Cheese & Kisses keep your head up high girl. All you need to do is remember that we work merely to live, but we do not live to work. Here are some links I found on local job listing within the Michigan area. Maybe you can send your resume to some of them and see if you get a hit? I can also help you if you need a resume or something. I am all paperwork crafyt like *hug*

MLive- Local Jobs

Job Hunt

Michigan Jobs - Monster.com

Government Jobs Listings in Michigan

There are tons more and most of these allow you simply to send in your resume. If you send your resume to 20 places per day, then you are likely to get a call from someone perhaps. Just make it a goal or something and if you can't count 20 in a day than send another resume to one you already sent it too and they will simply know that you are serious and also you can count it as one off your list and make a game of it lol.

King Soopers also has some stores in Michigan and here is the link for that.

King Soopers

You can send your resume to them and also to Safeway out there and they offer a good Union job that gives good medical benifits and vacation packages and stuff. I would hit the grocery stores up right away and then after you submit the resume start calling them. Don't talk to the pee ons either, ask for a manager or someone directly and request an interview. I know you can do it. Even when jobs are low, there is always someone looking for something... gah wish i could find some people to come work for me in Colorado lol

yeah Ewok has no clue what's wrong. I have been talking to him for awhile about it now, but he says everything seems fine. I just wanted to make sure that I was not tripping out or something! Thanks for checking.

I was hunting UCIS looking for the I-134 Affidavit of Support information and it says there is no fee, but the is a $1,000.00 fee for the I-134A so I am thinking that I won't have to pay for the next step. Do you suppose that they updated the USCIS site to reflect the inflation costs?
RingsFemaleAustralia2007-06-06 14:01:00
Asia: East and PacificLAND DOWNUNDER
I have no idea how we are going to pay those fees, but we will figure it out surely *worries* :(

Thanks Hammy for all of your help. Loke and I have used so many of your posts in our process. We appreciate the vaccination posts a lot. We are still hoping to work out what else he needs done.

We moved our medical up so hopefully he will get the packet from the Embassy *twitches* soon. The NVC said that they sent it to Australia on 05/30/07, but when Loke called them they would not let him know if they had received it yet or not. They told him that he will just have to wait for the packet *tries not to hyperventilate*

Anyway CONGRATS to you all for the jobs! I think that Loke has to wait for a workers visa with the K3 so he may not be able to get a job right away (another reason to begin freaking out about these fees) We are hoping that we will beat some of the inflated costs :(

I think that I fall into the bracket on the AOS (Affidavitt of Support) for the (no fee) but I am not sure now. I have been questioning it, but there is no way I will have $900 in time *hyperventilates again*
Are there any sort of waivers for fees for single moms? haha gah.... I hope things don't fall apart. *grinds teeth*

Hammy I have no clue on phone deals :( I don't have a cell phone or anything or I would help, but I do know that there are specials all the time. Maybe some company names might help:

Cell Phone Companies (That I know of)
Verizon
Sprint
Qwest
T-Mobile
Nextel

Maybe you can google these and see what deals they are offering? I hope this helps some *hugs*

Awe thanks you guys. I am so relieved. I called NVC today and they said that they alread forwarded the petition to the US Embassy on 05/30/07. Loke is going to call in the morning to see what he can find out. I can't believe how fast things are suddenly happening! eeeeeeeeeeeeee!

I think maybe because I am doing the K3 that I have to do the I-134 and not the I-864, but they seem to be similar forms so I am getting them both ready and when the information comes, I am going to just send the one that they ask for. Omg I am feeling such relief to be able to move on. My life, Loke is going to get more immunization shots tomorrow :(
We do not want to miss a beat. I miss him so much *sigh*

Either way both of these forms are showing up on USCIS as $0.00 and it is not on the rate increase form, but if you are worried about it, then I would prepare to save the money in case and when you get the information, then follow it to a tee and if it asks for money then you will at least have the funds saved and ready to go. That's my advice, but I still feel like a newbie so you may want to see what others say.

Do you mean the AOS? That was the I-134 I thought. Either way there is not a fee that I can find on either form.

Vylex- I called and checked to see if mine was at NVC just this morning and the machine said that they did not have it on file. So keep checking your mail because obviously they are behind in updating the systems or something. *hugs*

Awe finally. It has been such a long road. I thought of every miserable thing that could have happened. I hope you get yours soon too Vylex! If you e-mail them, they will let you know if you are approved and you may get a notice of NVC receiving it without your NOA2 being issued yet so keep an eye on your mail. The website has not been updated to reflect our approval.

Vylex - Call this number and use your receipt number from your petition to see if NVC has received your case and assigned a number. If they have received it, you can obtain your case number and if they have not recived it, then you will be told by the automated message that they have no record of it and it is still at CSC

603 334-0700

The USCIS got slammed with more HIB applications this year than they ever have. They issued a press release on it. These employers pay the big bucks to get people pending workers visa's processed faster. This hit on USCIS has literally stopped processing for all other pending visa's. There are a lot of people at CSC who have been approved and petitions sent to NVC without an NOA2 having been received yet. They claim that they will catch up with the NOA2's. However you can call the NVC and check to see if your case is there.

Thanks guys. Your words are appreciated. I am trying to think of it that way, but I am such a worrier and then Loke had to go home so I am all emotional lol. He is going tomorrow to get the test results for his blood screen to tell him what vaccinations he still needs, I finished the majority of our Affidavitt of support and the duplicate copies and stuff on my end here for his interview and he is also doing his police clearance and fingerprinting stuff in the morning. All in all, this minor stuff has made me feel that at least we are doing something productive and then I went out and mowed the lawn instead of moping lol... I am such a nerd sometimes.

I really thank you all for all your support for us *hugs*

I have checked and I am over the poverty line by a good haul. I was just concerned mainly because most people who submitted petitions before or after us have already been approved and I am wondering what the hold up could be. We have not gotten an RFE or anything and we were touched on the 17th, but people who have submitted petitions after ours are seeing approvals and it has us down. If they are done in order, then I can only worry something may be wrong or something. I tried to call and all they can tell me is that it is processing. I worked real hard on our petitions and made them all beautiful in binders with tabs and everything to make it really easy. I followed every checklist I could find to make sure I didn't miss anything. You think maybe I made it look too nice and therefore it looks suspecious? lol that would be my luck...

I have one Cherry Ripe left *weeps* I am savoring it.

I miss Loke achingly now. I look everyday for a touch. I started doing our paperwork and I have a really odd question now lol. I am done with our Affidavitt of Support for the most part with the exception of some minor things and the last minute signing and stuff. I make enough money to support him, but I have this thing called "bad credit" dun dun dun dun... anyway do you think they consider that sort of stuff or will they simply look at just my earnings? I already have a sponsor lined up in case, but this little snag from my past is bugging me enough to just some out and ask. :(

I am bummed out now... I just wish that he could stay home. I know you guys have had this feeling before too. I was wishing that our NOA2 would come while he was here, but we seem to be having tough luck. We got the slow dude doing our petitions lol

Thanks so much Paul! I have been frantically checking each day in hopes of seeing some change, but I did not get an e-mail notification so I am assuming that they stuck the petitions into another pile on someones desk. Both of our petitions are somehow at CSC. I hate waiting. I am so damn impatient, but at least Loke is here to tame me for a couple more days

No NOA2 yet so I am starting to get really worried. I think I will try for patience (he is keeping me busy anyway)

We went to the Garden of the Gods today and yesterday I took him to downtown Denver to see... uhh stuff. Here is a photo of us at the state capitol!

Welcome to the forum David! I have a David in Melbourne too! You will find that the Aussie American couples are simply the best! Good luck in your journey here! I know that you will find so much valuable information.

Hammy thanks for the recipe. When david comes home, I am throwing a party and I need some really tradionally Aussie food dishes. I want it to be easy because quite frankly I am not a cook :P

Any help is greatly appreciated!
