Maiden name is the same last name they had before they got married. The first last name that they were given. That's the name that should go there.

Are you being sarcastic when you say that he was "really really nice" when he chose not to marry you the third time around? I sure hope so.

And no, I don't think you'll have a problem if you meet someone else and files for you as long as your new relationship is legit and you can prove it. They will be two different petitions.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresG-325A
Since both of you need to submit form G-325a each, the word "applicant" refers to each of you. So on his it will have his info, and on yours it will have your info.

Don't forget that this form has 4 identical pages that need to be filled out and sign.

What I did was take one page of the full conversation and pasted it on excel, made it all pretty and that's that. I took two conversations for each month, so it was only two pages per month. As long as they can get the hint that you're a couple from reading just one page at time, you should be ok.

I went to the interview to make sure everything would go ok and be there if the CO wanted to talk to me. He never asked to interview me and then we flew back together. It's a personal choice, really.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresFiling for K-1 Visa, foreign fiance just divorsed
A regular photocopy is all you need, the US does not require legal foreign documents to be apostilled for the most part. Make sure that you also send a copy of the translation (anyone can translate it as long as they're fluent in both English and Spanish) and the most important thing is to make sure that you have the final divorce decree document or your I-129F will be denied.

The US embassy does not need anything apostilled either nor translated since they're fluent in both languages.

Yes you can as long as you don't overstay your visa. At POE you may have to prove you still have ties to your home country and has no intentions of staying here until your K1 is approved.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresK1 Visa Entry to US
QUOTE (LT LN @ Jul 29 2008, 08:32 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Would someone can answer or point me to the right place of concerns I have:
- What is the latest time can a person need to come to the US before the K1 Visa is expired, and still able to get married certification.
- How long does it take to get a green card after having a married certification.

TIA
LT-LN

You have six months to use your visa once it's approved at the embassy. As soon as you use it to enter the US, you still have the 90 days to get married.

After filing for AOS, it can take anywhere between 6 months to a year to get your green card.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresAt what point should the fiance get a passport?
Most passports are good for 10-12 years so it's a good idea to get it right away even if the interview won't be happening for another 6-12 months.

This may be like way too far into the future but he can also wait 3 years after he gets his green card (after AOS is approved) become a US citizen and then live where ever he wants for as long as he wants. But as an LPR he HAS to live in the US or you will have to do the entire process all over again.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresEffect of work history on K1 visa application
The US embassy doesn't care about the jobs she's had, unless they're illegal. She can be unemployed for years, be at the same job for a long time or change jobs all she wants. It doesn't matter.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresAdvice neeed!
Matt,

Since her case is already in Colombia she will get an interview date soon. Bottom line is, you will need a co-sponsor if you do not make enough money right now. The embassy is mainly concerned about your current salary and if you are unemployed, then you're going to have to get a sponsor ASAP. Remember that both, you and your co-sponsor will need to submit a notarized I-134 is supporting financial documents.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Proceduresquestion regarding g-325a and i-129f
I agree, the guidelines are pretty clear and easy to follow and it's best to fill out as much as possible so that the USCIS doesn't hesitate on approving you on an answer they may think it's missing.

Also, you need to put down your father's name whether it's on your birth certificate or not. None or N/A do not apply since we all have a father, without that person we're non existent. happy.gif

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresTourist visa while K-1 is pending
This is true. I've seen people with very good jobs, money and all the reasons in the world to go back to Colombia be flat out denied. And I've also seen people without anything to fall back on, college students even be given a visa without any questions asked. It makes no sense to me either.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresTourist visa while K-1 is pending
Anything goes at the US embassy and they can do whatever they want. Firs of all, you should always tell the truth if you decide to go for a tourist visa again because it might come back and bite you when you go for your K1 visa interview. The CO may or may not grant you a visa even if you have all the evidence in the world to stay living in your home country until your K1 visa is approved. He or she may also flat out deny you and say to wait for the K1 visa. It's always a gamble and there are no guarrantees either way.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresQuestion - I-129F and G-325A
You need to send the I-129F and a G-325A with your info and signed by you and another G-325A info for your fiancée and signed by him/her. The G-325A has 4 pages total, so make sure you both signed all 4 pages.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresTime to clear immigration with K1 visa
It depends on the airport and day of the week. Some people can take only 15 minutes to process, others can take up to 3-4 hours. The best thing is try not to fly on a weekend because it will be hectic.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Proceduresdenied for tourist visa, effect on K1?
The CO will probably ask her about her petition for a tourist visa and all she has to do is be honest, but it won't affect the outcome of her approval of the K1 as long as she brings evidence of you two having a legit relationship.

The beneficiary will have to bring in form I-134 signed and notarized along with financial documents to the interview. If the petitioner doesn't make enough, he/she will need a co-sponsor. The co-sponsor will also have to fill out, sign and notarize a separate I-134 along with financial documents.

Same here. I saw that they cashed my check and got my receipt number from the cancelled check but after 5 weeks of waiting and not receiving an NOA1 I called them. They thought it was odd I hadn't received it and sent me another one. Good thing I called because I had gotten the wrong receipt # off of the cashed check and had been looking at the wrong petition online for more than a month! So then 2 months later I received the NOA1, the day before I got my approval notice via e-mail from CRIS. dry.gif

That's why it's so important to have copies of W2s and corresponding tax returns. That way you can show what you earned for the entire year, whether it was for 1 month, 6 months or 12 months.
