Sorry I am in NVC world. I didn't realize that you said the I-130. Yes, I think it took about two weeks for them to cash mine. Good luck!!

I would call. That seems like an awful long time for it to take to cash. For the IV bill you should try to pay online. That only takes a day.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Procedureshelp NVC 3032 form and lawyer
Do you have your case number? If so, print it out and send it in with the barcode that you can make through this website. Look in WIKI. It goes much much faster if you do it with the paper barcode. I sent both the email and the paper copy.
http://www.visajourn...il_DS-3032_form
Also you should follow these instructions. They got me through NVC quickly and with no RFE's. This part is so simple that you should do it on your own if at all possible and not use a lawyer. Good luck!!!

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresHow long will this I-130 request take?!?!?!
Yes, do give up hope yet. I was a June filer and was just approved a little over a month ago. That means you probably still have a bit to go. Don't pay attention to the processing times because they are inaccurate. You only need to pay attention to those if you are outside of those limits. The VJ timelines are the best although they are not that accurate either. Hang in there and stay strong. You still have a bit to go.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresBirth Certificate
Is there any way that you can go and get a new copy from some sort of records division? Are you Filipino or your husband? If you are a US citizen you can get a new copy of your record at your local clerk and recorder. If you are here in the US, you can just go to a notary to stamp your affidavit. That is what we did on a different piece. Not the birth certificate but the joint funds affidavit.

I hear ya. I don't see anyone else on here waiting for a Sydney interview. I called last night and they said they are full for December. The waiting goes on.... Cried myself to sleep. We are pretty broke but with the help of our parents are going to try and scrape up the money for the 24 hour travel to Au. We just can't bear it. Maybe we will get a January interview and I can be there to go with him. Keep me updated on all your cases.

I am in the process of waiting for my interview. I have been calling once or twice a day. Do you think that they mark your file every time that you call? If so, how many calls are too much? I just really want to know if we will have an interview in Dec or not. I am addicted to calling to see if I have an appointment yet. How many times did you call before you were told you had an appointment? It's pointless to call USCIS because they won't even look at your case so I don't even ask. Trying to get through today not calling again so this thread will keep me from hounding them. Sometimes I think that I should stop calling and let them process our cases. Do they have people who are dedicated to answering calls? These would not be the same people working our cases right? blink.gif

Your case is no longer in the hands of the USCIS, but with the Consulate in Australia -- under the jurisdiction of the U.S. Department of State. Two separate bureaucracies. Give the consulate another month for routine processing, and unless there is some complicating factor, they will contact you when you are ready. The USCIS "customer service" staff are dedicated to answering calls, but are probably not even physically located in the same city where your case was being reviewed.

Oh I know. My case is completed at the NVC. I was just saying that I would pose the question to USCIS'ers but that would be pointless since they won't tell you a word. My case was completed at NVC and am now waiting for an interview date. I can't help but calling everyday to see when that is.

I am now in the same boat, however our case was barely completed Nov. 5th. They told us all of the Dec. appointments have been set and to try calling around the 15th of December. We have never been in the AVR, so skip it and talk to a real person. Call NVC. Press 1 then 5. I don't think that it will do any good to contact the foreign consulate as NVC has the rights to schedule. Good luck!

I just read all of this and now I am so worried. They just entered our DS 230 and I looked at our question 20 and it says 10-1977 to 10-2008. I am such an idiot. I didn't even think to put present. I am so mad at myself. Do you think I am going to get an RFE now. Should I just resend it in now or wait for an RFE?

I was hoping to hear a case complete with you on Friday because I know that's what is going to happen for you!!! I am saying a prayer for you right now.

I went through the same thing. Mine kept moving. They move whenever someone gets approved. Because of mistakes or people not changing them at all, they move around. Those are rough rough estimates. Mine was off by 6 months. It said may be approved in March or April. It was approved in September. Keep up the hope.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresNVC DOESN´T BELIEVE ON THE VERACITY OF MY DOCUMENTS
I know it's kind of late for this but maybe for people who might soon be in the same situation. Once I was leaving USCIS I filed or original certified copies of everything so that I could have two. I paid another $20 for an additional two marriage certificates that were certified originals. I had my hubby get original certified copies of his birth certificates and I got additional ones for myself. The only papers that I was unable to get original duplicates were for the PCC's. Everything else we now have an additional original certified copy, just in case..... Worth the money and extra paperwork.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresHow long takes USCIS send to NVC
Yeah, it may take a few days or a few weeks. It all depends on all kinds of circumstances, so you just have to keep on calling them to find out when they got it.

A petition may take anywhere from 2-7 weeks to reach the NVC. I've seen some posts by a few members where it's taken longer than that but they're few and far in between.

After the NVC receives your petition, it can take them up to a week to assign you a case #. They will not enter this in the IVR, so you will have to talk to a live agent to find out what your case # is.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresBaptismal Certificate Colombia
It is not in lieu of a birth certificate. It is used for that purpose though but I saw 1 person being told at the US embassy in Bogotá that she had to make another appointment because she didn't have this document. She was in front of us so I could hear what was going on and after 10 minutes of going back and forth, the lady at the embassy found it and she was told to proceed for fingerprinting.

For Spanglish, who is the one filing through Bogotá. Whether it is a US Constitutional right or not, this document is needed and asked for at the US Embassy in Bogotá. And again if you don't have it, then you need to take a notarized affidavit or statement that you need to take explaining why this document is not available. There are several members in the Colombia Club who know how to get it and they can help you with it.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresBaptismal Certificate Colombia
Spanglish, you need a Baptismal Certificate in Colombia at the time of interview. If you don't have this for whatever reason, you need to get a statement notified and signed explaining the reason of why you don't have it. Trust me, they look for this when you hand in your paperwork, if you miss it, they cancel your appointment for that day until you get it.

There are a few members in the Colombia Club thread found in the Foreign Embassy forum who have gone through this process. They should be able to guide you as to where and how to get the notified statement.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresCR1 in US - How long to receive Social Security Card and Green Card
The SSA will not issue your wife a SSN until the USCIS enters all of her information in the system which can take anywhere from 2-7 weeks. After she receives her green card in the mail, give it about a week or two for her SS card to arrive in the mail as well. If she doesn't receive anything, she will have to go to a SSA office to file for one. We also checked my husband's SS box in his DS-230 but never received it and ended up going back to file for a SSN.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Procedureswho sends in IV package?

Hi fellow vjers, I have been reading a lot on this website searching for guidance. My husband filed petition in April this year. We got NOA2 approval on 19 Jul. Still waiting for NVC number.

I think since we want to make things go faster (I am sure everyone wants), so we will designate my husband who is in US as the agent.

My question is who will assemble and send in the IV package?

As I have the originals of my birth certificate, police certificate, passport etc...which are required for the IV package. Should I send these to him before hand to save time?

Thank you.

Either one can send the DS-230 package. The Choice of Agent is only for the NVC to know where to send their correspondence to, either the petitioner or beneficiary. They don't care who sends the paperwork or payment to them.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresNVC Requests Another Police Certificate

NVC informed me that the case is "complete" as of yesterday. Then just an hour ago I received the checklist cover letter that requires the beneficiary's Police Certificate (Australia), which I already DID send it to them with the IV package.

I called them and asked about the email/request. They said I need to request the police certificate to be sent directly to the embassy. But then I already included it in the IV package. How can I get it to the embassy? NVC already has it!

So how will the PC get to the embassy?

Thoughts? Has anyone experienced this before? Thanks.

It sounds to me that they sent out the request for the police certificate before they received it so that's why the case is now complete. They wouldn't have completed the case without it, so if they completed it, that means the do have it and will be sent out to the embassy.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresIs a copy of a Tranlated Marriage Certificate okay to use?
You should only send photocopies to the USCIS, never send original documents, same goes for the translations. As for NVC processing, you will need to send them original documents or certified copies, otherwise you'll get an RFE.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Procedureshow Petitioner receives I-864 Package from NVC ??

hi everybody i want to ask how the Petitioner receives I-864 Package from NVC ?
we just paid AOS and it shows paid , do we need to wait email from NVC sending package with form or what ? sorry i'm confused

When the AOS fee shows as paid you can go ahead and print out the AOS barcode sheet and send it with form I-864 and the necessary documentation. Same goes for the IV Fee bill and the DS-230 form. Don't wait for them to mail you anything because it can take weeks for things to start rolling, unless you need to make time. You can find all of this info in the EZGuideSpouse guide.
