It's an official sex contract that binds you by the power of looooooooooooove. You cannot pass go and you cannot collect $200 unless you put out tongue.gif you have the right to remain silent and anything you say can be used against you in a court of love. My poor husband is arrested without a chance of bail or probation. He is hereby deemed my love slave for life and he cannot break the bound contract or else I will tie him up in contempt of court and beat him... he may like that actually... perhaps I should rethink my form of punishment lol

You will tie him up in contempt of bed court hehehe good.gif Cheers! happy.gif

He is doomed and shall reap the consequences of his actions pursuant to act 2648957 of the loooooooooove law. If he resists arrest then I will cuff him.

PhilippinesHeartbroken and deceived---need help/advice
You know... I appreciate your patience with her. I understand that you love her and didn't want to make a mistake and give up something you have worked so hard to obtain. I really do see your love for her when you write. I can understand the loss you must feel. It must be horrible for you to endure. I am sorrry that you have to love and let go.

It is not as easy as many of these people make it out to be and I commend you for doing it in a honest, respectible and in good taste. When I think of your actions... I think of my own patient husband... Who I want to kiss right nowfor being who he is.

It's not a cake walk... it's not so simple... it's a life choice... your time to make this decision is your own and I honor that. I commend how you have handled it and I think that for a man who loves a woman... in the end...she is the one that has lost. Your patience is something many women look for. Do not loose hope on everlasting love.

It is better to have loved and lost then not to have loved at all. Do what you must do to protect yourself and in the meantime...keep your dignity... it looks good on you!

I am sorry this has happened to you. It's amazing to me how easily some people throw the word love around as if it has no meaning. Despite what everyone says here, you know if this marriage is going to work out for you in your heart and you also know if she has done this to you throughout your marriage and before that, her "love" was probably not on the same scale as your own. I am sorry for your misfortune and you should like a smart enough guy to get through it and protect yourself. My thoughts are with you.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsTOUCHED QUESTION & HELP!!
Awe hey slow down there a bit for a moment. You were touched when they sent your NOA1. This is good news and that means that they have your case. The processing time for this is up to 180 days. Most petitions are approved sooner than that. Look at my timeline... Loke and I waited forever and they never even notified us twhen they did approve the petition. If you sent your petition in April, then your realistic look is July or August. Some people are approved faster and some are approved slower. Do not worry, just check and be patient and you will be okay. There is nothing you can do but hurry up and wait.

This is the longest and hardest part, so try to mentally prepare yourself for it... I won't lie... it sucks to wait, but it is reality :(

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsTOUCHED QUESTION & HELP!!
CLICK HERE and then go to case status and online processing times on the left
start and account, enter your NOA1 receipt number and look at the date of that petition on the "LAST UPDATED" date part of your petition. If it is dated after the date they received it, then it has been touched...check each day to see if that date changes. Your case status will stay as pending so the date is all you have... it is a small thing, but it makes you feel good

I haven't posted, but I read your last thread and what happened with Ahmed and I am truly sorry to hear this, but he may have a good explaination who knows. Either way I know that your hurting and this is a hard thing to go through and these people are right.. you should take some time to be with your daughter and let time take your ache away. Men can come and go, but as long as you remember who you are and how strong you are, then you will beat this hurt ere the end.

Oh and stay clear of men who have too many assumptions and think they know it all too... for some reason most of them go by the name of "Charles" in my experience... just an opinion though...

Middle East and North AfricaAnd speaking of jealousy....
It was odd for me in Australia because although they speak English, they all could tell that I was American. I didn't get treated badly, but the difference in culture was pretty amazing. I was lucky that Loke was around me all the time to explain things to me lol. If his dad would have been in charge, I would have been stuck watching a five day never ending Cricket game lol

Middle East and North AfricaI think I'm cursed lol
I try to always offer feedback to people, but life takes over sometimes and my brain remembers stuff at a rate of 0 per 100 and sometimes I forget where I posted, but I try to go back and read the places I have posted to catch up...sometimes it works and sometimes it does not.. nevertheless, no persons words are useless.....anything said here or advice can be a gift to another person. All we can do is our best. I think if you post and you are not satisfied with the response.. try posting it agin and you may get a different reposponse... nevertheless we are all playing the same immigration game so let's work together <3
RingsFemaleAustralia2009-09-11 01:34:00
Middle East and North AfricaI think I'm cursed lol
I find that people who say the right things... end the conversation because there is nothing left to be said. You are not a curse, but merely a person with the right words. When this happens, smile and know you helped someone <3

I am the same way.. look at my profile if you don't believe me.

Middle East and North AfricaWorking in the US
Well I can only post based on my own experience. My husband worked in radio and it took him about a year to find a job even with a valid EAD. So I guess what I am saying is that if he is passionate and this is what he wants to do and he has a good resume, then he will find a place where he wants to be. I don't know how long your husband has been here, but make sure his resume is more American than his home country resumes are because it's amazing how different we do things in different countires. He will find something, don't let him give up the fight.

Middle East and North AfricaHow did we all meet our loved one??
First off I would like to say that people date for years and they go to dinner and a movie and maybe get a kiss at the door at the end of the night, but how much communication do they really get during those dates? People who meet online probably know their loved one a lot deeper than someone they dated for a couple years.

With that being said....

I met Loke online on a book forum. He made up a game and I was supposed to moderate the game for thousands of kids all over the world... well the game didn't make sense so I added him to my IM and I was shooting questions at him like a cannon ball. He was rude as hell to me and said that he didn't know all the answers yet he was still fine tuning the game. Nevertheless we got into a fight about it and I was like you son of a ^$%#%$@ you can't treat me like that. Anyway I checked his profile and damn that man was not only arrogant, but he was smoking hot as well. I told him he was lucky he was freaking cute because that's all he had going for him. He said that he had a girlfriend for four years and I told him I was married anyway so there was no damn crime in who I thought was cute or not.

Anyway we became really good friends and talked everday and he had to stop talking to me because he was having troubles in his relationship and he wanted to fix it. I was fine with it because I was having trouble with my own marriage. We stopped talking for 10 months.

One day he logged into IM and I was like OMFG it's you and he told me she left him and he was broken hearted and I told him I was going through divorce and life was bad for me too. We met in 2004 and we were just friends. I poured my soul out to him because he was this man on the other side of the world that would never tell my secrets. It wasn't like we were ever going to be together.......

One night in 2007 we were both celebrating our freedom and drinking vodka. He got down on one knee over web cam and said "Marry me" and I was like.... "No way!" and he said "Do it, marry me and I will pay for it and if you get here and I am not good enough for you then we will make it a committment ceremony and it won't be legal"

The next morning I was like ... he won't remember that... we were so drunk. Little did I know that he not only remembered it but was planning my flight lol.

I got on that plane and in 2007 four years after we first started talking... I touched his skin and I kissed his lips and I married that man.

We have been married for 2 1/2 years and he is here with me in the USA and has been for two years and I couldn't be happier. He is my soulmate.

True love is not something we find... love finds us.

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionBoth go to the interview

Rings,

I cannot find the words to express how strongly i disagree with this.

The decision is going to depend first and foremost on the visa officer's impression of the person they see standing before them. The paper is just for the file - it will be used to support whatever decision the consular officer makes, deemed sufficient or insufficient, based on the officer's personal assessment of the person.

Yodrak

.....

REMEMBER: IF IT IS NOT ON PAPER THEN IT DOES NOT EXIST. THE USCIS DOES NOT CARE ABOUT ANYTHING THAT THEY CANNOT SEE IN BLACK AND WHITE.... PERIOD

otherwise it's just ####### that's made up to them.

.....

Hey I see what you are saying totally, but I see nothing wrong with backing yourself up in any case. I am an American Citizen and I do paperwork for a living. I write up legally binding contracts all the time and although I am not an immigration lawyer, I do know the value behind proof.

Sure they will judge the person... of course they will. I am not in any way in disagreement with you on that at all.

My point here is that if you can prove it in black and white than you should. Backup documentation only enhances your chances and that is what I am getting at with this. You can sit there and tell someone that you are in an established relationship, but that is not going to get you the visa. The government wants you to prove to them that you have met and established a relationship and that comes with proof on paper. This is why they want to see travel documents and such.

Knowing your spouse is also a factor of course. They will ask questions expecting that you will know the answers, but if they ask for proof of something, then you should be ready to provide that in an instant. Gathering documents to prove your case should be a priority in my opinion.

This is why I feel that it is important - just protecting yourself with backup is all

I agree with Yodrak here in that it does not prove the validity of the relationship. If anything you should be together for moral support. You cannot prove that you have a relationship by merely standing next to each other.

This is what I recommend:

Get sworn affidavits from all your friends and family stating the nature of your relationship and have them sign the statement in front of a notary and stamped (certified) and bring these with you in case you need them. It is best to have them from both sides of the family of course.

Phone bills, e-mails, letters and any other forms of communication that you can prove (You need to prove time here so you want a good assortment of date rages) and things without dates and times and all that may be less effective.

Study the sample questions in the guides and test each other on what you may not possibly know about each other... for example, I had my husband memorize my mothers address in case. The more you know about each other, then the better off you will be.

Bring photos and all travel documents to prove that you were in the same places at the same times. Bring credit card statements of when you spend money in that country (visa versa)

Call all of the people who bill you to see if you can put his name with your name on the bills. some of them may do it and some will not. If you can get bills with both your names, then that will prove your intent to begin merging your lives together. For Example: i put my husband on my medical insurance so that I would get a medical card with both our names on it. It provides yet another form of proof that you are beginning to take the neccessary measures to have a married life.

REMEMBER: IF IT IS NOT ON PAPER THEN IT DOES NOT EXIST. THE USCIS DOES NOT CARE ABOUT ANYTHING THAT THEY CANNOT SEE IN BLACK AND WHITE.... PERIOD

otherwise it's just ####### that's made up to them.

make copies of everything... you will need copies of everything in AOS. I mean every tiny scrap of paper. Good luck! *hugs*

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionBoth go to the interview

As stated, it completely depends on the Embassy. Contact the Embassy/Consulate at which the interview will be held, and inquire.

Precisely. Contact the Embassy as stated above. I know the Sydney Australian Embassy allows this, but the Embassy in which you will be having your interview may not allow this. It is best to check with them first because they are constantly changing procedures and rules and it is better to hear it from the horses mouth. If they do say that you can attend, then print out that e-mail and take it with you to the interview. You should have it in writing either way.
