I recommend reading James' shorcuts which can be found in the National Visa Center forum. He breaks down the CR-1/IR-1 process step by step so you know exactly what to expect.

I won't be putting last year's income since this year I will be making a lot more. I'll be taking my weekly earned amount and multiply it by 52 to get my annual salary. The pay stubs and employment letter will back up the number I put on the I-864 form.

If you still want a copy of your NOA1, you need to call USCIS and ask for one. They'll tell you it will take about 30 days but in reality it takes a lot longer. I had to call them to get mine and I received it a week before our petition was approved.

Funny thing is, I still haven't received my NOA2. Come to think of it, it's really not that funny.

You'll be ok. The employment letter needs to be submitted with the I-864 at the NVC/embassy level and you still have to wait a while for that. I started a new job about 3 weeks ago and will have a letter from my employer stating that plus tax returns for the past 3 years.

You need to go to the NVC forum and read James' shortcuts to have an idea of what each step is. Even if you choose not to follow the shortcuts, it helps out a lot to know what you need to do next.

Jarl,

I don't mean to sound harsh but you really need to read the guides and James' shortcuts in the NVC forum to help you with each step of the process. I've been telling you this in several posts for a while now and you keep asking the same questions.

A copy of both is enough. You can also get tax transcripts from the IRS if you want to send those instead.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresRFE :(

I think i got an RFE I called NVC today and the Automatic Message says that information is missing or incomplet on my finacial affidavit and that they have sent a check list. What could this mean ?

Miriam don't worry. It is a normal automatic message according to James' shortcuts:

"Because its "track" has one fewer step, the review of the AOS/I-864 is often completed long before the DS-230 has even arrived at the NVC. Thus, using the AOS fee bill and I-864 shortcuts below will, more often than not, not save you any time at all. However, if you anticipate a complicated I-864 situtation and/or if you are RFE prone, it won't hurt to get your I-864 in early. (The early completion of its review will, however, generate an odd kind of RFE -- you will hear the IVR tell you that "some documents are missing or incomplete" and that a "checklist" has been sent. This just means that they still haven't received your DS-230.)"

Nothing to worry about. ;)

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Proceduresdocuments we have to send with I-864

hello everybody

Besides DS-230 form and that DS-3032 form . what are the DOCUMENTS my wife(petioner) and me the benificiary/the

intending imigrant have to collect to send with I-864 back to NVC? CAN you please list the DOCUMENTS the petioner has

to have and the ones the intending imigrant has to collect and thus send back to NVC?

THANK YOU SO MUCH

You need to go here http://travel.state..../info_3176.html
Choose your embassy and see the list of documents that you need to send to the NVC, if any. Remember that any document you send to them needs to be translated.

Yes, you do need a copy of the biographical page of her passport to send in with the DS-230 form.

I would suggest reading the Colombian Club threads here on VJ to see what the process is like. There have been several members who already went through the CR-1/IR-1 process through Bogotá and have given us lots of info.

It seems that CSC is going crazy with the amount of work they have lined up. But I'm sure everybody will get approved sooner or later. The NVC is going through the same thing and now we have to wait longer for our forms to be generated.

I think the operator was right when it comes to CSC petitions. On average, most VJ February filers have been approved and are at the NVC already.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresDS-3032 Processing Time??

Good Morning

I just called the NVC automated system and it stated they received my DS-3032 on May 31. It also states it take about 4-6 weeks to process.. is this true? Now that I sent the DS-3032 is it useless to send an email (choice of AOS) to speed up the process? Any info is greatly appreciated. thx!

The e-mail is to select the choice of agent, but since they already received it, there's no use in sending it.

Did you mail the AOS bill yet? If it was generated and you still haven't received it, you can follow James' shortcuts to create the barcode and send it ahead of time. This will save you some more time as well.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresApproval emails received lastnight
Since my husband doesn't speak English, what I did was I sent him an e-mail with the exact words to send to the NVC. He then composed a new e-mail, copied/pasted what I sent onto it and mailed it out. And I also agree that the NVC won't even know who the e-mail is really coming from, some e-mail addresses don't even make sense when people create them anyway.

Congratulations once again. And now that you've joined us here at the NVC, you should definitely read James' shortcuts over and over and over and over again. They're cofusing at first but they start making sense after a while.

The first thing you should do is check out the DOS web site like Nyseness said. This link http://travel.state..../info_3176.html will take you directly to the place where you will see what documents you need to send to the NVC later on in the game. Pick the correct embassy, in your case Tegucigalpa, Honduras and then click on "documents the applicant needs to return to the NVC". From I see you only need to submit the DS-230 and biographical page of you husband's passport (lucky you!). My husband already filled out the DS-230, signed part I (part II remains unsigned) and will send it to me next week so I can have it ready.

But before any of that happens you need to read the shortcut about the choice of agent e-mail and start practicing on how to create the label for the AOS bill.

Let me know if you have any questions as I will be ahead of you and can tell you how it goes for me.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresPLACE CASE BARCODE STRIP?
The new DS-3032 form doesn't have that. You will receive the form for you to fill out with the barcode already in it. You can also e-mail the NVC to let them know about the choice of agent if you don't want to wait aroung for the form to arrive. You can check out the info in James' shortcuts in the NVC forum.

You can also call the NVC to find out if they received the payment for the IV bill, they won't close the case unless it is received. Once they close the case the embassy will know that everything is in order, including the fee payments.

You'll be ok Miriam, nothing to be upset about. They'll finish processing your case at the NVC as soon as you send in what they want and then you'll be a step closer to being with your husband. Just think, you're so close to getting there, unlike so many of us who don't know what is going on with NVC.

And don't pay attention to Yodrak, he's an ogre and answers most questions with an attitude.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresWorried.....proof of relationship????
Same for K-3 visas. The guide says you need a copy of the NOA1 from the I-130 to submit with I-129F for a K-3 visa. Then there are some threads where some people have said that you only need proof of USCIS having received it and include the receipt #, not an actual copy of the I-797.

I agree with everyone else nyseness. You should be fine since you at least submitted your marriage certificate and that's a very important proof of a bonafide marriage. ^_^

Don't worry, just relax and you'll see that you should be getting your NOA2 soon. Think positive.

If you don't have time to change the name on your passport, you can take your marriage certificate to show why you have the new married name on your petition.

You should definitely call the NVC. My husband sent them an e-mail on Wednesday EXACTLY as the shortcut says and he got a response yesterday acknowledging they had received it. I also called the NVC this morning and the automated message says they received the choice of agent as well. So there are no problems with the shortcut at all.

Isn't that what James' shortcuts talk about? That the automated system will show that you will receive an RFE due to the fact that they haven't received some of the paperwork, when it is not the case?

I don't think anybody is giving you a hard time. I always try to see the glass half full and in your case, it's so close to being full. Just give it time and you'll see that the NVC will close your case quickly and your husband will have his interview sooner than later. If we all give in to desperation, especially being so close to the finish line, we will drive ourselves crazy. A la Paris Hilton. :P

Miriam,

Even though it's really painful to be away from our loved ones you are still way ahead of other people's journey. So waiting another 3 weeks for you to send in the extra paperwork is nothing compared to the people who have been waiting since July of last year to get their I-130s approved. The NVC plays dirty tricks on all of us but since you're going through Cuba, you're still WAY ahead of many of us.

Be patient and be very, very grateful that your visa will be granted in no time.

It may be "free" after July but in reality they get you when you file for AOS since that fee went up as well... so it's not free at all.

It's different when you have to submit documents to USCIS where you can send just send them regular copies. But when it comes to the NVC part of the process, you have to send in the original documents or certified copies along with translations.
