded for life, but illegals from central america and mexico(and honestly others but the largest offenders really mess it up for all of us) get extra special treatment.

Yes we both signed it. Could there be a problem because she did not take my last name?

Her daughter came with her on a K2 visa. I don't see anything that would affect that.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsEveryone should stop acting like big babies
This is the best thread I have seen in the last 6 months!!

Seriously, did you think your Visa process was going to be given quickly?

I told my fiancee to get ready for at least a one year journey! That was giving all the ####### that I have seen and heard here.

Maybe some of you should have read about all the Visa ####### that goes on everyday?!!! We have adjusted fine. It is fun for us to talk about the drama and laugh at how long it takes. Maybe some of you need to relax.

I didn't check anything till 4 months or more. If you do not have the time or patience for the visa...you should figure out what you want. Its not going to happen the next day!!

Prepare your fiancee...or wife or husband. Let them know its going to be a journey. It could be a long one. If you truly love her or him.....Its going to be worth it!

Good Luck

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresHow soon can we call DOS to find out interview?

Hi DavidQ, we have the same timeline as you. I am searching for the June tickets too. The prices were expensive around $1600. I am in CA. Can I know where you found the good deals? Also, have you found any good hotels in Guangzhou near the consulate?

Thanks.

Heya, I checked for the the week of June 10 flying out and coming home on June 18th. that is where I got the flight for 1275.00 When I checked just from San Fran It was 1100.00 Of course that is flying into Shanghai. I have never been there so the fiancee says depending on what day the interview is she will go with me to Shanghai and spend a few days "having a look" SHe has been there and knows it. I hhave not. So I would like to check things out also.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresHow soon can we call DOS to find out interview?
I think I have checked every possible search engines and airlines directly. Starting June 1st there is nothing under 1500.00. Summer Travel season and oil prices I am sure are the problem.

I did find a flight From Denver to Shanghai. Layovers in LA and SF on the way there. But just Layover in LA on the way home. 1275 on priceline. Still around 60 seats left so I have a little time. As long as the price doesn't go up?!?! CTRIP gives me a flight from Shanghai to Guangzhou for little less than 100 dollars. Not bad! Redeye flight but doesn't bother me.

Thanks for every ones help. I did not make it home in time to call DOS tonight so I will take all my information with me tomorrow. GZ consulate was closed on Monday anyways. I will start calling tomorrow.

Thanks again!!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresIs it Enough.
I am in the final stages of my K1, with China. Our interview should be within the next month or so.

I did front load a bit. What I did was provide and email of everything that was going on in our lives. Maybe 30 emails over 1 year. I did not provide one page of any chats. I submitted a letter that stated if you would like to see our chats then I can provide over 3000 pages of our driveling of what she was doing and what I was doing. Some copys of our phone bills.

What I did show was my boarding passes.....my passport with all stamps.....receipts of hotels and where we visited. I felt it was more than enough of evidence of us being together. I only sent 20 photos with us and her family together.

I feel its quality ....not quantity

Too each there own. I am just telling you my experience.

I wish you the best and very good luck!!!

Everday someone complains about the wait time....EVERY DAY!

Did you read the guidelines that it may take 4-6months? That is just to get your NOA2. Then you will wait another 1-2months for your NOA3. Then depends on your consulate that your interview MIGHT be how many days?

Relax!!!!

I am going thru the same process....I never called my rep....why? cause I was within the guidelines.

United KingdomMedical Review - London
best of luck at your interview !!

Hey guys, though i'd post a review of my medical today!

I arrived at 1:15pm for a 1:30pm appointment and was greeted by a nice lady on reception who gave me the 2 forms to fill out, and took my passport, immunisation records, letter from doctor regarding medical history, and 1 passport photo.

I filled out the form and within 10 minutes of waiting I was called by a very chirpy man for my chest X-Ray. I was told to take off my top half of clothing, leave the bottom half, and put on basically a dressing gown (was also told to "put my hair up like a sumo wrestler"...)

All of that took less than 10 minutes and then I was directed to a seperate waiting room (still in the gown!). I probably waited 15-20mins and then Dr Sayed came and got me. I must say she was absolutely lovely! Really put me at ease. She asked me a few questions, basically a repeat of whats on the form, but did repeat the mental health and drug abuse question a few times.

She asked me if id had a smear test and when I said no told me to get one right away, which worried me as I didnt think I needed that for the visa. Turns out, you dont, but shes VERY passionate about people having and had a bit of a rant about the NHS waiting until youre 25!

I then sat on the bed and was asked to read lines form a vision chart.

Then I lay down on the bed, she basically prodded and poked all over, and then listened to my breathing on front and back.

Then the blood test. She did tell me I had the worst veins she's seen and she couldnt find one anywhere (this happenes whenever I have to give blood!) She was really great though, none of the horrible prodding and getting it wrong. She found a vein and couldnt get much from it so ended up doing it from the vein in my wrist!

Then she just chatted while we finished up, and told me to wait in the waiting room for a few more minutes while they completed my forms.

I dressed, waited less than 5 minutes, went to the window where they gave me my documents back, and I paid and left!

All in all took less than and hour and a half, they were all extremely friendly and kept wishing me lots of luck!

I worried for nothing!! :star:

i always say my people came from scotland and england. that is about all i know of tracing them back and it is noo bigger concern to me. but damn people are sometimes overzealous in where they be from here.
i am from Alabama :) and colorado people who have been here since birth are all proud about it. when i came here it was the rudest most arrogant place i ever saw. the nicest and most real people i have met here in colorado have all been from new york.

United Kingdomthe age old question of how to keep in touch...
you can do your phone line over the internet. call the internet provider and see if you can get a bundle--services grouped together--for a better price.
FYI--
on all internet traffic, voice takes precedent over data. here is the reasoning--
data is broken down into smaller packets and they scatter and travel and arrive and its good.
human voice communications dont work so good if interrupted, so voice always take priority.
it is written into all they various protocols
i learned this in my computer networking classes.
TCP/IP and OSI models are boring but they are how this all works :)

best of luck

scott

my UKC husband and i recently moved to a lovely new apartment. one of the things we let go of in the move was our landline. i had kept it for DSL cable, and previous to that for a reasonably good unlimited calling plan to the UK. $40/month for landline to landline calls. through verizon. (i got my money's worth every month!)

but the landline is gone. and we have some sort of fiber optic internet, which is relatively fast (up to 3Mbs, and its symmetrical).

my husband started looking today at options for speaking on the 'phone' with UK friends and family.

i would LOVE any advice offered about a service or program that might work for us. we are looking for the ability to call both landlines and mobile phones in the UK. we want others to be able to call us without it costing them a fortune or requiring them to become a telecommunications expert.

we'd be happy to use skype. my husband read about some sort of phone that you can essential hook up to your computer that will act like a 'real phone' and allow others to call you from their 1. landline 2. mobile phone 3. computer. has anyone had any experience of this?

i feel like people on VJ must have some experience of this topic so i thought this might be a good place to get information!

thanks so much in advance!

United KingdomMy IO's take on what you need vis a vis proof to remove a child from the country
thanks for sharing and good to hear you had no issues with it

I am posting this in the London forum only as it likely varies consulate to consulate.

I have two children I intend to move to the States with. One is my fifteen year old daughter and the other, my twelve year old son. The two cases are a little different so I'll briefly give the context of each, hopefully this information will be of some use to someone as the websites give little clarity to what the custodial requirements are. Naturally, it might vary case to case but they seemed pretty affirmative about what was and was not needed (spoke with two Embassy workers about this).

Twelve year old: Still see's his father regularly but his father and I were never married so there was never any shared parental responsibility. Had a letter (not notarised) simply stating he knew of my wishes and would not object. he'd typed the letter and signed it. My solicitor had written to him later to confirm that we had the letter and if it was NOT his signature he had fourteen days to contest the letter my firm had been supplied with or we'd take it it was fine and standing. When my solicitor did not hear back he sent ME a letter confirming my sons father had indeed NOT responded. We opted to take the action of if you DO NOT do anything, that is confirmation, as he was reluctant to be honest to sign anything in the first place. he and I don't get on and naturally noone one is thrilled to have their child leave the country. As he had always said 'tell your solicitor to back off....signing once should be all thats required of me'. He was happy (ish) to furnish us with the first letter for his son's sake, but really I could not have expected him to happily accompany me to a solicitors to have it sworn, there is a violent history there and he flips quite quickly so I try and have as little to do with him as possible. It was nice he even wrote the first letter.

Fifteen year old: I was married to her father so he technically has joint parental responsibility. However, he has not seen her for twelve years and does not pay maintenance. My solicitor wrote to him twice asking permission. On the second time of asking he unhelpfully just slammed his signature down onto the foot of the letter with no further explanation and sent it to my solicitor. My solicitor seemed happy enough with this.

I wasn't particulary happy with either response as neither was notarised. SO, I swore an affidavit and had THAT notarised. the affidavit stated the reasons why it would be unwise to pursue further official confirmation from either (difficult past relationships) and swore that neither child had
a)outstanding custody cases
b)any objection themselves to moving
c)a situation where the father had not been duly infomred of our intentions and also given ample time to contest it.

At the head of the affadavit I listed the childrens details/passport no. etc. MUST GET IT NOTARISED as it isn't official enough. They seemed to like that it was sworn.

When it came time for the interview they did not question my fifteen year old AT ALL on any of this, which they could have done as she was stood there and old enough to be interviewed. I presented them with ALL correspondance from my solicitor showing efforts had been made to get agreements from the fathers. I gave them the signatures of the fathers and the public notary document. I asked them what the requirements actually were for removing children to America and he said this (well, both officers I spoke to confirmed this):

ALL WE NEED IS TO SEE PROOF THAT THE FATHERS KNOW AND DON'T MIND, THESE SIGNATURES ARE JUST FINE WITH THE SUPPORTING DOCUMENTS AND AFFIDAVIT, ITS JUST SO AS WE KNOW SOME CUSTODIAL CASE OR OTHER WON'T CROP UP ONCE YOU'VE LEFT.

Really hope this is of some help to someone as right up until the interview I was so, so, so worried about whether this could trip me up as I didn't have full custody of one of them and neither father had a public notary witness the document they DID sign. But we WERE approved and with no eyebrows raised regarding the seemingly complaex situation of custody and odd forms from the fathers (especially with the one with paretal responsibility just sticking his signature down on the solicitors letter!)
