QUOTE (77Maureen @ Sep 18 2007, 06:41 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
I know that waiting to be reunited with my husband was the most painful process in the journey. We all go through with it and we are reunited in the end. Some wait shorter times some wait longer times.

During the process, i never once thought of throwing in the towel due to discouragement of the visa process, I felt like packing my bags and moving to Jordan to forget the visa process (many times) but I hung in there cuz there was nothing else I could do. I didnt want to move my kids across the world.

I would email the embasy, call uscis, etc and it got me nowhere just more angry and depressed. Finally, i just washed my hands from it, stopped all the inquiries and told myself ... whenever its meant to be it will happen and i swear within 3 weeks we got the call. ( probably just a coiencedence) but it did happen.

I wish the best for you and your family.

yes.gif Hello there...

I must wholeheartedly agree with this post as I experience something similiar. It seemed for a while in our case that we were just not meant to be together. Our case took 3 years and buckets of tears but yesterday he finally came. It DOES happen!! luv.gif Try to hang in there because love is priceless and you will be stronger when he comes once you have survived this hell together. God bless you and please....keep your head up and hope in the real things.

Middle East and North Africaum check please... please keep in MENA
smile.gif Hi Everyone!! Hey there girlie. I gotta tell you.....I had the same worries initially before my husband came to me. Let me let you in on a little funny secret....... secret7vf.gif When my husband first came ...I pulled out all of the recipes I though were fool proof. I am no gourmet cook but I know somethings I can get away with.....anyway..I made my little "homemade meals" and had them ready for his coming. My husband did not care for any of it but ate it because he loved me and knew I tried hard. A few days later, I decided it was too much work and resorted back to my old ways.....fish sticks, chichen nuggets, hamburger helper........... sleepy.gif I know I know!!! Lazy, salty meals...sorry...lol. Anyway, guess what.......he had his first fish stick meal and thought I had given him a hidden treasure!!! He could not get enough and ate them for at least 2 straight weeks. He thought they were miracle food or something. He had never had something so......American before and to my surprise I had a very easy time "impressing " him with the American cuisine. lol Now he has discovered hotpockets good.gif . So long story short, do your best but don't worry. Sometimes the things we take for granted and the things they will find to be new and "refreshing" lol, once they come. Good luck sweety and give yourself a break. Love is often the bridge between gourmet and "Goodtimes"!!!!

Middle East and North Africamonday thread?
luv.gif Good morning guys!!! I haven't had my coffee yet so if I barely make any sense, I'll try to come back on after my first dose of coffee and condiments later to translate tongue_ss.gif . O.K. So Jackie, I have always heard that it is easier to get a job when you have a job for some strange reason. If it were me, I would DEFINITELY put in a 2 week notice. You do NOT deserve to be treated like ####### on a job that doesn't seem to appreciate the experience and qualifications you have or any job for that matter. I have had a job like that. I walked out. I would not advise that. You need to show your new employer that you have integrity, even if your soon to be former job doesn't. Good luck and don't worry. There is a reason for everything!! Sounds like it is time for a job upgrade for you hun. good.gif You are a great employee and your next employer will be soooo lucky to get you. Am I making any sense? unsure.gif Well...I better go before I have to translate too many things. Have a great day everyone!! Friday is a'comin!!!

I did not know her personally, but the people who had the awesome priviledge of knowing her and spending time with her are truly blessed. My condolences go out to all of you. K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresSubmitting K-1 Visa application - Do I have everything that I need?
Ive got a question along the same lines. Im getting my packet together right now and I have everything plus some stuff that I may not need. I am attaching my cell phone bills with detailed calls. Do I need to highlight the calls to London or can they just see that I am calling my fiance? My last 4 month cell bills total over 150 pages.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresCo Sponsor Income Requirements?
Hi Mav, Thanks for your reply. I agree with you because this attorney has been unbelievably wrong in the past. Because I've been working in real estate, I do have some commissions due at upcoming closings and should make at least $40,000 this year. However, I have not yet closed on these transaction and collected commissions. I was just asking on this forum to see if anyone else has heard of a required adjusted gross income requirement before. It seems stupid because I know some men who have married and a portion of their income comes from social security checks. Likewise, if this attorney is correct I was asking, "What is the minimum amount of money that's required to show on the adjusted gross income for a co-sponsor's I-864"???

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresCo Sponsor Income Requirements?
Unfortunately, I hired an incompetent, unreliable attorney, but that's another long, drawn-out story. Fortunately, I have been reading the posts in VisaJourney which has help me to direct him. I understand that I will need a co-sponsor and a friend (i.e., single man and no other dependents) has agreed to being our co-sponsor. As usual, my attorney sends me an iPhone text reply of "No", but does not give me any clarification as to how much total income or "adjusted gross income" the Guangzhou consulate needs to see along with my co-sponsor's 1-864. (My email and attorney's reply shown below.) Is this immigration attorney correct? If so, please tell me the minimum amounts of adjusted gross income the Guangzhou consulate needs to see? I can never get a straight answer from this attorney and working with him has been a nightmare. It's a shame I did not know about VisaJourney.com before I hired this guy. (I did erase this attorney's last name and email, but I would love to warn everyone about him.)

No please find someone else. They look at adjusted gross income numbers only.

Michael,

My co-sponsor will be getting his 2010 income taxes finished this week. Meanwhile, he has informed me that his incomes are as follows:

2008 - $123,848 total income and he is looking up his AGI, but he knows it was far in excess of $40,000. (He was self-employed, but retired this year.)

2009 - $29,340 gross and AGI is $7,000+. ($22,340+/- is from Social Security)

2010 - $29,281 gross and AGI is $7,777+. ($21,504 is from Social Security)

Like many people, he was filing with Schedule C’s and taking as much write-off as possible.

Let me know if this is enough. Thanks.

Tim

Furthermore, my co-sponsor has about $77,000 in the bank and another $250,000 invested as mortgages which could be easier sold - if needed. When I began this process I had about $98,000 in the bank and a "structured settlement" with a face value of $71,900 (i.e., $50,000 market value). Now I'm down to $40,000 in the bank, but will easy make more than this in 2011.

I met my wife while working in Chengdu in commercial real estate development. Of course, the economy tanked in 2008, I've since lived off of my savings, make no income the last 3 years and I am just now recovering. However, I will easy make an income well over the 125% poverty level this year. Somebody, please give me some good financial advice about what does the consulate really look for when they look at a co-sponsor's financials??? How much money do we need to show as "adjusted gross income" for my co-sponsor? Thanks. Tim

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresGood verses Bad Immigration Attorneys
I would also caution against hiring a certain New York immigration attorney with the initials M.J.S. I did most of the work and he could not even assemble all of the required information for submittals. His services appeared to be designed to screw-up and delayed the process. Even though he promises a refund, I could not get my money back and got no satisfaction from complaining to the local bar association. (No surprise! It's attorneys policing attorneys.) The entire experience of working with this so-called "Pro" was a nightmare. Run, run, run - and do the work yourself.
