I think that's about normal Uzume. We had our NOA1 on January 29 and I'm not expecting NOA2 or touches for awhile, hopefully by the end of April.

Hi January filers! Just checking in to see if there has been any exciting activity with anyone yet (Besides RFEs!) Hopefully by this time next month a bunch of us will be getting touched and getting approvals. I can't wait! I miss the USA but don't want to go back without my fiance! I really feel for all of you who are seperated.

Okay January filers I am looking for some NOA2's to start very soon from all the service centers. I wish all of us a speedy process.

Do you think we really will see some NOA2's already? (except those who filed at Vermont)!

January filer here... I was looking at our timeline and it says at the bottom that our application could be "adjudicated by May 13th." What exactly does this mean? I looked that word up and it doesn't make sense. Thanks!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresUK to USA
Thanks all for your help so far. I just have one more question... My parents have agreed to sponsor my boyfriend (not quite fiance yet, but soon) since I have been travelling for so long without working. Is there somewhere on this website or another website where it tells someone what a co-sponsor should send, as far as letters, bank accounts, etc. I want to make sure we send all the correct info, and soon, because we want him to come to the states in June! Thanks again:)

Thank you Julezabelle!

My parents would be more than willing to co-sponsor and send mail, so I am feeling better already. After looking at the guides, am I right in understanding that it can take about 3-4 months for a fiance visa to come through? And then when it is issued it is valid for 6 months? Thanks again.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresUK to USA
Exactly, which is why I said that after doing some research, it might be better to have him come over on a fiance visa instead of just getting married then him having to leave and come back on a spouse visa.

If we do decide to apply for a fiance visa while we are both here in the UK, are we going to have problems due to the fact that I am not working in the US? I have been visiting and travelling Europe for 8 months, so I obviously don't have recent paystubs. I am very fortunate in that my parents have supported me and will do so until we are established and have our feet on the ground in the US, but will this be good enough to get a fiance visa approved? Thank you!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresUK to USA
Hi all,

I am new to this site and new to this whole process so forgive me if I ask any questions with obvious answers. I have read the guides but still have a few questions and any help would be so appreciated!

I am a US citizen visiting my boyfriend in the UK. I will be in the UK until May, when I will return to the US permanently. Before my boyfriend and I really researched anything, we decided that he would come over to the US as a visitor, then while he was visiting get married. Then he would return to the UK while we apply for him to come back as my spouse indefinitely. After looking at our options, I am wondering if it is better to just have him come over as my fiance.

My main question is, can we apply for his fiance visa while we are both in the UK? Do I have to be in USA? I didn't realize how complicated all of this is so any advice would be so helpful! Sorry if I am leaving any important info out. Thanks!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresQuick question
We are currently filling out all the paperwork for the K-1 and I just am not sure what to put where it asks for "File Number" on the G-325A form? Should we put none, N/A or leave it blank? Thank you!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresWorst time of year...
We just today sent our I-129F and we are excited but dreading the wait. Can I just ask, why exactly is the process so slow? How can it possible take 6 months (although I know it does). Are they testing relationships? Are there THAT many people trying to move to the USA? Just curious. Thanks:)

I am sorry if this is the wrong place to post this, but I want to know how to get my timeline to appear when I post a comment or question, like everyone else has. I have figured out how to start a timeline but I don't know how to make it show up. Thanks!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresI-129F to Nebraska?
I am from Colorado so I need to send the I-129F to Nebraska, but I thought I remembered reading somewhere that Nebraska doesn't process these applications. Are they sent on to California, and do I indeed still send it to Nebraska anyway? Do they send it right away? Just want to make sure I am not missing something. Thanks so much:)

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresNotary?
I thought this website suggested sending proof of ongoing relationship such as emails, chats, etc. This would explain why she sent them with her I-129F application, which I did also.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresI am starting a prayer brigade for non-stop approval of NOA2s especially for those who have long been waiting and for all other approvals you
God, you have blessed me so much. Thank you for allowing us to be together during this time of waiting. I read all the time about the people who are seperated from their loved ones and I pray that they have the strength to have faith and keep their spirits up. Our time to be apart will come later and I know you will be with me then. Thank you God!
Amen

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresA newbie with timing concerns!
Kym,
I just read this whole thread and just want to say how sorry this has happened. We just started this process ourselves last week and I can't imagine waiting so long to find out we have to start over! You seem to have such a positive attitude and I wish all of us on here could do something to help. Please keep us all updated and hang in there:)

Congratulations! Just a question about NOA1 dates. Should I enter our NOA1 date as the day we got it in the mail or the date quoted on the USCIS website as when they received it? Thanks!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures****DREAMS****
GabachaYucateca that was hilarious! I am a whole 2 weeks into this process and keep thinking to myself that our case is so straightforward, no kids, divorces, criminal records etc, that the first person who opened the 129F packet would see that there is no reason to delay an approval! I wish! Oh well, at least I can be with Rich during this process. My thought are with all of you guys who are separated from your loved one and I wish you could all be as lucky as we are (to be together for the wait):)

We were pretty simple about it, just used paper clips because we figured they would rearrange everything anyway. We did put the photos in the ziplock bags, though.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresAre there any REAL people working for USCIS?
PPFKL,
Ah, I should have known it was too good to be true. Thank you, though, for all your research. I knew I must have misunderstood. Only about 160 days left until we have the visa, then:)

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresAre there any REAL people working for USCIS?
PPFKL,
You stated that "For UK beneficiaries, it takes 74 days on average from receipt to interview.." Is that really true? That seems short compared to what I think I have seen on others timelines. Don't get me wrong, I hope you are right! That would be fabulous and I just got all excited. I know I have to remember that you used the word "average" so I know it may not happen for us that quickly. Thanks:)

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresI need advice!!!!
I lived with fiance (now husband) in England for a year then moved back. I had my parents sponsor him which really helped because I was not working. Maybe you can have someone else sponsor?
Jennymc11FemaleEngland2007-11-01 10:44:00
K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresLengthy visits while waiting
I was very lucky. I basically made a crazy decision to quit my job and go be with Rich in England for as long as I could (turned out to be a year). It worked out really well because I was 24 at the time, living with friends (rent, not own), no car payment etc, and though I liked my job I didn't love it and it was an easy decision to quit. My parents supported me emotionally and somewhat financially too, and of course Rich earned enough for the both of us in England.

Its been the moving back to the US that is breaking the bank. It took me two months to find a decent paying job and I lived with my parents for the month before Rich could get here. We're doing ok though, we just can't go out drinkin and to the movies or anything fun like that! Good thing we have a DVD player and a comfy couch:)

YES yes.gif Green card allows re-entry after a trip abroad.

Also this has nothing to do with K-1 visa process, it should be under: "Effects of Major Family Changes on Immigration Benefits"

I would guess the OP is thinking about other things...

Sorry for your loss!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresGot Approved!!!!!!!! Need advice!!!!

It takes about 3 days for the case to arrive at the embassy. So send them an email on Friday or Monday of next week to find out if they have it. If they do, they will send you the K Visa Instructions Package via email. Just follow the instructions on how to register on the link provided, pick your DHL destination, pay for the visa and pick your interview date. If you hurry, you might be able to make your appointment for August.

For more info regarding the process in Colombia you can check out the Colombia Club thread.
Diana

But wouldn't it take longer than that? Maybe my understanding is wrong. I thought that:
1) Processing center approves K-1 and send you an email (like the one above) telling you that they have approved it.
2) Processing center mails your approval packet Visa and approval documentation) to NVC (timeline 1-3 weeks for NVC to receive and process this)
3) NVC mails your Visa packet to Embassy (timeline 1-2 weeks for embassy to receive and process it I guess??)

Now after all of those steps the embassy will have the packet and an interview can be scheduled. Am I misunderstanding what occurs? Thanks because I'm in same boat as the OP - my NOA2 email arrived Jul 18.
