IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresFebruary Filers

Finally a touch! I'm a february filer too!

Ha! You don't count! It was a K-3 touch! :P Just kidding. Congrats!

I am waiting for that CR-1 touch and hopeful NOA2 already. Damn VSC and the super slow USCIS process.

I thought the same thing. K-3s might be filed faster or slower than CR-1/IR-1s. :P

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresFebruary Filers
I didn't see this post in the CR-1/IR-1 section. I started a thread in the K-3 visa but since I'm a CR-1 filer now, things have changed.

I sent my I-130 on 02/05. I THINK I got my NOA1 sent out on 02/14 when the case was also received by CSC from NSC. They touched my case on 02/16 and that was it.

Anybody else?

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresWhat is the difference between CR1 and IR1?
Actually, you have to apply to remove conditions 90 days before the 2 year mark of your entrance to the US, not the date of your anniversary.

No, not yet. You have to wait until NVC says that it has been generated.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Procedureswhat to send after the approval of I-130?
1. What kind of visa are you filing for.
2. You're asking about sending documents... to whom?
3. :time:

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresQuestion...I need ur opinion :)
Well, not really. I just checked your timeline and it says you filed for a CR-1/IR-1 visa with VSC. Even though this service center is known for approving petitions for K-1s within weeks and K-3s in about 3 months, they are also known for taking way longer to approve petitions for CR-1/IR-1 visas.

Check out the timelines for VJ members who have similar ones to yours and you'll get an idea. But unfortunately I don't think it will happen any time soon, I hope I'm wrong though.

1. Yes, you will receive an NOA2 letting you know about the approval. Do not lose this because if you ever need it, you will have to file a petition and pay big bucks to get it.

2. You'll know it's the NOA2 because it will be the second NOA they send you. The first one being the one letting you know that they have received your petition.

3. There is no difference, it's the same thing.

4. Yes, the service center is the one that issues the NOA2. In your case it will be CSC.

5. It will look like the NOA1 except this one will say that your petition has been approved.

6. Usually about 1-2 weeks after it has been approved.

Since you are now pursuing the CR-1 I recommend you start reading this thread http://www.visajourn...p?showtopic=117

It is in the National Visa Center forum and it has a ton of useful info.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Procedureshow to get case number
After contacting NVC once again and USCIS and you still don't have an answer on where your case might be, you should make an infopass appointment to find out what is going on. If that doesn't work, then you should contact your local representative (senator or congressman) to see if they can find out what is going on for you.

I STRONGLY recommend you read as much as you can and search for as much as you can in the forum so you don't have to ask a question every 5 minutes about the visa process. It's for your own good. :guides:

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresQuestions on some of the Forms
1. You can file the I-130 with your married name if you want.

2. I used Adobe and typed all forms, the I-130 and G-325A

3. No, once you open the G-325A on Adobe you will see that even though each form looks the same, they're not. All 4 pages will all have the same info on them, but at the bottom left hand corner you will see that each one has a different place it is going to. If you use Adobe to fill it out, all 4 forms will have the same info automatically.

This is correct. Also, don't worry about losing time with the transfer, the petitions still get processed within the average time.

Cases from TSC are transferred to CSC. Don't worry, they still approve it within the average timeline which is about 90-120 days.

Our I-130 was approved on 05/03 and it was received by NVC on 05/10. I still haven't received the NOA2 but I kept calling the NVC # and they told me they had received it and game me the case #. I see nothing wrong with you calling them to find out if it's reached them or not.

It is normal nowdays not to get your NOA2 right away. There is a whole bunch of us who were approved on 05/03 and we still haven't received it even though NVC already gave us a case # over the phone.

Finally!

And don't wait 3 weeks to check if NVC has received your file, don't waste any more time. If it was approved on 05/11, you can start calling tomorrow to see if they have it. Just follow the automated system and plug in your USCIS receipt #.

Congrats once again girl!!!!

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Proceduresds230

Hi all,
I am getting ready for the DS230. I had my wife sent me all the original documents I need for the DS230. Will the NVS accept copies of the documents or just the original copies? Because she will needs them the day of the interview.

Could you please tell me where could I find the last DS230 jam’s coversheet?
Thank you

You need to check out the DOS site to find out what they need you to send to them, it is all based on your embassy. If it says that you need to send documents such as birth, marriage and police certificates, they all need to be original or certified copies, not regular photocopies and TRANSLATED. Once you send them to NVC, you won't have to have them at the interview since the embassy will received them from NVC. If the instructions on the DS-230 say that you do not have to send the documents to NVC, then you do have to have them for the interview.

But I believe the beneficiary has to send out the e-mail because the DS-3032 is sent to them. You can send the sample e-mail to your spouse and he/she can just mail it to NVC.

What if the SO doesn't have an email? Can he log into my acct and send an email thru mines?

Hey girl,

Yeah, you can go real quick to Hotmail or Yahoo, set up an e-mail address with your spouse's name and send it to the NVC yourself. Plus, he can have that e-mail account already set up for him when he gets here.

I recommend reading James' shorcuts which can be found in the National Visa Center forum. He breaks down the CR-1/IR-1 process step by step so you know exactly what to expect.
